Only Liz discovers the concert delivered far more than she’d bargained for.

This is a fun and sexy short story. I found Liz’s voice to be modern and relatable and I enjoyed this quick snapshot into her world, being able to witness the paranormal activity and realities of the true world hidden to most people, but without any glamour or magic being able to affect her. I was pleased that Liz managed to get herself – and her friend – out of the concert. Even though the seductive spells didn’t work on her, I realise it could have been quite easy for Liz to go along with the flow, since everyone else was getting it on.

I feel the intimacy of the Siren coming after Liz after the concert – and away from the spell and magic – really helped me appreciate their sex a lot more. I had to laugh at the ending though – I hadn’t expected it at all and thoroughly appreciated the slightly off-centre solution to Liz’s problems. With a fun, Happy For Now ending I feel this could be a great prequel or teaser before a full length novel – one I’d happily read.

Fun and fast-paced with a good dash of magic and mayhem, this short story is sure to appeal to plenty of readers.

Simon had been working down in Antarctica for quite a while, but never had he experienced a crush as serious as his feelings for Asher. And while the next four months of winter-over extended out before him, Simon knew it could be either the hottest and best time of his life, or awkward and miserable if Asher wasn’t interested. Can the two men find common ground at the bottom of the world?

I have to admit, I love a good Antarctica story. I’m a total sucker for these and I couldn’t help myself – I needed to read this. I’m really glad I gave this a go – funny, light and with a number of interesting characters this was a good short read. I really liked how Simon and Asher didn’t just take one glance at each other and hop into bed. That would have been a simple and easy way to get them together since the icy and isolated setting meant neither man was spoiled for choice of romantic partners. So the fact that both men – in their own ways – had to work to connect and even form a relationship meant both that I was more invested in them as a couple but also I appreciated it a lot more when I could see them get to know each other and find their spark together.

Readers looking for an intense and highly erotic M/M might not find this quite suits what they’re after. While there is certainly hot sex, I personally found most of the focus of the book was on the deep and emotional relationship growing and flourishing between the two men. Readers who like a whole load of intimacy and emotional connections with their romance should find this really satisfies. I loved how while Simon had a load of intensely erotic fantasies about the dead-sexy Asher, the reality was even better – a kind, caring and sweet guy who wanted Simon for many reasons and not just for the chemistry burning between them in the bedroom.

Fun, interesting and sexy I found this to be a great book with loads to recommend it. With interesting main and secondary characters, a great and solid plot and plenty of deliciously ice-melting sex this was a good read and an author I shall enjoy checking out again in the near future.

Kim and Christopher were childhood sweethearts who had mostly made good. With a teenager and a comfortable life the only thing Kim wants is a dream house for them to make their home. But money is super tight and Kim is worried that for the first time maybe she and Christopher aren’t exactly on the same page.

This is a slightly bittersweet – but I felt very realistic – short story. Even when two people love each other very much, life doesn’t always go as you expect it to and that was what I felt reading this story. Kim and Christopher are both completely normal and very relatable characters. I felt like they loved each other very much but had somewhat lost touch with each other over the course of almost fifteen years of being together.

Readers looking for a happy or blissful story probably won’t find that here. While realistic and understandable, I felt the ending wasn’t what I was expecting from a romance novel. Similarly there was no “romance” aspect really to my mind. While Kim and Christopher were a solid and well-established couple, I felt this story focused more on their relationship and expectations – rather than any chemistry or romance as such between them. I’m not sure this style of story will appeal to readers looking for something more romantic or gentler. I have to admit though, I found it very fresh and interesting to see how Kim and Christopher compromised and worked through the bump in their marriage. It was a good reminder that sometimes couples have to make hard sacrifices when things get tough.

Short and a bittersweet reminder of how not all romances are fairy tales – I found this to be a good short story.

Christopher had been in Lancaster only a short time and was having trouble finding a job until the library suddenly needed some help. Thrilled, Christopher has no idea just how much work he’s in for. With the funding to the library being threatened and unsavory people wanting to raze the site for the land value, Christopher knows he needs all the help he can get.

I really loved this short story. Despite the small number of pages I found the characters – Christopher and Miles in particular, but even the small cast of secondary characters – all vibrant and realistic, logically and well drawn. I found in just a few sentences the author managed to convey each character with their own sense of self and particularly with Christopher I found their voices just spoke to me and I was eager to ride along and see what happened next.

The plot isn’t particularly convoluted, but rehabbing and modernizing an older, small town library was something I feel most readers can both identify with and envisage. This helped me focus even more on the characters and enjoy their interactions, because all the other plot going on was logical and I didn’t need to think about it too much.

The romance between Christopher and Miles bloomed slow enough that I found it believable – but was fast enough that they made proper head way in the short story. There is only one very brief scene of intimacy but the chemistry and attraction between Christopher and Miles fairly sings from the pages so I feel only readers looking for a highly explicit and strongly erotic take will feel this is a little too tame for their tastes.

Fun and lighthearted with a really good, small-town feeling I loved this story and am eager to try more from the series.

Widow Eleanor Charter knows one thing—she does not want to marry again. Especially not to someone forceful and dominant. So why is Theo Moncur, the Earl of Glensmoor interested in her? As far as she is concerned any man who considers himself dominant, whether he is or not, will play no part in her life. She will be in charge of her own life.

Dominant Theo doesn’t have marriage on his mind. Having given his mistress her congé, his growing attraction toward Eleanor makes him wonder if she would fill that place. He sees something in her that appeals. The lady would be a perfect submissive—not that she agrees. However, the more he gets to know her, the more he understands she is the only lady for him. Now all he has to do is persuade Eleanor to agree.

Theodore, Earl of Glensmoor, was a confirmed rake and Dominant. Knowing that soon he would have to settle down and likely wed, he promised his Godmother that he would attend a number of the deadly boring – but necessary – social engagements men of his status were obliged to attend. While ducking his ex-paramour, Theo couldn’t suppress his intrigue by Lady Eleanor – an attractive and curious young woman widowed after only four months of marriage. Theo might be seeking very specific things in a woman, but Lady Eleanor captures his attention in a manner he simply can’t deny.

I admit I can’t recall having ever read a Regency story with a Dom as the hero – so this story grabbed my attention from the beginning. I was really pleased, therefore, to discover this short story blended the two genres really well. With the romantic history and lavish setting of the Regency era and the slightly edgy modern aspect of a BDSM style of story I thought this book blended to two elements really well. Lady Eleanor was not a simpering young miss – and while classified as a rake, Theo was not just some bored man trapped by his own dalliances. Theo was intrigued by Eleanor and wanted her and was determined to pursue and attract her. Eleanor, for her own part, was determined to retain her independence and was very well-matched to him in my opinion.

Given the shortness of the story I can’t really blame the author for the quick build up between the two characters – there just wasn’t room for a slower move to the bedroom or more of a chance for me as a reader to get to know the characters. While this really did feel a bit like a hasty roll in bed – a “happy for now” style of whirlwind romance and not something that could necessarily last the distance of time – with so few pages I can’t see how their relationship could have been given more depth in the quick setting. I found the sex to be hot and only a very little bit kinky but feel it should be satisfying to many readers.

An interesting blend of Regency historical and BDSM I found this to be a fun and different style of short story.

When Kathleen and Carter meet, it’s intrigue at first sight, and they awaken from emotional exile. A turn of events finds her spontaneously joining him on his working ranch. Despite being really hard work, she’s blissfully happy—and the fringe benefits aren’t too shabby either.

Carter can’t believe his luck. He desperately needed a housekeeper, not that he welcomed this amazing woman into his home for that reason. He can cope with her bond with her daughter, no matter how it forces him to remember his lost young son. And he can’t give her his heart, but what he can give is surely enough.

She’s done waiting. She deserves more—and so does he.

Carter worked himself to the bone to keep his ranch afloat and surviving. He had a load of problems – but his biggest one was his inability to find a good housekeeper to cook, clean and keep his employees comfortable. Kathleen is in her forties and a sturdy, mature woman. When she and a colleague come to Carter’s town to oversee a charity auction and audit the bids Kathleen and Carter are both surprised by how well and easily they click together. What stars as a weekend of fooling around quickly turns into something far more deep and serious.

I really enjoyed this story. I found both Carter and Kathleen to be relatable and empathetic characters. Both are mature (in their forties) and long past that first blush of romantic love, and each have lived a rich and full life so far. With history and baggage, they’ve both made peace with who and where they are in their respective lives, and while Carter in particular knows it’s time he move on and open his heart again, they’re both not in a rush to make silly mistakes. I have to admit I loved how sensible both Carter and Kathleen are. I could really relate to them both and completely understood their feelings and actions. I was immediately drawn into the story because I wanted to read and enjoy every word – at no stage did I need to skip ahead a few sentences when one or the other of them said something silly or that made me want to roll my eyes.

With a bunch of interesting (and personally I often found them humorous) secondary characters even though this story really does mainly focus on Carter and Kathleen, it’s clear they’re not isolated or living too far in seclusion. There’s a feeling of community around them and the ranch-hands in particular make for a richer and more complex setting than just a man and a woman falling in love with each other on a working ranch. While the romance between Carter and Kathleen is explicit I was please, personally, that the sex didn’t over-power the story. It’s there, and certainly steamy enough to raise a few eyebrows I’m sure, but it was the day-to-day aspects between the couple that helped me see and believe in their love. This wasn’t some sexy fling of a weekend that somehow grew into more, I loved how the author showed this was two compatible people who met by chance and allowed themselves the opportunity to get to know each other – in all ways – and discovered a lovely, sweet and blossoming relationship.

In many ways this was my favourite style of story – with two interesting and completely relatable characters, progressed in their lives but still able to make changes and be excited about the future. The pace of the romance is slow enough for me to keep up with it and believe in the strength of it, but fast enough – and steamy enough – that I didn’t feel bored or like things were dragging. Best of all this is a story about love and romance and two people making each other happy, and I really loved it. I’d highly recommend this story and can’t wait to go back and read it all over again.

The instant attraction Michael feels toward his new Dominant, Mr. Johns only grows stronger each day. Spending time together in the dungeon is always a fun, unique, and unpredictable experience. Only Mr. Johns can take him to places he’s never known existed. The pleasures of pain and the highs of sub-space were once unimaginable, but now Mr. Johns truly owns him body and soul.

For Michael the most startling emotion is the fear he feels when he’s earned a punishment. Although punishment is meant to be feared, Michael is more afraid of being dismissed. He’s certain each mistake is a step closer to being sent away. No punishment could ever hurt as much as Mr. Johns giving up on him.

Is it possible for Mr. Johns to have any real feelings for Michael, or is has Michael set himself up to be hurt worse than ever before?

Michael was certain he wanted to be a full-time submissive in a committed relationship. When he’s taken in by Mr. Johns there is a lot to learn in a very short time-frame. Each of them willingly go into a contract together, but what happens when their willingness deepens to stronger emotions and they each want more?

I found this to be an interesting and quite deeply plotted BDSM story. I was intrigued – but surprised – when early on in the story as Michael and Mr. Johns went into the complexities of their contract together the details were listed and included. I’ve read a number of BDSM stories and while quite a few of them include contracts. I personally found it unusual – though insightful – for the terms and conditions to actually be presented to the reader could follow along precisely instead of having it alluded to or described vaguely. The sex is hot and fairly kinky. Michael and Mr. Johns are both clearly excited by each other and interested – but I certainly felt this story erred more on the side of erotic – rather than romance. The two men have feelings for each other and care about each other, but for quite some time into the story they are working out the boundaries and their feelings for each other – so I didn’t feel this was a strongly romance story, not in the more usual sense.

While it’s made crystal clear that Michael is willingly entering the relationship, at time I felt – particularly in the beginning – that Michael was merely going along with some things simply to not cause waves or problems. He wanted the relationship and was attracted and curious by Mr. Johns, but there was a lot of official stuff (ie contracts, rules, paperwork etc) sorted out right at the very beginning and while I never once felt Michael wanted to back out or change his mind, I did feel a flutter of worry a time or two that Michael had questions or hadn’t completely assimilated everything that was happening. And it all did occur very fast. Mr. Johns multiple times checked that Michael was on board – this was not a feeling or belief that as Dominant Mr. Johns was taking advantage or pushing Michael too far too fast, but I did think in a few places maybe Michael wasn’t as certain as he thought he was. I felt this added a good bit of tension into the plot and story itself, but it made me nervous at the same time. I’m not certain all readers will enjoy the speed with which Michael and Mr. Johns get together and solidify their contract together.

This story seemed extremely realistic to me – almost like a sneak-peek at what a real-life, contracted life as a submissive in a formal BDSM relationship would be like. While there is certainly tenderness and strong emotions between Michael and Mr. Johns this wasn’t what I could consider a traditional romance story in that many of the minute details of a BDSM relationship were carefully gone over and explained in detail.

An interesting and, for me, an eye-opening insight into a more formalized, contracted BDSM relationship, this is a great story and one I feel will appeal to many readers interested in the BDSM lifestyle.

However, when their mutual past comes to light and everything she’s fought for during the last eight years is jeopardized, will she close herself off again or will she give love an opportunity?

Marcus had known Gabi many years ago. When he bumps into her at a BDSM club he finds that the young, vulnerable woman he had known had grown up into a sleek and savvy adult. Gabi was open to trying pretty much anything, but she never went back to the same Dom more than once. Marcus was determined to be the one to change that.

This is a sexy and interesting short story. I enjoyed how Gabi and Marcus had a history but that instead of it being weighty and acting like baggage between them it acted more like incentive for Marcus to be possessive and protective of Gabi. The plot between them felt fresh to me and not contrived – I liked how Gabi took a while to recognize Marcus from their short interaction a number of years ago as this added a bit of tension to the plot that gave it a boost to my mind.

There’s a lot of sizzle between Gabi and Marcus. Personally, I found the tug of control between them – Marcus being a Dominant and Gabi being very well-versed in the lifestyle and trapping of the BDSM world – interesting and an excellent plot throughout the whole story. The depth of Gabi’s knowledge though, and her experience in knowing exactly how to (nicely) manipulate Doms to do what she wants without making it appear so might not be a comfortable read for everyone. I enjoyed this very different viewpoint and enjoyed the story for it – but Gabi is not at all like your average submissive and the tension and struggle between her and Marcus mightn’t be to everyone’s tastes.

I also personally really enjoyed that they didn’t jump right into bed. A very large part of Gabi’s power was her willingness to submit in scenes and use her body to get what she wanted. Note Gabi didn’t often use her body sexually, but the power and pull of her submission and allure to men. Had she and Marcus jumped quickly into bed I feel Gabi could have easily buttonholed Marcus in with all the other Doms she’d been with and their relationship wouldn’t have ever got off the ground in a realistic manner. So I was glad that while there was plenty of sexual chemistry and tension, it was only in the latter half of the story that they became intimate. The sex, when they got there, was hot and explicit and I felt just kinky enough to appeal to readers who enjoy some BDSM in their erotica.

A different and interesting read, I enjoyed this story.

While the situation Beth finds herself in – owing a mob boss fifty thousand dollars carried on from her father’s previous debt – is a little over-the-top, I can understand how things like this do happen and the quick and crazy way her life spirals out of her control is also well-written and logical. I felt really bad for Beth, struggling to take control of her life and doing the best she can.

I found Beth’s lack of freak-out over being told about David’s wolf a little unrealistic – but in the short length of the story I could see how a long, drawn out and slow realization would have over-taken the story and not left room for the plot or much of the romance. I was also a little disappointed that the story seemed to end very suddenly, and while not a cliff-hanger, I was definitely left with a feeling of “wait a minute, what happens next?”. I feel the best advice I can give readers is to grab a drink, sit back and just enjoy the ride – don’t think too hard about it. I honestly found the writing interesting and well-paced, fast enough that I didn’t feel the need to skip pages to hurry the action along, but slow enough that I didn’t feel David and Beth fell into the “insta-love” trap a lot of paranormal stories do where simply knowing they’re mates means logic, reason and chemistry aren’t required.

Overall I thought David and Beth were two rational characters who found themselves in an extra-ordinary circumstance and did the best they could. Best of all they had some sizzling chemistry and despite it being “against the rules” of David’s wolf-shifter pack, they finished with a happy ending.
