Part of their history includes Ben jumping to some pretty rash conclusions and it isn’t until he’s confronted with Lisa and her possible future with Dixie that he comes to realize his mistake. I don’t think I’m spoiling the story to say she forgives him but I was a little surprised at how quickly she forgives. She has motives for forgiving but he was pretty mean the last time they were together.

The sexy stuff starts pretty early even for a novella. Not that I’m opposed to moving the relationships along but I could see how there was opportunity to build more tension before they gave into their lust. Having said that, Ms. Ryan does a fantastic job of bringing the reader right into the room where all the action happens. If you have any voyeuristic tendencies, this one will certainly please. My inner voyeur didn’t object at all. There is a very brief M/M kiss that was hot and I was hoping it would lead to other bromance moments but it wasn’t to be.

There is an additional plot to this story outside the ménage. I felt like this was more of a character driven story in the beginning so that part kinda sneaks in between them resolving their relationship. For me, the middle was a bit of a lull but it picks up a lot towards the end. Actually, that part was very interesting.

One thing I was curious about was how the author would keep the genre intact. What I mean is oftentimes a story is promoted as scifi or historical or steampunk or whatever but there isn’t enough detail to keep me in the time period. Other than genetic mutations and the mention of other planets this short story isn’t overwhelmed with science-fictiony jargon. I don’t read a lot of this particular genre so that was just fine by me.

Readers who enjoy a bit of out of this world excitement to go along with their romance are sure to enjoy Shared Objectives.

Lily herself is nice, I could relate to her and was invested in her finding satisfaction between the sheets with Michael.

The story really heats up near the end with the addition of an extra guy. The author worked this in well to be a seriously hot ménage scene without it interfering with the romance between the two lead characters. I liked Louis (as did Lily!) but could understand that he was all about the fun and enjoying the female form, he wasn’t for commitment. I really liked Michael’s flirt with jealousy, it made him very real.

All in all a good read if you don’t mind the basic story line padded out with extra details. It has great characters and well-written erotic scenes and what’s not to adore about Paris?

I think having them be so different yet the same allows the idea that a ménage between the three of them could easily work. They each fulfill a role and both love Jessa quickly and easily. They’re snow leopard shifters, that’s who they are, but it wasn’t a theme that’s forced down Jessa’s throat immediately and I found that a refreshing twist from most shifter stories on the market. They both want her and want to claim her but they work hard to make sure she’s comfortable with them first, and I really loved that about this story.

I highly recommend this story for fans of paranormal romance and ménage as a great example of the best that those genres can be.

I like Ms. Alexander’s mix of real and paranormal London, with nothing being what it appears to be. The characters are all well-defined and charismatic, people you might meet on any stroll down the London streets. Ms. Alexander has extended the imagination to bring life to her creation, and I was swept into the story from the very beginning.

Aziza Jane Stewart is a strong and determined young woman. She believes she is cursed to die on her twenty-seventh birthday, and she plans to live every day to its fullest. I love Aziza, with her take no prisoners attitude, ready to experience all life offers before it is too late. When she discovers she isn’t really human, she realizes there is a whole world she knows nothing about, and has to come to terms with a new reality. When she keeps seeing the ‘giant of a man’ wherever she goes, she wants to know more, and when she finally meets Brandon, she has no idea what he really is. When Ram is able to trigger her abilities, she is terrified, but hides it behind her sarcastic wit. But her attraction to both the gorgeous Jinn and the shifter Enforcer will take her to passions she’s never known before.

Brandon is an enforcer, keeping the Jinn from crossing into the human plane without permission. He is strong and handsome, and determined to discover what Aziza is. And he wants her more than he has ever wanted any female, and doesn’t quite understand it. I like Brandon, especially when he is able to accept that Aziza is more than she appears, and is determined to protect her.

Ram and Shev are Aziza’s Jinn protectors, able to guide her, but not able to tell her much about who and what she is without fear of reprisals from their superiors. They are able to pop in and out of her life, and I enjoyed the sassy with both displayed. And I had to laugh at Ram when he explained to Aziza that, while there were other ways to trigger her abilities, he chose sex because he enjoyed being with her.

There are many secondary characters in this, and each has some role to play in the story. I especially like Aziza’s best friend, Gregory Prophet, who has always loved her, but knows she doesn’t return the sentiment, so he becomes her friend, confidant and bodyguard. As things begin to spiral out of control, Aziza learns she must find a way to keep her friend and her aunt safe, and uncover her true destiny as the last Fireborne. When an unexpected faction tries to take control of Aziza to create chaos and use her powers, she finally takes charge to keep her people safe.

This would not be an R.G. Alexander book without lots of passion and romance, and this one is filled with hot moments to thrill. Will she choose the big handsome shifter, or the sensuous and tricky Jinn to sate her desires? There is attraction there between Aziza and both of these men, and there is a wicked interlude in the barn with Brandon and an invisible Ram that is so hot it could scorch the page. There is not a happy ever after her, but there is a happy for now for Aziza, with the promise of more adventure to come.

After realizing this, I knew this story would test their limits and resolves. This is not the usual boy meets girl, etc. romance format. It is full of romance, passion, and yet jocularity.

My only regret is that these characters spend so much of their energy in the chase and I wish the author had given us more of their romance. On the other hand, it provides for an increase in adrenaline waiting for the moment when these two characters must clash.

If you have not read Undressed (The Manhattanites book #1) by Avery Aster, you do not have to read it before reading this book (though, why wouldn’t you want to?). This standalone novel will leave you hooked on this series of stories. You will laugh, cry, and yes cheer at their antics. Looking forward to reading book #3 from this author.

I also wish we’d gotten to see more one-on-one action between Cyn and each of our delectable heroes, as they stated how important for them to have their own time in addition to the play they engaged in together.

This book is perfect for anyone who has a secret fetish or fantasy, as it has a little bit of something for everyone. Overall, this is an engaging read, with a little bit of heart and a lot of kink thrown in. The trio will leave you wanting to be spanked and teased by two delicious Doms. The interchanging between them and fast pace made me devour this book in one sitting, filling my head with all sorts of raunchy visions. And I’ve always been a sucker for a Masquerade story – something about the secrecy and romance always captures my imagination and this author did that scene justice.

When you only have a little while this is an excellent, quick read, sure to set the mood and have you panting for more. The characters have real attachments to each other, and the connection between them is both tender and smoking hot. A great read.

Like most shifters, the birds have a common enemy: Robert Farrow. The odds of finding her are slim, but with the help of several members of his nest, they set out to rescue his beloved mate.

Aviana awakens to find herself in a terrible state indeed. At least she’s not alone. Seems Robert Farrow has collected quite a few birds. Unfortunately for them all, the living conditions are terrible. Dirty water, minimal food, and cages soiled with excrement are just the beginning. Unable to shift and escape, Aviana is forced to wait and pray someone comes to her rescue. When he does, it’s in a form she never anticipated. Seems the fates have other plans for Aviana and her mate.

Virgin Prey is the first bird shifter story I’ve read. One thing that rather struck me was how different they are than other shifters. Wolves, lions, tigers, and most large animals are usually aggressive and powerful, true forces to be reckoned with. Birds, on the other hand, while graceful and majestic in their shifted forms, are still small and limited in strength, making them more vulnerable to their enemies—though I’m sure a mouse shifter would beg to differ. It gave me a lot to think about, which is a refreshing change. The overall story was enjoyable to read, but there were some things that felt a bit too unrealistic. Perhaps they were just too rushed to be believable. Without giving away too much of the story, I guess my only real dislike was how easily Andor accepts Bertrand. My past experience with shifters is that they are fiercely protective and very “alpha” about their mates—something I love about shifters. I would have expected more challenge from Andor regarding Bertrand’s relationship with Aviana. I can say the ending proved quite entertaining and…stimulating. You’ll just have to read it yourself to find out who Bertrand is. *smile*

To sum it all up, Virgin Prey is a nice change of pace from the typical shifter story. Harper Jewel’s males may not display the normal alpha characteristics commonly found in many shifters, but it’s obvious their devotion and love for their mate is no less fierce. There are several sex scenes, heating this romance into a high temperature erotic tale. It’s a quaint story that provides an entertaining read.

Red Riding Hood is one of my favorite fairy tales and I always look for re-tellings of the story.  I really enjoyed the premise of the world the author created but I felt that the characters lacked depth and I didn’t fall in love with them as much as I’d hoped, so wasn’t pulled into their story.  I did enjoy the way the characters were presented and the many twists this story has. More, it is a hot read. The sexual tension is high between the three and the love that they feel is evident in all that they do and say. Even though this story was not a favorite it was interesting to see how the author transformed many of the characters from old fairy tales. I would not hesitate to return to this world to meet other characters and see where their paths may lead.
