Geeky math genius Carolyn Hardy has lived a quiet, secluded life. She’s never dated anyone who could float her boat–and has no idea how to meet sexy and sophisticated men. When she finally admits her desire for incredible sex and romance, her confession leads her to Fantasy, a secret and sophisticated sex club.

Martin Fuller has seen it all, done it all. Edgy sex partners haven’t been exciting enough, and he’s worried what will be next. Then, he meets sweet Carolyn and all bets are off.

They both understand the rules: Fantasy is for fun, commitment-free sex. Encounters are anonymous, consensual and focused on pleasure. A relationship is not on the table. Falling in love is the last thing on their minds.

Carolyn is getting her legs waxed when her friend Eddie recommends a very special business for her. With very little dating experience, Carolyn is finally ready for the man of her dreams to come into her life. And Eddie recommends Fantasy Inc to do the job for her. A very selective, private club where any sexual fantasy can be fulfilled safely and best of all – anonymously. When Carolyn met Martin, she knew he was the man she’d been secretly waiting for. Someone exactly like him.

This is a sexy, hot read that I found to be page-turning. I love the idea of a sex club where all tastes are catered to and people can act out their various fantasies. I was a little dubious at first whether Martin was maybe a little too jaded for Carolyn, but I was delighted to find myself proven wrong. I was a bit sad to find Carolyn suffered from one of the romance heroine cliché’s – that of the virgin instantly turning into a nymphomaniac – but I have to admit with a stud like Martin it would be hard for any girl to keep her hands to herself. I was also slightly disappointed at Carolyn’s attack of nerves when the relationship started to turn serious. I felt that a strong female character willing to go to a sex club to meet a man and lose her virginity was nowhere to be found when it came to having an adult relationship outside the safety of the club walls. I understood her fears and felt the author did an excellent job of explaining her mindset, but that didn’t stop me wanting to shake some sense into her.

I did, however, love the chemistry between Martin and Carolyn – and I loved Martin’s parents, his mother especially. The sex scenes were deliciously erotic and full of sizzle. I also found the ending deeply satisfying as a romance reader. I’d particularly recommend this book for readers who love to get lost in the fantasy, where anything is possible and even a shy, brainy girl can hook the sexy, swarthy hero. A fun and sexy romp I greatly enjoyed.

Jenn never dreamed she’d have to move back home. Little did she know that a man from her past would transform her future…

There’s no place like home, especially when running from a bad break up. Jenn returns to her small hometown to grieve her latest relationship, but sparks fly as she reconnects with the hometown hunk in her snowy Sierra Mountains. Jenn isn’t sure if Danny, the geeky kid next door now turned handsome Army medic, is as great as he seems. No one can be this kind, this playful, this sexy…

Jenn has returned to her hometown after a devastating break up of her relationship. Trying to juggle the difficulty of being home and also mend her broken heart, Jenn’s having a rough time of it. Her parents own the local General Store and Jenn helps out delivering some of the groceries before a big storm. Danny is an old friend, and when Jenn finds herself stuck in the snow with a storm blowing, coming back home no longer seems like such a silly idea.

This is a very short, lovely story. I loved the small-town feel to it and the tender teasing between Danny and Jenn was very sweet. The sex scene was brief but intense and not overly graphic, so those not used to incredibly specific erotica should find this still quite palatable to read. As this is only part 1, much of the plot is still left hanging. I found myself with a number of questions, who was in the Lexus car? What happens next with Jenn and Danny. But at the end there’s a note from the author stating that Parts 2 and 3 were available. This – I would hope – should answer many of the questions left hanging.

Readers looking for a very quick, sensual read should find this satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed both Danny and Jenn’s characters and enjoyed the backdrop feel of a small country town. As an opening to Jenn and Danny’s relationship I found this a great beginning and am interested to read more.

Steve Petersen has been hoping his homosexual feelings are “just a phase.” But as a nineteen-year-old embarking on a two-year Mormon mission in South America, he realizes those feelings are still there, and that he’s attracted to another missionary — the companion he’s been assigned to be with twenty-four hours a day. Set in 1972, less than three years after Stonewall, these missionaries have been taught by their church that homosexuality is an abomination, and those who suffer from those tendencies must repent. Worse, they’re told that with God’s help, fervent prayer, and mind over matter, they can become heterosexuals. Steve’s conflict is real and heart-wrenching; he’s an official representative of his church, but he’s falling in love with his companion. Can he reconcile his church doctrine and the feelings in his heart?

Steve was nineteen in 1971 and a devout Mormon. That summer after finishing high school he studied hard in anticipation of leaving on a Mormon mission. Sent into a new country for his mission and assigned to his new partner/companion, Steve (Elder Peterson) was thrilled to find his partner was Elder Evans. Steve knew Randall from high school. Randall had been a few years ahead of him and very easy on the eye. Missionary life is a lot harder than Steve ever expected, and soon his need for Randall has become one of the most important things in his life.

This is a well written story, akin to a confessional or short biographical tale. Told in the first person, I found myself intrigued by the Mormon lifestyle Steve lived. On a mission in Columbia, in a strange country and feeling very isolated I understood a lot of the problems Steve found himself facing. His sexual attraction to Randall was a slow burn, growing and intensifying over time and feeling quite realistic. The strict and very strong religious beliefs, though, make me think this book definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. The emotions are raw though and I found them very well written.

I really felt for Steve as he tried to sort through his homosexual thoughts and feelings. Particularly given the “historical” (1970s) time setting I can understand how confusing, taboo and difficult life must have felt for Steve. I connected with his character – despite knowing next to nothing about the Mormon religion. There is a non-penetrative sex scene near the middle and finally toward the end a proper, erotic sex scene that is graphic and has a very long lead-up to it. I found it emotional and explicit though very tastefully written. This isn’t a “usual” erotic romance story, but more a coming of age style story about one man discovering his sexuality and his true self in relation to his Mormon religious beliefs. Readers looking for a more regular “guy meets guy and hits it off” story mightn’t find what they’re looking for here, I still am glad to have read this story. It opened a window into a religion and lifestyle I don’t know much about and while I didn’t find it as titillating as some others might, I nevertheless don’t feel my time was wasted.

Well written and interesting, this book will not be every readers cup of tea. But for readers who enjoy coming of age style stories or who are curious about the Mormon religion and workings and don’t mind M/M relationships this might be an interesting book to try.

Abandoned by his partner in the wilds of Alaska, Peter is pretty much at the end of his rope. He has a cabin falling down around his ears, two young babies to care for, and too much alone time to think about his situation. It’s enough to make a man rethink wanting to be a dad.

Park Ranger Chad thinks Peter could use some help, especially when fire and weather warnings make him wonder if Peter’s little cabin is going to make it through the year. When he takes Peter and the babies in, he finds out that the attraction the two of them felt on their first meeting has the potential to be a lot more. Can he convince Peter that they can do more than keep each other warm?

Single dad Peter has a steep learning curve with twin babies Ellen and Daniel. Chad is the local ranger and more than a little socially rusty. But Peter and Chad hit it off instantly, and both enjoy the other’s company. Chad is excellent with the babies, and Peter hasn’t had such interesting and varied conversations in forever. The fact they’re both a little lonely in the large Alaskan forest only adds spice to their friendship. But everyone struggles with those first steps, both the babies needing theirs, and Chad and Peter taking the first wobbly steps in their new relationship.

I found this to be a warm and romantic M/M. I really loved how the babies weren’t just some token secondary characters, brought out at the start and end but largely sidelined for Chad and Peter’s growing relationship. Both Ellen and Daniel were front and center throughout the whole story and pivotal at many points. So often characters (or pets!) that are introduced as important are pushed back when the relationship/erotic moments start to heat up. I really enjoyed how the author balanced the babies with Peter and his growing relationship with Chad. I felt the balance was well written and still believable.

I was a little surprised at how fast the relationship grew serious between Chad and Peter. Even after careful thought I can’t put my finger on why I felt they became too close too quickly, but that was the feeling I ended up with while reading. It just didn’t seem too realistic that after just a few meetings Peter and the babies would be moving in with Chad. There were plenty of external reasons – their cabin, the changing weather, and other factors – but somehow it just seemed a little too fast for a new dad to move in with his brand new lover and his two babies. It didn’t quite gel with me. That said, the chemistry and deep emotions between Chad and Peter really did read as real and serious, I found myself completely besotted with both men and emotionally attached to their relationship.

I also really enjoyed how we got to see not just the start of Chad and Peter’s relationship, but how the author took us through almost their entire first year. While they became serious very fast, I loved seeing how they continued to flourish and grow together as their bond became stronger and as the twins started to grow up into toddlers. This is a lovely and emotional story of a family coming together and growing into a strong, secure unit. There is nothing I found particularly envelope pushing in it, I think this story will appeal to a wide range of readers and is an excellent, romantic and erotic story. I’d strongly recommend it for all readers of M/M and even those who prefer an older-style, more sensual and character-driven storyline. Chad and Peter’s characters stayed with me long after finishing it and I know it will go onto my keeper shelf and be reread many times in the future. A strong, romantic and emotional story I can heartily recommend for everyone.

Wyatt’s first album launched him into country music stardom, a shocking success of gay-country. But now he has to record his second album, and all efforts are coming up blank. Bryce has been in love with Wyatt for a long time, but everyone knows he’s a notorious player, there and gone again as soon as he’s gotten what he wants. Then Wyatt unexpectedly admits his feelings, and Bryce thinks maybe he’s been wrong this whole. But when he wakes up the next morning, Wyatt is gone.

Wyatt has been struggling. Day after day he goes to the studio, but accomplishes nothing. His album wasn’t even close to finished. There were a few great songs – maybe even hits – but he’s been struck by writers block and has no inspiration. He needed an optimistic song, something besides the usual lost my dog/truck/woman. Gay country music might be a niche, but he desperately wanted to fill the void. But that meant writing something amazing, and Wyatt is coming up dry. And then Bryce walked back into his life and things finally begin to turn around.

This is a fun short story, one that I really enjoyed. I found myself pleasantly surprised by the small turns in the plot, ones I didn’t find at all clichés but rather refreshingly different. I also strongly sympathized with Wyatt. He wanted to avoid the usual route most country artists take, and is determined to make something meaningful and still his own. Bryce is the perfect counterpart for him. Bryce is happy to push Wyatt out of his comfort zone and get him thinking along different lines. I think it’s exactly what both men need and was thrilled at how great they came together.

There’s a very sensual M/M love scene. I found it smoking hot, but not outrageous or offensive. I also enjoyed the build up to it – Wyatt and Bryce didn’t just hop into bed with each other. Plenty of ground work is laid out beforehand. I was a little disappointed with Bryce and Wyatt’s reactions after the sensual scene – that alone was the only part of the story I felt clichéd and a let-down, but I did find the resolution satisfying and the happy ending is always a bonus in my eyes.

A strong M/M short story that I’d recommend to other readers.

The week before an important philosophy conference, Kenneth is struggling to finish both the last chapter of his book and the paper he’s writing for the event. His efforts are thwarted by a leaky faucet—and his life as a whole is turned upside down by the plumber who shows up to fix it.

Kenneth is steeped in his routines: work, writing his philosophy book and his daily walks. He’s supposed to be writing the last chapter of his book, but finds himself strangely reluctant. He loves his life, his routine, and this last chapter feels somewhat like the beginning of the end. Procrastinating, he decides to call a plumber to fix a leaky faucet. Mark takes Kenneth’s breath away and suddenly Plato – and many of his teachings – have new life breathed into them.

I found this book started a little slow, but once the groundwork was laid out I was happily swept up into the story. Kenneth’s first ever paper that he showed to his favourite professor was about Plato’s theory of love and soul mates – that the gods separated the animal’s in half, so that each soul mate used to actually be two halves of the one whole. After calling Mark in to fix a drip, Kenneth suddenly has a greater appreciation for the theory and his long-dormant paper. When the leak proves to be stubborn, the two men have the time and space to talk. Kenneth is pleased to find Mark knows a bit about philosophy, and Mark learns that Kenneth has a few surprises up his sleeve.

While I found the pace of this story slightly slow, I enjoyed the fact there was plenty of space for the men to get to know each other. I think this more leisurely pace will appeal to readers who are new to the M/M genre or not ready for the steamier, faster paced, more erotic stories. I feel this is a great introduction to how strong but still sensual M/M romance can be. While there is a consummation scene, it’s not explicit and instead largely alluded to – instead of described in detail. I enjoyed how the author left much of the scene to my imagination and found the chemistry between the two men very steamy.

A thoughtful, deep story that I found myself drawn into and really enjoyed.

Cory is a consummate professional though, and so Elliot keeps his thoughts to himself. Cory invites Elliot out to dinner after the shoot ends for the day, and after a bit of persuading, Elliot finally finds himself agreeing. Is there more to the beautiful model than first meets the eye?

This is a fun short story. I love the sharp interactions between Cory and Elliot. I enjoyed how both men are strong characters who didn’t back down. Cory is determined to get to know Elliot better, and Elliot is determined to not give in to his crush on Cory. One memorable dinner will have them both discovering more about each other than they could have dreamed possible, and changing their relationship – personal and professional – forever.

I found the pace of this story really great. The author keeps Cory and Elliot moving forward, I didn’t think they lagged at all, but there’s no rush. This isn’t a “they meet and immediately have sex” style of story, but more in depth. I loved watching Cory and Elliot fence with each other (figuratively) and verbally spar. Evenly matched, the more I watched them speak and get to know each other, the better matched I found them each to be. When they finally culminated all that electric, sexual tension, I thought it was a wonderful thing to behold. A strongly passionate M/M love scene, I was thrilled when they finally came together. Add in a deliciously happy ending and I really loved this story. I will definitely be giving it more than a few re-reads. Recommended.

Hot, kinky, uncomfortable sex where all the power is given to Laska – exactly how the three of them like it. But Laska enjoys turning the two men’s worlds upside down, and while he might be down, he’s far from being out.

This is a short but smoking hot read. I really enjoyed how the author showed us how three strong, forceful sports men could turn so much testosterone, anger and fear into a sensual but still masculine menage. None of the men backed down, they all remained strong characters, but the angry “hate sex” actually held a wealth of emotion and subtle undertones. I loved how the author showed despite the clear dominance and submission roles the character plays, there’s so much more under the surface. And when strong, alpha men come together with so much heat and affection, there’s nothing quite as delicious to my mind.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, so much more than just a simple menage. There are many undertones to it and while I found the ending satisfying, it’s a Happy For Now finish, questions about the future are left unanswered. The sex ranges from the hard and hot to the soft and gentle, like a wonderful piece of music. I found myself breathless by the end, caught up in the story and eager for more. A delightfully dark and hot read. Recommended.

Brad loves learning, and always eager for new experiences. Dill can certainly give him that and more.

This is a fun, sharp read. I found myself almost immediately liking both Dill and Brad. I love Sean Michael’s writing style, and almost always fall into his stories within the first few pages. This was no exception. I really enjoyed how open to exploring Brad was. While he wasn’t interested in BDSM per se – he had an insatiable curiosity and loved learning all sorts of things. Dill uses this hunger for knowledge to draw Brad in, with wonderful results. I found Brad endearing – and laughed aloud at some of his thoughts and comments, like wanting some time to read up and research various sex toys and other items. Dill was also incredibly patient, and that was exactly what Brad needed.

While I’ve only read a few other of the Hammer books in this series, this stands very well on its own. The club and some of the other members we briefly met are well explained and I feel anyone could pick this up as a stand alone novel and not miss a thing. There is plenty of kink in this lovely novel (rimming, nipple play and other BDSM playing) but I really loved how so much more of the book was about two men learning about each other and starting a deep and loving relationship. There’s fun times with them cooking, having coffee, just getting to know each other outside the bedroom. While the sex is smoking hot and prolific, it’s not just a number of bedroom scenes strung together. Brad and Dill get to know each other on every level – and their relationship is romantic, emotional and far more than just excellent sex. The author has an amazing talent to mesh these two aspects together and making a novel that has the best of both worlds.

I found this to be an amazing M/M full of kink, humour and excellent characters. Readers don’t need to be familiar with the other Hammer novels, and I would heartily recommend this novel. I loved the characters and found myself eagerly turning the pages late into the night. A wonderful tale I will happily reread many times in the future.

Burned-out executive Matthew Turner is more than ready for some R & R at a rented cabin on a solitary beach. The only thing missing is the woman of his dreams, though he doubts the kind of woman he wants really exists. Until she shows up on the moonlit shore—mysterious, beautiful, naked, and more than willing to make all his fantasies come true.

Marina has yearned for a man like Matthew. Now that she has him, she has one chance to prove herself, and she’ll do whatever it takes to bring him pleasure. Besides, his pleasure is her pleasure. But can she convince him to believe in the magic between them, or will he chalk up their encounter to a little moonlight madness?

Matthew is ready and raring to enjoy his two weeks off at the beach. He’s got the car packed. Some books, some bourbon and all the clear, fresh sea air he could possibly need. The only thing Matthew figures is missing is a hot woman to join him in some mind-blowing sexual antics. It’s been far too long for him. Marina has been secretly watching Matthew pleasure himself since he arrived at the holiday cabin. Matthew is more than up for some guilt free stress, and Marina is a woman who knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it.

This is a fun romp of a story. In many ways a classical holiday romance. I found Marina to be a little mysterious. This story is largely told from Matthew’s point of view and so I didn’t find Marina as easy to understand as the usual heroine. Matthew, however, is the typical male. He’s eager for plenty of sex, and looking to relax and have a good time. While I instantly enjoyed his character, I found him two dimensional in some ways. I could completely understand his desire for a quiet beach, plenty of alcohol and a willing, sexually adventurous woman, but when he began to interact with Marina I wondered why he wasn’t interested in more. He didn’t want to know anything about her initially. A strange woman pops up almost literally out of nowhere, and he didn’t show any curiosity about her, where she lived or worked, whether she was in a relationship with anyone or a single mother just passing by. Matthew’s mind immediately turned to sex and there was very little attempt to get to know Marina outside this sexual context until well past their initial meeting. For an erotic short story I would expect some corners to be cut – to focus on the sex if nothing else – but usually there is at least a pretence of a getting to know you stage. Matthew – and Marina too – cut immediately past this, and I found here that it made them seem less real, more difficult for me to relate to, because of this.

I found this to be a highly sexual, fun read. There is plenty of sexy talk and chemistry and more than enough variety of sex to keep a reader turning the pages. While I was disappointed there didn’t seem to be much between Matthew and Marina outside the bedroom there was no denying the intensity of their connecting within the sheets. Readers looking for a steamy, quick read might enjoy this naughty tale.
