I was in a mad rush to pick up Wolfman: Revelations the week it hit the online bookstore and had to start it just as soon as it downloaded onto my computer, settling in for a long winter night of reading.

Wolfman: Revelations picks up where the first book left off so personally I recommend reading Wolfman: Apocalypse first or you will get the feeling of being dropped into the middle of the story and miss some of the important details about the two main characters and not really able to enjoy the plot play out.

Daniel, big mouth human and Mace, Alpha Wolfman teach each other how to trust and survive the post virus world together. One has lived in fear of the beast, and memories of the world before the virus while the other lives with no memories of his past and the instincts of a wolf and pack live where only the strongest survives. Together they work to try to find away where humans and wolfmen can co-exist.

Brannan Black did a wonderful job in creating a unique post-apocalypse story. It’s amazingly well written with a lot of action and Alpha sex. A tale that will make you laugh and draws you in to a point you find yourself talking to the characters and trying to help them out when they let their mouths get them into trouble.

If you like to think outside the box and imagine the future or if you just enjoy Paranormal stories, you will find this book worth reading. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series when it comes out and can’t recommend this series enough. Why don’t you grab yourself a copy?

Erin and Jeff are a great pairing. She’s not sure if she wants a man for more than a quickie and he…well, unfortunately, we don’t really get to climb inside his head. Jeff has some cute one liners that add to the overall tension of the story. He’s hot and the exact cure she needs for her frustration in life. The combination is great.

But as much as there was great, there was a little poor. I read this book in one sitting, but there was a moment where I was completely pulled from the story. Part of the book is in italics and I had to go back and reread at least three times to make sure I knew what was going on. It’s a pivotal scene, so it was frustrating. I struggled to get back into the story. With a little more editing care, this book can really shine.

But don’t let a few minor glitches deter you. This book packs a punch with a heady combination of heart and heat. It’s a great read for a chilly winter night when you want a pick-me-up and characters that will make you smile. I give Jockey Box 3 cherries.

A conundrum, but with a little more detail added, this story could be dynamite.

Speaking of dynamite, there’s a lot of heat in this short little tale. I had to wipe my brow and grab a cold one to lower my temp.

Honestly, outside of Tetsuji mentioning it, I just about forgot it. The writing is smooth and I flew through the story in no time. Heck, I read it again and again, just because I couldn’t get enough.

I liked Tetsuji. He’s driven, he’s competent, and he knows exactly who he wants. The physical attraction between Madria and Antonius was certainly hot, but it almost felt like the book’s plot was mainly about their having sex, and that their dilemma was merely a subplot. Ms. Nour has an excellent descriptive ability. Her idea behind the story is enticing, and makes for an interesting read.

This is my first foray into the world of Scarlett Blackwell and I’ve got to say it was good. Ms. Blackwell writes poignant vamps. Did I mention they have wings? Now, I’ve read plenty of paranormal and I’m sure vamps with wings isn’t new, but it was to me. I found it sexy and intriguing.

There were a few issues though, with this story. I liked that I got to roam around in both Sebastien and Alex’s heads, but there were quite a few times when I felt pulled from the story because it veered into telling rather than showing. I ached when he had to make choices because I could literally see him weighing his options. I rooted for the guy to get his heart’s delight—Alex. She’s a conundrum. I wasn’t sure I liked her in the beginning. Well, no, I loved her independent streak and her determination not to just fall to him. Gotta give the girl props for guts. There were a few times I thought things went a bit easily, but again, it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Pairing Alex and Sebastien is sexy, sweet, and I couldn’t get enough.

If you want a paranormal story that’s a new twist on an old theme, then you need to read Love Bites. I give it a hearty three cherries.
