This is my first book by Susan Hamilton. I’m big on paranormal romance so I jumped on the chance to read this. I’m glad I did. This was a new take on the fae trope. Playboy faes and crime…it’s new. The tale is original. Aohdan is dangerous and a little scary, but I liked the way he connected with Seireadan. Seireadan is original, too. She’s a seer, but she’s very independent. She can kick butt. I liked that she could take care of herself.

I did have a few quibbles with this story. There were more than a few times when I had to reread to connect with the tale. The writing was good, but I had to make sure I knew what was going on and there were a few independently moving items, like gloves going on his hands. I kept thinking, who put them on? I know this is a quibble, but it took me out of the story for a bit.

This is a tale full of spicy romance and two souls who need a happy ending. This story is good for those who want to step into paranormal romance and don’t want a lot of heavy fantasy. If you’re interested in a quick read with original characters, then this might be the one for you.

This book is the first I’ve read by Thomasine Rappold, but it won’t be the last. I see this book is part of a series. I have to admit, I wasn’t lost, despite not having read the others in the series. Trust me, though, I will be checking them out.

I came across this story by chance and I’m glad I did. The writing flows well and drew me right in. The characters are fresh, too. I get it. The hero is initially a rakish kind of guy. He’s done things he’s not proud of. Who hasn’t done things of that matter? But I liked how he redeemed himself. I also liked how the heroine was irresistible to him. Jackson, the hero, is interesting. He’s a lawyer and has aspirations for more than his place in society. I give him props for his goals. I also liked Daisy, the heroine. She’s got pluck, determination and a particular ability. I haven’t read anything like this story, so the new twist on her art ability was fresh. The plot is well-thought out and enticing. I wanted to know how things would work out for these two characters. I liked the little hiccups they have to go through

If you’re looking for a story that’s long on story and big on heart, then this might be the one for you.

I already knew I loved the books of Bailey Bradford. Ms. Bradford is one of my go-to authors. This book? It didn’t disappoint. Right away, I fell in love with the characters and had to know more. The story flowed well and I was tugged me right in. The characters came to life for me and I needed to know more.

Kerry is a sweet man and I loved how he’s portrayed–as a tender man. He is a natural bottom and it was nice to see him come out of himself for Andy. They’re a good pair.

Andy is sweet, too, but he’s got a history and he’s a bit damaged. I liked that he wasn’t perfect, even if he’s a calendar man and supposed to appear perfect. Seeing him with Kerry was hot.

The plot rolls along well and the sex is out of this world. A buck shifter. That’s a first for me, but I’m sure it won’t be the last.

If you want a short story that’s guaranteed to warm the ereader and maybe scorch a page or two, then this is the book for you. Recommended.

I also liked how the story of Grace and Rainier were woven in. I felt like I was right there in Cannes and along on the junket with them. It’s a fanciful story.

If you want something that’s got a lot to make you think about, then this might not be the book you want. It’s not heavy. For me, that was perfect. I wanted a breezy read. I got it.

There are lots of books that stay with the reader far after the last page. I’ve read books lately that are heartbreaking. It’s good that they’ve touched a nerve. This book… I’m not sure where to start.

The writing flows well and drew me right in to the story. I wanted to know what would happen to Lale. My heart went out to Lale. I’ve done research and learned about the Holocaust, but this book put things into perspective. Lale did, yet didn’t, have faith and I could understand why. I liked Gita, too. Despite what she’d been through, she never lost her faith. They were a beautiful thing in the midst of such a disgusting event. Even when Gita was at her worst, Lale saw her best. That’s love. That’s the stuff romance should be made of.

I read this book in the course of a day and it was quick, yet hard to read. I have to admit, the note in the back of the book where the author talks about the real Lale, the real man, was the most heartbreaking. This real man went through hell more than once, yet he never quit. I loved the line about how he had to get the words out to the author so he could see Gita (she’d passed away by then). I don’t know how you can’t read this book and not feel for this man.

If you want a book that will make you think, feel and probably cry, then this is the book for you. Recommended.

I picked this book up because I’d read Radium Girls and I wanted another book in the same vein.  I’m glad I found this book. I learned a lot about the Oak Ridge facility and Tubealloy. I knew some things about the Manhattan Project, but this brought it all home.

The author sticks right to the main players and lets the ladies and men of Oak Ridge do the talking. I was sucked right into the story and couldn’t put it down.

Like I said, I learned things I didn’t know–such as women involved with the creating of Tubealloy and mentioning more than once that the bomb, as well as the ingredients, were dangerous. There were women who should’ve been included on the Pulitzer Prize for that event.

If you want a book that will make you think, remind you it’s good not to have to deal with mud and show the possibilities of Americans during the second world war, then this might be the book for you.

I know Gina Gershon from her acting work, but she can tell a story, too. This is a quick read, but it’s heavy. I felt for her. She lost her cat because of a crazy series of events and like most people who have animals, she didn’t give up until she found him. It read sometimes like a Hallmark movie, in that I wanted her to have her ending and she had determination. Other times, it read like a crazy dream – the fortune teller and seance lady was a bit out there.

But it grabbed me. I respect her determination to find Cleo. When you have that one animal that’s yours, that not only belongs to you, but has claimed you, you get it. I got it. I’ve had a couple of those animals and I hope to have more. They pick you, the same way Cleo picked Gina.

If you want a book that’s got a few laughs, a few tears and will show the depth of love one person can have for a cat, then this might be the book for you.

I knew when I picked up this story it was short. I knew it would fill maybe half an hour. I got what I wanted–short and hot.

The writing is good–it kept me wanting to read. I had to know what would happen to the characters. I liked the opposites attract angle of the story–he’s from the north and she’s from the south. She’s a spy and he’s an officer. It’s hot.

That said, this book is fast. The writing is fast. The story is fast. I almost had to reread to keep up. It’s good because it’s a great lunch time read, but bad if you, like me, wanted more backstory. The characters are fascinating, but it’s like one snippet of their life. What happened in Albany? I wanted to see more connection between them before.

Don’t get me wrong. I liked this story and will read more by this author. Southern Rose is fun, fast and satisfying for a short read. Pick it up.

Max decides to play a game of what ifs and tells Vadim an unusual and somewhat wicked bedtime story, inventing an alternate universe where Vadim is a slave and his boss’s displeasure bodes more than just a reprimand. Would things be easier for Vadim if he really couldn’t do anything but obey?

Two men, one headache and one hot story.

I’ve never read Katerina Ross before today and I’m glad I remedied that situation. To say this is a hot story is putting it mildly. Really. This story threatens to melt your kindle. I know it’s a short story, but I didn’t want to put the story down once I started. I had to know how things played out.

I was sucked right into the story, but I have to add this caveat. This story involves exhibitionism and extreme spanking. If degradation play isn’t for you, then this might not be the right short story. It’s tastefully written, but some readers might not want to dip their toe into this kind of BDSM play, even in a story.

Don’t mistake that warning for me disliking the book. Far from it. I enjoyed this story and look forward to more from Katerina Ross. I see this is a side story for Vadim and Max. I can’t wait to read the full length story next. Recommended.
