I like books by Rachel Van Dyken. She writes well and has generally interesting characters. This book wasn’t much different. I did like the writing and I did feel like I was in the head of the main character, Ian. The story was funny and I enjoyed seeing Blake come into her own. I even laughed at the issue with flip-flops.

That said, I really would’ve appreciated reading some of the book from Blake’s point of view. Ian was interesting, but good gravy… everything amounted to sex and he came across rather annoying. I get this was a male POV book and guys tend to think of little more than sex, but he had very little substance after a while. I would’ve liked to read Blake’s POV just to break of the monotony.

Still, I liked when Blake and Ian sorted out their differences. They had good chemistry and I wanted her to get what she wanted.

If you want a book that’s a definite change from the norm, then this might be the book for you. It’s snappy, funny and a tad edgy. Give it a try.

One thing that took me out of the story was the use of independent body parts. It was a tad jarring when a character’s hand seemed to move independently of the rest of him or her. That said, I still liked the book and I’m glad I got to read it.

Mel is easy to relate to–she’s had a rough patch and well, she wants to try again in dating. Who hasn’t been there? Then there’s Adam. I loved the description of him. I wanted to lick him, too. He’s sweet and perfect for her.

Oh, and you’ll understand the meaning of the word stay, but with a hero like Dolfe…reasoning would be pretty difficult. Grin.

I love a friends to lovers story and this one fit the bill. I liked the characters and zipped right through the book. Noah and Thomas were interesting and I would love to see them in a longer book. I liked them as a couple and since this was a shorter story, a little more would definitely make this reader happy. I want to spend more time with them and got emotionally involved.

There were a couple of minor point of view slips and quite a bit of telling versus showing me the story, though. A few times I wasn’t sure whose point of view I was in. Also, the author intrusions took away from the plot, but I was able to keep going. Another run-through by the editor for typos and repeated words would make this gem really shine, too.

The characters are great and interesting. Thomas is relatable because he’s so guarded. He’s been through a lot and came out on the other side in one piece. I liked him. Then there’s Noah. The guy could be clueless, but it was oddly endearing. I liked seeing him grow through the short tale.

If you want a hot story and are short on time, then this might be the right book for you.

This is the first book by Raven McAllan I’ve ever read and I’m glad I remedied that. Her writing is interesting and kept my attention. The characters are rich and defined. I felt like I was in Scotland with the pair.

Cat and Angus are unique characters. I’ve read time travel books and liked them. This book was no different. I really felt transported. Now there were a few times I had to go back and reread to make sure I understood what was happening, but it wasn’t a problem. I could see Angus in my mind and it was so worth the time. As much as Cat could be cantankerous, I liked her, too. She’s got pluck. Okay, so I don’t know if I would’ve believed some tale passed down in my family, either. I liked her apprehension and how she reacted to Angus. She had me in stitches. The romance swelters and the characters are great.

I love a good male-male story. Sexy, fun and engaging. This is one of those stories, but there is so much more to the tale than just sex. Zac and Ryan are white hot, especially when they get together and I had to know what would happen for these two guys. I raced through the book and wanted more when I finished.

There were a few things that held up my enjoyment of the story. While I liked Ryan and Zac, the romance seemed rather quick. I know this is a short story and there are only so many words, but it felt like the development between them was a tad rushed. Another thing that could’ve been improved was the speed with which Ryan and Zac went from sex to the rougher stuff. Now it wasn’t as rough as it could be, but I wanted to see a tick more emotion behind it, especially with the things Zac had gone through. I had a hard time figuring Zac out. I liked that he was a player and free with his affections, but I wasn’t always sure how to take him. He did intrigue me, so kudos on that.

That said, the book still features a white hot storyline and while the characters are flawed, that’s what endeared them to me. If you’re looking for something with a little bite and a lot of heat, then this might be the book for you.

I love the books of Tammy Kaehler because she knows her racing. The story flows well and it felt like I was right there in the car with her. The racing descriptions were rich and detailed. It truly felt like I rode with her in those races.

Now the writing flows well, like I said. I turned the pages wanting to know what would happen next. There’s so much going on for Kate and it’s hard to keep it all straight. There isn’t much room for extra in this book. While that’s good, it can be a little frustrating keeping what’s going on straight, but don’t let that keep you from picking up this book. I don’t want to give away the plot because it is great, so I recommend picking it up.

Keeping up with Kate, the investigation and all of her new situations is fun. That’s what summed up the book for me. It’s fun. If you’re in the mood for a good mystery, then this might be the book for you.

That said, there were a few things about the book that…made it a little hard to stay interested. Carrick and his partner both have C names. He’s referred to as C often. While that may not pull most out of the book, it tripped me up a few times. Also a few lines in the book were a tad hard to follow. With a little more editing, this book could be great. I would’ve liked to have seen the guys explore each other a little more, especially with the ending, but I understand some books do have a word count limitation. I do hope the author gives these characters a chance to do more exploring. I’ll definitely read it.

If you want something hot and sweet as a good introduction to MM Romance, then this might be the book for you.

Big heart, warm smile and those muscles… oh and he’s got a ranch. He’s definitely swoon-worthy. He’s also a good match for Skye. She’s feisty, funny and I’m glad I got to read about her. She’s a strong character. Very good.

Now I won’t go into too much detail, but the baddie is really bad. The action Skye and Jax deal with is definitely adrenaline-pumping. Then there’s the hot scenes and I’m not talking about the fires. Jax and Skye will certainly steam your e-reader screen.

If you want a story that’s got heat, heart and action, then this might be the book for you. Recommended.

The sex was hot and the tension thick. I’m glad I read this book and can’t wait to get back to Darian and Tony’s world. I would really love to see what’s in the future for these two.
