West and Julian can help each other, and at first they don’t want anything further. But as they dodge meddling cousins, jealous rivals, and an insidious drug, it becomes clear that their lives are entwined in ways they never imagined—and they’re in greater danger than they thought possible.

Being on the run from your pack can prove quite troublesome, especially when you need to reinforce spells to keep everyone away from the little plot of land you have claimed. Julian is recommended to West as being the right mage for the job, but sparks immediately fly between these two. A ‘you scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours’ situation soon arises, and the story takes off.

I don’t know if this is part of a series or not, but I did feel at times that it was a second or third book, simply due to the world-building. There is great depth to parts of it, but not so much in others. There is such a lot going on in this world, and we learn about most of it.

The story is written very well, flowing along smoothly. The pacing is on-point, with ebbs and flows as per the story. The characters are all nicely described, although everyone will have their own ‘favourite’.

If this is the first book in a series, then I would definitely want to carry on the series. If it’s a standalone, then I am happy I’ve read it, although I would have like to delve into this world a bit more.

Still, an amazing story that I have no hesitation in recommending.

The title says it all!!

I picked up this book on a lark. I saw the title and decided it might be a good story to read on a chilly winter evening. I’m glad I did. The writing flowed well and once I started the book, I couldn’t put it down. I needed to know more. The fact I came in partway through the series didn’t hamper my enjoyment of the book. I felt like I’d known the characters all along and wasn’t lost. That’s kudos to the author for keeping the story fresh and the characters vivid enough that I wasn’t lost.

I liked Deanna immediately. She’s interesting and snappy. She knows what she’s doing with those spirits and even when she’s not sure what’s going on, she’s on top of things. I liked her forthright approach. I also liked her vulnerability with her boyfriend, Paul. She’s a well-rounded character. Then there’s the cast of characters that round out the story. Yes, there are a lot of characters, but it wasn’t hard to keep them sorted out. I liked the variety.

The mystery aspect of the story was great. There were twists and turns I didn’t see coming. The subplot is fascinating and more than a little scary. I needed to know how the story would turn out and what would happen next. Like I said above, I couldn’t put this book down.

If you want a book that’s sure to please, with a twist of mystery and lots of paranormal excitement, then this might be the book for you.

Rhiannon is sick and tired of her job. She wants out. Literally. For the past six hundred years she’s been the Genie in the Lamp. You know the drill. Some dumb human comes along, rubs the lamp, and presto! Rhiannon has to grant them three wishes. She’s tired of humans, and she’s tired of making their dreams come true. She petitions the head of the Council of the Fae to replace her, and she’s ecstatic when her request is granted.

Of course, there’s one teensie little condition. Isn’t there always?

She has to travel to the far reaches of the fairy realm and convince the tooth fairy to go back to work. It seems she isn’t the only who’s tired of her job. And when she finds the elusive fairy, he’s nothing like what she expected. It’s time to turn the tables on the Council of the Fae.

Not every fairy is necessarily going to follow the rules.

The plot twists made me grin. Ms. Kane clearly spent a lot of time coming up with adult and erotic spins on the traditional versions of what fairies and genies are like. I enjoyed her creative takes on these topics, and it was always interesting to see how her versions of them interacted with each other and the world at large. There was more than one scene that I didn’t see coming in advance, and that’s definitely a good thing.

It would have been helpful to have more character development in this story. I didn’t feel like I got to know the two main characters that well, and they also didn’t seem to change a lot as a result of the things that happened to them. Both of these things had a negative impact on my interest in seeing what would happen to them next.

With that being said, the chemistry between Rhiannon and Jack was well done. I loved the author’s explanation of their backstories just as much as I did seeing how they reacted the first time they saw each other in this tale. Their mutual attraction was as instantaneous as it was believable. I haven’t read a lot of stories that managed to pull that off this smoothly, but this one did an excellent job of making me believe they’d move as quickly as they did.

One Hot Fairy Tale should be read by anyone who is in the mood for something spicy.

The price of survival is blood. The price of freedom is life. All things will eventually meet their end…….including humanity.

After generations of advancement, the human race thought they were invincible. That was until the revenant made their presence known. In order to survive, humans had to pay a price.

The cost……their blood. The source of life for all living things.

Persephone Black (Phoebe) was an orphan. She and her Pappy made a living on the outskirts of the revenant city where the poor and desolate were numerous. Phoebe had kept her head low and remained unnoticed for her entire life. She was content working as a junior gardner at the nursery as long as it meant her and Pappy’s continued survival within the city walls.

As fate would have it, Phoebe wouldn’t be able to go unnoticed for much longer. She caught the attention of Cassius, a revenant, and was summoned by him to the tower.

Phoebe would learn more about the revenant than most other humans. Cast into a world that she was not yet ready for, Phoebe would do anything to survive.

But she would soon learn that sometimes the cost of survival is more than a person could bear.

After the revenant war, the humans were divided into two sections, those well to do who had places in the Consulate, and those who worked hard for a mere pittance and gave blood once a month to the revenants, or vampires, to give them their common name. Failure to work meant exile from the city to the wilds where the people were like animals.

Phoebe works in a garden nursery and looks after her adopted father Pappy until one day her world turns upside down.

At times this story grabbed my interest but at others it became very bland. I also found it a bit difficult to follow at times, especially when the revenant gave her a feeling of security and comfort. Why would she trust him so quickly? The story also seemed to gallop along in places, moving her rapidly from place to place with no real time to get interested in what was happening to Phoebe.

The concept of the book was intriguing and with a bit more effective development could become a very good story. Make it a bit deeper and longer and the author would have an excellent novel.

She was created to give men pleasure. He wants to give her pleasure, and maybe something more than that.

This tale had a deliciously slow buildup. I relished every scene that slowly but surely pushed Mira and Evan closer and closer to finally meeting each other and finding out if the spark they felt when she noticed him watching her through the window was something that would burn brighter once they were in the same room. It couldn’t have been written better or more clearly.

There was a plot hole involving Mira breaking a major rule that wasn’t explained well. Early on in the story, the audience was told that anyone would broke certain rules would face severe consequences for that action, so it came as a surprise to me to see what happened to this character after she stepped over that line and was discovered. I enjoyed everything else about the storyline, but not being entirely sure what happened here prevented me from giving the higher rating I would have otherwise chosen.

Not only did Mira and Evan have fantastic chemistry, the explanation given for why this was the case made a great deal of sense. I appreciated the fact that the author put so much thought into this part of their lives. It’s not something I’ve seen done very often in this genre, but it really made them come alive in my imagination. I’m looking forward to reading more from Ms. Douglas in large part because of how she handled this portion of the plot.

I’d recommend Pleasure Port 27 to fans of science fiction and erotica alike.

A really short erotic story that gives a glimpse to what ight happen if aliens came to ‘experiment’ on humans.

Let me start by saying this is not a love story–but could have been. Alinta’s experiment was something to smile about. I loved the ending and I hope there is a continuation. Alinta’s education on sex and seduction, plus her eagerness to learn as much as possible were welcome surprises. I had expected her to be aloof and distant with her partner. I’m glad I was wrong.

There was not much of a climax or drama which was disappointing to a degree, but I did love Alinta’s need to absorb as much as possible. I also liked the ending–it wasn’t what I expected. That being said, this is a short erotic story that might be great for an afternoon read. Try it!

When the battle lines are drawn, Cory must choose who is friend or enemy. Will love save her or endanger her even more?

Cory was about to begin a new life. She’d lost her job, her husband and her home. Luckily Aunt Addy had invited her to stay which meant time to sort out her life and decide what to do with herself. Romance was not part of the future as far as she was concerned.

Even before she got to her aunt’s house she found herself at the mercy of a man when her car swerved off the road in the middle of nowhere. Luck had been with her as the man turned out to be her aunt’s neighbour, but when she got to her aunt’s another man entered her life. Her aunt’s lawyer. Both men were gorgeous but the neighbour seemed more sincere, even if he was downright annoying. It also didn’t help that Cory finds magic creeping into her life when she least expects it.

I enjoyed this book. Cory’s inner thoughts were good. She argued with herself and told herself off, just like most people do when they’re thinking things through. The men came across as real, colourful characters and I knew to distrust Sebastian – the lawyer– right from the beginning. There was something not quite right about him. Finn on the other hand is tall, dark and wow! Unfortunately too much wow usually means trouble.

Good book, well written and captivating with a hint of mystery and thriller.

Scientists from Harmonia travel to Loretania to help get rid of the disease and make their ecology grow and sustain the population. Good intentions are all very well, but human greed interferes.

I like that it’s the teenagers who follow up on this intention when their queries are met by silence. The corruption of the older generation shows that no matter how much people want to help those less fortunate than themselves, there are others who are only interested in themselves.

The story does allude to rape, the act is mentioned but no actual rape scene is described. This is a young adult book as the main characters are teenagers and the story is their story. Good book, interesting reading.
