When hard-driving CEO Rick Nordan arrives in Lobster Cove under strict orders from the family doctor to take a break, he discovers the rental house comes with a family attached, including one sexy dynamo of a caterer. She’s nothing like his ex-fiancee who wouldn’t sign a pre-nup, but maybe that means she’s the real deal and not a gold digger.

Maya Cruz wants life for her widowed mother to get easier by renting out her house during the summer. But teaching Mama business means explaining Rick isn’t a “guest,” he’s a “customer.” And the first thing Mama does is invite Rick to join their family activities. Having Rick around wouldn’t be so bad if Maya didn’t find him so attractive. The last time she fell for a vacationing millionaire, she had her heart broken.

She swore off his type, and he’s not looking, but this might be a recipe for love.

Rick Nordon, A hard working CEO is given the order by his doctor to take a break away from work and electronics. His Doc also recommends a house/cottage in a small town that he could rent and get away from the city life.

The moment he meets Maya Cruz and her Mama in his temporary getaway he starts forming a relationship not only with Maya but with everyone. From the mother to the sisters to the best friends.

To help her widowed mother earn some passive income, Maya helps her rent out their cottage. She never expected that renter to be the very wealthy Rick. Maya’s heart has already been stomped on by a vacationing millionaire. She doesn’t want to get hurt all over again.

I absolutely loved how the whole story started. It was equal parts heartwarming and passionate. Rick comes from a corporate background but he’s not a complete jerk or egoistical. Okay, he has a huge ego but I think he shows a lot more heart than that. From the start there is respect for Maya’s mama and the banter between them was fun as well as sizzling. I could feel the heat practically oozing out of the story.

Maya’s relationship with Rick is touching and believable. Though they had chemistry and passion right from the start, both of them made a couple of mistakes, more than once. Even though that made me believe in the story, it also made me skeptical and unsure. Wouldn’t they have understood each other and themselves better right around the first time they made the error/mistake? For me it felt like they were making the same mistakes again and again.

I love the author’s writing style because it was descriptive, not overly so but enough to allow me to enjoy and want to learn and go fishing. From this day onwards, I will never think of fishing as boring. Never!

That being said, I think the ending was perfect. I think that there is definitely going to be a second book or even a third one (at least I hope so!) because I’m very much excited to know how it will all go from there.

I would very much recommend this book to any Contemporary Romance Lovers. Anyone who loves the mismatch combination of the corporate world with a culinary world would also love this.

Although dealing in romance, Emma’s cynical in matters of love because Brock Cage stood her up on their wedding day. He’s in the National Guard and Emma thinks he’s long gone and forgotten but in he walks into Club Botticelli one night and things get complicated.

Some of my favorite stories are those where two characters, especially ex lovers, reunite. There’s the magic of them falling in love all over again and Standifer does a perfect job with that. This is beneficial both for the patient as generic sildenafil tablets well as doctor. However, the author keeps you on edge as to why he jilted Emma and it makes you uneasy, especially during love scenes. The author does a good job making you wonder if someone is going to get hurt, and it takes the tension up a notch.

My only complaint, I wanted more story for these two. The first chapter focused on most of Emma’s friends. I realize this is part of a series but I would have preferred more emphasis on Emma. I would have also preferred that she and Brock reconnected sooner. The love scenes are spicy hot and there are lots of them.

The book does feature an array of fun characters and it did perk my interest into maybe reading another book in the series. If you like story with a common thread and reoccurring characters in erotic romances, I’d say give the Club Botticelli books a try.

While searching for her missing brother, Micki Langley visits a nightclub with a notorious reputation as ménage a trois central and comes face-to-face with two amazing men straight from her fantasies.

Ancient jinn Jared endures heavy guilt and wants nothing to do with the human girl. Tripling is necessary to keep immortals alive, but his hunger for Micki is far beyond normal.

Though warrior angel Bradley completes their threesome, he despises Jared for his tainted reputation. He vows the jinn won’t hurt the gorgeous human and has no problem fighting him to prove it.

But when the threesome comes together, they share more than an exchange of energy, they share an unshakable bond that generates astounding power. Their enemies seek to destroy their perfect triad, which could unsettle the balance of power between angels and demons. Will the threesome be able to stand strong together – in trust and love – to defeat the relentless evil?

Micki Langley’s brother is missing. He left a voice mail telling her to bring his flash drive to a club called Zone Three, and give it to someone named David. As Micki waits for David, she catches the attention of Jared, a jinn carrying a heavy load of guilt, and an angel named Bradley. David has told them to help her, because Micki is not altogether human herself. And she is throwing off so much magical power, it is starting to bring the wrong kind of attention to her presence in the club.

The only solution is for Jared and Bradley to “triple” with her to draw the power into themselves. Problem is, Jared is unwilling in spite of his attraction to Micki, and Bradley hates Jared because of his past actions. How do you come up with the titles to your books?
This is a very difficult process. In this series every title is a song, so the music creates an actual ballad, and the title has to be appropriate for the book, as well as something I’d actually like listening to over and over again. Still haven’t picked the third book’s title yet.

Share your dream cast for your book.
So Jack Graven for me is always going to be my buddy Brad Hackworth. Michael Fassbender for Tyler Graven. Idris Elba as Lucifer, who might be able to play Richard as well, not sure if this should be two different people or not. They look different in the book, but they’re the same person. I have no idea who could play Masha. And Jeong Ji-hoon for Jin, as long as he still looks young.

Corporal Jack Graven should be dead. Murdered by a vengeful angel at his own father’s funeral, Jack is resurrected and returns to life carrying a terrible secret: he is the Archangel Gabriel reincarnated.

Jack’s not the only one with secrets. His older brother, Lieutenant Colonel Tyler Graven “Demon of Kyoto”, has just inherited his father’s fortune and legacy as Lord of War, with no intention of stopping there: Tyler will someday rule the world.

The brothers reunite their elite military unit, “The Four Horsemen,” with Tyler’s longtime flame Colonel Diana Levitas and the mysterious Lance Corporal Jin Xialong. Together they seek to uncover the truth of Jack’s past life and propel Tyler to his impossible destiny.

Thrust into a supernatural war, the Gravens find salvation through the Black Muramasa, a cursed black katana and the only weapon that can destroy immortals. As they uncover more mysteries behind the ancient blade, they come face to face with the Devil himself, but in the most familiar of faces. Their pasts, presents, and futures all linked, the Four Horsemen must end the war once and for all to survive with their souls intact. Failing could mean the end of the world.

A follow up to the explosive first book in the Ballad of Fallen Angels series, “Sympathy for the Devil,” Book 2 is an action-packed, gun-slinging adventure that packs the punch of a military thriller with high-stakes supernatural intrigue.

Her body reclined before me in the soft satin sheets as a pale canvas draped against blood-red curtains. The early morning rays of light warned me that our time together would soon finish, this thought leaving a sadness in me stronger than the sadness of being with her. This sadness rose and fell like her bosom with each breath taken, eating away at my lustful desire to touch her. Instead, I gazed at her slumbering form, wondering if our time together was simply another adventure or if she harbored true feelings for me. Perhaps it was simply revenge for the lies she had been told. Another breath, another desire, then sadness. Then again.

Shame.

The word echoed repeatedly through my mind.

Seconds morphed into minutes, minutes into hours. I stared cautiously at the beauty of her backside, and her lean body inhaling and exhaling. My own breathing harbored a more physical pain than the betrayal I had wrought, the bullet wounds and cracked ribs popping painfully with every exhale. My pain soon blended into a chaos of emotion that swirled within me, a lustful desire for her competing against the shame of betrayal the act brought.

How can I look Tyler in the eye after this?

Perhaps the betrayal came from Tyler himself.

Did he know it was a trap?

Do you know what your problem is?

Celestine, the fifth of seven sisters, is tired of hearing about hers. Father thinks she’s frivolous because she likes pretty clothes and caters to the crowds in the taverns who adore her music. They’re both wrong. Celestine hides a secret she has kept for most of her life.

As the family beauty and a talented musician with a lyrical voice, she has the best prospects for marriage to a prince. When such a liaison never happens, people assume Celestine is too choosy. But even in somewhat tolerant Ilari, a daughter hates to disappoint her family. How can she tell them she’s in love with a princess instead?

Lucky for Celestine, all her sisters are obsessed with an invading army headed to their realm. Celestine would rather ignore the threat and enjoy the freedom their lack of attention gives her. But, her voice can unlock a power that may help save Ilari. And the woman she loves is determined to fight these invaders. And her family, for all their talents, seems clueless about how to motivate the masses.

Celestine knows she can inspire the citizens of Ilari to do what needs to be done. Is it time to put her inhibitions aside and use her voice to save those she cares about?

Over the rest of Keva, the days grew uncomfortably warm and my mood grew more foul. I saw Firuza from a distance a few times but our eyes never met. Why should they? I couldn’t live in K‘ba, I couldn’t even visit. What sort of future did she and I have?

My lodging had used up most of the coins I’d brought. More were hidden in my room back on the farm, but I still didn’t feel ready to go back to Vinx and face my family. I sent a message home telling them I was well. My father was right, it was the least I could do. When a messenger arrived at the door of my small room a day later, I assumed my parents had sent a response.

The messenger raised her palm in front of her face and began reciting.

“Prince Nevik of Pilk requests your presence at lunch today. Noon at the Crested Lark. He has questions regarding your music and hopes you will do him the honor of humoring him with your answers.”

Would I attend? Of course I would. It was a free lunch at The Crested Lark and I owed his princely highness an apology for insinuating he’d treated my sister like a cad.

I searched the room to find my cleanest frock.

Nevik stood to greet me and waved off my curtsey as though it didn’t matter. Today the intimate dining space at the Crested Lark was set with many small tables for two and all were filled. I’d heard it was difficult to get a seat here for lunch.

The occupants of every table stopped to stare at the prince dining with the cabaret singer.

“You wished to ask me questions about music, sire?” I projected my voice to carry to every table.

Nevik smiled. “Yes. I’ve been told you have the expertise to assist me. Please. Sit.”

Others turned back to their meals, satisfied nothing particularly interesting was happening after all.

“Clever,” he muttered.

I shrugged. “Do you actually play an instrument?”

“I do. I prefer the lute. I played it as a young lad until my father decided fencing was more appropriate for a prince. Now I do both poorly.”

Some women wouldn’t have liked his self-effacing good humor, but in a world full of men who strutted and growled, I found him charming. I suspected Ryalgar did too, including ways I did not. Despite our differences, I applauded her taste.

“You owe me an apology,” he said. “You’ve had plenty of time to unearth the truth.”

“Yes. My sister kept this well-hidden from me and most of my family, and I’m sure she did it out of concern for you. It appears your love story with her is complicated and yet you two have found a way.”

“It’s hardly the life I’d have chosen to share with a woman,” he said. “Yet, my loss may be the realms’ gain. She’s amazing and her plans to save Ilari grow more complex with each day. I think she may succeed.”

Welcome to the AirB&D! We hope you enjoy your stay.

James Lawrey is a CEO with plenty of cred in corporate circles and plenty of cash to go with it. Privately, though, he’s learned the hard way that it might be impossible to find the one thing he can’t buy–a young man to look after who wants and needs a real Daddy, not just a sugar daddy.

Textile artist Rye Henry’s last relationship went up in flames when his ex told him it was time to grow up. Rye’s got a lucrative business of his own, so he needs a lover who isn’t going to try to change him, a Daddy who wants his true devotion.

But could they get more than their money’s worth?

Of course. Just leave it to the matchmaker.

James and Rye have both paid a pretty penny for a weekend of their dreams at a very specific AirB&B, one that caters to certain men with a certain fantasy in mind. Will they find the weekend exactly to their taste, or will they both end up craving more?

This is a lovely short story that I was delightfully surprised by. While the concept isn’t particularly new I really enjoyed the small differences that made this thoroughly modern and the snippets of hints we learn about the two matchmakers running the AirB&B itself. Most importantly though I adored the two main characters – James and Rye – and found they both exceeded my expectations.

I’ve not been particularly drawn to the recent influx of “daddy kink” style of stories. While I don’t mind the trope itself it doesn’t really fully resonate with me so I was a little hesitant to read another story with that as a strong aspect to it. I’m glad that I allowed myself to be swayed into giving this story a whirl though as while the kink was certainly present, I found it didn’t overwhelm the story and both James and Rye’s personalities and characters shone through.

I felt the author did a good job balancing between the romance and the erotic aspects of this story. I thought the connection and blossoming love between James and Rye was well handled and while they only had a weekend to forge a bond together, I found it largely believable and the two characters very well suited. There is some very mild BDSM (a very small bit of kink and spanking) but for the most part I feel readers who don’t usually enjoy those elements shouldn’t be too put off by it.

Fun and short this was a lovely, erotic short story that I quite enjoyed.

Nella had thought that the first time she crossed the line from helping into harming that her fate had been set. And then Eliza Fanning comes into her life and her fate is rearranged, but is it for the better? What she – and Eliza – don’t realize is that their chance encounter will also shape the fate and future of someone in the far future. A woman named Caroline Parcewell, a woman dealing with her own demons.

I have to say that, although what I got was not anything like what I was expecting, I thoroughly enjoyed The Lost Apothecary. Stories that alternate timelines are a favorite of mine. It’s fascinating to me how they seem to run parallel right up until that point where they become intermeshed with one another.

Of the three characters, twelve-year-old Eliza is probably my favorite. She’s stuck somewhere between child and young adult in a world where young girls become women overnight. I thought the author portrayed her well. She’s a smart kid with a good work ethic, however she still has her childish fears and ideas as well. Seeing her determination overcome her fears and worries as she helps Nella was one of the best parts of the novel.

Nella is a conflicted character. As much as she wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps and do no harm, betrayal in her past soured her on men. Especially men who lied, cheated, and betrayed other women. Her internal conflict really drives her and Eliza’s portion of the story. Her reluctant friendship with Eliza was her saving grace, I think.

I felt for Caroline and really loved that she decided to ditch her cheating husband and take their anniversary trip on her own. Honestly, I can’t blame her – she needed that escape. I related to Caroline more than any of the other characters due to her giving up so much for what she thought was good reasons, only to discover later she’d cheated herself out of what she’d wanted. Her drive and desire for answers also resonated with me and I lived for each little discovery she made.

One part contemporary mystery, one part historical fiction, with a dash of magical realism tossed in just for pizzazz, The Lost Apothecary is an interesting, engaging romp through both present-day London and the London of 1791. While I had gone in expecting something more action-packed and intense, the author still delivered an emotionally charged, engrossing story of three women separated by centuries and yet still tied together through time.

I really enjoyed this slow-paced and romantic holiday romance. I loved the buildup between Oliver and Noah – the fact they didn’t just eye each other off in the train, fall instantly in lust and jump into bed. Oliver was shy and very lonely and Noah might have been successful in his career but he wanted to be liked for himself and not his bank balance. I was pleased that each man was realistic, relatable and the author gave me enough time to get to know them both independently to want them to come together and see how they could form a relationship together.

I felt the conflict in the story was a little cliched but enough of the surrounding sub-plot, who Oliver and Noah both really were and their deep and genuine attraction to each other, managed to carry the story through this roughness. Readers looking for a fresh or unique story-line won’t find that here, but I was really pleased both Oliver and Noah’s characters were interesting and relatable. The sex between the two men was equal parts tender and hot, and I was really impressed that the author didn’t rush to have them jump into bed or fall in insta-lust.

With a good pace, strong characters and a lovely Christmassy setting this story had a lot going for it and overall I really enjoyed it.

Tyler teams up with his former military unit, The Four Horseman, including his brother, crack-shot Corporal Jack Graven, the mysterious Lance Corporal Jin Xialong, and his one-time flame Colonel Diana Levitas. Once, they were an elite fighting team known for completing two of the most successful campaigns against terrorism ever launched. Now, they’ll find themselves locked in a war with The Church, the most influential organization on the planet–and pitted against the supernatural forces of the Underworld itself.

During their mission, Tyler and Jack learn of the legendary Black Muramasa, the only weapon that can destroy immortals such as demons, angels, vampires, seraphim, and nephilim. As they uncover the secrets of the ancient black blade–and their own heritage–they are faced with unforetold powers and infinite evils. If the Four Horsemen succeed, they may save themselves. If they fail, it’ll cost them their sanity, their lives, and even their souls…

Here comes an action-packed, gun-slinging fantasy adventure that packs the punch of a military thriller combined with high-stakes supernatural intrigue.

Jack was in a somber mood as he led the way into the hole-in-the-wall bar called Pandora’s Lounge. He seemed more frigid than usual, and he limped when he walked. His normal stoicism was replaced with something that seemed akin to sorrow. I, on the other hand, entered with fists clenched, a gnawing in my stomach, and the stone cold certainty that I was walking into a lion’s den. I gritted my teeth and followed.

There weren’t many patrons visible in the gloomy lighting of the barren drinking hole. One man sat at the center of the bar, the chairs surrounding him vacant. On the far side of the bar a couple of old men who appeared to have mined coal since they could carry the sooty substance cast unwelcoming stares from blackened faces. Their hands gripped their mugs in vice grips that dared the world to try and loosen their grasps. They mumbled inaudibly about what I assumed was what the weather would be like tomorrow, or perhaps it was concerning the aches in their bones. Perhaps it was one and the same.

I eyed Jack with caution, uncertain as to what he would do next. The shadow seated center stage never so much as turned in our direction. He gazed ahead, both sleeping and awake, his hands folded one over the other in front of a still-full pint. Unconsciously, my hands inched toward my waist.

“I didn’t expect to see you again,” The Priest grunted, without so much as turning his head. “Long way from home pups. Run along. Your nanny must be worried sick.”

Jack said nothing. I couldn’t see his face, but he stood motionless with his hands at his sides, his legs slightly cocked as if he were about to ask The Priest to draw. I felt cool sweat begin to swell on my brow, and it trickled languidly down my face in an unending moment of silence.

The Priest snorted.

“I’ve got no problem with you pups. If you’ve got something to say, say it. If not, get.”

Silence.

The old men at the far end of the bar scooped up their drinks, and quickly ducked out the back entrance.

“I don’t see Revolver. And you ain’t bold or fast enough boy.”
