City girl. Nurse. Looking for a fresh start. And falling in lust.

Sheriff Wyatt Winston plans on buying the Double R ranch from the elderly owners. But when the land owner’s wayward niece comes to town looking for a fresh start, Wyatt sees a potential obstacle in the way of his plans. That obstacle just so happens to be in the form of a sexy, red-headed city girl and Wyatt is suddenly finding it difficult to keep his mind on the task at hand.

Baylor Stivers doesn’t know why the tough as nails cowboy is always angry at her and she certainly doesn’t need anymore drama now that she’s escaped to the calm, picturesque Kentucky horse country. But this young nurse can’t keep her eyes off his irresistible hard body, and when a dead body shows up at the ranch, the Sheriff is exactly who she wants by her side and in her bed.

Wyatt Winston doesn’t care for city girls, but when Baylor Stivers comes to stay with her aunt and uncle on the Double R ranch he’s concerned the woman could be the downfall of his plans. Wyatt is an ex-bull rider and now the sheriff, and he has an iron-clad idea for his future, one that involves buying the Double R ranch from Baylor’s aunt and uncle. But Baylor is sweet and easy-going, not to mention sexy, and Wyatt doesn’t know what to make of her. Then a ranch-hand is murdered, and suddenly what Wyatt thought was a simple case of petty thievery becomes a lot more dangerous.

I really enjoyed the initial tension between Wyatt and Baylor. Even though there’s sparks and chemistry from the moment they meet, neither rush into the other’s arms. Wyatt is cautious and wary of Baylor’s connections to the landowners, and Baylor is a bit put off by Wyatt’s keeping her at arms length. I felt this allowed the two of them time to get to know each other and build more than just a physical foundation for their relationship. I also like how the plot wasn’t unraveled immediately. We don’t immediately learn what drove Baylor to stay with her Aunt and Uncle and flee Atlanta and her job, nor do we know the full scope of the plan Wyatt has until well into the story. This kept me eagerly turning the pages and interested in not just the characters and their relationship, but also the larger picture at hand.

I did feel that Lola—another worker at the ranch—was a bit of a cliché, the “other woman” who plays hard-to-get but suddenly turns jealous and hateful at a rival woman coming in. While this did add to the tension and plot, there were a few points where I felt a more subtle hand at the writing could have made this really shine. I was very pleasantly surprised by the plot of a killer running loose and felt the conflict surrounding this was well handled. While it does take second place to Wyatt and Baylor and their growing romance, I do love some mystery and thriller aspects thrown in to strengthen the plot.

All up I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this book. I found the pacing perfect, the characters interesting and the plot was well woven. This book has all the elements of a keeper for me. I’ll definitely be looking into more books written by Ms Nelson.

The power of love: things take a terrifying turn when Mia and Ethan are attacked by a werewolf. Ethan is amazed when Mia reveals her paranormal prowess as she tries to shield them from danger. But can she really protect them from the darkness that lurks? And how can he tell her that, for ages, he’s been denying what he really wants? Mia…

It was supposed to be a simple healing salve.

When Mia agrees to make a healing salve for a mysterious man, she senses there is something different about him. Rather than listening to her instincts, she makes the salve, seeing it as a simple and safe opportunity to practice her magic. Unfortunately, Mia unintentionally wreaks havoc in the werewolf community with her magic, and before she knows it, the lives of her friends and family hang in the balance. Mia must find a way to come to terms with her powers before it is too late.

I definitely felt sorry for Mia and her predicament. Not only is she dealing with angry werewolves and her intense feelings for Ethan, but I also don’t think she’s ever fully embraced her own powers. Mia is basically a doormat. Everyone pushes her around, even her own family. While Mia is unhappy about this, she does very little about it. I have the feeling this has been a pattern in Mia’s life for a long time. I found her behavior very frustrating at first, but as I read, I was very pleased to see Mia take some small steps in developing some self-confidence.

While I enjoyed watching Mia learn to stand up for herself, I must say that I was left wanting much more detail concerning her family history and witchcraft. Ms. Mäkelä indicates that Mia’s grandmother was very powerful, but no one in Mia’s family seems to know anything about the paranormal community. How and when did Mia discover she was a witch? How did Mia connect with her current mentor? Providing these details would have brought the story to life and made it much easier to slip into Mia’s world.

Mia and Ethan spend a lot of time agonizing over their feelings for each other. I found this extremely frustrating because there really weren’t any major obstacles preventing them from having a relationship. Both profess to be worried about how Mia’s family will handle the news, but Mia’s family is loving and very reasonable, and Ethan has been a trusted friend of the family for years. Consequently, this excuse isn’t very compelling. I must also note that this story does contain some graphic language relative to male anatomy as well as some cursing. Readers sensitive to this type of language are forewarned.

Despite these issues, The Witch Who Cried Wolf is a good book. Mia is a sweet character, and the plot is fast paced. Readers looking for a quick, fun read might want to give The Witch Who Cried Wolf a try.

It’s been thirteen years since Lucy Sheridan was in Summer River. The last time she visited her aunt Sara there, as a teenager, she’d been sent home suddenly after being dragged out of a wild party—by the guy she had a crush on, just to make it more embarrassing. Obviously Mason Fletcher—only a few years older but somehow a lot more of a grown-up—was the overprotective type who thought he had to come to her rescue.

Now, returning after her aunt’s fatal car accident, Lucy is learning there was more to the story than she realized at the time. Mason had saved her from a very nasty crime that night—and soon afterward, Tristan, the cold-blooded rich kid who’d targeted her, disappeared mysteriously, his body never found.

A lot has changed in thirteen years. Lucy now works for a private investigation firm as a forensic genealogist, while Mason has quit the police force to run a successful security firm with his brother—though he still knows his way around a wrench when he fills in at his uncle’s local hardware store. Even Summer River has changed, from a sleepy farm town into a trendy upscale spot in California’s wine country. But Mason is still a protector at heart, a serious (and seriously attractive) man. And when he and Lucy make a shocking discovery inside Sara’s house, and some of Tristan’s old friends start acting suspicious, Mason’s quietly fierce instincts kick into gear. He saved Lucy once, and he’ll save her again. But this time, she insists on playing a role in her own rescue . . .

This latest romantic suspense from Ms. Krentz is a real page flipper. It has a body count, surprise villains, suspicious activities and through it all, an attraction rekindles and passion explodes into love. It’s the progression of the plot, the dance of the romance and the dynamics between Mason and Lucy that sealed the deal for me. This is a must read.

I liked how Ms. Krentz set the stage for what would eventually take place later in the book. I enjoyed the sleuthing, the methods used and the wrong turns the hero and heroine took in the book. The dialogue was key in getting to know the main protagonists and internal dialogue provided clues as to one of the possible antagonists. I truly was surprised at the revelation and even then, the author had a surprise for me and Lucy. I never saw it coming. When Lucy did figure it out, it was a rather unique way of doing it, which impressed me. I wonder where the author found out about that profession and what inspired her to use it in this book? However it came about, it worked; it was gripping and effective.

Another aspect that is sure to please readers is the spark. When Mason and Lucy finally reach the combustion point it was very steamy. The sexiest scene in the whole book stems from an impromptu Kegel. I’m not sure why that part had me so flustered but it was powerful and very, very hot. Mason made me melt.

Dialogue between Deke and Mason, Lucy and others really contributed to the feel of the story. They talked and chatted like anyone else would, although not too many would be chatting and making jokes of a dead body. You have to read it to understand why that was effective.

I liked how the suspense and drama kept getting tighter and tighter to the point when I knew something had to give. I enjoyed seeing how Mason and Lucy navigated the pitfalls by drawing upon the life experiences that they had as they became the people they were in the story. That showing of growth was very appealing.

The happily ever after made me laugh. As romantic as it eventually became, the dialogue and interaction between Mason and Lucy is chuckle-worthy up until the end when I sighed with satisfaction. I love a good romantic ending.

River Road is great. With a tale written as well as this one, it’s a fast easy read because every chapter provided more clues, more questions and more of everything that makes a book gripping – so much so I had a hard time putting it down. I highly recommend this latest adventure from the clever mind of Ms. Krentz. It’s a winner.

Emily Greenwood is a new to me author and I’m glad I tried one of her books. The writing flowed well and kept me totally in the story. I needed to know what would happen next. I read this book quickly, but that’s because I couldn’t put it down.

There are a lot of plot twists in this book. Keeping them straight can be a tad hard, but it’s worth the effort. I liked trying to figure out who would end up together and who was better off as friends.

Let me tell you about the characters. Colin, although he’s got his suave and debonair moments, is a bit of a geek. That’s a good thing! I like my heroes a little different. I immediately liked him. I understood his choices, and though I wasn’t keen on all of them, they made him who he was. He was a fine character to read about.

Then there’s Josie. I have mixed feelings about her. As much as I liked her…I didn’t. She’s torn. Her fiance went off to war and according to intel, he’s not coming back. She doesn’t want to stop loving her fiance, but there’s Colin. He’s so handsome and he’s…there! I appreciated her trying to work a love connection for her sister, but there were times I couldn’t root for her. I guess I wanted to conk her on the head and say get real. But that’s a good thing because I was emotionally invested in the story.

If you want a book that’s got fun moments, sweet moments and characters you won’t forget, then this might be the book for you.

These Book Club Belles are ready to put down their novels and find some real-life leading men!

In the sleepy village of Hawcombe Prior, five young ladies of the local book society are reading a salacious romance called Pride and Prejudice. Upon finishing the book, the ladies race to find their own Mr. Darcy, and the handsome, mysterious Darius Wainwright is the perfect mark.

Justina Penny can’t understand why her fellow Belles are starry-eyed in the newcomer’s arrogant presence. But if the town’s only eligible bachelor marries anyone, it should be her sweet, beautiful sister. And it’s up to Justina to make it happen. How could this plan possibly go wrong?

This book tickled my funny bone and touched my heart. Once Upon a Kiss introduced me to Darius Wainwright, a man so stiff in demeanor that a joke goes right over his head. He was a hero that needed a special woman to not only make him unbend and smile, but to help him realize there is more to life than schedules, accounts and routines. Justina is the heroine to do it and I was completely charmed by her.

My first giggle came from the pig escapade. The pig is actually a very pivotal secondary character, sort of. He breaks the ice and by being his cute sweet self, entrenches himself into the affections of a man who would deny that was possible. It’s adorable.
The best tip to gets its faster results, is by taking it an empty stomach or after healthy or low fat meal. discount sale viagra http://deeprootsmag.org/2017/04/18/the-mesmerizing-world-of-music-in-16th-century-convents/ It helps a buy levitra where woman to achieve an orgasm and increases sex lifestyle instantaneously. Study the attractive 3-D animations and be guided with the viagra no prescription help of videos and case studies.
Justina is a young lady who has bits of fancy and imagines herself in a grand adventure. She makes things more ebullient than they really are. She finds joy in the ordinary and makes it extraordinary. In that, she came across as very young and perhaps not quite the person a slightly older, more serious gentleman would take a shine to. And some readers might decide that Justina is too silly to take seriously. I beg to differ. I was a young bride to a man who did not know how to smile on command. He was serious all the time and he once told me that I helped him connect to the joy of life inside. Because of that, I relate to Justina’s character; I believe that she is perfect for Darius and I loved every single minute of their romance.

The strong point of this story is Justina. As I got to know her, and watch her make decisions and see consequences, as I watched her thought process unfold during interesting and entertaining internal dialogues, I saw a young lady growing up to be a woman. She still retained her joie de vivre but it was tempered with a new maturity that complimented her relationship with Darius.

As for Darius, I thrilled at the parts that shared hints of his thawing, of seeing Justina as a woman and how he routinely tried to justify things to himself by claiming that he was only doing what was right, that he was ‘protecting her from herself’. In fact, he was fighting the attraction. As soon as she inspired a full out ear to ear grin from the hero, it was a lost fight. It was a beautiful transition. It was so much fun!

The secondary characters are from the Book Club Belles and I believe Once Upon a Kiss might be the start of a series that follow these young ladies who like to read romances. I guess it was a bit naughty at the time. There was a foreshadowing with one of them and at the end of the book, it looked like it might actually come to pass. If so, it’s extremely intriguing! Talk about an effective hook.

One of the most amusing aspects of this tale is the sensual build up, the teasing and the funny but sexy escapades that Justina and Darius get into. There is not a lot of sex but what there is, is effective, delicious and highly entertaining. I even giggled a few times.

I should mention Miles. As a secondary character and friend of Darius’, he was a terrific addition and a delightful supporting cast member. The same could not be said for Darius’ step sister. What a pompous poser. Ugh.

As for the happy ever after, I’m very satisfied. It ended the way I like, with a lot of important loose ends tied up, and a perfectly wonderful little carrot dangling like a tease for the next book. I can’t wait!

Historical romance fans should snap up their own copy of Once Upon a Kiss. It’s a winner. I enjoyed myself immensely and even though it’s a rather lengthy book, time sort of went ‘poof’. It was pleasant, entertaining and a joy to read. I’m so very glad I read it.

Their passionate encounter is more than Katherine ever expected. And as the cock crow draws near, her body and heart crave more. But Gervais is headed for the gallows…unless fate intervenes.

What would you do if it were your last night on earth? If you are Gervais Hawley, the wealthy son of an earl, and can pay the price, you may have a last wish. And Gervais wishes to have Katherine, who was falsely imprisoned, share his last night. If she agrees, Katherine will have her debt paid, and will be free.

Katherine has no means of ever paying off the debt on her own, so she agrees to spend the night with Gervais. Despite his approaching demise, Gervais expertly seduces Katherine, and they have an amazing night together, even falling a little in love with each other. At dawn, Katherine leaves. Fate, with a helping hand, gives them a chance to see if it was merely a sense of urgency induced chemistry or was there something more, real and potentially lasting between them.

I very much enjoyed the first part of this book, it was unique and touching. I was disappointed to find out the reasons why Gervais committed the acts he did that caused him to be arrested and condemned. They were foolish and immature. Also, it seemed far fetched to me that Katherine could have been jailed for the reason she was. When the couple reunites, reality sets in and they have to decide if they should try to recapture the magic they felt, or go their separate ways. This part of the book dragged a bit for me because both Gervais and Katherine seemed determined to hide their feelings. I wanted them to admit to the connection they had when they thought Gervais was headed for the gallows and I kept reading to see how they would reconcile the love that was between them.

Overall, I enjoyed this short story, and recommend it for the very unique plot line. I like that our hero does some growing up, and is determined to change the way he lives his life.

Readers who love the intrigue and intricacies of a Regency historical with a healthy dose of spice should give this one a try.

Max was her dance partner and boss – so she couldn’t avoid him forever. When they start to dance though, everything else falls away. Maybe there’s a Christmas miracle in the works for Madeline and Max after all.

Steamy and sensual, this is one Christmas story sure to get your blood pounding. Dancing is a very enticing sport and the author does a great job describing the chemistry sizzling between Max and Madeline. There’s a small sub-plot about Madeline’s ex-fiance, which I found realistic and refreshing in that they could argue, but not drag things out. I enjoyed how the author showed the fall out between the two of them but didn’t make it a major distraction, more just tying up loose ends.

I also liked how despite the short length of this story, I really felt as a reader that the emotion, chemistry and connection between Max and Madeline was present. It’s there with their every touch and dance, the magic they create together. I was a bit disappointed that Madeline couldn’t work out her own head and feelings, that she had to resort to other measures. I can’t imagine a woman not being able to think about her own emotions and feelings and sorting them out – so I couldn’t relate to that, but the chemistry and passion she and Max shared made up for that shortcoming.

Sensual and passionate, this short story has plenty of build up and one smoking hot consummation scene toward the end. Readers who like plenty of characterization, a slow burn building to an erotic climax could well be satisfied with this. I thoroughly enjoyed it and about from a few small niggles found myself eagerly turning the pages and seeking more. This is a sizzling hot romance with a traditional and sweet ending. I feel it will appeal to many readers

An agent and a jaguar-shifter chase trouble, and each other, through the jungles of Belize…

Agent Tammy Anderson has a reputation: she prefers to work alone. So when she’s paired up on a mission with jaguar-shifter David Patterson—who’s only recently been released from jail—to say she’s less than thrilled is a understatement. Until she realizes that this sexy agent has what it takes…

Soon, what started as an “easy” mission to locate a missing jaguar takes the pair to Belize, where they’re chasing down two renegade teen shifters who know more than they’re telling. As the action heats up, can they keep their minds on the job and off of each other?

The basic theme of Ms. Spear’s latest adventure is best described by using Urban English: ‘when good guys go bad is when the real good guys are baddest’.

If the good guy was never a good guy but knows all the good guy tricks, it’s going to take a better good guy with serious skills to take him down, right? The trick is to rope in the heroic type into committing himself or herself towards the cause. What would generate the dogged determination and relentless pursuit of the criminal besides basic duty? In this case, a serious dose of lust and sensual intrigue tosses out the fishing line but the hook is set when the threat gets personal, and the pursuit of justice takes on a life of its own. In Jaguar Hunt it’s a solid plot conflict with quite a few surprises in store for readers making it a real page flipper.

Tammy and David spark off of each other early on in the novel. A reader sees them testing each other, feeling out as to what kind of personality each of them has. It’s comical at times, always interesting and it fit in with the movement of the plot. Little things happen, dialogue is exchanged and clues are dropped here and there throughout the story until a reader can finally start guessing who the villain is. I really thought I had it figured out. The joke was on me. I was caught by surprise by a couple of revelations and I loved that.

Secondary characters are extremely important to this plot conflict. Some confounded me, others made me laugh at times and a few had me scratching my head, “how’d they DO that?”. I liked how Ms. Spear wove two of the characters into the plot enough that they affected the hero and heroine. Many times I thought that they were too good at what they did for untrained hooligans, but they amped up the entertainment factor and provided many opportunities for giggles and chuckles. Certainly Tammy and David became exasperated with them at times, but that is what made it so fun.

I think Ms. Spear had way too much fun imagining the waterfall shower scene. By the time I was done reading it, I wanted one too. Whew!

Tammy’s neighbor, Gertie, was a kick. The author used the secondary character to reinforce to the heroine what kind of guy the hero was. Some readers might think Gertie falls into the category of a cliché, but I rather enjoyed the interaction, even more so because of Tammy’s reaction.

When Tammy and David finally scratch their kitty itch, it was hot reading. Readers who anticipate some seriously steamy love action won’t be disappointed. What I liked the best is that Tammy made David work for it. I love to see a man sweat.

One of the things I like about Ms. Spear’s novels is that she takes the time to give her characters depth and emotional complexity. A great example of that skill is the relationship between Tammy and her father. Readers are in for an eye-goggle. It certainly blew me away.

If a reader is in the mood for action, romance, intrigue and exotic locales, then pick up a copy of Jaguar Hunt and get immersed in the adventure. Ms. Spear has a history of writing books that provide solid entertainment and a fun time. Watching Tammy and Dave fall in love was all that and more. Try it and see for yourself.

Mordr is a man who had the unthinkable happen to him when he was human. He lost his family. The how of it is greatly disturbing and I credit Ms. Hill for choosing the one thing that would haunt any man with a conscience. It was therefore completely believable to me that this trauma would affect the rest of his life and unlife. The spike of anger that speared his heart all those centuries ago could only be healed by an equally pivotal moment or event and it comes in the form of Miranda.

Miranda is the heroine who goes from being a single, career-minded woman, to a mother in an instant. As if dealing with kids isn’t challenging enough, their biological father is a whack job who has a criminal bent. What’s a new and frazzled single parent to do? Get a nanny. And the adventure of a lifetime begins.

I liked the sparks that fly between Mordr and Miranda. I liked the kids, their personalities and how everything is woven together. I even laughed about the dog. There is a sweet innocence about it all that survives even when there is depravity and evil intent that tries to complicate their lives in a big way.

Speaking of evil, Jasper and his sexual perversions is back. Because this is a standalone read, the author has to impart upon a new reader just how vile, twisted and disgusting the bad guy is. Since I am well versed in his penchant for depravity after a few books, I skim those parts. They bother me. But a new reader should read them to get a handle on why the vangels are so important and necessary and reading the short shots about Jasper will definitely clue them in. Good MUST win over evil. I won’t accept anything less. Good thing I don’t have to.

One thing bothers me about Mordr – how to say his name. It’s not a big thing but it distracted me a bit. When I tried to Google it, I kept getting references to Lord of the Rings. Not much help. I checked the glossary at the end of the book but there was no help there. I mentally pronounced him More-door, and sometimes More-dra. But no matter what I called him, he sure was a hunky hero.

I liked the growth in each character, their dialogue and their sexy interludes. This story certainly has spice and Ms. Hill used a fair hand in sprinkling the saucy bits where they did the most good. I had a lot of fun reading those scenes.

There is a lot of action, drama and suspense. I kept waiting for one of the bad guys to fulfill his destiny and was surprised to find that someone else was first in line. I was actually kind of glad of that but still, he does have the lemon taint but it never seemed to be acknowledged or mentioned except for the once. It makes me wonder if he’ll be a recurring bad guy. I hope not – I think he could be redeemed. Not as a hero but at least a man who could be turned to the right path. If he’s never reintroduced, then it’s a missed hanging thread.

What isn’t left hanging is the happily ever after. The last two paragraphs had me sniffling in a good way. It was an effective ‘awwww’ moment and it made me happy because it was the perfect complete wrap up to a well written story.

Kiss of Wrath is another winner with a lot of reasons to applaud Ms. Hill’s storytelling prowess. It’s highly entertaining, vibrant and fun. There were moments I gasped, I laughed and giggled and other times I just melted. Of course then there were parts that gave me the willies. Then there was the loving between Mordr and Miranda; their romance was wonderful to watch grow. This is a well told, delightful and exciting story that I’m thrilled to recommend to readers of paranormal romantic suspense.

Sometimes you have to create your own destiny…

Christy Knight grew up in Destiny, Ohio, but lately she feels that her future lies elsewhere. Her parents are gone and the beautiful jewelry she creates doesn’t pay the bills. Maybe it’s time for Christy to grow up and find a guy who’s smart, sexy, and solvent. Her rugged handyman neighbor fits the first two categories, but he’s all wrong for her. If only he didn’t have such captivating blue eyes.

Wary of trusting others, Jack DuVall hasn’t been entirely honest with Christy. He’s not really a handyman. He’s not really broke. And sharing the long drive to visit her beloved grandpa isn’t just about gallantry—he finds gorgeous, feisty Christy completely irresistible.

Do all damsels in distress really need a prince in shining armor to save them or are they capable of getting out of troubles on their own? No, damsels do not need a prince, but they do need support and somebody who believes in them.

All I Want is You is a classic romance novel, with an interesting plot and HEA ending. But there are several things that made this story special for me. First, the characters have a tragic past and both of them lost someone very dear to them, they are scared and very cautious, but they are not dark and gloomy. Second, the message of the story is wonderful and empowering: a girl can feel safe and have great relationship without being saved by the knight in shining armor.

Besides being positive, the main characters are both magnificent, although I liked Christy better than Jack. Christy is so realistic and her development and growth amazed me. At the beginning she was a girl trying to find an easy way out from her financial situation, only to realize that it won’t work that way. By the end of the story she became strong and independent, just the way a modern heroine should be. On the other hand, Jack’s character did not undergo such a dramatic transformation, but his character also changed by the end of the story.

The only thing that diminished my full enjoyment of this story is Christy’s and Jack’s (but especially Jack’s) inner dialogues i.e. their thoughts and doubts. If only they are a bit shorter the story would have flowed much more nicely.

It is also important to mention that All I Want is You features a secondary romance. The secondary romance is well incorporated into the main one. It doesn’t dominate the story, instead it complements it nicely.

Overall I enjoyed All I Want is You. There were some slower parts, but I think this is a story well worth reading.
