The inhabitants of Pendelton Manor are completely open about their sexual habits, and when Sophie walks in on it, she is dumbfounded, but also aroused. A mix of old style Gothic mystery and a full on sexscapade, this book was a scorching hot read.

At first, my initial response to the story was that it reminded me of the old Victoria Holt mysteries with a brooding murderer lurking about. Add in sex at every single turn and you have something that would make even the most adventurous person blush. Adrian and the rest of the family are openly sexual in front of everyone in the house, hence the turnover in housekeepers. It is a bit shocking to find yourself in the midst of an orgy when you are trying to clean.

While I enjoyed the plot, dialogue and Sophie’s sexual awakening, I did feel that the sex was over the top. The author did a great job with each scene, but there were so many, I felt my eyes glazing over on a couple of occasions where I wanted to find out about the murderer or what happened to the cat. Also, the personal dynamics between Adrian, the oldest brother and owner of the manse and Sophie was the main focus, but I wanted more from their interactions. There was a repeated reference about the grief of both Adrian and Sophie that felt a little like an echo.

Overall, the story was great and the sex was smoking hot. Menage action at every turn with some one on one with Adrian and Sophie that scorched my e-reader made this a great read, but again, I would have liked a few more mystery elements.

If you have a fondness for Gothic style mysteries with a flair for wild sex parties than dip your toes in this one.

She lives for their yearly interludes and after reading some of the spanking, tying up and otherwise naughty scenes, I have to agree. This ghost is a keeper!

The banter back and forth between the main characters, the sex scenes and overall presentation of the book was great. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author. Her ability to pique your interest in the story is considerable and as a serial, it let you see the growth of the characters and the fear that they may not be able to be together.

If you want a hot read that has some unexpected story twists, then this book is for you. Lovers of the paranormal will love it!

The idea of Rachel fighting her instincts to submit to Ben are very believable, after all she is a Domme with her own strong reputation. This story doesn’t just jump into a threesome without there being doubts on everyone’s parts and they didn’t just meet. They’ve known and respected each other for years, with Will and Ben being best friends, and Will and Rachel having a long term and loving relationship. It’s easy to see them working to make this relationship work since it fulfills everyone’s needs. This is a ménage that is about Ben and Rachel and Rachel and Will and while Ben and Will love each other as best friends they don’t need each other in a sexual manner and that is made very clear.

Overall, I would gladly give Ms. Willows other BDSM books a try and would recommend her to others. I felt she had a real understanding on how relationships are formed and definitely knows how to write a sexy story. There is no shortage of hot and satisfying scenes in this book, with enough sentiment that you aren’t left thinking they are only with each other for sex. This book seems to be third in a series, but I had no problem following and reading this story as a stand alone.

I recommend this story for anyone looking for some smoking hot chemistry between Alpha personalities, and those who don’t mind a woman who knows how to take charge.

Sean Michael had done it again! Angel enters the Velvet Glove sedated. Jax relies on a friend, Malachi, to find the right man to help Angel heal. Malachi apparently is good at matching people. Ronald is a good match for Angel. I could visualize Angel’s reactions when Ronald refused to let him do something. One of the problems I did have with the story was that the jump from Angel not liking Ronald to wanting to be around him all the time was a bit sudden.

The other problem I had with the story was the balance between the two couples. A good portion of the story was devoted to Ronald and Angel, while the relationship between Jax and Minuet was not really explored as much as I would have liked.

I enjoyed the sex scenes with each couple. The sex scenes were milder than Sean Michael’s norm for both couples. I wonder if a heavy sex scene with each couple was left on the editing room floor.

As a fan of Sean Michael, I have to say this book does not disappoint to say the least. If you are interested in a spicy hot read that has a happy ending, then this is the book for you.

I really enjoy the collaboration between these two authors, both of who write scorching hot romance on their own. With this series, they boost it up a few levels, bringing laughter and tears in equal measure. The world they have built is a delight, and the characters are charismatic and so much fun to meet.

Amy Wesson is a delight; organized, smart and a bit sassy, willing to go with the flow when things don’t go as planned. I liked that she was open to new experiences, and that she was a bit unpredictable at times, like when she tries to convince Andrew that she is a submissive, when she is definitely far too independent to fall in that category. I liked Amy for her honest approach to life and love, and her ability to accept those things she felt she couldn’t change.

Andrew Shaw is a celebrity, handsome, dominant and overly protective of those he loves. When he realizes his sister has ‘disappeared’ he is determined to find out where she is, and frustrated when Amy will only give him generalities as to Harper’s location. I loved that Andrew could discover things about himself as he spent time with Amy, and was sensitive to her desires to see everything she could in her limited amount of time in Chicago. I enjoyed watching as he got blindsided by the lovely Aussie lady, and discovered what love could be.

There is a side story with Harper and Amy’s two friends back at Farpoint, but nothing is really spelled out here. Of course, since Ms. Couper and Ms. Carr are both masters of erotic romance and Ms. Carr does marvelous romantic comedy as well, this is a real hot treat for a winter’s night. I hope that, at some point, we will see Harper’s story, but until then, I highly recommend the three Foreign Affairs books already out, especially Misplaced Lessons, my favorite so far. But beware, these folks will snare your heart, make you laugh and make you cry before they find the perfect solution to their unique dilemma.

Laura Antoniou provides the forward and I always enjoy her words. Author of the Marketplace series, a leather and slave masterpiece, it was great to see her name on the author roster.

Each Step For Him by Lee Harrington 
Lee Harrington can turn a phrase and can suck you into a story without trying. His imagery and the blending of the leather community with a tale of The Little Mermaid was truly inspirational. This m/m short was infused with images of leather, the sea and finding a Prince to love. It was sexy and well done and I am eager to read more from this author.

Blue Beard’s Ghost by Ariel Dalziel 
The story of Bluebeard is one I remember hearing as I was growing up. A murderous pirate, Bluebeard claimed the lives of his wives and kept gruesome trophies in a room upstairs. The kink factor is moderate, but enough to make for a lively collection of short erotic encounters. If you want a great on the go story, this collection is a sexy way to break up the day.

Leon has been watching Bernice Rowe since he first laid eyes on her. A local librarian with lush golden hair and a voluptuous figure, he knew she had to be his. Bernice was enamored with the possibility that becoming a sub would help her with her issues with attracting the right kind of man. New to the lifestyle, the relationship between a sub and a Dom really appealed to her, especially if that Dom was going to be Leon.

Bound for Christmas had a fairy tale quality that you don’t often see in a BDSM novel. It had a sweetness and simplicity to the story and flow that was intriguing. Leon was a typical Dom character- overbearing and doing everything from cutting Bernie’s food to dressing her. Bernie was a quiet sub with very little going on. There were points in the story that frustrated me, the doormat syndrome being one of those. While the loving nature of the story was nice, the lack of character depth made me restless as I was reading. On the other hand, the sexy spanking scenes and other BDSM moments were a lot of fun and had me reaching for the iced tea.

The very real weight concerns that Bernie had were a strong pull as was the fear of being alone. Body image is a very real part of most women’s lives, and I identified with Bernie’s need to be accepted by Leon. To have someone care about you enough to correct you, feed you, dress you and the like is intoxicating, but in this instance it felt like Bernie had very little presence. There were a couple other issues that also popped up. Echoes. When the same word is used over and over again in the course of a paragraph, then it tends to stick in the reader’s mind and you notice. The other thing was that there was very little getting to know you time before things progressed to a level of commitment that felt unrealistic and I had a moment where my ability to suspend disbelief was having some issues.

Overall, I liked the storyline, characters and the idea that you can meet a Dom in a club and have a sexy three week Christmas vacation with as much kink as you can stand. That would frost anyone’s cupcake, especially mine. The holiday essence and sweetness of the story prevailed in the end.

If you want a story that has a little bit of kink under the tree, then give Bound for Christmas a try.

Riding the Waves is heavy on the smexy, but it could’ve used a little more character development. It was the blurb that caught my interest. I can’t resist the whole woman who’s been wronged angle. New author for me, so I downloaded a sample of the book to check it out. I liked what I found, so I snatched this one up . My instincts were right on the money, and Riding the Waves was as entertaining as it was hot and sexy.

She did the same thing I would have, only she let Willow keep her hair on her head. Me… I would have snatched it right out. But our heroine is a classy lady, she kicks both their asses to the curb. And she won’t forgive them no matter how hard they beg. Now that’s my kind of heroine. She only wallows in self pity for a while . Until she crosses paths with Brent, the man who starred in all her sexual fantasies.

Brent always wanted Annalee. But he thought she was too fragile to meet his needs. So he left town and took a security job protecting ships from high seas pirates. Things went bad at sea and Brent got a little wake up call. Now, he’s come back to town to reconnect with the woman he left behind. Annalee’s first look at Brent has her drooling at how much he’s buffed up. They hook up at an office party and the good times get to rolling. Lots and lots of hot loving. Brent and her no good ex thought that girl was fragile, but she seemed more like a sex starved nympho to me.

It’s not all sexy times. Brent’s job comes back to bite him in the butt. Things get pretty hairy for a while, with a sadistic pirate out for revenge. Annalee has trouble accepting the danger that surrounds Brents job. As it happens, she’s right to be afraid, as Brent’s enemy targets her.

I took a chance on this author, and I’m so glad that I did. The plot was unique and the characters engaging and likable. I could have easily given it five stars had LaRose developed the back story a bit more, had the heroine smack her two timing ex and her man poaching ex-bestie around a little bit, and had Brent and Annalee spend some time out of the bedroom. Not that I’m against lots of smexy with my story. I love it that way. Riding the Waves featured some of the hottest love scenes I’ve read. For the record: I’ve read a lot. This story was not lacking in that department. We’re treated to some anal play, some light bondage and even flirted with some BDSM, and toys. More than enough to satisfy even my tastes. I can’t really put my finger on what was missing. Just felt that there should’ve been more. Maybe LaRose should have explored that sandwich that Annalee was interested in. That might’ve done it for me. I could definitely go for some more of Brody. Maybe he’ll meet someone interesting on his next trip to sea, and the writer will tell us his story then. (hint…hint)

I enjoyed every minute of this story, and am looking forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend this book to any reader who likes a story overflowing with hot sexy loving and a hero to save the day.
