I loved the title, it’s what first attracted me towards this book.

The story was not what I expected. It’s a simple love story with hot passionate sex included. The beginning of the story set the bar and expectations really high. It was funny and the dialogue was clever.

Since the book is very short, it felt like there wasn’t time for the relationship to blossom or truly develop beyond insta-chemistry. To her credit, the author tried to show their relationship and why they fell in love and how they fell in love. But the length of the story restricted a lot of it.

The ending was a little surprise but it really worked for me. I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t have a lot of time but wants a romance that will bring out the sighs and the smiles.

I love action packed romances and this one had action, romance, fight scenes, love and so much more. There were highs and lows for me in this book.

The author is descriptive and did a good job of helping the readers visualize the scenes, especially fight scenes. Though the constant POV changes were an issue for me. The continuous back and forth POV between Brisa and Wings, made it so there were times I felt like I was forcing myself to continue read it. There were also some editing issues that would be easy to fix.

However, I’m thankful I read the book to the end. The suspense and the mystery paid off. The climax was action packed and worth the wait.

Brisa is more than a ring fighter, she’s a spy, dispatched to clean up the bad things or actions in the MMA world around the country. She’s also very intelligent. The author did a good job revealing a lot about Brisa.

The big bad of this trilogy is revealed and shut down with the help of Brisa and her love interest, Wings. I felt that there was somethings regarding these spy missions I was missing because this is the third book in the series. Reading the books in order would likely make the series as a whole more enjoyable.

I think readers who like stories set in exotic locations but with the familiarity of motorcycle club themes could enjoy this book. The mystery element along with the players was unique. Brisa and Wing’s story as well the as the plot was revealed slowly and it was a great ending to a good book and closure to the series.

This is a cleverly plotted and written story. As the lives of both Ellias and Sue get tangled up slowly, it’s filled with love and family, and the need to protect them when they are in danger or hurt.

The passionate chemistry between them, and Sue’s need to love, cherish and mother not only her child but Ellias’ nephews, warmed my heart. Now this is not just a paranormal love story, the author has created an entire world of paranormals who live along with humans. It’s a world of paranormals who usually do not align or accept half breeds, or any kind of alliance with humans – especially when the alliance is romantic in nature.

Though this book can be read as a standalone, since I have not read the previous books, it felt like I was missing or losing something about this world that the author has created. I think I need to read the series from top to bottom to truly appreciate all the details.

Readers who look for a paranormal romance that centers around families should give this one a try. It hit all the right notes with plenty of romance and spice but mostly love.

There are multiple plots and the author has made sure that readers won’t get bored or get lost trying to keep track of what is happening. Joe and Cara’s first meeting was probably seeing her at her worst. In time they got to know each other well.

I would recommend to all readers to start from the first book to fully understand Catching Cara as there is one minor plot that started with the first book, which is still continuing. Though if readers want to read this one as a stand alone, they absolutely can.

Caleb is damaged. Jesse is a dominant and a strong personality but is a compassionate lover to Caleb. I saw the slow changes in Caleb and they were good changes. The conflict comes from their relationship possibly being in danger. In this book, life and love is precious. Their love blossomed and grew, but so did more problems. As those conflicts began to brew, Caleb knew what he had to do, he had to try his best. Jesse was trying equally hard to protect their relationship.

Something Shattered is a good romance with passion and chemistry that has the potential to heat you up.

Felicia has been working long enough with her colleagues in the library to know that there was no way that a linguistics specialist would have been found dead in that section of the library. Literally dead. She could have just let the detectives do their work and uncover the truth but she knew that the detectives would need her expertise. But of course they wouldn’t actually ask, right? An alpha male like Mark asking Felicia for help? That does not happen that easily. So, she did exactly what she needed to do–she started investigating and uncovering the mystery. That led to a lot of ‘accidents’ that could have almost either killed or significantly maimed her.

This was a wonderful story that captured my attention when I saw the title. The story was good but the mystery element of it was a little too stretched. By that I mean, it was almost glossed over. There’s more focus on Felicia and Detective Rizzo’s chemistry. Plenty of that and the hot action to back it up. The romance became the backdrop or background until halfway through. This is a good romantic mystery read and a good beginning to a new series. It’s like a cozy mystery with an extra shot of sizzle.

This is the 9th Book in this series, but let me tell you it did not at all feel like I was reading the 9th book. I completely forgot this was the 9th book.

This is a paranormal with bits and pieces of mystery and suspense in it. I’m glad. I liked the mix. There was a broken vampire, a doctor with a ‘Dr. Frozen’ reputation, and passion. Those are not the only interesting things in this book. There was so much more! There are multiple plots in this story and I loved that. It kept me on my toes and never let me get bored. Yes, it also made me want to know more and more about them and the author delivered all the answers. The climax was ‘epic’ and very momentous. I’m glad I got to read this book.

Luke and Alexis together is a passionate combo. Alexis changes when she meets Luke. No more Dr. Frozen–she’s now ‘Hot Doctor’ and she’s a brilliant doctor who is also known for having a cold demeanor towards others. Luke is a broken, but a very dangerous vampire. Their first meeting made me smile. When she realizes that he is her neighbor, all bets are off. But Alexis isn’t the only one with a chance to change. Luke does, too. It was not easy for him to let go of his carefully buried heart. He did not want to get hurt, but no one can change the future or know what will happen. Ms. Hughes showed me second chances do happen.

For readers who are not just satisfied with a simple paranormal romance, this is the perfect story for you. It has action, sizzling hot romance and vampires. I got tons more than I expected an it was great. Recommended.

Dominec has gone through hell and back and the only reason he’s alive is revenge. Revenge for what he has lost. He’s determined to take revenge on the organization who has stolen his his family, gave him scars both mentally and physically.

After his escape from the organization that took so much from him, he became a member of the Lone Pine Pride for one reason, revenge. That’s what he wanted, planned for. Thanks to some volatile anger issues, he’s stuck with a babysitter. Grace is no Mary Poppins, but she’s the only female lieutenant of the pride. At first, I thought he’d hate her but, what he starts to feel more for his ‘babysitter’ isn’t anywhere near child’s play.

Dominec and Grace, well, their relationship from the start has been off the charts rocky. Grace, a lioness, is a feisty fighter but also someone who is, unofficially, the person that everyone comes to unload their stress and all. This made her an endearing character because she didn’t act like she had to be tough all the time.

Somehow Dominec trusts and cares about Grace. What I loved about their relationship was he understood Grace when her family had difficulty understanding her. He knew that she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself and did not try to smother her with over-protectiveness though he would follow her around everywhere he could and only interfere when he’s positive she needs helps.

They had understanding as well as burn-your-clothes kind of passion. According to Grace, Dominec is unpredictable and according to Dominec, Grace is a pain in his tail, but a pain he’s willing to protect if she needed that.

Descriptive, with a plot about a nightmare organization and the shifters fighting to protect themselves. The plot unfolds with each page read and ensnared me to the end. Reader’s who like a strong female lead and man who’s strong enough to follow, should give this one a try.

Josh McClintock is a hard worker, helping his father on their family ranch. But by night he parties hard. The consummate playboy, it would be hard to truly dislike Josh and to his credit he is attracted to Nettie, he just didn’t plan to marry her. Actually, his plans didn’t extend past the next willing bed partner. There was some real humor in the situation that forces Josh and Nettie to wed. That was nice because the author could have taken it into a different direction when Nettie’s dad walks in demanding answers.

This is a historical novel where the setting, language and colorful descriptions felt very accurate. It was easy to picture the story as it played out. The story is simple, not overly complicated. What really makes this story special are the characters. They were easy to cheer for and it was nice to see them end with a HEA despite the rocky start. The writing and the plot are good. But the story highlights the characters, at their best and their worst.

McClintock’s Reluctant Bride shows how family and love can come into your life in different ways. It has humor, heart and just enough heat to satisfy readers who enjoy a good western historical romance that begins with a shotgun wedding. Worth the read.
