In Feral Voyeurism I was introduced into an intense world of shapeshifters. That’s not to say that it’s the first book in her series, I’m actually not sure what number this is in the series, but just an introduction for me.

I was intrigued by Emma’s story, wanting to know more about her and the inner strength she exhibited when she walked away from all she knew in order to heal. At the same time, that strength isn’t always evident as she gets stuck in a rut of running away from what scares her, whether it’s good for her or not. One would think that being a werewolf would make her fearless and indestructible, but she’s seemingly the opposite. Sexually, she’s a bit repressed and seems to find a great deal of enjoyment in simply watching… which is perfect for her, as she loves watching Durand as he dances across from her stage and gets her engine revving at high speed. When I came to the end of this story I wanted more, and I wanted to know what came before. What better endorsement for a book is there than that you didn’t want it to end, even though they all must come to an end or the dishes would never get done. Lacey Savage has a knack for creating original characters that capture your imagination and your heart all in one fell swoop. Between the tension in the beginning and the actual sexual encounters, she knows how to build the heat to the point of panting from the heat. I enjoyed this original tale by a wonderful storyteller and will definitely be reading it again.

The relationship between Lady Lyssa, the vampire queen, and Jacob, her human servant in training, is simple yet exceptionally complex at the same time. I’ve read other reviews of this book and though most are glowing, a few cite gratuitous brutality and violence occurring, but I disagree with this assessment. As I listened to Lyssa’s inner thoughts and how she illustrates the vampire psyche, it was very clear to me her motivations for the cruelty she bestows on Jacob. I didn’t like some of the things that she did, but I understood why she did them and I felt her actions were appropriate, based on her view of the world and her ultimate intentions toward Jacob.

Lady Lyssa is complicated and dangerous and merciless. But I also see her as vulnerable. Sometimes, I didn’t like her very much, and others, my heart wept for her. His physique is the embodiment of virility and every time he takes his clothes off, which is often, I had to place a cold compress on my forehead. Are you getting that the man is hot?! Even when being forced to do things he doesn’t want to, and particularly when he’s doing things he does want to do, he performs with such sensuality that I swear, if he held classes for men, there would be a lot of happy women out there!

The one criticism that I have is that it went on too long with encounter after encounter between the two of them without the feeling of forward motion to the story. I didn’t understand Jacob’s motivation for putting up with the abuse and I began to question what the point of it all was especially as he continued to accept more and more. I was pleased to have my question answered; his driving force is finally explained and his submission justified satisfactorily, and though a momentary annoyance, the delay didn’t mar my overall appreciation of the book.

Lyssa’s and Jacob’s story is powerfully intense and not for the sensitive or faint-of-heart. The sex scenes are explicit and unconventional. But the writing is exceptional and I was moved by the artistry of the author’s pen. The fiery characters are enticing and their journey to discover what they may have with one another is exhilarating. Their story continues in a second book entitled The Mark of the Vampire Queen and I can’t wait to read it.

Cal was such a fun character! I adored him and so hoped he could find the happiness he seemed to deserve. Cal is canny, smart and incredibly passionate about whomever he loves. I fell in love with him immediately. He tends to think outside the box and quickly found a solution to his and Kevan’s problems. I can’t really tell you the solution, as it give the story away, but let me just say that it doesn’t disappoint! Both Cal and Kevan are intense and passionate, their emotions jump from the page and pull you into their story, until you are completely invested in their HEA!

I loved this book! But, a word of warning… don’t be like me and start with this one first and then realize you missed out on something! Start at the beginning, this series is so worth it! Don’t worry, I begged and pleaded and got my hands on the first five books in this series. That’s right, FIVE books before this one! I’m so excited to read the beginning of this series and I’ll be bringing you those reviews as well! In the meantime, Sierra Dafoe is a voice to be reckoned with and I definitely recommend that you snatch up any of her books that you can! This one is a solid 5 cherries!

Both men drew me in elemental ways, and you just have to love when an author can so totally draw you in!

At one point I did, unfortunately, find myself wondering when the “bad guys” were going to show up. As it’s a bit frustrating when a story is even a bit predictable. This did dampen some of my enthusiasm for the story, but it quickly rallied and left me with a smile on my face when everything started to make sense. This didn’t really ruin my enjoyment of the story, and since I do read so much I do find some predictability is going to be found in most stories anyway. Therefore, as I did enjoy it and even found myself laughing occasionally, I am perfectly happy to give this a great review!

I had a great time reading this, as I have with the other two books in this series. The sex scenes were incredibly hot, if a bit… interesting in the location. Ms. Connor has quite a talent for weaving the heat into the adventure that the characters of her world are drawn into against their will. I found myself getting a bit lost in the descriptions of the sex and that is the mark of a great author… hmmm… I meant in the sense of descriptions, not sex, although that is a wonderful added benefit! LOL! All in all, this was a fun, incredibly erotic read that brought a sense of the naughty into the action and adventure of this world. Absolutely a fun read, and a recommend from me!

Gina is your every type of woman. She feels that she’s stuck in a rut when it comes to the men in her life, not to mention when it comes to her sex life. When she meets George, her hot neighbor, she feels an instant attraction to him, but is intent on being a good girl and doesn’t push the attraction between them. When George takes matters into his own hands, Gina is helpless against his sexual pull and finds herself on a journey of discovery that teaches her more about herself than she expected.

George is a complex character, that we don’t learn much about as the story is told in Gina’s voice. He’s definitely strong and incredibly demanding of Gina and expects things of her that most men wouldn’t even consider asking for much less demanding as George seems to. My impression was that George knew what Gina was capable of both in her heart and in her sexuality, and would accept nothing less than everything from his woman. He gave me the shivers on more than one occasion, and sometimes not necessarily in a good way. I do have to say that despite his dark tendencies, or maybe because of them, I found him to be exceptionally exciting.

We don’t meet Garrick until the tale is almost fully told, so there is even less known about him. My understanding of him was that he was quite a bit like George, and just as possessive. I did have some issues with this story. While it was a love story, it was told in the style of your typical Erotica rather than an Erotic Romance. What I mean by that is that the story is told as a series of intense encounters without much lip-service being paid to character development or story-building. We are pulled from one sexual encounter to another with barely a pause between to catch our breath. It felt more like I was reading Gina’s diary, and while salacious it wasn’t really romantic. There were several moments where I wasn’t sure there would be a Happily Ever After and I was frustrated, but the sex was so erotic I couldn’t turn away. Kind of like a naughty voyeur who is helpless to turn from a steamy scene before them. While this didn’t completely ruin my enjoyment of this book, it did dampen it a bit as I would have liked to see more character development and story progression. Therefore, I have to tender a warning to anyone looking to pick this one up: It’s not your typical Erotic Romance, and that is just fine if you’re looking for something a bit more along the lines that this one went.

Quillia Rain is an exceptional author, and I have enjoyed her stories that I have read. Despite the difficulties I had in reading this one, I did enjoy it. Each story of hers has been unique and I do look forward to any of her other offerings. If you decide to pick this one up be prepared for a wild adventure that may make you wonder about some of your own fantasies, and what you would be willing to do for pleasure. Hold onto your seat and enjoy the ride.

Wild Nights was an engaging read that gave plenty of history behind Bastien and Xander’s world and their taking of brides and the building of the storyline that continues in Wicked Nights. Tawny focused more on the relationship building in this tale than on the sensual aspects, but that did not detract one bit from the overall story. Don’t get me wrong, the love scenes are there, and they are hot, but that’s not all this is about and that can serve better to draw you in. We are given more of a glimpse than a full look at how the physical side of the relationship between Bastien, Maggie and Xander will be and it whets your appetite for more. I had some fun reading this, if only because Xander and Bastien aren’t quite sure how to handle a woman who won’t let them keep her locked in a room all day until they need her. Tawny Taylor is definitely an author to watch.
