Everyone at Jim Irving’s garage is gung ho about Wrench Wars, a new reality show featuring mechanics. Everyone, that is, except talented mechanic Chandler Scott, the sole employee who has refused to sign the contract. The rest of the mechanics are pressuring him too, because without Chandler—and his volatile interactions with his boss—no one’s getting on the show.

Chandler’s one ally is Jim’s son, Mark, who’s being forced to work for his dad until he pays down his student loans or finds a better job—and who’s been Chandler’s secret lover for a while.

Then a playful tryst in the garage blows up in their faces, giving the network ammo to blackmail Chandler by threatening to out Mark to his father. Now Chandler is backed into a corner, and Mark needs to decide how far he’s willing to go to protect the man who’s been sharing his bed… and may have stolen his heart.

Chandler is trying to make a difficult decision – whether to sign on to the reality show Wrench Wars or not. Everyone else at the garage he works at has signed, but he has reservations. But the network is playing hardball, if Chandler doesn’t sign on, then the whole garage will be passed over and all the other workers dumped from their contracts and Mark – the boss’ son – will lose out hardest of all. Only Mark and Chandler have no idea just how low the networks are prepared to punch when it comes to their ratings.

I’ve read a few others of these Wrench War stories and I have to admit I’ve been really enjoying them. While you can read each of them as a stand alone, getting a better understanding of the big-picture and some of the characters that intersect has certainly helped me enjoy these stories even more. I really enjoyed both Chandler and Mark’s characters. I liked that they were already lovers – though deeply in the closet – when the book started as this helped me feel like their relationship was already somewhat defined.

The drama and plot is definitely centred around Chandler and Mark interacting with their co-workers and the networks/producers of the reality show. I thoroughly enjoyed hating on the producer – Adam – and am fairly sure that was the whole point of his character. Adam does a few fairly reprehensible things and while nasty, it was admittedly refreshing to have such a hideous —and utterly believable and realistic — villain in a romance story.

I also found that a lot of the tension between the garage mechanics also added a fair bit of conflict and I felt this really had the plot side of the story feeling like it was definitely well fleshed out. This isn’t a bunch of sex scenes loosely held together, but a strongly plotted story that happens to have some delicious M/M sex and romance in it. I really enjoyed this for that very reason. I also was thrilled with the happy ending – I found it to be the perfect completion of to an awesome story.

A good addition to the series and a wonderful M/M sexy romance that I’d happily recommend this to others.

Can Scotty take this opportunity to teach Ryan one or two more lessons about falling in love?

Ryan is trying to escape the clutches of a desperate woman at his work party. Hiding out in the bathroom, Ryan finds out he’s not the only person doing so. Scott is young and handsome, and while Ryan hadn’t known he was sexually attracted to men, Scott quickly shows him the error of his ways.

This is an interesting and highly erotic short story. I was a little puzzled by the flow of this short story. Ryan and Scott meet in the first few pages, but then the author whizzes through their dating at a dizzying speed and then spends the rest of the short story proceeding to jump back in time with flashbacks, then back to the “present” – which is actually a number of months after the opening scene. While exceedingly different, I managed to follow along decently enough. I just was puzzled and question why the author didn’t just simply tell the story of Ryan and Scott beginning and moving on in their relationship. The flashbacks are brief and certainly add to the story, but the time-hopping did jar me a number of times for the pacing and flow of the overall story.

I did enjoy both Ryan and Scott’s characters. I feel they worked together remarkably well and I enjoyed reading about their sexual escapades. I liked how neither man was purely a top or bottom – they share the power in the relationship fairly equally and this vibe helped me greatly enjoy their sex and interactions.

This story is certainly short enough that I could read it in one sitting and found it a spicy, sexy romp that was a lovely break from real life. Readers looking for a different style of story should certainly give this one a try.

When Reggie’s garage became part of a popular reality show, business went through the roof. And he supposes having his shop in the black is a fair trade for jumping through the network’s hoops.

As the show’s lowest-ranking producer, Wes is tasked with proposing a new spin-off show to Reggie. The sexy mechanic makes him sweat on a normal day, but this time, Wes is holding cards he can’t show. With execs breathing down his neck, he’s expected to pitch a show Reggie will never agree to do, even if his rejection puts his existing show on the line.

The network is counting on Reggie refusing to sign. But they’re not counting on their messenger falling for the man they’re trying to fire.

Wes hated being in front of a camera, so he did production instead. He’d only met Reggie, the owner of the garage they used to film Wrench Wars, a few times, but Wes couldn’t help the attraction he felt to the tough, tattooed mechanic. Reggie often finds himself hating the reality show, but his shop needs the gig, and so do his guys. When the network wants to set him up on a reality dating show – a heterosexual one – Reggie had never felt quite to hemmed in by the contract. Can Reggie and Wes manage to negotiate this new problem together somehow?

I found this to be a fun, interesting read. Similar to another Wrench Wars story I’ve read, there is plenty of mechanical, car and gear-head action and description, but not enough to lose me, as a certified non-car-person. And the characters are impressive and really interesting. I found myself immediately drawn into both Reggie and Wes’ different viewpoints. Their problems were interesting to me and I thoroughly enjoyed the voice of the author through the characters. The pace was quick enough that I was eager to discover what happened next and I really found myself enjoying this short story, caught up in it enough that I didn’t want to put it down.

I enjoyed the fact that Wes and Reggie didn’t immediately act on their attraction; indeed the two men weren’t even sure the other was gay for quite some time of the story. I felt this actually helped add to the chemistry and tension between the two men and helped the story along as well.

While there was plenty of plot going on, I felt the author had a good balance between chemistry and plot. Then later when Reggie and Wes finally managed to hook up, the sex was hot and explicit, but not over the top. I found it sensual and really wonderful to read. I personally was a little disappointed that it was a “Happy For Now” style of ending. Reggie and Wes are in a good place, and there’s definitely future potential and a positive vibe in their story’s ending, but it’s not as solid or close to “Happy Ever After” as I’m used to and a small, niggling part of me just felt like their ending didn’t quite close/conclude as strongly as I could have hoped for. Of course, the optimist in me wonders if this is just an opportunity for a sequel, which I would happy devour – were it so.

I found this to be a really good story with wonderful characters I got very attached to and greatly enjoyed. The sex is smoking hot and the plot is interesting and very well written. A great story.

But after that first meeting, neither Dane nor Jackson can get their minds off the other, even if that means they both fall into even more danger…

I enjoyed this story. I found it to be equal parts spicy romance, hot paranormal and laugh aloud funny. To be fair I’m not certain the author’s intent was to make parts of this funny, but I, personally, found humour in quite a few parts of the story – like where Dane’s pet cat decides that Jackson’s necklace is its new trophy or when Dane manages to wield the fireplace poker as a deadly weapon. These moments gave the story a lighter feel to me, and I enjoyed the fact the book didn’t take itself too seriously.

There were a few parts of the plot I really wish had been gone into more depth. The Assassin group – a network of people who felt all shifters should be obliterated and only “full” humans should exist – seemed like an excellent plot for this series, and Joel was singled out as a massive threat, but the author didn’t go into a lot of detail around this. I felt a little like because this story the first book in the series we’re only given a small taste of this plot and the rest has been purposely left hanging for future stories. The way this was handled made me feel a little short-changed. I ended feeling as if the story should have either focused purely on Jackson and Dane’s relationship – which I personally would have been fine with – or it should have spent more time devoted to details and description about the Assassins and Joel in particular. At the start of the story Joel is made out to be the big-bad hitman, yet at the end I feel that Joel is shown to be completely oblivious and (I personally feel like he’s shown to be) incompetent. I didn’t particularly like this ending and felt it quite an injustice to Joel’s having any sort of skill or professionalism. I felt this was a huge shame, because the plot around Joel and the Assassin group greatly intrigued me and I would have loved to see both more detail and a better working of this part of the story.

The relationship between Jackson and Dane was the real hero of this story and to my mind was completely its saving grace. I loved watching them come together and the sex between the two men was smoking hot. I loved the M/M pacing and intimacy. These two men were both excellent characters and Jackson’s brothers and Dane’s bff Sam all show great potential for future stories.

A good M/M and what might be a decent start to a new shifter series.

But love and mistletoe have a way of upsetting even the best-laid plans.

Sophie’s first Season on the marriage mart had been an abysmal failure in the eyes of her mother and Uncle Harry. Hoping to marry her off to a gentleman of means, Sophie’s mother and uncle were dismayed that not a single gentleman had danced with her, aside from her pimply-faced cousin. Relieved to return home, Sophie is determined to try and live comfortably. Jeremy Wyatt is assisting his best friend elope with the woman of his dreams, acting as witness and collaborator in their rush to Gretna. When their carriage is bogged down by flood waters, he walks back to the small cottage they recently passed by. Can Sophie and Jeremy make this the most special Yuletide ever?

I thoroughly enjoyed the strong secondary characters. Thomas and Emma (Thomas being Jeremy’s best friend) were eloping and by mid-way through the story I was as invested in their happy ever after and marriage as I was with Sophie and Jeremy hooking up. A part of me would have enjoyed getting to know Sophie’s mother a little better, her character felt a little inconsistent to me. At the start of the story she appeared quite determined that Sophie have a second Season to hook a rich husband almost regardless of Sophie’s feelings in the matter. But after meeting Jeremy, Sophie’s mother was more than willing to scheme to help this man she had only just met form an attachment to her daughter. I couldn’t help but feel if I’d got to know her character a little better this complete about-face in attitude would have made a lot more sense and felt like a smoother transition for me.

I found this to be a lovely Regency-era romance story. While I didn’t find any of the plot particularly unique there’s definitely something to be said for the traditional boy-meets-girl storyline. The attraction between Sophie and Jeremey is nearly instant and I loved the numerous steamy kisses they shared. In true Regency style, there was no sex, and nothing spicier than those stolen kisses, so I feel this should appeal to all levels of romance readers except for those who can only enjoy the very sweet stories.

Overall I really enjoyed this Regency romance. I loved the characters and the sensual kisses and short spaces of time secretly captured between Sophie and Jeremy. I loved the happy ending and found this a very satisfying short story to read. Recommended.

JD and Genevieve had spent some wonderful time together as children – some of the best times of Genevieve’s life. Hunted and running, she finally decides to take control of her world back and heads to the one place she truly feels safe – their old summer camping grounds. JD is also trying to take control of his life, suffering from PTSD and feeling himself a danger to everyone around him, he’s determined to force Genevieve to go – only that’s not what he really wants deep in his heart. Can these two lost souls find their way forward together?

I found this to be a very solid, plot-focused mystery/thriller style story. While it took me a short while to really get into Genevieve’s character, I instantly enjoyed JD’s rough style and really felt for him. Despite all his problems and demons – and regardless of how poorly he expressed himself and came across, he really did have every good intention and in his own way he was trying to protect everyone around him, Genevieve especially. I really loved his character from the very beginning.

I was a little disappointed with the pacing of the story at the beginning. Admittedly, there was a lot of “set up” that needed to occur – explaining Genevieve’s situation, then her flight from the Marshalls etc. Being honest, I can’t find much in those first few chapters where it would be possible to trim the story down. But even while reading this and accepting it, I couldn’t help but feel it made the story drag. It felt clear to me we were simply setting everything up and moving from A to B to C so that we could get to the real meat of the story at D. Even though my perseverance though all this introductory set up paid off wonderfully when the pace sped up, it wouldn’t surprise me if some readers give up instead of slogging through – and that would be a shame as this story really is excellent once it gets moving. Ironically, I also felt the tie-up of the romantic ending was a little too pat. Part of me wondered if perhaps the author ran into a tight word-limit or something similar, as the ending just didn’t feel as well paced as the middle section.

The pacing in the middle of the story was excellent. I loved the slow progression of the romance budding between JD and Genevieve and the slow unfurling of the mystery/suspense plot. That coupled with really complex, interesting characters made much of this story a real pleasure to read. I thought there was buckets of chemistry between JD and Genevieve – more than enough to fan the romantic flames between them. I also liked not none of their relationship was particularly easy for either of them. They both have secrets, regrets and baggage, both are far more complicated adults than the kids they used to know each other as. This made the story really vivid and deeply, complex and interesting for me.

A solid mystery with a wonderful plot and what I found to be an interesting, believable romance with deep, realistic characters and lots of good chemistry.

In fact, he finds Kasey intriguing, and he’s determined to have him for himself.

Everything about Brandon revs Kasey’s engine, and he’s more than willing to get down and dirty with the charming man. What worries Kasey is what will happen after. Is there any chance of a future for them? In the past, expecting anything long-term has only led to heartbreak. But Kasey can’t help hoping that, despite Kasey’s fetish, Brandon will be the exception.

Kasey likes to keep his head down at work. A mechanic, specializing in muscle cars, he’s found once too often to be the butt of his “friends’” jokes. So he likes to stay invisible. Enter Brandon, a new client who himself reluctant to leave his baby in the hands of a stranger without checking the mechanics knowledge. Insisting on speaking personally to Kasey, the two hit it off immediately. Can they come to a mutually satisfying arrangement?

I have to confess, I’m not particularly a car person. I don’t dislike them – but I’m far from a motor-head. Even so, I found myself really enjoying this story. I loved how much Kasey adored his cars, and how they made him so horny. I particularly enjoyed how the author conveyed Kasey and Brandon’s appreciation of the muscle car so well, that I wanted to keep reading, to relish them enjoying the ride. I find when an author can make you appreciate something you’re not necessarily keen on, that’s the mark of excellent writing. I thought this story had that in spades.

This story was an interesting mixture of humour, lighthearted fun and sizzling sex. Personally, I didn’t feel any of it was particularly kinky or outrageous. While I can appreciate that Kasey feels his intense attraction to cars was a little abnormal, it really felt to me like he’d built it up in his head to be way more than it was. Getting off on (and in) older style, classic muscles cars really wasn’t that nutty to my mind. But Kasey thought it was weird, unnatural and unhealthy, which felt a little over the top to me. I feel it helped that his sexual pleasure from the car wasn’t written in a dirty or offensive manner, so I found it fun and light – rather than a deep, dark, embarrassing secret. I was surprised to find myself far more interested in Brandon and his cars, along with Kasey and his fetish, rather than the actual plot of Kasey reconnecting with his brother. I’m not sure if that mini-plot was just a little too loosely written – not pushed forward enough – or whether it was an after-thought not fully fleshed into the story, but that aspect of the plot just didn’t feel solid or given the same importance as the cars and growing relationship between Kasey and Brandon to my mind.

I really appreciated the pace of the romantic relationship between the two men. I feel the author did a great job, introducing us to Kasey (and his predilections) first, then slowly showing Brandon and Kasey coming together. Despite the shorter length of the story I was pleased with the pacing. Slow enough to be believable but sexy and hot enough to earn its erotic title.

I feel this story will really appeal to most readers, particularly those wanting a gentle M/M story or car enthusiasts. I found it fun, sexy and totally enjoyable. Recommended.

The two men, however, continually bumped into each other and they both became more annoyed each time until they each realised they’d have far more success working together than in opposition.

I really enjoyed this book. I found it had an extremely strong mystery plot – the vast majority of the story was Jake and Cameron trying to solve the murder. Their relationship progresses very slowly, starting initially as them being quite antagonistic toward each other and butting heads with sparks flying. I loved the pacing, slow enough to really see and experience how Jake and Cameron slowly turned to each other and watching their relationship flourish. The murder mystery plot was also excellent to my mind. While I admit I guessed some of it fairly early on, there were plenty of red herrings and fake-clues which made me question my assumptions. Solidly written, it kept me totally hooked right to the end.

While there were more than a few steamy kisses, readers should be aware that there wasn’t really anything exceptionally erotic in my view. There is a single, brief M/M sex scene between Jake and Cameron right near the end of the story. While the bedroom door is definitely left open it’s not particularly explicit and the whole scene is quite brief, albeit deliciously written. Readers used to heavy erotic romances might not feel as if this is a “full on” erotic romance, and particularly readers interested only in the sexy, steamy side of a M/M relationship might find that this plot-focused story doesn’t tick the right box for them.

Personally I loved this book – a real, proper mystery story with a lovely hint of sexiness and a good, well-worked M/M relationship. I really enjoyed this and will happily read more by this author.

This is a smoking hot, steamily sexy story. While the predominant relationship is between Lucky and Jack, through a funny and somewhat complicated series of events they indulge in two different threesomes during this short story. I found this to be quite fast-paced, which I found surprisingly enjoyable. Like a speeding train, events unfold one after another like dominoes falling. I thought this was both excellent and difficult. I liked it because needing to know what happened next kept me turning the pages, completely addicted. The only real down side to this was I felt a little like I just couldn’t catch my breath and enjoy each moment.

Lucky and Jack’s relationship has a few rough patches in this story. I was quite nervous for them in a few places but was delighted that things always got resolved – usually with a lot of very hot sex! One thing I really loved was how the author somehow managed to make something that sounds absolutely insane not just actually occur, but make sense. I can’t imagine any other situation where a specific threesome could occur. Somehow Lucky and Jack (and clearly the author!) make the absurd completely possible and damn hot at the same time.

A fun, fast romp, this is an awesome short story and one I enjoyed.

His inability to save his sister has impacted Seth Goodwyn’s entire life, and Doctor Seth is a fixer. He meets quiet, unassuming Melanie and figures she needs his help. Seth sees Melanie every day, but he still hasn’t quite managed to work out how to talk properly to her and get her to trust him. He’s a self-confessed fixer, and it’s clear that Melanie needs help. Seth is determined to become that man, he just needs the right opening.

I found this to be a lovely, really sweet story. Seth and Melanie don’t rush into everything – they’re both quite layered characters who have plenty of skeletons in their closet. I really enjoyed the fact neither were simple, easy people. Seth is definitely a fixer and needs to save those around him – but that need stems from a very specific time when he couldn’t do so. And Melanie is on the surface a shy young woman, determined to make her own path – but there’s so much more that lies in her previous life, where her determination takes root from. I found these to be really interesting, complicated people who grabbed my attention and it was a pleasure to watch them not only come together, but learn about each other.

This story is set in Lobster Cove – and while it’s clear there are plenty of other stories set here, I had no problems following along, even though I picked up this book up without having read any of the previous other stories. I was a little disappointed with the ending. While Melanie was awesome confronting her demons from the past, I felt the resolution to the problem was just a little too pat. After such a momentous build up – pretty much the entire story – having everything just fall perfectly into place and be accepted in the final moments really felt unrealistic to me. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a happy ending, I need that from my romance, but after a huge build up to this climactic scene, it felt so easy and smooth I couldn’t help but wonder if that was it and I’d missed something.

Having said that I strongly feel that for me; the most important aspects in a romance story are a) the romantic relationship and b) the characters. Both of these were excellently handled to my mind. I loved the slow, sweet blooming of the relationship between Melanie and Seth and I particularly enjoyed some of the baseball humour and the way they both kept it light but their connection flourished.

A lovely, sweet and warm love story between two deep and interesting characters.
