The story in and of itself isn’t Interview with a Vampire level original (those of my age might remember what a ground-breaking concept Anne Rice’s take on vampires was): shape-shifters or were-creatures are nothing new in Paranormal Romance. Even conflict centered around the social rules of the specific fantasy creatures’ community is not a unique concept. The wonder of this book lies, instead, in the writer’s skill.

The characters come alive on the pages. Each is as rounded and real as you can hope for someone to be without meeting them in the flesh. I can definitely recommend this book to any reader of romantic sci-fi fantasy stories because it has all the best elements to entertain, keep a reader’s interest and a happily-ever-after that really satisfies.

While the sex is super-duper hot and the heroes will make you melt, I had a difficult time investing myself emotionally in Once Bitten. You get glimpses of the pain but as there is so much going on, the internal conflicts seem to take a back seat. From the moment Liza faces Caleb, it’s as if the pain of their past is forgotten. You gain glimpses of her heartache, but ultimately, I found myself wishing for more. Caleb and Zach, however, are extremely hot and captivating, and I enjoyed their quick wit and snappy dialogue. Lovers that are both dominant, they complement one another.

This is a fast-paced read that provides a lot of heat and steamy sex. I recommend Once Bitten to any werewolf fan who likes a bit of flavor and spice with their erotica.

Come prepared with a kicking A/C unit and plenty of ice water – or even better, give this a read in the currently brisk outdoors. You’re going to need something to combat the heat.

The writing, as usual, is fantastic, and ensures the pace doesn’t relent and you’ll read from start to finish. As a reader of the previous works, I was very excited to get my hands on Fallon’s Flame, and can say it didn’t disappoint. Fans of Marie Harte, especially those who enjoy Circ’s, this is a spin-off you don’t want to miss.

But will Eric and Jett forgive her hasty departure from their bed? Can the three lovers find common ground and strive for a happy future together?

Fans of Kelly Jamieson will love 2 Hot 2 Handle. It’s got the same blistering intensity of her previous works, and will leave you totally satisfied.
