This story had some truly memorable characters, to the point that I just do not know where to begin. Nick was the character that I think my heart went out to the most. It seemed as though everyone focused on Tyler’s antics and bad boy image, and Nick just kind of got lost in the mix on many occasions. Even when Tyler, Kaelin and Nick sleep together, the emotional attachment and fulfillment seemed to be mainly focused on Tyler and Kaelin. This forgotten perception really made me sympathize with Nick and made me want to give him a giant hug. Tyler is everything anyone can want in a bad boy. The author really did a great job portraying him as the person girls want, and men (including his father) do not like. As is the case with many bad boys, things are not always what they seem. While he creates his fair share of trouble, he also protects those he cares about even if it’s from himself and his antics. Tyler’s personality reminded me of so many bad boys I know. When you look beneath the surface, you see someone trying to live up to unrealistic expectations, and hiding who they really are.

Kaelin may be a good girl around town, but she is one naughty woman behind closed doors. Kaelin reminds me of the phrase “I want a lady in the streets and a freak in the bed.” She has some hidden desires that I do not believe anyone including her even knew existed. She has given of herself to so many people throughout her entire life, all she asked for was one night to have two men focus on her alone, to give her everything that she’s been waiting and yearning for way too long.

The plot in this story was just as extraordinary as the characters. From the wedding of Tyler’s sister, to the romance between the main characters, to a family torn – the author really incorporated everything. It made this story a very easy read, which seemed to make time fly. I was so enthralled by the storyline I quickly found myself at the end of the story and still wanting more.

It has been a while since I have found a story to truly entrance me and for that, I have to rate this story a 5 and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great romance novel with a little kink.

And finally we see Jackson and Sinclair recently from His Beck & Call Girl. Cooper McKenzie was able to bring a lot of her characters together in this installment and never let any one set overshadow another. Each couple or group had their own scenes that led up to the other. I was able to invest in everyone even with this book being a short read.

I had not previously read the prior six books, but in no way did I feel lost or at a disadvantage reading A Club Esoteria Christmas. I personally believe that takes a great deal of talent, and it made me want to go back and read the books to experience how all these couple came to be where they are in this novella. Fans of Ms. McKenzie or the Club Esoteria series will not be disappointed at all.

Sophie is spunky, smart and turns out to be very sexy. Drawn into the game Lucien has set up starting with letting her into his castle on an island ( awesome right? I know! ) to let her work on a news story about the history of the castle. She is instantly drawn to the enigmatic man who she knows is toying with her yet can’t seem to make herself pull away from him. But under it all, she sees his pain and the grief he carries for his loss.

Lucien and Sophie were quite a pairing. They fed off each other and for every push and pull the other returned the favor. Whenever one thought they had the upper hand in their game, the other threw them off balance. It was an elegant dance of deception and sexuality. In one very poignant scene, which I won’t give away, Lucien is in a very dark place and no one but Sophie could have brought him the light he needed.

So much of this story is woven with Lucien’s plan that it’s hard not to give out spoilers. I was more than one hundred pages in before I realized what exactly was going on and the exact person around whom the revenge revolved. It kept me very intrigued and I was completely absorbed in book. Add in the additional back story of the man who built the castle on the island, and his family, I finished this in just a couple hours. By the way, did you happen to notice the other elements of this story above? Yeah, that was not at all what I was expecting.

My only complaint was a few times I scratched my head during some of the internal monologue. Sophie was someone who didn’t swear, yet during a sex scene she used very adult slang words. I felt that if she truly didn’t swear those words shouldn’t have been in her vocabulary. I think other terms could have easily been used to describe the scene. Leave the vulgarity to Lucien, who was quite fond of it.

All in all, a great story very captivating and heart wrenching. Ms Dane wrote a fascinating tale of one broken soul and the last person on earth he expected to fix it. So if you enjoy stories like that, this is for you.

The characters didn’t seem to really click until the end of the book, when they were finally able to give one another what they needed.

Mesa spent much of the time knowing Sammy was perfect for him and Kody, yet stressing over the clan drama. Kody spent most of his time and energy keeping the peace between Sammy and Mesa, yet was so happy to be back with Mesa. And Sammy spent most of the book being confused over who she was and why her husband was sharing her. The characters were strong enough, though, that I needed to see what happened and how it all played out for them. I wanted to hug Kody, pounce on Mesa and shake Sammy. Oh, and I loved Mesa’s siblings! Canyon and Juniper were not only adorable names, but really great secondaries. The sex scenes between Kody, Sammy and Mesa were hot and well written, also.

Their story had a few rough spots but the characters were certainly not boring. I kept reading because I simply had to be sure they found their HEA. I’m glad I did. If you like a little biting, bickering, and growling with your wolfy sex then you’ll enjoy this book.

This book began by pulling me in on the first page with Ms. Rylon’s distinct imagery and had me completely snared by the third with the inevitable drama about to unfold.

The Powertools series began with a pairing off the Crew’s foreman Mike and the others have followed suit. I was curious how Ms. Rylon was going to deal with Neil and James in this series being that they are a couple themselves, except Neil is bi-sexual and James’ preference is guys…actually his preference is Neil. So we are given two guys who are already in love. Them we get Devon, a tomboy who works in construction too, who joins the crew as an apprentice and Neil experiences love at first sight for the second time in his life. Neil is a lucky guy, if you ask this reader.

There are a two major plot points in Devon’s Pair which are both integral parts of the story. I really enjoyed the dialogue in this story as the characters banter back and forth as well as express their feelings realistically. Kudos to Ms. Rylon on her spectacular sex scenes. She has managed to pen the unimaginable and make it seem as though I was a voyeur who was unable to turn away.

The subplot of Amy’s disappearance truly weaves this story together. It compiles all the characters, to make an engaging and appealing story. Ms. Dalton wrote an enthralling tale that showcased her ability to write believable characters with emotions and depth. She captures your attention and you feel like you are a part of their journey and tribulations.

Stoneface is an exceptionally well written story. The love and pain these three characters share is so strong and touching, all you can do is open your heart to them. This is another Dalton tale that will forever be a part of my collection.

I didn’t really know what to expect from this book. At times it lulled a bit but those lulling points lead to a better understanding of the group of characters on a whole. These three characters, Jim, Jane and Stu couldn’t have been more ill matched for each other but they were exactly what each other needed. Without Stu, Jim wouldn’t have probably gotten out of the situation at home and met Jane. And without Jane, Jim wouldn’t have been able to open up about his sexuality. The idea that they made great music together during this time only added to the mix that eventually led to a crash and burn for them all. Stu was the leader of this little gang, and from the beginning knew that he was never like the other two but they were the best things that ever happened to him. He was the “dark angel” or “devil” tempting these two kids from the right side of the tracks. But he was also the engine that lead to the place where they could be exactly who they needed and uncover everything about themselves. The essential bad boy, he was the key that opened the lock door inside both Jim and Jane.

Jane, was the quiet reserved one that fed off the power she got on stage. She was the missing piece that brought Jim and Stu together making a sort of family when none of them had that on their own. She was also the level- headed one that made sure to think all things through before jumping. But she was also hiding a part of herself from both these men, something that only could be reveled with the two of them together.

Jim, in the end, was the glue that held them all together. He was the one they both loved and wanted to be with. He was also the most damaged and in his eyes the most unworthy of anything. Even thought he was the glue that kept this team together it was probably longer than they could stand. In the end it imploded the relationship between them all.

This was a memoir of sorts, as all three of them remembered it, and how their lives all became intertwined and the effects that life, relationships, sex and rock n roll had on all of them. A great story all around with enough meat to it that it was very hard to put the book down at the last page.

I enjoyed the ‘will she or won’t she’ part of this story, and Ms. Cahill has given us characters that we want to see more of. This one is hot and the emotions expressed by all three are delightful.
