I found this to be an interesting but very different style of story. As high school kids, Theo and Ruby are not the average heroine and hero in romances that I’m used to. Even though I think the author did everything right I just couldn’t manage to find it sexy when Theo and Ruby eventually became intimate with each other. I think there will definitely be readers who disagree with my feelings – and find their relationship and intimacy erotic. Despite my not getting on board with the erotic aspect of this story – there was still plenty about it that I really enjoyed.

Ruby and Theo were clearly attracted emotionally and not just physically to each other. They dated slowly and we as readers come along on the journey with them. No physical intimacy occurs until after half way through the book, so this in no way felt rushed or pushed to my mind. I didn’t for a second doubt that Ruby was one hundred percent on board with being intimate with her boyfriend. In every other respect I found this a lovely, slightly sweet romance about two kids enjoying and flourishing in their first serious romance together. There is also a little drama and conflict when Ruby’s long-absent dad makes a re-appearance in her life, but this didn’t overshadow the importance and value of Ruby and her blossoming relationship with Theo.

I also particularly loved how devoted Theo was to Ruby and how hard he worked to convince her not only that this wasn’t a passing fancy, but that he was serious and committed to his relationship with her. In many respects this really is exactly what the title promises – a sweet story about two kids who find each other in high school and try to build a future together. A good short story I feel this will be a hit with plenty of readers.

My only disappointment was I really felt that Travis’ housemate Luke drew out the teasing over Travis’ predilection to “daddy-porn” far too long. I totally understood Luke joking to Travis in a friendly manner to about Travis’ kink. The first few times Luke teased Travis I laughed along with him and then it felt to me like it went on and on. For me, personally it got taken a bit too far – for over half the length of the story. That said, I could see that Travis and Luke really were good friends and the extent of the teasing was the only blemish on my enjoyment of this story.

I thoroughly enjoyed the steamy sex between Patrick and Travis. It’s very consensual and while there’s a hint of kink with restraints and Daddy/boy talk and role-playing I didn’t find anything too over-the-top considering this is an erotic romance story. Dirty and sexy with plenty of spice in their mutual attraction, I enjoyed this story and found the ending very satisfying. While I don’t believe this will be every readers’ cup of tea, I feel it should appeal to those who like a slightly harder, kinkier style of M/M story.

I found this to be an interesting and well-plotted werewolf story. While the dynamics of the paranormal world were slightly different I had no trouble getting up to speed with the setting. I did feel a little as if the plot about the humans who slaughtered Lucia’s pack and sexy shenanigans of Lucia and her reverse harem overshadowed the world-building. Certainly this wasn’t bad enough to affect my enjoyment of the story – but I would have liked to know more depth about the world and how the various shifter packs interacted and how they fitted in with the human world. That said, I feel the author did a good job of juggling the plot and relationship between the five men of the Knight pack with Lucia. With so many men to one woman it would have been very easy for the characters to not stand out on their own merits or have one or two of the men be far more active and memorable than the others, and I was pleased that I didn’t find this was the case here.

I was surprised and pleased that after Luther – the pack alpha – initially claimed Lucia as their mate the five men gave her some space and time to wrap her head around all the changes that had happened practically overnight. It also helped me as a reader get a feel for the pack dynamics and separate the five heroes into individuals and not just as a pack. While I didn’t enjoy how Lucia misread the pack giving her space to grieve and come to terms with being claimed by all five of them – that part felt just a little too clichéd for my liking – I was grateful this misunderstanding didn’t last long and was quickly followed by plenty of steamy moresome sex that even Lucia couldn’t misinterpret or twist into more conflict.

I found the sex scenes to be spicy and intense – but not envelope-pushing and feel most erotic readers should find them suitably hot and interesting. I also rather enjoyed how Luther – for all his alphaness and bluster and hardness – was the one who craved Lucia’s love and acceptance, even while Lucia was the character trying to solve the dilemma with the humans. Normally it’s the hero trying to fix the problems and the heroine agonizing over the emotions so I found it refreshing – and very well written – how these usual roles were so wonderfully reversed.

Fresh and quite different, I enjoyed this reverse harem style of story.

And while I thought the enemies-to-lovers shift was slightly too fast for my personal tastes, the chemistry and attraction between Juliet and Jesse was smoking hot and I quickly got on board with them being sexily intimate together and indulging in all that passion burning between them.

With a lot of sharp banter between them, I thought both Jesse and Juliet were strong characters, neither willing to give an inch on the other. This isn’t a soft or gentle romance, but more like two fierce fires coming together and burning the house down. There is a very satisfying “Happy For Now” style of ending that I enjoyed and with a few of their neighbors introduced I’d be intrigued to see if any further stories might be released in the future.

Sexy, hot and very fast-paced, this was a fun and good read.

Not flashlight!) to the overall feel of the city. Eating pie and mash at a local pub, the correct use of the slang “mate” and “gent” and so forth. It all wove together seamlessly and I really enjoyed this.

Readers looking for a lovely, slower-paced, character-driven romance should find this story fits the bill perfectly. I liked how Simeon and Anthony were interesting and well drawn characters and I could find myself relating well to them both. I also appreciated how they didn’t simply glance at each other, wink and exchange a few pleasantries and jump immediately into bed. Following as the two men got to know each other over dinner, share some laughter and get to know each other helped me as a reader get a good feel for them both and see them connect and begin to build their relationship with each other. And when finally the two gents get together and are intimate, I found the scene to be well worth the wait, tender and spicy. While the sex was descriptive, I found it to be gentle, loving and quite romantic. I feel readers who enjoy M/M romances and a bit of spice should find this love-making scene well written and delicious.

This is a lovely short story with two very interesting characters and watching Simeon and Anthony come gather was delightful. A very British, cosy and romantic story that I greatly enjoyed.

I really enjoyed the author’s voice – finding it modern and a little bit gritty. The characters and pace of the action made the story feel a bit too young to be described as noir – but it left me with that sort of feeling, as if the characters had been middle-aged men or the scene more grey and dreary, rainy, it could easily have been a hard-boiled, noir style of story. Regardless, Wick and Kenny were mysterious, interesting characters I found myself almost immediately curious about and the fast pace of the story kept my attention throughout.

The plot was simultaneously simple and more complicated than I originally assumed. Two young guys, broke, working dead-end jobs and desperately needing money isn’t unexpected or unique. But the fact it’s so very relatable and easy to understand is what drew my curiosity. The reasons behind why Wick and Kenny both needed the money was far more complicated and helps give depth and layers to the plot that I felt really helped round out the story into being something more enjoyable than an easy heist story. I also really enjoyed that there was a strong cast of secondary characters, all interwoven with each other. This careful meshing of various characters all with different agendas and outlooks really helped deepen the story to my mind.

This is a strong mystery-style of a story, and I felt Wick in particular was a complex and interesting character – a fairly young, regular guy caught up in a difficult situation and wanting to do his best with the hand he was dealt with. I think readers looking for a modern and well-written, quick mystery read should find this to be a good choice.

Twenty-one points-of-view characters tell the story from every angle (even the Three Rivers have an opinion). Part crime thriller, part satire/comedy, and part romance, The Clown is a play-like novella.

People might have laughed at the mysterious person who entered the bank dressed in full clown costume – but they weren’t laughing for long. As costumes go, this one hid the person’s identity perfectly, and the bank heist went off without a hitch. No one was laughing for very long – except the clown.

I found this to be an interested and slightly different story, slightly gritty and a little bit bittersweet. This absolutely isn’t a romance – even though there are complicated and realistic relationships all throughout the story there isn’t really a Happily Ever After style of ending that I feel most romance readers would expect. I found this story to be realistic and the interactions between the main cast of characters somewhat complicated. Readers looking for a happy, or sweet style of story probably won’t find this fits what they are looking for. This is more of a mystery or heist-style story and a little bit noir and gritty to my mind.

Told in pieces by the perspective of a few different people this story is quite different from others I usually read. Rather originally, to my mind, some of the small sections of perspective are actual places – like a river or the city itself in a more omnipotent type of view. I was nervous this would give the whole tale a jarring feeling. While I don’t feel this method of story-telling will resonate with everyone I didn’t mind the jumping around too much. The story pretty much keeps a linear fashion of telling – while the perspectives jump around the story and timeline is kept fairly straight, so I didn’t have too much trouble following it along.

I was intrigued by two of the main characters – Scott and Ariel. While the clown conducted a string of robberies we’re given snapshots into Ariel and Scott’s life. Childhood and lifelong friends, Scott has always secretly loved Ariel, but near the end of high school Ariel fell for one of the local bad-boys and now while she knows she should leave the relationship she can’t bring herself to do it. And while The Clown is most definitely the villain of the piece, I found the different styles of heists he performed was quite interesting too.

In some respects this story reminded me of a series of small vignettes all strung together – each adding a different facet to the story and the author wove it all together to form one whole story. The style and tone of the story was fresh and quite different for me – I can’t recall having ever really read a story in a similar vein – and this, along with my curiosity about how this would all end for Ariel, Scott and The Clown – had me eagerly turning the pages right to the end. A fairly straight mystery style of novel I feel this would appeal to a wide range of readers and would be suitable for most age ranges too.

Fresh and different, this was an interesting story that I really enjoyed.

I found this to be an intense and tricky book to read. While the chemistry and connection between Jason, Miranda and Armand was believable and strong – I found quite a few points in the story took me some time to get comfortable with. A lot of the circumstances surrounding Miranda’s kidnap and abuse was gut-wrenchingly believable. It was far too easy to believe how realistic and simple it would be for this sort of situation to happen literally every day to any woman – or young adult/teen. In that sense I found this quite heavy reading and not to my usual taste of romance or erotica. I don’t mind reading something that is erotically intense or that deals with strong emotion, but serious baggage like abuse and kidnapping are usually subjects I don’t like to read about in too much depth. I also found it somewhat confusing that Miranda was clearly struggling to deal with some of the facets of her kidnapping and abuse, yet she could simultaneously feel intensely sexual feelings for both Jason – whom she tried to convince herself she still hated for breaking up with her when they started college – and Armand. The whole hot/cold/hot/cold changeovers from Miranda feeling sexual to recalling various acts of abuse that had occurred when she’d been kidnapped didn’t feel very sexy or erotic to me and I struggled to follow with what felt to me like fast changes emotionally in the story.

I truly feel the author handled these issues very well. Readers who enjoy deeper, more complex and realistic stories should find this a delight. I feel the subject of Miranda’s abuse and kidnapping were written respectfully and tastefully (there was no titillation or over-the-top descriptiveness about the actual time she was locked away and hurt/abused) but I did just find it a little too difficult for me to say that I enjoyed or was even comfortable with that aspect of the story and the ramifications that followed.

I feel readers should also be aware that while there’s no heavy or detailed description of it – in one scene toward the end of the story Miranda takes another person in a BDSM scene past them using their safe word. While that particular BDSM scene is not really described, refusing to stop when a safeword is spoken is a very strictly held thing in the BDSM scene/lifestyle. I personally found it very difficult to read about her breaking that part of the code of conduct, and especially her rationale and explanation surrounding it just didn’t patch it up for me, personally. This action of hers very seriously dinted my personal enjoyment of the story as a whole.

I did enjoy watching Miranda, Armand and Jason work through their issues, develop their ménage relationship and help Miranda heal and come through her trauma. This book has a lot of strong positives, but I just don’t feel it’s a comfortable or easy read and I absolutely feel this will not suit every reader’s taste. I could easily see it becoming a “love it or hate it” style of story as many aspects are polarizing. I believe some readers will love the depth and complexities and the tasteful ways very deep issues are explored – others will feel the total opposite.

Strongly emotional with quite a few dark pockets this story won’t be to everyone’s tastes. That said, the characters are complicated and very interesting, the plot is deep and I feel very well written and the sex is steamy hot.
