And we cannot ignore the title to this story, which just grabs you from the very beginning. With a title like that I knew it had to have had a meaning and at the very end the author tied it in very well. So, if you want to learn more about a Duck Fart look no further. I just wished the story never ended.

Bump in the Night

This story was the shortest of them all only being about 20 pages. It is about a man name Wade who is a ghost detective who has an interesting encounter with the couple Joshua and Karen who own the house. Because this story is so short you do not get the depth that you got with the previous stories. It is also not related any of the previous stories. It was highly erotic and was a nice sexy end to this collection.

The only thing I would have liked to have seen was for all the stories to tie into each other somehow, especially since the first two seemed to accomplish this so well. Each of these stories was extremely sensual and seductive. Not only did the characters find themselves being seduced but I as a reader felt the pull of sexual attraction. I would definitely recommend this collection to my friends.

I found that the first person POV worked really well in this story. She is the character with the most growth and change. A reader watches her rise up from despair to new heights of personal and sensual empowerment the likes of which she never imagined. And that makes for a book well worth the time to read. I’d recommend this book for anyone who wants a quick story that reaffirms that love happens when you least expect it. And it’s a marvelous thing to read about when it does. I was very happy for Mandy and Jon. What a great couple.

Although these two had a good relationship I do think that Gayle seemed to jump into things too quickly and is doing things totally opposite than she would normally do. It was good to see the author have Gayle and her best friend question this but it seems to be glossed over. As you read this story you wonder what is going on with Rikard and all his strange behavior, which Gayle seems to always quickly dismiss. I found it this difficult to believe, and it seemed that there was little real depth to Gayle and Rikard, and these things affected my ability to really bond with the characters.

This is a story of BDSM, with flogging and fisting involved, so there may be a scene or two that offends readers by its harshness. All in all, though, this story had a good plot and while I may not have enjoyed “Must Love Music” as much as other works by this author it is still a well-written book. Not every character will appeal to every reader and this will not deter me from looking for more from this author especially since I have enjoyed other works by Jennifer Dunne.

Usually, I’m not one for the Sci-fi genre, but Shayla Kersten has actually made me interested in her Sci-fi stories. And let me tell you that is one big feat. The characterization in this story is amazing. Teo and Siron seem to complement each other perfectly. They have what most people dream of having in a relationship. When Teo takes the lead, Siron is more than happy to follow and vice versa. After reading about them I would like to think everyone could meet their perfect other half as these two have.

Not only did this story draw me in from the very beginning, I actually whimpered at the end, because I was not ready to leave the world Shayla Kersten created. This story really had me feeling every emotion, whether it be happy, sad, angry, lustful, it really had it all. While the ending wasn’t quite what I expected, the conflict was solved in a better way than I could have imagined. This author clearly knows what she was doing by leaving her readers wanting more.

One of the reasons I never liked sci-fi stories was because I always felt they were either too descriptive, or not descriptive enough. Shayla Kersten gave me just enough information in this story that I could see the world she was trying to create, yet had enough space to add my own mental imagery to it as well. I just hope that the author will continue Teo and Siron’s story, because I am sure it will be flying off the shelves.

If you science fiction (or even if you don’t!), do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of “Angel Moon”. It’s a keeper.
