Cyrus Ryland didn’t become England’s wealthiest bachelor by being a pushover, but the mysterious beauty he discovers sneaking around at his grand ball enflames his curiosity. When the clock chimes midnight, and she’s nowhere to be found, Cyrus vows to scour all of London to uncover who she is. Little does he know that not only does Claire Mayhew not want to be found, but she wants nothing to do with him at all…

Gina Conkle creates a captivating “Cinderella” story with a twist that is set in late eighteenth century England.

The Lady Meets Her Match sparkles with humor, entices with conversational innuendos, intrigues with undercurrents of evil, and tantalizes with sizzling foreplay and love scenes.

Claire Mayhew and Cyrus Ryland’s first meeting is in semi-darkness where they sit close together and talk as equals. Emotions awaken that neither of them have experienced before. But Claire and Cyrus are at cross purposes, so Claire runs and Cyrus has Bow Street Runners searching for her.

At age sixteen, Cyrus Ryland failed as a farmer and as a provider for his widowed mother and orphaned siblings. But, with his innate entrepreneurial acumen and hard labor, he becomes one of the wealthiest men in England and is known as King of Commerce. However, when he does not kowtow to the wishes of some noblemen, he finds himself and those he loves in danger of losing all they have gained in a society that still holds the rights of nobility sacrosanct.

Gina Conkle weaves together social, financial, and personal issues of that historical time, creating a story that keeps the reader turning pages. How some of the characters, both primary and secondary, wiggle out of scary situations is believable but still amazing. I did wish for one more scene to let me know that one particular antagonist got his comeuppance. GOOD READING!

The search for his missing sister leads him to a woman with secrets that will steal his heart.

The Gangster’s Kiss is set in the Roaring 20’s, and it’s an exciting and sometimes lawless era. Gangsters and the mob had their hands in all walks of life. It was sometimes hard to tell who a person could trust. That’s where the book starts, with good guy John O’Malley going around and doing odd jobs to get the information and connect with the people who could give him answers. One of those ‘odd jobs’ puts him in league with local gangsters but also into the life of the Sheriff’s sister, Grace.

Ms. Ring paints John as a man brought up to always help others. He’s a generous and kind person with a wild side that would both endear and make a woman feel comfortable and protected around him.

Grace comes back home to secrets, death and betrayal. There’s an instant connection between them, chemistry, but it’s not love. Let me be clear, this is not a love at first sight story and is perfect for anyone who does not want to read a love at first sight trope. The chemistry between John and Grace is evident and constant throughout the whole book.

John is an honorable man but more than that he is a family man. It would have been nice to read his life before he went on the hunt for his sister. This is the first book in the series however, it feels like the second book or that I started reading from the middle of the book, which isn’t so.

Despite that, the book was very descriptive with surprises for this reader. The climax was eventful and one that I thought about long after the story ended. I am not an expert on the 20’s era but it was smooth going with a couple of hiccups that for me was shrouded by the atmosphere between John and Grace. I am looking forward to the second book of the series.

Two people coming into their own and finding they’ve got more in common than a marriage certificate–very interesting.

Ms Ashford’s book brought me to tears in good ways. I couldn’t put the book down and needed to know what would happen next. Why? The premise, first of all. Newlywed but strangers? I had to know what that was all about. Mary and John marry, but he’s called away on an offer he can’t refuse. What a jerk, right? He’s redeemable, so don’t let that deter you, but I thought the same thing. And he’s gone for two years. But it’s what happens during those two years and after that makes the story shine.

Mary…the poor girl. She wanted to be what everyone wanted her to be. Talk about a boring life. I cheered when she decided to come into her own and stand up for herself. Granted, this all takes place in a time where women being independent and forthright was frowned upon. A little interjecting of current values? Maybe, but this added spice to the story and I liked it. She finds out she’s happier when she’s herself and that’s a lesson we all should learn.

Then there’s John. Like I said, he comes off as a jerk initially. And why not be a jerk? He’s considered the one member of the family who isn’t suitable for marriage. I mean, how awful! He’s not stupid or witless as he’s thought to be by his family. Again, I liked how this character came into his own. He’s a good guy and smart. Plus, he’s sexy and just what Mary needs. Who can argue with that?

This book proves there might just be someone for everyone and it’s a matter of taking the time to find that person. Enjoyable, indeed.

Lord Philippe Lavay once took to the high seas armed with charm as lethal as his sword and a stone-cold conviction: he’ll restore his family’s fortune and honor, no matter the cost. Victory is at last within reach–when a brutal attack snatches it from his grasp and lands him in Pennyroyal Green.

An afternoon of bliss brings a cascade of consequences for Elise Fountain. Shunned by her family and ousted from a job she loves, survival means a plummet down the social ladder to a position no woman has yet been able to keep: housekeeper to a frighteningly formidable prince.

The bold and gentle Elise sees past his battered body into Philippe’s barricaded heart…and her innate sensuality ignites his blood. Now a man who thought he could never love and a woman who thought she would never again trust must fight an incendiary passion that could be the ruin of them both.

Though sildenafil canada online seems to be a miracle for men’s facing erectile issues. What are the types Kamagra is available in? It is generic tadalafil canada basically manufactured in three different forms of consumption like tablet, jelly, soft tab the medication is still making men thankful to it. Elise Fountain made the mistake of falling in love with the wrong man. She trusted that her lover was honorable, but soon found herself abandoned and with a child on the way. Her shocked family cast her out, but the school where she taught kept her on. She had a relatively good life there, until a vindictive patron of the school had her dismissed. Now homeless and jobless, she has applied for the position of housekeeper in the residence of Lord Lavay.

Philippe is a French aristocrat with very blue blood, who lost many family members, as well as property in the revolution. His sole ambition has been to earn enough funds to buy back his family’s estate, and to provide for his remaining family. He is close to his goal, but a vicious attack left him near death, and unable to continue in his service to the king. He is recuperating in the village of Pennyroyal Green, but his injuries are very severe, and with no income, he still lacks the money he needs to purchase his former home. The deadline is looming before the estate goes to another buyer. He may have no choice but to go forward with marriage to the heiress his family has long expected him to wed.

Philippe has little expectation that the latest housekeeper will fare any better than the last several. His penchant for throwing objects, and the lazy, disobedient servants have sent the last several running away. Elise, however, applies techniques she used as a teacher to the ragtag staff, and soon begins to whip them into shape. She also realizes that the distant, and sometimes angry, Lord Lavay is still in considerable pain. Elise’s father is a doctor, so she’s soon preparing healing tea, and providing advice on how to help Philippe’s severely injured hand. As his household and his own health improves, Philippe begins to pay more attention to the lady who made these miracles occur.

Rarely have I ever fallen in love with both the hero and heroine so completely and so quickly. Elise’s one mistake changed the course of her whole life. Yet, though her lover and her family turned away from her, and fate was definitely not kind, she retained her strength of character, her convictions, her compassion, and her kindness. She’s a wonderful mother, and is raising her son to be kind and full of joy. Philippe, while a product of his noble upbringing, is never unkind, or consciously “top-lofty.” His reserve and occasional anger are caused by his situation and his limitations. He does retain an air of command around Elise as her employer, but it’s not meant as belittling. They begin to converse, and soon, each is taking pleasure in being able to coax a smile (or an “almost” smile) from the other. I was delighted when Elise finally drew a full joyful laugh from Philippe.

There were so many wonderful scenes, small moments that added up to their falling in love. One in particular that I love is when Elise catches a servant about to steal one of the objects Philippe managed to smuggle out France. She is so passionate and eloquent in her defense of Philippe, that I was hoping he was in the background able to hear it. And he was. And it was beautiful.

Philippe understands love for his family, but he can’t define the feelings he has for Elise. Love toward a woman is a foreign concept to him. He can’t quite comprehend his jealousy toward the man who is the father of her child. Since Elise has been in love once before, she recognizes what is happening to her. She knows that she is a passionate woman, and that she’s in danger of making a second mistake. She finds the strength to refuse Philippe’s advances. Philippe feels hurt by her rejection, but feels confident that she will soon become his lover. Observing Philippe eventually come to the realization of what “home” and “love” truly mean was magnificent.

While the time period covered by this book was relatively short, the characterizations were done in great depth, and the romance progressed slowly and believably. It Started With a Scandal was so well written that I resented time I had to spend away from the book to attend to things like work. The words just flowed, and I was truly enchanted by this heartwarming, passionate, and romantic book. Everything about this book worked for me, and it is my favorite of all the excellent works penned by Julie Anne Long. Though it’s early in the year, I can guarantee this will be on my “Best of 2015” list, and it receives my highest recommendation.

Warily accepting an invitation to the Montana ranch that belongs to her grandfather, a man she’s never met, Gillian hopes this is the haven she seeks. A sexy, overbearing cowboy who shines a light on her well-hidden dreams is not at all part of her plans.

Blake Bowden’s reckless past is far behind him, and as a newly named co-owner of Three Peaks Ranch, he’s not taking any chances. Until a beautiful, haunted woman arrives, igniting a desire he shouldn’t feel. His partner’s granddaughter is strictly off limits. But the longer Gillian’s there, the stronger the pull grows between them. And when a new danger surfaces, Blake will do anything to keep her safe…even if it means risking everything for her heart.

When Gillian was at her lowest point in life, the goodness of the family she didn’t even know she had changed everything for the better.

The journey Gillian went through was inspiring. As a character, she was a lovely mix of resilience and gentleness. The fact that her sole focus was the wellbeing of her brother portrayed her as a selfless, courageous and tender woman. Her love for her brother was one of the sweetest aspects of the novel. I was expecting a bit more tension between her and her grandparents initially, but Bud and Dee were portrayed a bit too sweet to allow for any depth in their relationships.

After the tumultuous beginning and a lot of suspense, the novel experiences a slump in pace towards the middle, but it picks up at the end, culminating in a scene that is both sweet and tragic, thanks to Ken, a character who is fascinating because of how thoroughly bad he is.

Blake, as sexy and strong as he is, didn’t convince me as the hero of this story. While I understood his need to protect Gillian, he was often pushy and overbearing, answering questions and making decisions instead of her etc. His best scenes are with Justin, rather than with Gillian. His friendship with her brother felt a lot more genuine than his attraction to her. The words ‘I love you’ are repeated too often by the end of the novel they begin to feel empty and fake. There’s no real tension between Blake and Gillian and that is why I felt no chemistry between them.

The gentleness that Gillian is capable despite growing up in a family fraught with abuse is the highlight of this novel. She grows into her new family and into a gentle relationship with Blake, finally realizing she can have a happy ending, too.

Claudia’s plan to stage her own ruination and escape marriage to the churlish and elderly Sir Saint had seemed foolproof. She was sure the kindly Henry wouldn’t mind helping her out … but somehow she hadn’t counted on him actually proposing.

Their illicit encounter awakens feelings long buried for each. Will this preposterous scheme result in a happier ending than either could have hoped for?

Claudia Baxter has a problem. She’s about to be married off to an aging dandy, and she has to find a way to get out of it. Her parents are determined to see her settled, so drastic action is called for. Her twin brother’s dear friend (and her childhood companion) Henry De Vere has come to visit. When they were children, Claudia always took part in their games and escapades, in fact, she was the instigator of many of them. So now, she concocts a plan. She will sneak into Henry’s bed, and make it appear that she is ruined, so her elderly suitor will reject her. What Claudia doesn’t know is that Henry has suffered from sleepwalking for most of his life, which has put him in a lot of precarious, embarrassing, and dangerous situations. Only recently has Henry begun to believe that the problem is going away. Now Henry wakes to find Claudia in his bed, the whole household is awoken and crowds into his room, believing the worst. The “props” that Claudia used make it appear that not only was she ruined, but tortured in the process. Henry believes the worst, that he ravaged Claudia while he was sleepwalking and is filled with guilt and self loathing.

Henry is such a dear man, my heart broke to see him suffering. He was so filled with remorse and anxious to put everything right. Making it worse is the fact that Henry has been attracted to Claudia, but never acted on it because of his sleeping disorder. He felt that he was not safe to be around, so he planned never to marry. He now offers to marry Claudia right away, but he has become a villain, and is banished from the Baxter household. I had a harder time with Claudia and her scheme. She went ahead with her plan without letting Henry know, and then, even when they had a chance to talk together before Henry had to leave, she didn’t tell him the truth. I found her a little weak for just not turning down the marriage her parents were trying to arrange in the first place.

Once Henry accidentally stumbled into what really happened, he concocted a scheme to get back at Claudia. While I’m not a fan of paybacks, unless it’s at the villain’s expense, I did feel that Henry deserved to get some of his own back. It was this painful incident that finally made Claudia realize just what she had done, and the consequences for Henry. Despite these reservations, the book did make for a unique and entertaining read. If you enjoy a historical romp, or a little madcap short story, Truth Within Dreams will fit the bill.

A man of few words, Boris has a firm way of saying No, but this determined vixen knows he’s her mate. Despite some less than subtle overtures, Jan has not had much success in getting her bullheaded moose to notice her, but all that changes when her life is put in danger.

It will take some subtle maneuvering to outfox her moose into admitting he loves her, but this wily vixen is more than ready for the challenge. And if that doesn’t work, momma’s offered to loan her the shot gun used for her own engagement.

Moose puns are fun. One of the things I’ve noticed about Ms. Langlais’s stories is her clever and chuckle-worthy use of animal appropriate metaphors and dialogue. I found myself laughing or giggling when I least expected it many times throughout reading Outfoxed by Love.

This story picks up where the first book left off, but coming from Jan’s point of view. The story is told in both the hero and heroine’s POV so I was able to see how their internal crises affected them and the domino effect it had on the people and environment around them. I’d say this book could be a standalone read but why would someone not want to have the full effect? I think I enjoyed this story more because I had read the first one.

Boris, the hero, is full of himself. He’s confident in his skills and abilities and he’s equally confident that he’s so emotionally damaged by his torture and captivity that he’s no good for any woman, especially the fox of his dreams, Jan. He’s the epitome of a tortured hero – with a snarky sarcastic streak.

Jan isn’t a fox in name only; she’s got the claws to prove it. The heroine also has an epiphany – she’s been courting her moose all the wrong way. Once she figures that out, the fur flies and the moose bellows sound and I was highly entertained.

What Jan didn’t count on, and what had me snickering at Boris’s and hers embarrassment and discomfort, was the arrival of Jan’s parents. They were a great addition to the story and added an extra fun factor to the plot. Her dad is also a very sneaky guy and has some serious skills of his own bordering on scary. I was most impressed. The heroine’s mom is no slouch either. In my review of the first book in the series, Kodiak’s Claim I met Gene, the villain. I had an issue with his badness because I saw hints of something redeemable. I wasn’t the only one because Jan’s mom saw it too and I was tickled that Gene might be able to be saved. I had my doubts with the big battle though. There was a lot of blood spilled and I thought for sure he was going to meet his end as all evil villains should.

Dastardly deeds aside, the romance between Boris and Jan was cute, frustrating, funny and exciting. When Boris finally gets over himself and allows himself to lose control with his lovely fox, sparks and fireworks exploded and, because the writing was so well done, was excellent to read and highly enjoyable, not to mention very sensual and spicy, I had fun.

There is another underlying plot thread that Gene was directly involved with in the first book and it carried over into Outfoxed by Love. However, it gets twisted and Gene does something that makes me think Jan’s mom’s assessment is spot on. Only time will tell, but now I’m very excited to read the next book in the series.

Outfoxed by Love sure kept me on the edge of my seat, especially when the battles were fought. I enjoyed watching Boris rescue Jan and her rescue him right back. They’re a great couple and totally made this book worth reading. Ms. Langlais has a great thing going so far with this series and I can’t wait to read more. I feel like a kid who’s discovered a new flavor of candy and can’t get enough.

Tammy is convinced men are all scum, even gorgeous ones like Reid Carver. She knows he’s hiding something. Something big. She just never expected a real freaking bear hid underneath all those muscles. But when the truth comes out and he tries to scare her off with a roar, she shows him not just bears have bite.

I enjoy discovering new romances. Especially if they are paranormal and deal with hunky were-bears and then turn out to be the first of many new treasures of an undiscovered series. I don’t know if it’s the growly gruff hero or the fact the heroine shot him in the butt, but I totally enjoyed myself reading Kodiak’s Claim.

Tammy is a most unusual heroine. She is not afraid of guns, growls or long Alaskan nights. She has a mom who drives her nuts and a job that ends up sending her to her destiny. I like how she likes herself as she is and isn’t afraid to give a pie her full attention. She’s a heroine who really appeals to me.

Reid is an alpha were-bear who is incredibly dominant, assertive and is rough around the edges. He is all about serving and protecting his clan. Basically, he is a very serious man. Until Tammy slams into his life. Oh my gosh! – the things she did to him? I laughed and laughed!

As with most paranormal stories with critters that have fangs and claws, there is an element of violence and threat that comes with the territory. It’s true here but the villain is a question mark for me. He’s thwarted in this story but is left as a dangling thread. The thing is, how the author chose to handle it left me on the fence regarding sympathy – is he a potential anti-hero? One thing is for sure, I’m solidly curious and fascinated. The villain is worthy of the title but there’s much more simmering under the surface and it’s a great hook for further reading.

Another great hook comes from the supporting cast that surrounds Reid. Boris is a man who has many secrets and issues. In this tale he is depicted as a wild card, an efficient killer if he has to be. A good man to have in your corner and I’m glad he’s one of the good guys. Reid’s grandmother is a hoot. I snort every time they mention the respect for the spoon.

As fun as this book is, there are a few things that I felt weren’t explained enough for me to accept. The natural wolves for instance. I can’t imagine them doing what they did without some kind of woo-woo factor yet no explanation was truly provided to make me believe their actions. I don’t think I’ve ever read a story where they are used in quite this way and I wasn’t convinced as to why they’d go against their nature. And, although Tammy sort of liked Reid’s high-handedness, and when she didn’t she gave him what-for about it, there were times the hero came across as a bossy jerk that no amount of the heroine’s melting for him made it fine with me. I think she should have looked for other kitchen utensils to use on him. Even with her propensity for kitchen violence, Reid and Tammy get their HEA and it’s as fun as it is surprising.

All in all, Kodiak’s Claim is a wonderful addition to my paranormal romance addiction. I had fun, I laughed and I enjoyed getting to know everyone at Kodiak Point. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Brandon Dewhurst, a doctor who saw too much death in the war, has a difficult time with the procuring of fresh bodies for research. But he sees the value of what is gained from dissecting, examining, and recording the findings for the advancement of medical knowledge that will help doctors learn more about how to treat future patients.

Neither Lorna nor Brandon like the position they are put in. Yet, each of them perseveres as a means to an end. As they deal with Society, friends, resurrectionists, and lurking danger, love slips in, ignoring the gruesomeness that assaults the senses in the scenes that deal with dead bodies and the rivalry among grave robbing gangs.

The love scenes take the reader where the senses are heightened in a very different way. Also, the scenes with friends, both new and old, reveal very different facets of Brandon and Lorna. Their true personalities seem to surface.

How Elizabeth Royce weaves together gruesome dealings, mores of early nineteenth century England, along with loyalty, and love, in order to create a love story with a happy-ever-after, makes unusual, interesting reading.

Not Nina Alexander that’s for sure. With her best gracious loser face firmly in place, Hollywood’s hottest starlet is hoping to end her evening of disappointment with a graceful exit stage left. Only an unexpected proposal and an awkward wardrobe malfunction mean that this is certainly going to be a night to remember… for all the wrong reasons! So what girl would resist the gorgeous Dominic Kelly coming to her rescue?! Especially when he’s whisking her out of the paparazzi’s prying eyes on the back of his motorbike – and wearing a tux to rival James Bond!

Nina soon realises that the only way to recover from such a scandal is to toughen up and snag the role of the decade in the year’s hottest YA screen adaptation. Who better to train her than her very own professional stuntman? Getting up close and personal with Dom will take Nina well out of her comfort zone – both professionally and in her closely scrutinized private life. But this A-list couple know only too well that’s it not all happy ever afters in Hollywood…

When a man has erectile dysfunction, he viagra prescription buy does not get enough blood to achieve an erection, which is why your erectile function gets affected. I’m a bit skeptical of Hollywood romance stories, but this one turned out to be a great read.

Nina, as the star of the book and in Hollywood, was painted very realistically. She was in turn selfish and vain and deep and warm, with both aspects of her character written believably and surprisingly not mutually exclusive. Her painful past led her to find refuge in the shallow world of celebrities. Everything there is safe because it doesn’t include any emotional attachment; people are your friends only as long as you pay them or they need you to give them a boost in their career. There was no danger for her to get attached to someone and then lose them.

But she can’t escape emotional attachment when she meets stuntman Dominic Kelly. Sure, they have a business arrangement that says he’ll train her for the most coveted role at the moment, nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately for Nina, this entails a whole lot more. But it’s also more for Dominic who’s not used to women staying until morning. But Nina, to hide from the paps, practically moves into his house. And them spending all their time together gets them to lower their defenses.

The pressures of stardom – and also the benefits of it – were shown very realistically, I thought. It was a wonderful image of what actors and actresses have to go through for their careers. The constant scrutiny, the ridiculous demands, the media – it all forces them to shut themselves from the world even more. But I also loved the scenes on the beaches because the author managed to paint the landscape very vividly, too.

My only objection was to how often Nina liked to repeat that she is selfish and vain. I realize this was part of her trying to convince herself that she didn’t need anything else but the public’s adoration and attention, but the frequency of her claims somehow clashed with the rest of her characterization.

I loved the slow progression of their relationship; how their feelings for each other blossomed quietly and unnoticed until it was too late. That final ‘complication’ was the ultimate test of their characters. And they passed with flying colors.

Not a fairy tale is a heart-warming story that shows the other side of Hollywood stars and paints them as people like us. It will make you want to read the other novels in the series.
