I liked how the author made you feel Erik’s depression at being shunned by his own pack. Many people can identify with his sadness and longing to find the place he belonged. The impact of the emotion was very strong.

I liked how Brandon, though young, went for exactly what he wanted and showed the maturity to wait for his chance with Erik. It was beautiful to see two people, who really understood each other despite the age difference and time spent apart, find each other and make the relationship work.

I found this story short but touching because we all have felt those feelings of rejection and dissolution because of a choice we’ve made. This story shows that you can overcome your past, you can use it to your advantage, and grow beyond your own capacities.
