When she decides to leave, he offers to walk her home and admits he’s wanted her for a while. Will Paige’s attraction be enough to make her forget about holidays past and consider Christmas with Caden?

Paige hates her annual office Christmas party. Everyone goes to a club and gets completely drunk, then tries to either screw each other silly or pick up random strangers. Totally unprofessional and a pain in the ass, in Paige’s mind. The fact Harry Davis, her boss, and one of her boss’s sons both love such social events doesn’t make working life easier for Paige. But Caden Davis, Harry’s other son, is completely different. He’s sexy in an understated way and far more Paige’s style. They get talking and suddenly the evening of the Christmas party doesn’t seem like something to merely be endured anymore.

This fun short story is full of holiday cheer and a cringe-worthy Christmas party that turns unexpectedly good. I was a little surprised at how quickly things moved between Caden and Paige. There was no middle step or breathing room between Paige fighting off Caden’s brother’s unwanted advances and then Paige and Caden sexy dancing together and getting in the mood. As a reader I felt I needed a bit more time between those two events to get my head around the scenes, especially as they were both emotional scenes but in totally different ways. Having said that, I thought the rest of the story was really well paced. Caden and Paige don’t just jump right into bed, there is some seriously sexy dancing and what I felt was a decent exchange of conversation for two people who already knew each other superficially.

For a very short story I thought this ticked many boxes. Caden and Paige are interesting characters that are well drawn for the small word count. I found the sex scene to be hot and descriptive and although the plot is thin, for such a quickie I can understand how difficult anything more complex would have been. A delicious little bite of a story for when you only have an hour or so to enjoy a quick read.

On the eve of her high school graduation Savannah has a most decadent dream about a man she calls her angel. Everything is perfect and in her dream they make love. Cairn is an incubus and because of a technicality he’s forbidden from any contact with Savannah for five years. When they finally meet again Cairn woos her, gets to know the real Savannah and draws her out of her shell. The passion that ignited between them that first night rekindles and they struggle to make this heat between them work.

This is an interesting short story with a very fast pace. Savannah and Cairn’s relationship is well fleshed out – though the other subplots seem to race along very quickly in the background. While I feel the book could have done with a bit more detail and a slower pace, it’s easy to get caught up in Savannah and Cairn and the magic surrounding them. Both are clearly meant to be and love each other almost from their first meeting, but there are a number of obstacles they both need to conquer before they can get their happy ending.

This is a fun, quick read with a fair bit of spice and magic, excellent for one of those times when you don’t have long to indulge in a bigger story.

Both nursing broken hearts, Dana and Mike meet at a New Year’s Eve Party. When the clock strikes midnight, a tipsy Dana tells Mike her New Year’s wish and that’s to get pregnant.

Mike, after being shot in the line of duty and being dumped by his wife, realizes he wants to be a father. When the two decide to have a baby without any strings attached, things get complicated and after they both realizing they’re falling in love, there’s no turning back.

Wow! A story where a couple has ‘vanilla’ sex, without the added enhancement of whips, belts and bonds, yet still manage to love every moment of the experience! This is simply a good old-fashioned love story and I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end!

The plot seems deceptively simple at first; two heart-heavy individuals, recovering from love’s crippling demise, meet again at a New Years party, where Dana reveals her wish to become a mother. Mike ponders what may be his last and only opportunity to procreate and the next day, offers every delectable inch of him as an alternative to the sperm bank. He wants to be there for the birth, to stay involved in their son or daughter’s future, without any strings attached to Dana. For both, it appears the perfect solution to avoiding the heartache that comes with relationships. But neither has counted on the powerful physical connection from the start, or the feelings and emotions invariably developing as time goes on. And it’s all just divine; Ms Devereaux’ characters are just fabulous. The heated love scenes between her leads were intensely passionate, while almost hilarious and yet so poignant to me, from the point of view, in that they themselves were so blind to its healing and loving power. By the time they realize the dangers, it’s far too late, and protecting their hearts from further involvement, the only viable action left to them. I loved that they were fallible and at times, awkward and uncertain. And I particularly enjoyed the make-out scene in the confined space, where I feel certain, many of us have found it ‘hot’ only because of the passion of the moment.

Handled beautifully by Ms Devereaux, with fabulous side characters that enrich the telling, her story is one that I recommend whole-heartedly, for the sheer enjoyment of it. Definitely inspires me to seek more of her work, past present and future, which I look forward to. If it sounds like your cup of tea, too, don’t miss this memorable, endearing romance, and don’t forget the tissues, as you’ll probably find out you need them!

When she agrees to a fantasy night with a complete stranger, she doesn’t bargain on Andy Bayes stepping in for his baby brother and stealing her heart. Andy’s hot, gorgeous but Hannah is reluctant to risk falling in love again.

However, Andy has other plans for Hannah.

Boy! Talk about moving into the hot sex scenes from the get go — this book will heat your blood up quick and make you wiggle in your seat for sure. Ms. Devereaux wasted no time in diving into the sex via a one-night stand with the wrong guy in the first chapter, which made me think this story would be hot erotica with no romance. However, I was wrong; there was plenty of romance between the two characters even if it moved fast. Thank goodness, I had the fan nearby and was able to turn it on while reading and trying to figure out just where the author was going with the plot.

Because this was a short story I knew things had to move along a little faster than a full length novel and I was enthralled enough to keep reading. As the plot progressed, I was surprised at how enjoyable the story line was and found myself smiling at the secrets hidden and the banter between the two main characters, and was eager to see what would happen next. With all the hot sex, it was hard to put the book down because of the need to see just how Hannah’s fantasy night would turn out.

There were a number of cute sentences but the one I liked the most was: “You’re a criminal. You stole my heart.” which is especially romantic when the hero is a cop trying to get his girl to admit that she loved him to.

“Mistaken Identity” is a very enjoyable short story that will be great on those days when you want a short, smoking hot romance that you can finish in a few hours. Believe me, there are a lot of twists and turns that will pull you in and make you fall in love with the hero and heroine.

A potion to stimulate love. Sounds tricky, but fun to test it out. What happens when the object of your affection is the one working on the potion with you?

I nabbed this story because it looked like a fun read. It turned out I was right. Ms. Monroe’s writing is quick paced and kept me right in my seat. The plot worked because it had plenty of twists I didn’t see coming and yes, I wanted to know how the book ended. The ending was the best part.

Keep in mind, this is a short story. There are parts where it’s a little thin on detail. For the most part, it works. I really didn’t need a bunch of scientific discussion and simply liked the potion was called ‘potion number nine’. I wanted to see what the potion would do. I liked the scene in the elevator. Talk about hot! I steamed up my screen. When you get an erection, the increased blood flow will overnight cialis soft make the sensation of an ejaculation much more intense and satisfying. But despite its hotness, it felt a little too quick. I realize there were some circumstances behind the scene and it does work well, I just wanted more from it. I also thought the ending came a bit too abruptly. I liked the characters and wanted to know what would happen from there.

Ms. Monroe does write sexy heroes. Jericho is one for the books (pardon the pun). He’s got an original name that stuck with me after the book closed and I could picture him in my mind from the author’s descriptions. This story is mainly told from the heroine’s point of view, so if I had a qualm about Jericho, it was that I wanted to know what he was thinking more often.

Leah, the heroine, was a perfect addition to the story. I knew precisely what she thought throughout the book and loved her tentative attitude with Jericho—she didn’t want to ruin a good, solid working relationship (even if it was more or less in silence). The interplay between them made me smile.

If you want a book that’s got a balance of heart and heat, then you need to read Chemical Love. I give this book 3 cherries.

Lieutenant Shepherd, or ‘Shep’, isn’t just another ‘dick’ with a badge – he’s a werewolf. And Gabrielle… well, she’s not just another witch. The two together bring a whole new meaning to power couple.

I liked this, and felt it added much to the story.

The only problem I saw was — this story was simply not long enough. I don’t want to give away too much, however, the story touched on so many different paranormal aspects – witches, shifters, werewolves, etc. – that it really didn’t need to stretch further than that, however, add in Greek Mythology and ‘Olympus’ references and it seems cluttered. The portions that focused on witches and their craft were beautifully written and well researched.

As for the hero – I’m a sucker for hot-wolf male leads and Shep does not disappoint. I found myself wanting more of him and his dark, brooding, self-confident side. Shep’s back-story and his seemingly constant denial of his true nature seemed a bit out of nowhere, but it did not detract from the overall flow of the plot.

Blood of the Moon is a short story, but packs a lot of larger than life characters into its plot and subplots. I think Ms. O’Donnell had an interesting premise and storyline, but I really would’ve liked to see the story be longer considering the gravity of the characters. Otherwise, the story is well written, the dialog is well thought out and the tension between Shep and Gabe makes you want to read the next page to see if either of them will give in and stop being so stubborn.
