The blurb is a bit misleading in the focus on Morgan and Derek, who are more of a side note, but they’re interesting and a nice couple so they are certainly not a bad inclusion. All of the Draigen were interesting and compelling. Each had such a different personality, distinct from the others. They all wanted what was best for their family, but they didn’t always pursue it the right way. This was evident in the way that Eric and Runa first came together. Not only did he make a mistake by nabbing the wrong girl, but he continued to make mistakes–which most of us can relate to.

Runa is a strong woman that any woman would envy and any man would love to call his own. Although the fae had a reputation of being crazed sexual deviants, she was not like the rest of them. She had lost her mother when she was a baby and, with the exception of her brother, Byron, her entire family dislikes her. One thing about the plot that left me a little puzzled was the conflict involving the vampyren and the wraith. I wasn’t really sure what the different items were that they wanted or why they wanted them. Since the conflict was already underway when I first read about them, I think it was hard for me to grasp the concept when I didn’t understand the relevance. But Eric and Runa and the additional cast had me so enthralled I just wanted to see what happen with all of them so was able to forgive the confusion.

I loved the relationship development between Eric and Runa. Between Eric’s mistakes and the threat to Runa’s life their relationship was continuously being tested. At one point I wished he was real and standing before me so I could smack him on the back of the head and tell him to get it together. As if it wasn’t hard enough for Runa to forgive Eric after he forced himself on her, once she does the walls came crashing down around her. In the end, after much difficulty, they both got not only want they wanted but what they deserved. This was one HEA that was hard earned.

This story had a good amount of action and some incredibly well written characters that I can’t forget. Well done! I’m looking forward to the next installment.

I truly think that more time spent on the influences and revelations that change things drastically for Mitch and Tina would have given more depth to the story, as well as to their motivations and feelings.

Those issues aside, Be My Vampire Tonight does offer some steamy scenes and a few unexpected twists and turns to keep you on your toes. This first novella in the series is written to foreshadow what you can expect in future, and I can say that if you like magic and shifters, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out. You get a little of everything here, including a sexy vampire who isn’t all he seems, a heroine who has even more shocking surprises in store, and secondary characters that will have you curious about what happens next.

But Dallon is far from who she thought he was. Once living the same lifestyle, he too escaped and helps Carrie along the way.

This elephant in the room definitely hinders the romance of Michael and Jack, which readers are supposed to believe magically is okay at the end, and this abrupt, quick ending left me dissatisfied.

However, except for this, the story is interesting and well written. So, if you’re looking for something different and a fascinating glimpse into another culture, I’d still easily recommend this story.

The main character, Agnes is definitely not a perfect protagonist. She’s so naïve at first that it’s annoyingly not credible. However, this innocence along with the narrator’s outrageous commentaries is a primordial part of what makes the story so special.

My laughter did not die down and my affection for Agnes grew as she acquired her education. An education versed not only in lovemaking, but also in literature, music, court etiquette, and of course, true love.

The Scandalous Tale of Agnes Biggenbotten is a delightful and entertaining read for any moment.

While there are many things I like about this novel, unfortunately, Savannah Gibson, our heroine, isn’t one of them. Savannah has the potential to be a strong character, but I found her tendency to burst into tears at the drop of a hat irritating. Savannah’s relationship with her sisters is a strong point of the novel, and I truly enjoyed the scenes she had with them.

If you are looking for a quick read with a whole lotta steamy sex, then Strictly Professional is the book for you. I am looking forward reading the next book in the Stud Service series.
