After reading the first two books in Karen Erickson’s Playing with Fire series, I couldn’t wait to read the third installment, Scandalous. I already knew the story would be hot, and I couldn’t wait to see what surprises were in store. Unfortunately, while the sex sizzled (as I knew it would), I found myself rather disappointed in this offering.

When you meet Alexa and Eric (familiar names if you’ve read the previous books), you can sense their attraction. It’s so difficult in reviews to refrain from telling too much and giving the story away. Without going into details I’m only able to provide this: the end of the story just didn’t work for me. Had things played out differently or more time had been devoted to developing the characters, maybe it would have. As it was I left the story feeling as if the sex was great but the plot, motivations of the characters, and overall outcome was a way to provide a HEA and wrap the story up.

On the plus side, the writing, as with any Karen Erickson work, sizzles. There is nothing negative to say about the steamy dialogue or racy ménage scenes. She’s excellent at working the room, putting her players together, and making it work. If you’re in the mood for a blistering ménage involving multiple combinations, you’re sure to find exactly what you’re searching for with Scandalous. Although perhaps disappointed with the direction of this story in particular, I did enjoy many of the scenes, and I’m eagerly waiting for what I hope will be another installment in the series.

Finding friends in the least likely of places was a big part of this tale. This had humans, seelie, unseelie and fairies working together in a common goal — freedom. The internal conflicts of the characters, along with the kidnappings, really worked to make the story exciting, even though the plot was incomplete. Because this is part of a series the plotline has been left unfinished so that it may be carried over to the next story. I did not read the previous one – Dark Side of the Veil – but I was able to keep up with this plot easily. So I believe those who have read the previous story as well as those new to the series can equally enjoy this romance.

From the moment the book started you knew the relationships would work. The attraction and bond was clear, even during Monte and Doc’s first encounter. Plus the sex was spectacular. I would like to have seen a little more action between all three men together but that is just me being greedy. While it can sometimes be difficult to write about a ménage – particularly when it includes three men – the author did not seem to have any problem.

I would recommend this story to anyone looking for an exciting ménage featuring some spectacular characters.

I experienced several emotions while reading this book including laughter, tears, and being ticked-off as the characters did things that made me want to shake them. This is truly a journey in the life and love of Devon Sparks and Josephine Burnett.

The book starts off with a bang as Devon, finds himself the best-man in his best friend’s wedding, which he should have been the groom of. Yes, you read that correctly but you will have to read the book to find out how it came to that and what Devon does in response.

The next interesting twist, is when Devon meets the heroine, Josephine Burnett, and discovers he is inexplicably drawn to her. Much to his chagrin since Devon admits that he is “Damaged goods”. Yet, he is captivated by her. Dead set in his refusal to admit the attraction, Devon comes off as cold and heartless until he faces up to the fact that there is something between them.

The air crackles with electricity whenever they are alone. Josephine’s life, however, is not without drama, her abusive boyfriend has a deep secret he is avoiding to share, and makes it plain to everyone else except Josephine…until it is too late. Emotionally destroyed, she locks her heart and feelings away, until Devon walks in and tries to rescue her, and himself. Together they try to rebuild their shattered existences, forming a connection which is fiery and sizzling.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. The plot hooks you in, the characters are believable, the storyline flows and the language, well let’s just say the language is not for the faint of heart. I found the story very engaging, and enlivening. Designing Love, definitely delivers. I would recommend this one to those who are fans of interracial erotic fiction.

Once I started reading this book I eagerly awaited what would come next. The characters pulled me in and held me in a limbo for the entire story. The plot was excellent and well worth the read. Oh, and did I mention the sex, it was absolutely steamy. This book is well worth the read.

The three men are a delight. All three are tall, dark and extremely sexy, and when they realize who Raleigh is they show their delight quite honestly. I liked that in this book, because of the type of world Raleigh lives on, she goes to her mates as a virgin, having consistently thwarted the prince in his attempts to take her virtue.

If these two books are any indication, Ms. Masters has a hit on her hands, and I can’t wait to read more of this series, filled with humor, passion and screaming hot sex. If you are looking for some humor with your hot and heavy action, these are for you.

Though, I am not sure what the difference between a dark and light faerie is. Not that it matters because I would take that dark faerie over a light one any day.

In today’s literary world there really aren’t many stories that keep you guessing on who is going to succeed in the end as this story does.

This story is a sequel to a previously released story, Amethyst Eyes. It is not mentioned except for on Loose Id’s website. When reading this story it seemed as if it was a sequel, but I did not get the feeling that I was really missing any important parts of the story. So I can unquestionably say this can be read as a stand alone novel if you have not read the previous story.

The relationship between Jessup, Notus and Regina is definitely spicy. Whether it is Jessup and Notus worshipping Regina’s body or Jessup dishing out a tantalizing spanking. There may not be full on guy-on-guy action other than a spanking but it is clear these men are attracted to each other. These characters have so much wild kinky sex you can also tell how much they really care about one another even if they do not realize it themselves.
