This is an interesting book with a strong sub-plot interweaving the blossoming romance between Farin and Steve. I really enjoyed how this wasn’t just a boy-meets-boy style of story. Steve has the final court meeting and there’s a rampant group of “Heteros for Cedarwood” bigots running around town throwing coffee on gays, graffitting property and generally spouting off hate-filled speeches. I was a little disappointed almost every adult character who wasn’t gay in this book was a hate-filled, anti LGBT idiot, but I understood that the author was trying to show the small town was extremely anti-gay. The strong anti-gay sentiment from so very many random adults (not just the odd one or two here and there) jarred me from the story a number of times and felt a little over the top to me.

I really enjoyed how both Steve and Farin got off on the wrong foot at first. It’s not common for two strangers to meet and instantly be on the same page, to not say something stupid or for them to communicate perfectly with each other. These things take time and understanding, and seeing both Steve and Farin struggle at times was wonderful – it made me all the more happy when they did get on the same page and start to bond together. I also appreciated how the pace of the story wasn’t super-fast. The plot and relationship move steadily along, but it was refreshing that Steve and Farin didn’t just tear each other’s clothes off the moment they started talking. Nor was there a wham-bam style sex scene, but they took their time, talked and shared, getting to know each other. In such an erotic book that slower pace was something I really enjoyed.

The sex is vividly described and steamy hot. I loved the dirty talk, and the quick, hard sex. There’s a little bit of light spanking but overall I didn’t feel anything too over the top sexually was present to put readers off.

A delicious story with plenty of plot, I can heartily recommend this to M/M readers. I found this to be a sexy and fun read.

I really wish we’d been given more depth to some of the scenes – like the laptop poetry scene and the final family scene in particular. As a reader I felt a little shortchanged that two such important, passionate scenes had the feeling of being rushed and almost glossed over. Those two scenes were pivotal in Simon and Beckett’s relationships and even after rereading them I was left with many questions – like how the men reacted and felt emotionally from such important discoveries. I was a little frustrated that more time and words weren’t spent on them, even if other scenes would have been cut shorter to ensure that.

I really enjoyed the relationship growing between Beckett and Simon, I was pleased they seemed to fit together so well and found the sex between them both steamy and enticing. The bedroom door was certainly left open, but I didn’t feel anything too daring was described in detail. Readers who enjoy M/M romance and don’t mind a bit of spice in their story should be as satisfied as I was.

Aside from wishing a few of the scenes had been longer and better fleshed out, I found this to be an emotional, romantic story. I enjoyed the intimacy between the two men and appreciated the pacing of their growing relationship. This is a lovely book and one I have enjoyed.

Initially I found that Bryan comes across as a bit of an anti-hero. All that said, I genuinely found Bryan to be a complex and interesting character. While I strongly feel many more traditional romance readers might not warm to him – he doesn’t soften much until about half way through the story – I was drawn by his anti-hero characteristics. There are reasons – good and strong ones – as to why he doesn’t believe in happily ever after endings or the strength and bonds created through a good marriage. These layers made him interesting to me and helped me want to find out why he acts as he did and gave me patience to stick with him when some of his thoughts were less than charitable.

In some ways I found this to be a good-girl-turns-bad-boy-good style of story, but that label doesn’t do it justice. Gloria is older than many normal romance heroines (in her forties) and while Bryan is in his mid-thirties and definitely not some virginal young man, there is that age difference there. But it’s Gloria who in many ways is the innocent. She’s known real love – her dead husband was her soul mate in so many ways and Gloria still views the world through rose coloured glasses. Bryan might have some baggage and not really believe in love, but his feelings for Gloria grow deep and genuine. And I found this a very satisfying story to read and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Bryan twist and turn as he found himself emotionally and romantically growing and changing.

While this wasn’t the most realistic of stories, that normally doesn’t bother me too much. As long as the plotline isn’t outrageous I love reading for the escape. Readers who like their plots more logical and real might find some of the changes Bryan makes difficult to swallow, and other readers might not be able to see past his initial deceptions. The sex scene is sizzling hot and explicit, but there’s no kink or anything I found over the top. Readers who don’t like “bedroom door left open” style scenes might want to skip those parts, but personally I found the scene tastefully written and not added in merely for the sake of having sex. It fit the characters, situation and progression of the story very well to my mind.

I found this a sweet, wonderfully heartwarming story with vibrant characters and complexities in Bryan particularly that I found deeply satisfying to read. I really enjoyed both Gloria and Bryan’s characters and found their proverbial rocky path interesting and romantic. A great book I’ll happily read again.

I really enjoyed this sensual story. It’s a progression from Sean Michael’s book “Blended Family” but can easily be read as a stand alone. Mr Michael has done an excellent job of laying out the backstory without massive info-dumps or making it feel like a rehash of old stuff. I was pleasantly impressed by the seamlessness of having Max, Peter, Devon and Swan’s story and relationship progress while still explaining how far they’d already come on this journey. I also really loved how all four characters had their own style and quirks. With four main characters it would be easy to have one or more appear too similar – or perhaps be somewhat overlooked in the narrative, but I found them to be all unique and interesting and take equal shares of the spotlight. The author is to be commended in my view for meshing the various threads of story perfectly to make an excellent foursome.

This is a highly erotic tale, and while there’s plenty of BDSM play and toys, I found it sweet, charming and extremely tasteful. I could also strongly appreciate how the plot and storyline basically *is* the foursome coming together. I loved reading about the small hiccups of couples moving in together, finding their new pace and settling in with each other. There of course was some outside conflict about half way through – and while I found the problem the four men faced sad, it was also a strong reminder of how some pockets of the world is today. Bittersweet. Most of all though, I loved seeing these characters I enjoy coming together, sharing their bodies and home and finding their new rhythm together.

I felt Combine is a strongly romantic story with excellent characters, a realistic plot and interactions and more than a hint of laughter. This is a wonderful story and one I happily found myself engrossed by. I can’t wait to crack it open and start reading it again for pure pleasure. A vibrant, wonderful tale.

I found these massive background information dumps clogged up the story a little and while it was excellent to understand the bigger picture and how things fit together, it all left me a little confused and not following the story as easily as I could have hoped.

Readers looking for a strong, plot and character based story should find this engrossing. This isn’t a mystery book in the usual sense – there’s no who-done-it style murder – but it is a spy-type thriller waiting for all the pieces of the puzzle to come together and then waiting for the action to kick in. I enjoyed reading all the parts coming together and even found the twisty plot to be refreshingly different. One important thing to note is this book does not have a “happily ever after” style ending. Not at all. Also, there might also be a few triggers for various readers – both assassination and human trafficking is mentioned in passing (as part of the plot, not written descriptively or explicitly) but I found at no stage was it over the top. I found the characters to be different and exciting and the plot well paced and deeply complex.

An interesting, vivid tale that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I enjoyed Katie’s character and sympathized a lot with some of her feelings. To be honest I felt Kate’s friends – all wanting something mercenary or superficial out of their various romantic relationships – were a bit over the top. While absolutely I agree many more people nowadays are only after “friends with benefits” or a superficial relationship, I’m not sure I agree most (if not all) people think romance, love at first sight and having a deeper, more meaningful relationship are gone. I think plenty of people still believe in this – and search for it themselves and wait eagerly for it. Having said that, I understand Kate’s view and experiences needed to be this one-sided to make the story work. I just didn’t feel it was very flattering to her social circle or particularly realistic.

I think the author did an amazing job with the characters though. Katie is interesting and someone who I felt connected to and engrossed in. And Matt was a wonderful character, charming and realistic but still definitely hero material. I loved Matt and Katie’s initial meeting and enjoyed watching the two characters interact. I found this to be a very sweet, somewhat funnily cynical tale about love and relationships in the modern world. I think many romance readers will thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved the strength of the plot and characterizations and didn’t find anything sexily explicit to worry readers who prefer their stories sweet. I thought this was a story I’d happily share around with some friends and even my mother. Strong on plot and an interesting, vibrant hero and heroine.

A well rounded story with plenty for all readers. Recommended.

This is a gloriously fun “one night in Vegas” style story. I really enjoyed both Natalie and Noah’s characters and found myself drawn in to them both almost immediately. I was a little nervous when I found out how inexperienced Natalie was – all too often “almost virgin” heroines turn annoying and clichéd to my mind – but Ms Erickson did an amazing job with Natalie. I felt she was really well balanced and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the delectable night of passion she shared with Noah.

While the plot itself stuck to the fairly routine formula of a girl’s weekend getting disbanded for hot, sexy flings in Vegas, I enjoyed Natalie and Noah’s characters and interactions enough that I could look past the fact there were no real surprises here for me. I love Vegas stories though, and have to admit this fun read will be just as good upon second – or even third – reading, which is always a positive thing for any book in my mind.

A fun frolic of a story with interesting characters I found myself engaged in. While there shouldn’t be any surprises in the storyline itself, I’d recommend this for any readers wanting a bit of heat and spice in their romance and looking for a fun way to pass the weekend.

This is a smoking hot read. I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between Zoe and Cole and was not disappointed when they made it to the bedroom. Deliciously explicit, this steamy story left very little to the imagination. I particularly liked how Ms Fox didn’t have Cole and Zoe jump straight into bed. There was a clear meeting, then short time where they both tested the waters and learned a little about each other. Especially in such a short length story the clear effort to show the characters coming together emotionally and then physically was refreshing to me.

I enjoyed both Cole and Zoe’s characters and was thrilled to read them enjoy each other so much. Even though they sizzled in the bedroom, it was lovely to see them both discuss important things going on in their lives. Both of them are at a turning point and watching them talk and explore options – not merely ravish each other in the bedroom – really added to my emotional connection to them both and showed me how strong and lasting the connection they formed would be. I finished this book really wanting to know more about them both, and see how they progressed into the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be eagerly looking for more of Ms Fox’s stories. I felt connected to Zoe and Cole and liked the author’s writing style. A sexy, emotional, romantic book I would happily recommend to other readers.

This is a fast paced, steamy novel. Very graphic and with some downright dirty language, it’s not for the faint of heart. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Ruth and Heath and their naughty adventures. I also really liked how realistic most of the story was. It lent the story an air of a girlfriend chatting to me about how she hooked up with her new man. The book is written in the first person but mostly it felt like a friend chatting to me over a nice cup of tea.

There’s quite a bit of light kink. I didn’t find any of it outrageous or really over the top. Public sex, a bit of light bondage play, teasing and light spanking (nothing too harsh) and a swingers sex club all made this book deliciously erotic, but nothing I’ve not read of before. I did find it a little strange how the author outlined and described every minute task that Ruth did (it’s been quite some time since I’ve read a story where the heroine waxes her lady parts or discusses in detail buying groceries and sexy knickers) but again, I really felt this just added to the feel of a friend confiding to me of how her recent dates have gone. It was strange, yes, but only a little bit and didn’t ruin the flow of the story for me.

I thought the conflict around the club a little disappointing – particularly Ruth’s reaction to it by trying to make Heath jealous. The miscommunication felt a bit rushed and I’m not exactly what purpose it served. Nor do I understand why the club had such an enormous build up, only for them to leave after ten minutes. I was left confused and let-down to not see more of the club or even have a proper scene where Ruth and Heath enjoyed themselves in it and did naughty things. One of the sub-plots was also left dangling and I personally don’t enjoy when some of the plot is left so open and unresolved.

Overall I really enjoyed this story. I felt an endearment to both Heath and Ruth’s characters and mostly had fun reading about their adventures and play. I think this book is naughty and spicy enough to suit most readers. I feel most readers will find this as fun, playful and spicy as I did. A fun read and a great way to spend a quiet weekend.

Professional Grievers gave Seymour the chance to mourn his lost love and even get paid for the performance he gave to other funerals to pad out the numbers a little. Seymour thought it would be some easy money, and a good way to continue his grief without raising any eyebrows. He never expected to meet a damsel in distress, a bunch of criminals and a number of very hungry alligators. Turns out he had to earn his “easy money”.

This is a fun story, lighthearted considering it’s all about death, grief and trying to find your way out of the quagmire of losing a loved one. With much of the story-telling tongue in cheek, it’s a delightful book I found myself thoroughly enjoying. Seymour is certainly sad – possibly even a little depressed – and the Professional Grievers is a company I can understand the appeal of. It’s completely insane, but somehow logical at the same time. And the fact the author managed to mesh all this with Florida gators and a crashed wedding really just made it perfect for me.

I had a little difficulty following some of Seymour’s retelling of the story. It’s mostly in the first person and jumps around a bit. But following his varying trains of thought was a small price to pay as the story itself is alternately hilariously funny and deeply moving. There is a single sex scene, detailed but not erotically explicit. I feel that readers who like a bit of spice in their romance – but that doesn’t really cross over into the strongly erotic – will find this scene satisfying and tastefully written.

I thoroughly enjoyed the way in which the author wrapped up this story. There was a slight twist I didn’t see coming and that made me even happier than the laugh out loud moments I had. I found this to be a fun, darkly comic story about love, loss and piecing back your life together once again. Recommended.
