After enjoying the story, A Strange New Breed, I was very excited to have the opportunity to read Wendy Stone’s most recent, Magic Man. The premise snagged my attention – a half white-witch, half werewolf girl in danger to a man that uses magic to run a successful detective agency. What’s not to like?

I loved the magical elements here, as well as the shifter lore and characters that return from A Strange New Breed. It’s always fun to find out what past characters are up to and to see how their lives have evolved. What is it about Scottish men that attract us so much? “History Lessons” made me raise the question, and not for the first time.

Ms. Mueller doesn’t have the definitive answer, but her novel certainly helps reveal a glimpse to the answer.

First, we meet Hunter. A captivating man with deep blue eyes, thick brown hair streaked with blond, a solid lean build and a sexy smile and accent to boot. Later, we encounter several ancestors which diligently demonstrate where Hunter gets his looks. Together, the huge Sinclair family creates a whirlwind of intense activity. Ms. Mueller masterfully interweaves history with the contemporary world, creating a mix that easily drew me into the story. She builds strong snippets of historic stories that left me craving for more knowledge about those characters.

However, so many characters with hard to pronounce names were a little overwhelming sometimes. Also, it would have been nice to have a little more focus on Hunter and Ayda. The termination of their story is, in my point of view, a little abrupt.

“History Lessons” is a sweet and beautiful tale filled with moments worth remembering.

We’re immediately introduced to Daniel Radisson, recently released from nine years in Corcoran, a California state prison and as part of the condition of his parole, he has to attend an AA meetings every day for a month. He meets Trey, a sexy Harley riding man. Dan’s social skills are totally lacking and he beings to regret accepting an invitation from Trey to get coffee and a bite to eat.

But all in all, a fun read, good for the beach or a lazy Sunday when you don’t want to think too hard and you want a dose of hot man-on-man sex and a lightweight mystery with a nice emotional ending. Very satisfying in that respect.

The protective tenderness that Rio feels and shows towards Emerson was very nice. I truly enjoyed the interaction and love between these two people.

If you want a fun, but quick read, then you need to read Watch Me Hide. It’s a bit difficult to get a feel for the characters in this novella because of the quick pace, but well worth the time. Although this is a brief read, I found the story enjoyable. I look forward to more works by this new-to-me author.

This is a must read! If you haven’t read any of Ms. Rochelle’s work before now, Desire, is a great introduction to it. I can pretty much guarantee you will become a fan who will be watching the shelves for her next release.

When I say she deserves the heroine of the year aware, I’m not saying it lightly. Loryn is one of the strongest heroine’s I’ve ever read in a story.

Readers will get so caught up in this story that Loryn’s pain is like their own. Derek is like a dream man come to life. He’s wealthy, prominent, gorgeous and looking for the simple pleasures in life. Ms. Mueller has provided us with a fantastic story in All My Dreams. This is a must read for those who have always desires a second chance at love in the most unexpected of places.

The witty dialogue and casual setting will have this short story ending far too soon for most readers. I recommend enjoying with a glass of wine and some pasta, perhaps it’ll work as well for you as it did for Patrick and Stephan.
