This is a simple and short story but I felt it packs a lovely punch. Most of the Christmassy aspects of the story don’t occur until toward the end (it takes time for the deck and renovations to occur) so I feel readers looking for a strongly Christmas themed story might feel this falls a bit short in that respect. But I really enjoyed both Jackson and Ethan’s characters and the slow but steady and sexy progress they make as they come together and fall in love.

Personally, though, I felt that the emotion and connection between Rory and Frankie was lovely and the slower pace of the story helped me feel that their relationship and attraction was more realistic. Rory hadn’t been looking for love, but both he and Alisa, his daughter, had finished most of their grieving for their tragic loss. I was pleased there was very little drama/conflict in this area as I believe it would have felt clichéd to me and ruined the happy, gentle, heart-warming feel the story really had going for it.

With a strong cast of secondary characters – both Rory and Frankie’s parents, Alisa and Sammy the two respective children in their lives and a whole host of animals on Frankie’s farm – the story feels full and colourful without being crowded. I really enjoyed how the author managed to make the story feel busy but not like animals or characters had been crammed in for the sake of it. While I really would have liked a little more spicy bedroom action (there’s only one, very brief intimate scene in the last few pages of the story), it really is lovely to read a slower-paced, romantic story. While I feel readers looking for a sexy or erotic story might find this disappointing, I have to admit a hotly erotic, sexy story just wouldn’t have fit in with the family-orientated, farming, small-town feel the rest of the story had.

Fast paced and with the attraction between Hawk and Stewart sizzling off the page I found this to be a fun and interesting story. Sit back, leave reality at the door and enjoy the sexy shenanigans. I enjoyed the slightly tongue-in-cheek writing of Ms. Jakes here, the humour of the story mingling well with the sexily hot Marine-fire-fighter. Neither Hawk nor Stewart were inclined to move slowly or hide their attraction to the other and this helped the pace of the story move at a good clip. There is nothing timid or shy in this story – from Hawk asking Stewart to give him a “helping hand” in the hospital (Hawk couldn’t see to his own self-care with a broken wrist) to Stewart inviting Hawk to come live with him on less than an hour of the two men knowing each other. Realism and subtlety were not strong suits in this short story and I found I didn’t care at all. The men were smoking hot together, their chemistry explosive, and for a short sexy story it wasn’t like I wanted the men to talk to each other for the whole time.

Full of sexy good fun, a few laughs and some interesting escapades, this is a quick short story that sizzles right off the page. While a part of me would have enjoyed getting to know a few of the secondary characters a little better – Stewart’s grandpa is a hoot and some of Hawk’s Marine-fire-fighter buddies sound absolutely delicious – I can’t blame the author for focusing on Stewart and Hawk, given that this is their story and there wasn’t really the page-count to delve deeper into these other interesting characters.

Sexy and hot, this is a blistering short story that I feel should appeal to many readers.

I thought the conflict between Nic and Jon was very understandable, but I was still a little disappointed that it felt a bit clichéd to me. While it certainly added to the drama and tension of the story I have to admit I was enjoying the happy, Christmassy and wishful feeling the short story had encompassed up to that point.

With plenty of magic, Christmas wishes and festive warmth, I found this to be a lovely short story and a good read. I was very pleased with the happy ending and found the chemistry and attraction between Jon and Nic to be intense and lovely. A good, Christmassy read.

I was pleased for this slower beginning – both Kelly and Jamison have baggage and issues that needed to be worked through and I feel that their relationship was a lot stronger – and more realistic – because of the time and effort they both spent learning about each other and spending time together outside the bedroom. The fact Kelly wasn’t in the BDSM lifestyle and she needed (I feel) to be eased into the kinkier aspects of Jamison’s life was addressed quite well and I thought was handled with care.

Despite the slower-paced start, once Jamison and Kelly become intimate I felt this story really flew high. The attraction, care and genuine feelings between Jamison and Kelly really convinced me they were building something lasting. They were friends as well as lovers and delving into the BDSM lifestyle together. Told from Christi’s third-person point of view I missed having a glimpse into Lane’s brain – but didn’t feel the story lacked too badly from the reader not really getting to know how things worked from his perspective. While I did enjoy how hot and cold both Christi and Lane ran – it really made understanding them both a little complicated.

I was very slightly disappointed that Christi had a little mini-tantrum when Lane bumbled asking her to come to England for the holidays with him. That part of the scene felt just a little over the top to me and a bit much. I did really love Christi’s character, finding her exuberance – and her love of lingerie – something I could easily relate to. Overall for such a short story I felt there was a huge amount of relationship developed between them and enjoyed the author’s writing style.

Steamy and sexy with some naughty lingerie thrown in for good measure, this is a good, quick read to get you into the holiday spirit.

Readers looking for a sexy, happy and erotically taboo story should be pleased with this. I found it to be sizzling and just a little bit dirty, but overall quite optimistic and happy. A very non-traditional romance where the relationship between Elijah and Mona was front and center to everything. With a happy ending that I felt really rounded out their tale this was a great, quick and naughty read.
