Searching the beach for washed-up treasures, Abigail Quinn never expects to rescue a mysterious stranger. It’s 1814 and war with England rages on the land and sea. With her husband a victim of the British invaders, Abigail fears the stranger’s arrival can only mean danger to the people of Lobster Cove.

The wear particles from the Metal-on-Metal hip implants have been the cause of debate and discussion of health experts as it was very effective and successful in treating men with thorough efficacy. viagra sale mastercard is one such drug that can be used for treating erectile dysfunction. But seeking his true identity may bring the end of his future with Abigail. Or, worse–the end of his life.

Will the stranger on the beach bring Abigail love or more loss?

Abigail is a very easy character to like. She is a gentle soul prefers to keep to herself, but doesn’t hesitate to help someone in need. Abigail loves her brother and his family and she appreciates their offer to let her live with them, but Abigail prefers to do things her own way and in her own time. I liked that her brother never forces her hand, but is there to support her when she needs it. Abigail doesn’t mind living on her own, but when William enters her life, she begins to realize how much she misses the close companionship she shared with her husband. Abigail takes a huge risk in taking William into her home. I must give Abigail credit for her bravery and kindness during such a tumultuous time in history. I eagerly immersed myself in Abigail’s story hoping for a happy ending.

William is exactly the kind of man Abigail needs in her life. He doesn’t try to replace Caleb, Anna’s lost husband, but it is clear that William and Anna are kindred spirits. They settled into an easy routine with each other in just a few days. As I watched their relationship blossom, I knew their connection was more than just loneliness on Anna’s part, and William being grateful for her care. They simply felt right together.

I do think the mystery was resolved rather rapidly. As I read, I predicted fairly accurately how the story would end. The explanation of William’s identity and how he ended up in Lobster Cove is all wrapped up quickly and neatly and without too much fuss. William and Abigail do face danger from the British as well as a nefarious character in Lobster Cove, but this is much less of an issue than I anticipated. Drawing out one of these conflicts would have added more suspense to this mystery.

I enjoyed reading Storm of the Heart. Abigail and William have a warm and wonderful romance, and it is very easy to cheer for their happy ending. I recommend Storm of the Heart to anyone looking for a heartwarming tale with a dash of suspense.

Now, two decades later, he’s back in her life as the military doctor looking after her daughter!

As shared memories float to the surface, Jessi and Clint can no longer deny their longing for each other. Could it be that second time around, one night will become forever?

After kissing bad boy Clinton Marks twenty two year ago, Jessie Riley never would have imagined he would be the military doctor treating her daughter. Will they be able to pick up where they left off years ago?

I enjoyed the dedicated widow mom tending to her daughter’s well being. An inspiration to see that after her husband’s death, Jessie Riley had a small child but still was able to remain dedicated to becoming a doctor. The writing was in readable detail and the editing was of good quality. The hospital events where Jessie works was brief but entertaining.

This was not a page turner for me. The plot didn’t really have much excitement for my taste. There was a lot of reference to Jessie and Clinton’s past during high school but not much building on a relationship at the present time. I didn’t feel the attraction or vibes between the two. There wasn’t any romance, or twist to the story. Pretty much just straight into the relationship like twenty two years hadn’t passed. They have matured and lived but to me it stood out that they weren’t connecting as the present people that they are now. The book gave the impression they were still going by feelings from twenty two years ago. Quite frankly I’m not sure what feelings because they didn’t even date in high school.

Reconciling the past is always good. Two souls having reconnected and moving on to a future together is an encouraging heart warming read. Two characters that are making a living caring and tending to others medical need, now a second chance has presented itself and they have found each other and able to accept the mistakes from their past. Will they be able to build a future together?

Though the book won’t go down as a favorite of mind it’s still one I could recommend to those the like a book that is easy and enjoyable to read.

What better popular event to bring two lonely souls together than a historical Mardi Gras parade? When eight year old Allie falls Dr. Mark Clayborn was there in the streets of Mobile to clean and bandage her small injury. This chance meeting is just the start of many other meetings for adults Laura Akins and Mark Clayborn.

This was a story I enjoyed reading. The relationship between Laura and Mark was a pleasure to read and follow along. Mark is a southern gentleman who won my heart. Laura was pretty standoffish but that didn’t stop Mark. With many suggestions from Mark and the help of Allie, Laura finds herself in the presence of Mark quite often. With Mark’s charm you knew she was bound to soften to his advances.

The author didn’t just create a simple love story of boy meets girl but added life events that both Laura and Mark were dealing with. The way they were placed together to compliment each other during a time of healing and growth as individuals was touching. They each knew the right words to say and when and how to say them. Their relationship began to have value and I could appreciate reading this type of relationship growth.

The characters are strong and caring in this book.I admired Laura for being a strong woman to carry on after her husband left her not only without a husband but her pride wouldn’t allow her to ask for help from her wealthy family. She is an independent hard working single mother that finds it on her heart to help other single mothers.

This is truly a book of redemption and one that I would highly recommend to those that enjoy a good romance that leaves you with a happy lifted feeling.

The moment Raven saw Amanda’s picture, he had suspicions. Now that he’s seen her in person, he’s certain. She is his truebond, though it will take a delicate, feather-light touch to bring her into his world.

Love takes wing faster than a bird in flight. But when the Dark Queen sends agents to destroy him, Raven finds himself in a desperate fight to protect all he holds dear . . . or the Dark Queen may succeed where so many others have failed.

Never More is the next book in Dana Marie Bell’s Gray Court series. It is Raven and Amanda’s story, but there is a wedding in the works, for Robin and Michaela as well.

Acting as the best man at his father’s wedding, Raven Goodfellow is determined to make sure the day goes perfectly. After all, it isn’t every day that Robin Goodfellow, AKA The Hob, finds his truebond and agrees to a human ceremony for her family. The ceremony will be held at the Dunne farm, and Raven wants to make sure everything is secure and safe. When he meets Michaela’s wedding planner, Amanda Pierson, he realizes she is the blonde woman that he has been dreaming about, Ruby Dunne’s best friend. He also realizes something else; Amanda is something he never thought he would have, his truebond. But before he can act on the information, he discovers a plot to frame him for murder, and tie it to a threat to his father and Michaela. Now, Raven has to find a way to protect Amanda, stop his brother from killing him, defuse a djinn death trap and make sure his father’s wedding goes off without any problems. Oh, and hope Robin doesn’t put him in a pastel tuxedo for the wedding. Can Raven convince Amanda that he is meant to be her true mate, and she his? Will she think he is insane, or accept the supernatural beings around her? Can Raven and the rest of the wedding party keep disaster at bay for the day?

These books are set in the ‘real world’ but have paranormal overtones of the fae, vampires and shifters. I like this world, where human and other live together, and occasionally fall in love with each other. I enjoy each visit to this world, catching up on the families that have become friends of mine as Ms. Bell continues to expand this community of diverse beings.

Raven Goodfellow is the dark and handsome son of Robin Goodfellow, and still can’t believe that he has been accepted by the one man he thought had sold him. He wants what his father has found, the love of a good woman, but he believes it is not in his future to be loved. Until he meets Amanda, and she throws his world in turmoil. He quickly discovers he needs to protect and cherish her, like his father does Michaela. He was once the Dark Queen’s most formidable weapon, now he will use those powers to protect and defend those he cares about. I love Raven’s unswerving loyalty to those he care about, and his determination to protect and defend those weaker than he is. I loved watching as he worked to convince Amanda he wasn’t crazy at all, just something different.

Amanda Pierson is Ruby Dunne’s best friend in the world, and she has no idea that these attractive people she is planning a wedding for are more than human. When Raven tells her about the hidden reality for most of them, she thinks he is crazy, and is sad, because she was attracted to him more than any man before. But Amanda doesn’t do crazy, and is ready to ignore her feelings, until Raven shows her his ‘other’ self, and tells her about the world around her. I like Amanda and her quirky sense of humor, and her independent nature. I like that she is willing to accept the proof when confronted, and her courage in the face of danger.

There is danger around every corner in this one. There is the trap set by Raven’s evil brother at the site of the ceremony, there is the plot to frame Raven for the fae murders, and there is also a death threat to Raven from the Dark Queen. But there is also lots of humor, laughter and passion in this one, and a side of Raven and Liam (aka Big Red) that shows a lighter side of both men. There are all kinds of paranormal beings to discover; fae, leprechauns, dragons, mer folk, vampires and many more, living, laughing and falling in love. And there is the Wedding of the Ages for Robin and Michaela, and I was delighted to meet Michaela’s human family in this…her sister and two brothers, who became an integral part of the family quite easily. I enjoy each new episode of Ms Bell’s Gray Court series, and look forward to the next one with little patience. I recommend this for all those who loved fairy tales and fantasies, and want them to be just a bit more grown up.

A man out of time…

Dante Lucerne is shocked to find himself pulled from certain death and carried to another time and continent. The new world is full of wonders, not the least of which is the woman who saved him.

A twist to the legendary tale of the Phantom of the Opera, but this time it will have a ending that any romantic would love.

I was very much curious when I first read the synopsis. I have heard so much about the Phantom of the Opera and most of these tales don’t really have a happy ending. Not for me at least. But Miss Chandler has spun a tale wholly different to anything I could have imagined.

Elsa is special. She’s a writer with an ability to travel through time using artifacts such as paintings and rings and such. During one of these travels she brings back the Phantom of the Opera or in other words, she brings back Dante Lucerne to the future with her.

When Dante opened his eyes he has traveled a century to a time period which he can build a new life for himself. He finds that the a lot has happened in a century. Now, he has to learn not only how to talk correctly but also driving and other actions that would make his life easier.

Wandering Soul is a story that’s well known but is also a retelling of a possible future or the ending, I suppose. Phantom of the Opera is a classic and has many different versions, but so far this one is my favorite because there are my two main genres: Contemporary and Paranormal.

For paranormal lovers this will be a treat but for any readers who do not necessarily read paranormal, this book may surprise them because Wandering Soul is what I would call paranormal-light. The paranormal element is there, it moves the story along, but it isn’t the main focus.

Dante and Elsa have a passion that flares every now and then. And during Dante’s “getting to know the future” phase they get to spend a lot of time together and just form a bond that I am pretty sure would weather a lot in the upcoming future. The question that I had in my head while reading was, would they be able to let go of their past to build a future for themselves?

Wandering Soul was a surprise read. The characters, the main and the secondary, had depth and shades that I loved reading about. It had twists and turns that most readers are sure to love.

Anything can happen during a vacation.

There’s something to be said for a romance that develops slowly. I appreciated how slowly this part of the plot unfolded. The main character developed her crush quickly, but her reasons for feeling that way were reasonable and genuine. Instant infatuations work best for me as a reader when the characters involved in them seem to be aware of how much time has actually passed and that they don’t yet know everything about each other. This tale fulfilled every single one of these requirements. That made it really easy for me to hope that Rochelle and Poppy would end up together.

The flashbacks to Poppy’s earlier relationships were interesting, but they happened so frequently that they distracted my attention from the main plot. They also made me wonder why the author was spending so much time showing the reader what happened in the past. It would have been helpful to have more clues about why these flashbacks were so important to what was currently going on in the main character’s life.

All of the French food in this story sounded amazing. Including small details like what a real croissant should taste like or how the portion sizes of certain dishes differ from what someone in the United States would probably expect to see on their plate was a good decision. Not only did it make me hungry, it made it really easy to immerse myself in what Poppy was experiencing.

The Peach and the Poppy is a good choice for anyone who is in the mood for a modern romance novel that just might sweep them off their feet.

By the time she’s sixteen, Telluride Marshall is tired of running away from bad men with her sex kitten mother. On the road from Maine to Florida, Tellie tries to talk sense to Kittie about the stolen Porsche and the thousands of dollars taken from her abusive ex. Mother and daughter are destined to clash–and to share some wild ride adventure.

Telluride Marshall loves her mother, but that doesn’t make the teenager blind to her faults. The relationships her mother has with numerous men might always start good, but there’s always the same problem. Her mother has a habit of picking men who beat her. And all too soon Telluride would be woken in the middle of the night, given two or three minutes to dress and grab a few essentials, and then they’d both be moving on again. But this time Telluride – and her mother in particular – have bitten off more than they could chew. Cleaning out her latest boyfriends safe and stealing his 1964 collectable Porsche, this time they might run, but Telluride was fairly certain Kevin – or his goons – would follow. And he wouldn’t be happy.

I found this to be a very interesting book. Set back in 1989, Telluride is sixteen and looking forward to taking her SATs and finally having the freedom to start her own life. All that changes, however, when her mother – yet again – wakes Telluride up in the middle of the night and insists they both run away. What follows is a road trip unlike any other I’ve read before. While I felt some sympathy for Telluride’s mother, Telluride’s antagonism towards her, and her many, varied and strongly unflattering thoughts made this story a far cry from the usual “girls road trip” sort of story.

I was also very surprised by the fact that I, personally, found there to be zero romance at all in the story. Yes, there were some off-screen sexual shenanigans from Telluride’s mother and a few different men. And there was plenty of sex discussed – in the general form of Telluride recalling/recounting her mother’s various past boyfriends – but there was no hero in this story. No slow building (or fierce and fiery) love match, no romantic happily ever after and indeed no real “romance” at all. It’s important to note this did not change my enjoyment of the story. But I did find it a bit odd that a book marketed to me as a romance had no actual romance in it.

My main criticism actually came from some of Telluride’s character herself. Despite the fact that for all except the last few pages Telluride is a teenager, I feel it important readers are not fooled by her age. This is in no way a YA novel to my mind. Telluride is far older than her short years, and more mature than many adults, her mother included. I found it a little startling just how honest, and jaded in some respects that she came across. While many girls her age are dreaming of college, gossiping about boys and studying for exams, Telluride wishes for some stability. Much of her cynicism comes out when she talks of how promiscuous her mother is, easily mentioning things like how she’d open her lips and “swallow down” all her boyfriends’ lies, or how easily she’d rush back to an abusive ex “with open legs” and many similar comments. While I didn’t find Telluride’s comments mean or angry, they certainly spoke to a teenager far older than her years and certainly a little cynical when it comes to sex. I’ve never read anything with a similar heroine and while fresh and different, it wasn’t precisely comfortable as a romantic read either.

Overall I found this to be a very interesting “coming of age” style story, and also a good “road trip” style of story. While both flawed to my mind, Telluride and her mother are interesting, engaging characters and they clearly carry the story. Die-hard romance fans might want to give this one a miss, but readers interested in a different style of story might find this to be a hidden gem.

Love scenes sizzle.

However, Rafe senses all is not right with Olivia, who has a highly trained guard dog, plus she never speaks of her past and avoids his questions about it. He gets his brother Nick to check her out.

As they deal with would-be terrorists, and the fallout from an innocent picture of a party posted on Facebook, plus the information Nick gleans, Olivia seems to get more boxed in minute by minute. How they deal with the situation makes breathtaking and, sometimes, adrenaline-pumping reading.

Kat Martin weaves a tapestry of a tale with dark, dark, threads of antagonists on a mission that could create another “9-11” along with dark threads of a different shade from Olivia’s past. These dark threads threaten to overpower, but cannot dim the bright threads of friendship, love, and hope. Ms. Martin’s weaving shows the beauty of the Alaskan setting as she weaves in a few sub-plots that enhance the main plot while never ceasing to work in the bright golden threads of a love that has “toe-curling” moments.

This captivating story sweeps the reader along with loyal friends and family, with danger that lurks, and, best of all, with love that finally sparkles with happiness. GOOD reading!

The chemistry between Lavender and Diego was so sweet and bubbly. At times it felt as though neither one of them had ever had a crush before due to their lighthearted approach to the idea. The author did a good job showing the audience some of the reasons why these people might make a good match. They seemed to have similar personalities and interests, both of which are things I look for when trying to figure out if I think two characters should end up together.

With that being said, their relationship moved far too quickly. I could completely understand why they would feel infatuated with each other, but I had trouble figuring out why they said certain things to one another. The plot takes place over an incredibly short amount of time. Had their interactions been spaced out, these conversations between them and the intensity of their emotions would have made more sense.

There’s something to be said for a well-thought out-ending. I wondered how the author was planning to wrap everything up as I approached the final pages. Ms. Carter knows her characters well, though, and I was pleased with how she approached the last scene in particular. It fit in well with everything else that had happened earlier on in the plot.

I’d recommend Be My Queen to anyone who believes in love at first sight.

But when she inevitably learns what he’s hiding—or rather, what’s hiding inside her—she wonders if her love for him is real, or an illusion created by the demon’s lust.

Eban is losing the battle to hold his rising desire in check. There may be only one way to extricate Beryl from the beast entangling her mind. Call upon his demon blood…and offer it as a sacrifice.

“They’d been conceived in love, they battled demons, but their blood ran thick with barely controlled evil”

This is the second book in the series depicting the story of the second brother, Eban. This series is solely focused on the three Heckmaster brothers who are half demon. Their father is a full-fledged demon who fell in love with a human.

There is a history in all the three books, which mainly comprises of what happened to their parents and their only sister. If you want to know more about all of this I would very much recommend for any reader to start from the first book, Wystan.

All of the brothers are very different from each other. Eban is a healer at heart. Fighting is not what he likes though he is good at it like his brothers. His heart is for healing people. I think this is where his urge to get the demon residing in Beryl comes from. He has a soft spot for Beryl though in his mind he still think himself in love with Rhia who is married to his elder brother, Wystan.

This book begins where Rhia and Wystan got married and left for their honeymoon, leaving Beryl in charge of the school and the classes including their otherworldy children or students.

Eban is bent on making sure Beryl lives, no matter the consequences. Their relationship did start with friendship though it wasn’t merely that for Beryl. However, their chemistry is at first very light. I could almost take it for lust. But at some point the passion and chemistry becomes difficult to ignore.

I loved the ending immensely. It was unexpected but not disliked in any way. I liked the ending very much and am looking forward to the third book and the surprises in store.

This is an easy recommend for any paranormal romance lovers.
