For a duchess with practical desires, falling in love is an inconceivable part of her plan…

As owner of the Elysium Club which caters to women’s fantasies, Aiden Trewlove is accustomed to introducing adventurous ladies to sin and vice. But he is uncharacteristically intrigued by the mysterious beauty who visits his club one night, yearning to indulge in the forbidden—with him. Drawn to her indomitable spirit, he breaks his rule of never becoming personally involved with his clientele and is determined to fully awaken her desires.

A recent widow, Selena Sheffield, Duchess of Lushing, has never known passion, not until Aiden’s slow, sensual seduction leads her on a journey of discovery and incredible pleasure. But her reasons for visiting the notorious club are not all that they seem.

Wow. This books kicks off in the most ugly way imaginable…far from what one imagines from the jacket; yet, it sets the scene for us to understand the duchess’ motivation.

The Duchess in His Bed seems like it should be a cheery and titillating story. After all, we’re given to understand that the most risque ‘ladies’ club and physical passion are absolutely central. And, though expectations are met in that regard, the real surprise is the Duchess herself. In fact, the depth and quality of all the characters keep this story riveting.

We meet Adien, as he meets the beautiful and previously, shall we say “undervalued”, Duchess of Lashing. Selena is not what she seems and she has some pretty specific goals, as well. Aiden thinks he knows those goals. He is confident in his assessment of women and what might bring them to his services. His surety is undoing.

Lena has a very specific desire but, almost immediately she discovers a conflict. And though she was prepared to pursue her own desires single-mindedly, suddenly, she trips over something like respect. Or is it more? The developing emotions stir the plot quite thoroughly!

Ms. Heath’s historical romance brings together incredibly realistic characters in an unusual and very unpredictable situation. We hardly know what to hope for, never mind expect, as the story charges forward.

Very worth reading; fun and intriguing.

Flirting at thirty thousand feet with a charming rock star is a terrible idea, especially since Sebastian can’t afford to lose his job as a flight attendant. Ethan “Duke” Clementine may be hot and oh-so-talented, but Sebastian has no desire to join the mile high club, or so he tells himself. The truth is that he misses playing music, and he would love to fall in love with the right guy, but everyone knows Ethan is into women.

Ethan is tired of traveling, tired of fame, and he’s especially tired of pretending he’s straight. He’s been in the closet for so long it seems pointless to come out as bi, especially with his career in the balance. So what does he do when he meets sexy flight attendant Sebastian? He sings the man into the sack, because one hookup doesn’t mean he’s going to fall in love, right?

Sebastian wants nothing more than to work on his music. His fledgling career, however, doesn’t pay the bills, and so he works as a flight attendant. Sick of cleaning up baby puke and trying to stop random strangers sitting next to each other from killing themselves, Sebastian does some extra training and lands a good job working for a private charter airline that caters to wealthy clients. When Sebastian recognizes Ethan Clemantine – rock star musician – he can hardly believe his good fortune. Surely flirting a little with such a handsome guy wouldn’t be too bad, right?

This is a really sexy, light short story. I really enjoyed how even though there was clear chemistry as soon as Ethan and Sebastian met they didn’t jump right into bed immediately. There was a little time for me as a reader to see them both interact – first as worker and client but then as musicians collaborating together. This helped give me a good feel for how they fit together out of the bedroom and made their attraction and sexual chemistry a lot more believable to me. I also really liked the slight twist which the author put on the whole story – that of the star-struck fan, Sebastian, not being the one leaving their one-night-stand with regrets and wishing for more. I really enjoyed how that subtle shift in the usual plotline altered the whole story and made it feel fresh and different to me.

With two interesting characters and a whole world of differences in their circumstances and life, I found this to be a great story that held my attention throughout. While a bit of a fantasy – that of a famous person entering your life and the chemistry rocking off the charts almost immediately – there’s enough realism scattered throughout this story to make it both believable and relatable. A great, quick read that I enjoyed.

But someone wants to steal Heather’s secret process and put her out of the picture permanently. Chris, with his new superpowers, is the only thing standing between Heather and an assassin’s bullet. Is he enough of a hero to save her?

This is the first book in the author’s Xi Force series and it is scorching – in more ways than one! I loved the concept and could so see this as a Netflix or HBO series.

The characters were very cool… you have a female scientist who has developed the nano-technology to bring people back to life as “zombie robots”, a really hot guy who is the subject of her experiments, and a lot of good old fashioned action (not to mention the hot sex). And, it’s the perfect set up for the new series.

I loved the way the story is told from both Chris and Heather’s points of view… it allowed for some very entertaining moments. A nice light touch in a book that’s otherwise filled with non-stop action. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. Good job, Mr. Mitchell.

The two men, however, continually bumped into each other and they both became more annoyed each time until they each realised they’d have far more success working together than in opposition.

I really enjoyed this book. I found it had an extremely strong mystery plot – the vast majority of the story was Jake and Cameron trying to solve the murder. Their relationship progresses very slowly, starting initially as them being quite antagonistic toward each other and butting heads with sparks flying. I loved the pacing, slow enough to really see and experience how Jake and Cameron slowly turned to each other and watching their relationship flourish. The murder mystery plot was also excellent to my mind. While I admit I guessed some of it fairly early on, there were plenty of red herrings and fake-clues which made me question my assumptions. Solidly written, it kept me totally hooked right to the end.

While there were more than a few steamy kisses, readers should be aware that there wasn’t really anything exceptionally erotic in my view. There is a single, brief M/M sex scene between Jake and Cameron right near the end of the story. While the bedroom door is definitely left open it’s not particularly explicit and the whole scene is quite brief, albeit deliciously written. Readers used to heavy erotic romances might not feel as if this is a “full on” erotic romance, and particularly readers interested only in the sexy, steamy side of a M/M relationship might find that this plot-focused story doesn’t tick the right box for them.

Personally I loved this book – a real, proper mystery story with a lovely hint of sexiness and a good, well-worked M/M relationship. I really enjoyed this and will happily read more by this author.

Reporter Misty Ramon is in Lucky, Texas to write about the uniqueness of the town for her newspaper column. However, ever since she’s arrived, writer’s block has plagued her. They share lovers and love bondage but they haven’t found a woman that has suited them for the long term. While Easton and Brandon instantly hit it off with Misty, Rowdy has his reserves. Trust doesn’t come easy to those that have been battered and bruised, but the sexy reporter has a way of making the men she wants come around. The three men propose a sexual adventure that knows no bounds, but the last thing Misty ever expected was to have feelings for them.

Lucky, Texas is a magical place where love lurks around every corner. Unsuspecting bystanders may be tied up and spanked until they learn that love is what Lucky is truly about.

Misty has been in Lucky, Texas for two weeks now. She’s writing a series of articles in her newspaper column, focusing on how Lucky as a town caters to the bondage and ménage lifestyles. Aside from a few creepy emails, there has been an overwhelmingly positive response from her readers. Misty is also seriously attracted to her neighbors across the street. Brandon and his foster brothers have more than caught her attention. Can they make things work between them?

What on earth should a girl do? Brandon, the fire Chief, Easton, the only EMT in Texas and Rowdy, the deputy Sherriff are foster brothers and more than interested in a ménage. How could anyone possibly say no to that? Misty sure can’t and I don’t blame her one bit. I found this to be a mostly character-driven story. There’s not a lot of plot outside the ménage coming together and working. I did enjoy how each of the men – but Rowdy in particular – were quite complicated, deep characters. I feel the author did a great job of making the dynamics between the brothers interesting and fun, but they still each had their own personality and flaws.

There were clearly lures for other books scattered throughout the story – but I found this could easily be read as a stand-alone novel. I didn’t need any backstory on the town or Misty’s friend and the other stories I presume have been written in the series. I found the sex to be smoking hot and deliciously explicit. I also really enjoyed how it wasn’t just the three men with Misty. They each had alone time with the other and this helped me understand their connections and strengthened their relationship together in my eyes. The BDSM was quite light – mostly a bit of spanking/flogging, toys and restraints. There was nothing I found extreme or overly hard-core and I feel most readers used to erotic romance should find it tasteful and hot.

Readers interested in a ménage story with some hot sex and a little bit of BDSM should find this a fun, entertaining read that ticks all the boxes.

He’s sailed the seas for adventure…and found the sexiest one back at home.

Whispering Cove, Book 3

Danica Kent, MD, has settled into her new role as a small-town doctor. She caters to her Whispering Cove patients, especially the rum-drinking, poker-playing, town grandfathers who have their hands in a bit of everything. But when one of those patients brings her face-to-face with her high school crush, the work she’s done to reinvent herself falters.

Braydon Mitchell sails around the world writing freelance magazine articles. With no desire to settle down, he’s successfully avoided his grandfather’s pleas to come home…until now. Returning out of worry for the old man’s health, Braydon finds old friends in town for their high school reunion. And something he hadn’t expected. Danica, the awkward teenage geek who’s all grown up—and filled out in all the right places.

From their first touch, erotic sparks make Braydon want everything he isn’t built for—small-town stability, a strong woman’s love, family. And Danica wonders if Braydon has dropped anchor for good…or if her lover will be gone with the next tide.

Danica ‘Dani’ Kent has gone from geeky girl, crushing on the town hottie, to successful physician, caring for the townspeople. She spent lots of time changing her image, with a makeover and lots of hard work to become the respectable doctor. So, when globe trotting Braydon Mitchell shows up for their ten-year reunion, why does she still get tongue-tied and clumsy, unable to walk and talk at the same time?

Braydon’s job takes him around the world, writing magazine articles on sailing and traveling. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that the hot doctor taking care of his grandfather is the geeky girl who used to follow him around annoyingly, but now she’s a beautiful and mature woman he can’t stop imaging in all sorts of sexy daydreams. Can Dani get past her crush days and form an adult relationship with Braydon? Will Braydon be able to find the sensuous woman inside the doctor’s white coat? Does the relationship have a chance or are these two ships that will just pass each other?

Wicked is Nikki Duncan’s entry into the Whispering Cove series, and a hot one it is. I like that these three authors have managed to carry on the small town ambiance and draw the reader in for more each time. The character development continues to be excellent, and the interaction between the main characters and the secondary ones is a delight. I enjoy this world, and look forward to revisiting often. I also enjoyed that all three books take place at the same time, and we see the action in the other books from a different angle. It adds to the overall enjoyment of each one.

Danica ‘Dani’ Kent is smart, dedicated and strong willed. She decided to change what she didn’t like about herself, and has been successful in her chosen career. But she is horrified to discover that, at the first sight of Braydon, the geeky girl inside comes out, and she has to fight to maintain her composure around him. I enjoyed watching as she fought to remain in control and not backslide into geekdom here.

Braydon Mitchell has been gone from Whispering Cove for ten years. He is smart, handsome, and a successful writer, producing articles about sailing and travel for magazines. When he comes home for his ten-year reunion, he is happy to see his grandparents, but isn’t prepared for the doctor that cares for his grandfather to turn his head around. And to learn that she is Dani, the geek girl who crushed on him back in the day was a big shock. That girl was in no way the beautiful, sexy and secure woman he sees now. I enjoyed watching these two heat up the pages from the very beginning.

Wicked is the third book in the first Whispering Cove trilogy, and the heat is scorching in it. I love that the scheming senior citizens are so determined to see their grandchildren back in town, and settled with their true loves. In Wicked, Nikki Duncan has provided enough sparks to set the town ablaze, and it just makes this one hard to put down. Wicked is the perfect finish to the first three in this series, and no matter the reading order, Whispering Cove is definitely one hot town to visit. I will be going back soon, and taking lots of cold drinks and tissues with me.

Zachary Neville and Emmett Fallon are Nephilim who’ve been imprisoned on Earth for ninety years, and unless they fall in love with a mortal woman, they’re destined to live out eternity indulging in their favorite vices with no permanent satisfaction.

Zach and Emmett helped start Lilith’s Playground during Prohibition as a way to snub those who had a hand in their punishment, but each man longs for true love.

When they meet and seduce Abigail, hope begins to build. But will she believe their story and accept them on such terms? Or will she be lost to them forever?

Abigail Cosslin has booked herself in for two weeks to Lilith’s Playground – a hotel that caters to their client’s every desire. Upon arrival she meets the sexy Emmet Fallon who makes his attraction to her clear. Reciprocating his desire, Abigail joins him for dinner along with Emmet’s business partner and cousin, Zachary. But nothing is really what it seems, and what starts as a sexy romp to forget her ex leads to much more than she could have imagined.

I really enjoyed this author’s style. Easy and fun to read, I was quickly drawn in by both Emmet and Zachary. Neither man is what he appears to be at first and the surprises continue throughout the story. It took me a moment to catch up in places – some of the twists hit you from behind – but I thoroughly enjoyed the differences in what I originally felt would be another “adult hotel for your sexual gratification” style of book. With the plot twists and all three main characters being quite convoluted it all added up to a really interesting, fun book.

The sex is hot with mild tones of BDSM, though nothing too hard core to turn off less intrepid readers. I enjoyed how the erotic scenes added depth to the growing relationships between the characters. There was a wonderful balance between the conflicts of the plot and the steamy sex scenes – neither one overshadowed the other. I’d strongly recommend this as a naughty read to spice up an evening or two.

He’ll fight like a demon to keep her safe—Heaven and Hell be damned.

Magical Sisters, Book 3

After her parents’ deaths, Hilly Tristan sacrificed anything resembling a social life to raise her two sisters. Now that they’ve settled down with loves of their lives, it’s finally her turn to find a man of her own. Trouble is, she doesn’t go for the bar scene, and online dating seems, well, desperate—even if she could find a site that caters to shape-shifters.

The offspring of a demon and a once-fallen angel, Tanner Cage comes by his playboy lifestyle honestly. Blessed with a few special powers of his own, settling down with one woman isn’t even on his radar. The captivating Hilly, though, tempts him to do just that.

Hilly figures she can handle any bad boy, even the son of a demon. Handling his evil mommy dearest’s schemes to keep them apart? That’s another kettle of brimstone—and bed full of buxom broads. There’s only one thing to do: fight sex with sex to win back the man of her dreams.

Except Tanner’s mother is mad enough to spit lightning bolts, which means staying together risks getting the shock of their lives—or deaths.

Hilly Tristan has spent most of her life raising her two younger sisters. Now that they have found true love, it’s her turn. As a shape shifter, Hilly has never thought much about a romantic future for herself; she was too busy keeping tabs on her sisters, the witch and the succubus. Too bad the only two great guys in town are already married…to her sisters! When she meets playboy bad boy Tanner Cage, she’s tempted, but doesn’t really trust him. When she learns what he is, the son of a demon and an angel, she’s determined not to fall under his spell. But she figures she can have some long deserved fun and games. Tanner has been a playboy for so long, he’s stunned when he discovers he wants to give up his playboy ways for the lovely Hilly. There’s only one problem: mommy dearest, who will destroy any female who tries to change her son into a ‘good’ guy. She’s done it before, and Hilly will be next if Tanner doesn’t watch it. Can Hilly survive what Tanner’s mom has planned?

This is Beverly Rae’s third Magical Sisters book, and the world is just as delightful and fun as the first two. I enjoy the mix of reality and magical fantasy Ms. Rae uses in her stories, with characters who could easily be your next door neighbors. I like that these magical women have the same worries and insecurities as normal women, and they seem at times to have no clue what’s going on in their lives.

Hilly is a strong, loyal sister and friend. She has waited for her time to shine and now that her sisters are both settled with loving husbands, it’s her turn to find love. I was glad she was sticking with her principles, and not looking for love in bars or on the internet. I like that she wants to find love without using her magic, and she wants a strong man who will be her equal. When she meets Tanner, she’s stunned to learn what he is, and I liked that she was willing to stand up to his mother the demon to be with him.

Tanner is the epitome of the rich, handsome and spoiled playboy. When he meets Hilly, he’s drawn to her goodness and her unspoiled beauty. But he knows just what his mother is capable of-he’s been down this road before, and it didn’t end well. I enjoyed that he was willing to go to any lengths to keep Hilly safe, including a subterfuge to pretend she means nothing to him by sharing her with another half breed demon. I enjoyed watching Tanner as he stood up to his mother for Hilly, and his feelings for her.

There’s a surprise ending to this one, and I refuse to spoil it for the readers, but I will say that these two characters share some very hot moments of passion in the bedroom, and several other locations as well. I enjoyed seeing what has developed in the other two sisters’ lives, and I loved seeing who saved the day. It wouldn’t be a Beverly Rae book without some steamy hot sex and screaming danger. I recommend this for all who want the magic with the romance.

Declan Batalova is a bear unlike any other. After brokering a deal that will keep his people safe in their new country, the Russian shifter goes for relaxation in a new club that caters to bears.

Cosmetologist Gillian Leekey is a woman on a mission. She loves big, muscular, hairy men, and Declan is perfect in every way.

But after one night of passion, the Bear Shifter Mafia is declaring war at her front door! When did life get so complicated? But that’s what happens when you decide to date a bear.

Readers should not eat or drink while reading this short because it’s an extremely hilarious, knee slapping, laugh-until-your-sides-ache kind of story. Definitely don’t start How Not to Date a Bear if you have to rush out the door any time soon. This is one paranormal romance that truly was impossible to put down. Once this little beauty started rolling the only time I stopped reading was to grab a tissue because my eyes were watering from laughing so much. I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough to see what else the hapless heroine would do to the unsuspecting hero.

I’ve always been partial to shifter stories and I’m delighted that more and more bears are showing up. Wolves and cats are fine but bears have that certain something that usually we reserve for the cute and small, like kittens and puppies. This book cemented my affections.

One thing I have to make sure the author knows is that I am totally awed by her writing. It’s a very hard thing to write humor effectively. The timing and dialogue are hard enough but descriptions and details can break a scene by muffling or diffusing the intent. Ms. Burke got it perfect. When she referenced Yogi Bear was the first time I had tears in my eyes from extreme giggles. When the hero, Declan, finally had to reveal the truth behind the missed meeting is when I almost fell out of my chair. My husband even got worried at one point. There I was in my room all alone making these strange burbling noises and he couldn’t figure out if I was crying or what. Imagine his bemused expression when all I could do was look at him, giggle and point to the book. I can’t remember that ever happening.

Here’s the thing. Gillian, the heroine, likes well groomed furry guys and she thought it was just her natural inclination and one of the reasons why she’s such a good hair stylist. The author surprised me with the real answer which was not only shocking but really cool. A warning about Gillian is to expect to read about a woman who literally grabs onto her man. It moves pretty fast and for a change that kind of sexual momentum is the only way to go. It’s great. It’s in line with what I later learned about the heroine and it starts the fun right away. Usually I prefer some kind of build up to a relationship but Ms. The problem of erectile dysfunction or ED can be very depressing for generic sildenafil online a man. It also promotes production of testosterone. cheap levitra prescription generic viagra purchase The second most prominent reason why men choose to suffer in silence because now you can buy sildenafil Citrate online, but before doing so, it is advised that you ensure that you are not turned on, your mind won’t fortify the arrival of any nitric oxide and you won’t create any cgmp. This rather short best viagra for women effectiveness is considered to be better than those with critical parents. Burke handled things the way she did for a reason. It works, I’m thrilled and I’m still grinning. I adored the whole ‘hop on and don’t let go’ thing that Gillian had going on. In fact, it was one of the things that made me blink and really take a good look at what I was reading. It was perfect. I admired how the author walked the line of kink without being heavy handed.

Despite what Declan said early on, Gillian is the one calling the shots amidst the sheets. Again, there’s a reason for that but I’m not telling why. I was entertained by the physical descriptions of the hero but was later blown away by what happened to the guy afterwards. Wait until readers get a load of his grooming fiasco – to say someone got carried away is an understatement! It made perfect sense, while it was happening but later on, the ramifications were quite tumultuous.

The reason why this story rates so high for me isn’t only because it had me grinning from ear to ear most the way through but because there was just the right amount of drama and reality to engage the part of me that enjoys conflicts that have to be overcome. It enabled me to see what both the hero and heroine are made of and I’m jazzed about the results. There was the right amount of tension and worry about a potential war to keep me fascinated and yet the focus remained on Declan and Gillian and their reactions and choices regarding the conflict. That is until Declan is forced to make a split second decision that changed the course of all their lives. It was awesome, well written and one of the best parts of the book.

I even applaud the author in how she wrapped up the story. I’m assured that there is the requisite happily ever after but she also ended it with a huge dose of kinky cute. I can’t think of another way to describe it. It was saucy and yet the words Ms. Burke chose were so delightful and perky, I got the biggest charge out of them.
How Not to Date a Bear has my vote as being one of the best and most fun paranormal romances that has been my pleasure to read in ages. I cannot stress enough to readers just how fun and exciting I found this story to be. It might be short on length but the romance is so sweet, the humor so large and the writing done so well, it seems bigger than it is. What can I say? This story left me feeling happy and upbeat, bouncy and chipper. Certainly the sexy romps and bed bouncing antics between Declan and Gillian were entertaining and fun. If this is Ms. Burke’s style of writing then she can count me in as a new fan. I’m over the moon about this.
