Love or duty — which would you choose?

Prince Severin has been brought up to put duty before all else. Now, his duty is to marry and produce an heir. He has his choice of princesses. Unfortunately, his passion is for princes.

Havyn has been a slave all his life. When his powers are discovered, he finds himself purchased and freed by a Prince and apprenticed to the royal wizard, Ildar. His duty is to stay chaste to keep his powers strong. Unfortunately, his passion is for Severin.

With kingdoms at war, the throne hanging in the balance, and magic in the air, can the two men find happiness together, or is duty more important than love?

A prince, a wizard, and a new slave set out on an epic quest that changes their lives. Prince Severin and the royal wizard, Ildar, are heading home after a long journey meant to humble and teach the irreverent prince. They happen upon a slave auction and buy Havyn with the intention of freeing the man. But matters aren’t that simple as Havyn soon becomes Ildar’s apprentice and Severin is newly engaged to a woman he hasn’t met yet. The three head off on an epic journey with 2 bodyguards to find the missing princess complete with mystery, intrigue, and wonder.

The characters are well-defined, even as they feel very familiar. There is Havyn, the slave who turns out to be so much more. He’s somewhat submissive, somewhat meek, but he’s also an exaggeration. He’s never had a single kindness in his life, never had clothes, went weeks without eating, always beaten. He’s still a likable character even though he’s a bit too much the poor orphan stereotype. Severin and Ildar also follow their predictable stereotypes but they work in a classic fantasy setting. They may not be the most original but they are still interesting and I like reading about their adventures.

Some of the writing feels basic and the same words are used repeatedly, especially during the sex scenes. Severin’s “staff” reminds me of too much of bad romance writing and after a while I fatigued on the throbbing, aching staffs. As a first offering though, the story is enjoyable and interesting. It plays on all the basic concepts and themes of fantasy stories with a bit of romance, sex, and an obvious happy ever after at the end. It may not be the most unique story but it will likely please fans who enjoy classic tales of adventure and true love.

This is a classic fantasy story with all the various ideas that make fantasy stories a lot of fun without the elaborate world building. The setting is historical with the twist of magic thrown in so the story doesn’t spend a lot of time creating a unique world. Instead it plays on the familiar concepts of a historical setting and lets the action take center stage. There is a lot going on in the book from the introduction of the characters to Havyn’s new status, their great journey across many lands to find the missing princess, mysterious prophesies, and a complicated future. None of these feels overwhelming and actually they work pretty well together to keep the pace moving quickly and the story interesting. All in all, this was an enjoyable read.

Kimberlyn is a were at odds with herself. She longs to express her true nature, but she’s not sure what that is. What she knows is that she needs lovers who can satisfy her needs for rough sex and submission. What she doesn’t know is that as the only Healer of her kind, she’s incredibly valuable to the pack that can claim her.

Pack Alpha Logan and his partner Andrew need a third to solidify their pack and protect it from the Bears who want to take over. They know Kimberlyn’s their girl from the moment they lay eyes on her. Now they just need to convince her they can fulfill her darkest desires. And to keep her away from the Bears.

What woman doesn’t dream of find a man that can handle her in the bedroom? This is even more important for werewolf Kimberlyn. All her life she has looked for a place to fit in and hopefully find a man who can tame the wild beast within her. So when she moves to a rural area in Kentucky she’s thrilled to not only find one man who is up for the task but two.

The entire character lineup was likable in this story, especially the three main characters. I would have to say although I am usually a sucker for an alpha male so instinctively I thought Logan would have been my favorite. However I kept finding myself swaying in Andrew’s direction. Although he was not the alpha of the pack you could tell he definitely was a leader in many ways. And where Logan sometimes ruled with an iron fist, Andrew used his power of persuasion more often. Also I feel like he handled high stress situations even better than Logan seemed to. This in no way means that I disliked Logan, I just found it interesting. A secondary character I also really liked was Elijah. This of all places should be spotless viagra 20mg in india and exemplary. Now it seems the killer doll business is in full bloom. cialis free consultation I especially enjoyed the way he and Kimberlyn bantered back and forth. I hope to see much more of all of these characters in the future.

The one thing I found unique about this plot was that the wolves had an ongoing battle/war with the Bears. I’ve seen many stories concerning wolves vs. wolves but haven’t really see different species of were’s battling, although it makes sense since both are extremely territorial. Because of this I really enjoyed this conflict within the story. This conflict also contributed to numerous other problems within the separate groups so it definitely added more depth to the storyline.

The relationship did leave me with a few questions. Like why Logan seemed to be so harsh toward Andrew and Kimberlyn at certain moments when they where only doing what they felt was right. I also did not understand the way Andrew and Logan interacted in the bedroom. I mean Logan was the extreme alpha in public but Andrew came off a little more domineering in private.

This story was definitely spicy. I mean it had every type of sexual partner match up you can think of m/m, f/f, and f/m/m/m … it really had it all. For someone like me who can really go for about anything sexually in stories, it made it a very interesting read. This is only the first installment of a series so it will definitely be interesting to see what happens next.

Possessing perfect pitch, a penchant for leather and a predilection for gourmet cooking, Master Rikard is a sub’s dream.

After answering his compelling personal ad, Gayle begins a relationship with the mysterious masked Dom. His hypnotic voice spins wicked erotic fantasies as he takes her to sexual heights she’d never believed possible, while glimpses of his tortured soul awaken her desire for more than just sex.

Their mutual love of music could be the beginning of much more, but his tragic past presents a barrier. Then Gayle’s innocent discovery forces them to face the truth.

While reading the newspaper during her regular morning routine Gayle comes across a personal ad that intrigues her. It just happens to be an ad from a Dom looking for a sub. Gayle is rather curious so she answers the ad. When Rikard calls her back they agree to meet for coffee and from there Rikard and Gayle begin a relationship. Will she be the one sub he is looking for or will she run when she finds out his secrets?

This was an interesting story about one woman’s interest in and the beginning of her journey into the lifestyle of submission. Gayle is a smart woman who seems to fall under the spell of Master Rikard from the very first phone call. Master Rikard is a good Dom but he is in pain and hiding secrets. Gayle and Master Rikard make a good couple they seem to play off of each other very well.

Although these two had a good relationship I do think that Gayle seemed to jump into things too quickly and is doing things totally opposite than she would normally do. It was good to see the author have Gayle and her best friend question this but it seems to be glossed over. As you read this story you wonder what is going on with Rikard and all his strange behavior, which Gayle seems to always quickly dismiss. I found it this difficult to believe, and it seemed that there was little real depth to Gayle and Rikard, and these things affected my ability to really bond with the characters.

This is a story of BDSM, with flogging and fisting involved, so there may be a scene or two that offends readers by its harshness. All in all, though, this story had a good plot and while I may not have enjoyed “Must Love Music” as much as other works by this author it is still a well-written book. Not every character will appeal to every reader and this will not deter me from looking for more from this author especially since I have enjoyed other works by Jennifer Dunne.

This story is set in the Horde Wars universe.

Cady and Obsidian, two greatly revered Shikar Warriors, know they share a love like no other. A love that will last forever. A love not even Death can interrupt.

And now it’s time to put that love to the ultimate test…for Death is on its way.

After years of marriage, Cady and Obsidian are still going hot and heavy. You would think they were still on their honeymoon from the way they cannot seem to keep their hands off of one another.

This story kept my interest the entire time. These two are blissfully married from page one and I enjoyed watching them interact with each other. It was refreshing to see a couple who has been together so long still as madly in love with each other as if they had just met.

Sacred Eden also had a great supporting cast that, in the end, were willing to do whatever it took to help out their friends. I especially liked the Traveler with his mysterious know-all ways. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed by the ending of this story, which left me with too many questions. I was confused about why the story seemed so incomplete. Then I checked and learned this was the fourth story of a series, which was something I hadn’t known going into it. I assume that these questions are answered if one reads the entire series, but it would be nice if the reader were alerted before starting the book, but at least a notation on the cover.

However, the undying love between Cady and Obsidian is remarkable. Throughout the entire story, even when they are bickering, I could tell how much they loved one another. This is even more evident when they have to battle the daemons. The fact that both are more concerned with their spouse instead of themselves, and their willingness to die alongside each other knowing they could not survive if they could not be together spoke volumes to me. I guess in the end I am just a sucker for romance and this story definitely has it. So if you enjoy reading about a happy, loving couple who indulge in plenty of steaming hot sex, then Cady and Obsidian may have what you want.

Dealing with business problems and a romantic betrayal leaves Diahann Marshall frustrated. Her sister suggests she order takeout and feast on a handsome delivery boy, but Diahann doesn?t expect the restaurant?s owner to show up at her door.

All Diahann needed was no strings attached sex to get over the betrayal of finding out her long term boyfriend was married. So what better way than to seduce the sexy Chinese take-out driver she just meet a few hours earlier?

I like the fact that although Sun and Diahann seem so different they really have a lot in common. Both of them are so devoted to seeing their family’s businesses succeed they have little time for their own personal lives. Little did they know by indulging themselves on a sexual escapade they would also be beginning a great business partnership.

Although this story has some dry spots there are other scenes that were quite interesting. I especially liked the fact that after Sun found out that she was a part owner in Marshal’s he wanted to figure out a way to help both his restaurant and hers at the same time. One beautiful, addictive woman. Two warring brothers prepared to fight to the death for her love.

There is no more compelling force in a vampire’s life than that of bloodlust. During a difficult and prolonged Feast of Indulgence, vampire/shifter Etienne Gautier has found his perfect mate, his bloodlust, Raven Monclaire. But in order to claim her, he’ll have to wrest her from the clutches of his twin brother, Acier. Etienne is determined to have Raven — even if he has to kill Acier to get her.

The only peace and joy Acier has known during the last few years is finding his bloodlust, the beautiful but unpredictable Raven Monclaire. After a lifetime of subjugating his needs to ensure his twin, Etienne, has everything he desires, Acier learns Etienne is now demanding he relinquish Raven. A furious Acier comes to the painful realization that Etienne must die.

Only Raven can save them from themselves. But who’ll rescue her?

Vampires, Werewolves, Aliens and hybrids abound in this collection of three integrated short stories by Marilyn Lee.

Part 1 – This is the beginning of our tale. Twins Etienne and Acier are thrust into the throes of their Feast of Indulgence in this story. As beginnings go, this is a good one in that it has a strong cast of characters who develop well within the story, without seeming overblown. I fell instantly for Acier’s fiancée, Raven. She is a strong woman but her relationship with half-vampire, half-shifter Acier gets very interesting as the story progresses. The stronger your http://pharma-bi.com/levitra-2317.html order generic levitra immune system is, the longer you will live. Afterward, the user may lessen the levitra generika doses to 1-2 injections fortnightly, and then 1 injection monthly. Filled with an abundance of characters and vividly written, this tale is a great start to the anthology.

Part 2 – Continues the tale of Acier and Etienne. Saved from his feast, Acier must now deal with the traitor in his pack that tried to kill him. The continued character development in this story is a great continuation from part 1. The story of part 2 picks up just after part 1’s conclusion. This section is definitely the rough and tumble section of the book that has erotic scenes that might make some people uncomfortable.

Part 3 – Moonlight Healing – In the conclusion to this epic tale, Etienne is saved from madness and the bonds between the twins and their bloodmates, as well as the secondary stories of their family, wrap up and all loose ends are tied. The third and final chapter of this saga continues to develop the relationships of the main characters with their fathers. The interpersonal relationships between Etienne, Acier, Raven and the twins’ vampire kin is interesting and engaging and keeps the reader turning the pages to the very end. I have to admit I am a little disappointed that some of the resolutions are alluded to but never really explained.

The only real problem I had with the story is that more supporting characters appeared with each section. These secondary characters didn’t hurt the story but they did certainly make things a bit confusing. The erotic scenes of the book seemed to be rather crudely worded to me but given the majority of the sex in the book is rough, the wording, in retrospect, seems appropriate.

Ms. Lee has written a great story that develops not only the main characters but also the supporting cast, weaving an intricate and interesting world of the creatures that roam the night.

Danny has decided to stay at Mystic U in the wilds of Wyoming because his new lovers, Heather and Lee, are just too hard to resist. A lot of people want Danny gone, though, and some of them aren’t afraid to show it in dangerous ways. Lee and Heather are resolute about keeping Danny with them, and alpha male Lee is determined to keep them all safe. Can Danny pass his classes and manage to stay alive?

Danny has everything a man can dream of. When he pursued Heather, a classmate at Mystic U, he not only got one mate, but two. But the happiness doesn’t last long. Someone in Wolf Creek is not happy about the arrangement between Danny, Heather and Lee, and will stop at nothing to make Danny disappear.

This quick read was sizzling from beginning to end. But what do you expect from a bunch of college kids? Even though they should be focusing on their school work, sex is really the only thing occupying their minds.

I enjoyed the fact that the antagonist is unknown. There are a lot of people within the pack upset by the fact that Danny, some city kid going to a local college, is involved with a couple that will eventually be one of the most powerful if not THE most powerful in the pack. With so many upset pack members, the individual acting on their feelings could be anyone. I think it added a little more excitement to the novel as we tried to figure out who the unknown antagonist was.

I didn’t have the pleasure of reading the first story, but the plot on this one did not leave me feeling as if I missed anything series-wise. It did however leave me unfulfilled, because the story has no conclusion. It ends right at the climax. I prefer for each story in a series to have its own plot that is resolved at the end of the story. This made it difficult for me to fully enjoy the story.

You’ll find the relationship between these three characters very interesting. Lee, being an Alpha, is very determined to keep Heather and Danny safe no matter what. I find it refreshing that, although Heather tends to argue with Lee about small things, she and Danny allow Lee to be the alpha and protector. Also by being with these two, Danny seems to be really developing into a stronger male. With all of Heather’s sexual needs being met, everyone is getting something out of the relationship.

If you are in need of a quick story to help make it through the day, this just might be the one for you. A fun read that I give 3 cherries.

When sword for hire Teodoro Ciéza de Vivar accepts a commission to “rescue” Lord Christian Blackwood from unsuitable influences, he has no idea he’s landed himself in the middle of a plot to assassinate King Philip IV of Spain and blame the English ambassador for the deed. Nor does he expect the spoiled child he’s sent to retrieve to be a handsome, engaging young man.

As Teodoro and Christian face down enemies at every turn, they fall more and more in love, an emotion they can’t safely indulge with the threat of the Inquisition looming over them. It will take all their combined guile and influence to outmaneuver the powerful men who would see them separated… or even killed.

I can’t think of too many things more enticing than a handsome Spanish swordsman who sees honor as just as vital as air and water. Add to that a beautiful, headstrong Viscount who needs his protection, the hot Spanish sun and the volatile political climate of early seventeenth century Europe, and the ingredients are firmly in place for a passion-soaked intrigue.

This is a charming story with characters whose lives and motives unfold slowly for the reader, each new revelation giving us another piece to Teo and Christian’s hearts. Of the two, Teo is much more complex. His actions are often driven by past mistakes that haunt him, his reactions tinged with old hurts still festering. But Christian is an equally intriguing character. He’s led a more sheltered life compared to Teo, and doesn’t have the years to match his experience, but Christian’s a determined soul who knows what he wants. And what would that be? He wants a) Teo, b) to be able to stop looking over his shoulder for kidnappers, and c) his father’s respect, in that order.

The story rolls along at a good clip, for the most part, in a good mix of external peril and internal struggle and I became engrossed in the tale. If this piece were ever re-vamped for a later release, however, a couple of issues might be addressed at that time. In a romance, I tend to forgive a little head-hopping. It’s generally accepted during love scenes, and often can be handled with a minimum of distraction. The number of hours on a bike and/or the pressure on the pulmonary artery will be higher than usual so blood can’t enter the pulmonary system properly online levitra no prescription that can result to the back flow of blood to the penis which is the most important for sexual activity. When blood supply to the penis is disrupted it leads to problem in achieving erections. low cost viagra Here, unfortunately, the head-hopping was a tad excessive.

Certain POV’s made sense—Teo’s and Christian’s, of course, Teo’s friend Raul, who acts as an excellent mirror for us to see the principles. Even Hawkins’ POV, towards the end, is necessary. But the authors chose to show us the story from everyone’s eyes. The thug in the alleyway, the Inquisitor, the guard, even the most minor characters had paragraphs written in their POV, sometimes at confusing moments, pulling the reader out of the story. I found it distracting, and it pulled me from the story more than once.

The other issue was not quite as distracting, but I was a little disappointed that the plot did not explore the historical aspect of the actual happenings of the time a bit more. Philip IV had a difficult reign, full of conflicts and economic issues, and his court was populated by fascinating people. We have some inkling that Spain has been at war, but nothing specific. Granted, Teo, as a mercenary, might not have much of an interest in politics and the market value of chocolate at the time, but Christian, as the son of an important diplomat, would certainly know, sheltered life or not. I would have liked to see more of that history addressed.

However, the story is most successful in its personal portrayals. The characters held my interest, won my sympathy, and had me hoping all would be well. And in a romance, isn’t that the crucial point? That we invite the characters into our hearts and chew on our fingernails until the dust settles and the right hearts have found each other. Checkmate fulfills this covenant between romance writer and reader and then some, with swashbuckling charm. An enjoyable read that made me smile.

Para-Mates, Book 2

Chrissy Taylor doesn’t believe in a lot of things. Her life, and her career as a supernatural myth-buster, are ruled by logic and skepticism. Love at first sight? Forget it—until she’s swept off her feet by Mr. Tall, Dark and Mysterious.

The next thing she knows, she’s done the most illogical thing imaginable: run off to Vegas for a quickie marriage. And Mr. TD&M’s insatiable hunger for her body is starting to feel suspiciously like an attempt to make her the one thing she fears most. Pregnant.

Even though Kaine sets Chrissy’s world on fire—literally—she can’t resist embarking on her toughest debunking mission yet. She must unearth the truth about her new husband before desire consumes the last of her reason.

Kaine Delcaluca is withholding the fact that he’s a dragon, but time is of the essence. He desperately needs an heir to save his dynasty. Plus, he has an even bigger problem. The Scepter of Fire, the only weapon powerful enough to kill a dragon, has gone missing. If he fails to find it—and knock up his new bride—within the next few days, his people are doomed…

Puff the Magic Dragon has nothing on Kaine Delcaluca. This was my first dragon-shifter story and I have to say it was a nice introduction to this particular breed of shifters. Here cialis 5 mg cute-n-tiny.com are some of the most important factors: 1. Involve in carnal act more, instead buy generic viagra top web-site of just executing copulation act. On the other hand, buy cheap viagra remains to become probably the most common cause of ED in many cases. Who would have thought a giant mythological creature could be so hot?

The plot of this story was jam-packed with not only external conflict but internal ones as well. I think the internal conflict Kaine and Chrissy both had to deal with made the story a much more interesting read. Kaine and his dire need to have an heir immediately, and Chrissy’s fear of having a child, made for some interesting discussions and arguments which really added to this story.

At the beginning of this story I did find the relationship a little unbelievable. Kaine and Chrissy meet under mysterious circumstances and immediately fall head over heels in love and get married the same night. To me the depth of the feelings just developed way too quickly. I do not know anyone who can say the meet their spouse and was so immediately in love with the other they were willing to sacrifice everything including their self. I will say though, after you get past the initial unrealistic feelings, the relationship does develop at a more realistic pace especially after Chrissy finds out what she truly married.

Because this is a longer story, not only do you get the sensual/sexy side of the relationship, but also the sweet side. You can tell once Kaine and Chrissy fully understand one another, they are willing to do anything for the other’s happiness and safety. And although they may fight quite a bit in the beginning, the making up always seems to be fun afterwards.

The conflict between the villains also made this story intriguing. The fact that Tuo and Sabrina cannot trust one another just made their roles exciting. Who wouldn’t love bad guys whose only loyalty is to themselves. The dynamic plot with twists and turns around every corner had me reading this story into the wee hours of the night. An entertaining read that I enjoyed.

It’s always a challenge for authors to offer a fully realized plot, characters, and romance with detailed erotica in the short space provided. Although I’ve liked almost everything this author has written, Sadie’s Kiss falls a little short of earlier excellence. Here the characters are not well described and in fact, I didn’t get a clear mental picture of either man. There is almost no description of Casey offered and I wonder if that’s because Evan is blind so the reader isn’t given any physical description either. This isn’t horrible but it’s just an example of the low descriptive quality of the story as well.

Additionally there are some problems with confusing point of view as it jumps too often between the men. I didn’t find their “love at first sight” entirely believable either as there is no real basis for it except a deep, almost magical knowledge that it’s right. This will definitely please those fans that enjoy that theme as well as the numerous sex scenes included. The hot and steamy sex takes up almost the entire second half of the book so those that want to indulge in a lot of raw and explicit sex will likely enjoy the abundance offered.

The novella has the author’s familiar writing with an incredibly quick pace and likable characters. There are some paranormal aspects with Casey’s psychic intuition but other than this, the story reads like a classic contemporary love at first sight between two opposite but sexy men. Their different personalities crank up the heat and passion as long as you can go along with the pretty fast romance. While maybe not her best story, she’s still a very talented author and has penned something enjoyable and fun to read.
