We also know that Pete and Brian will do anything to protect Ethan when Ethan has to deal with a stalker and the shock of finding out who that stalker is, has other members of Cattle Valley having to deal with the twist.

Even though there is plenty of conflict with the three men, especially Brian, Ms. Lynne also shows tender and heartwarming moments between Pete, Brian and Ethan both in bed and out. I know I will be reading this book over and over again and very highly recommend it to everyone.

When I first began to read this story I didn’t think I was going to like it because it was told in the present tense and I was reluctant to venture on. I’m glad I did because after reading the first couple of pages, I was hooked. The story is also told in the first person, which I personally always enjoy.

Abby comes across as a real person and we feel for her need to have a child. The explanation of why she doesn’t want to be in a relationship or go the sperm bank route is credible.

The writer allows us to know Noah more than Rob, and he comes across as the more caring of the two male characters. I don’t know if the writer intended it this way but I felt very the very beginning that Noah just didn’t want to father Abby’s baby, but somewhere deep inside he wanted to be a father too. And I also sensed he had feelings for Abby.

The sex is very hot and frequent. Sometimes the things Abby and the two male characters say to one another during sex gets repetitive. I shouldn’t give too much away but let’s just say there’s a very hot ménage nestled in this story.

I didn’t know whether to expect a happy ending for Abby but let’s just say the conclusion did satisfy me. The length was also perfect for this type of story.

If you’re looking for a smoldering hot story, but not necessarily a romance, this might be for you.

Anna McCarthy is a sassy and smart woman. She has the brains to know that these two Aussies are going to be trouble, and takes the necessary steps to head off total disaster. She is strong enough to admit, to herself as well as the men, that she wants what they are offering. I liked her sarcasm and her wit when dealing with Rob, and her passion for Joe was a delight.

Joseph Hudson, or as Rob calls him, Hudo, is smart, talented and successful. But he would have no life if it weren’t for the prodding dares from his best friend. I loved watching him discover love with the Ranger, and gasped when he learned Rob’s terrible secret. Rob Thornton is the daredevil and instigator of this pair, always dreaming up new ways to pull Joe out of his shell. He reaches for everything life can offer, and takes Hudo along with him. I loved his passion for living life full out, no holds barred.

I will say that when Rob’s secret was revealed, it was like a sucker punch to the gut. But Ms. Couper handled it with such grace and style, it soon became evident that there would be some surprises yet to come. The heat level in this was high enough to melt the snow on the mountain these three were on, and I recommend this be read with plenty of cold cloths to wipe away the perspiration.

But under it all, he truly loves Rachel, and wants to be with her. I liked his passion and his determination to change his life once he realized what both he and his sister had done to the life he and Rachel should have been sharing.

I enjoyed this story on many levels. Yes, it is a very hot and sexy story, but there is a poignant thread of love almost lost forever running through it. I also loved Garreth’s methods for dealing with the situation, and how he was able to open Jackson’s eyes to what could be. I laughed, and then I cried at the very touching emotions revealed by the three main characters in this marvelous and passionate story. I only hope that Ms. Dee will soon give us Garreth’s story, after the happy ending of this one.

This is one of the best firefighter stories I’ve ever read. Ms. Moore gives us a real feel for the camaraderie that is between the men in the firehouse. You can feel the sense of respect and family, and when tragedy strikes, you see them all come together in support of their own. There were two big surprises in this one, and both contribute to the very touching and wonderful, and extremely hot, happy ever after. I recommend this to all of you who love their romance on the edge, but be sure to bring the tissues, as this one can really bring on the tears, too.

I found myself falling for the Rogue McTavish because in my book he was not the bad guy everyone made him out to be even though he was a law breaker. Then again, I had to laugh when the lawman Decker came face to face with McTavish and the princess Arianna and things started to heat up.

“The Rogue” was an all around good story and I would recommend it to my friends.

I really don’t think anything could have prepared me for the journey this story took me through, but I would not trade the journey for anything.

It has been a long time since a story evoked such strong emotions from me. I can definitely say that I identified strongest with Caleb and, when he felt betrayed or I felt he was betrayed I was an emotional wreck. I literally was almost in tears when Caleb was upset by Grayson’s and Noel’s actions. The next second I was so angry that I had to stop myself from flinging my Kindle across the room. I had to be satisfied with putting the story down and walking away because I was so upset. I walked away shaking my head wondering why I was so affected by the fact that I thought Caleb was being mistreated. I mean it is just a story right? Luckily for me when I got my feelings back in check I returned to the story to see the happily-ever-after I knew Caleb, as well as Grayson and Noel deserved. While I did feel emotionally attached to Caleb in depths I still don’t quite understand, I still also felt sympathy towards Grayson and Noel. They were all victim of circumstances out of their powers. There was nothing anyone could have done to prevent them for bonding with one another. In the end all three men were able to work out their relationship and make it work for them and seeing them happy made me happy.

The conflict within this story was excellent! These men had piles and piles of odds stacked against them. The premise of the story is based around Caleb and Grayson being driven apart by their alpha status when they were young but that is just were the trouble really begins. Not only does their relationship have obstacles in front of it, but then comes Noel — the mediator sent to help them work out a peace agreement, who further complicates things when he mates with Grayson.

Now all three men have to fight werewolves and whoever else tries to come between their volatile relationship. These numerous conflicts definitely added richness to the story and also incorporated some interesting justice of their own. It also allowed the men to work through the relationship in a way that guaranteed them success. I do not think that the author would have been able to give them a nice tidy ending had these additional threats not been there.

This story really does have everything you can ask for: plot, characterization, conflict, irony, and imagery. Any story that can turn me upside down the way the way this one did deserves a Best Book rating. It is a story that has made its way to my must read again list and I would suggest anyone with a fascination with m/m and shifters to read this story.

The scene changes were a little jumpy in places and I had to go back and re-read a time or two to see if I was in the present or the past but it did not take a way from the story itself.

The sex scenes were hot with twenty years of pent up feelings, but did not go overboard or take away the overall emotional feeling of the plot. They just added spice to the meal. I was disappointed that the book was a short story — I wanted more! — and I would have like to have seen the plot played out more, but other than that, it was well-written and a story I would definitely recommend.

Boys Next Door is worthy of my keeper shelf and a nice addition to my library, something that will be read again some time down the road.
