I liked how the conflict revolved around a rash decision, a slight lack of trust, and the fear that harsh words could tear them apart. The reader, male or female can relate to what these men are going through. The misunderstanding and how it played out had tinges of humor and sweet romance that made the story memorable. You knew these two men really cared about each other, no matter how different they were.

Don’t let the Bible quotes at the beginning of each chapter throw you. They are well researched and fitting to the storyline and chapter they precede. A little way into the book, another aspect of the book was introduced. Olivia has a stalker who is killing ladies and leaving her black roses. The introduction of this conflict was a bit confusing and unexpected, but it did amp up the suspense. I was a bit disappointed that this conflict was solved just as suddenly as it was introduced. I can also say the same about the relationship between Morgan and Olivia. It seems that they were both coming up against a wall every time one of them tried to get the attention of the other. It was nearly frustrating at times. Then, all of a sudden, they professed their love for one another, the suspense was resolved and conflict taken care of, all near the end of the book and within a few pages of the other.

Overall, and except for my few concerns noted above, Decadent Deceptions was a good read. Every time that I felt like things were kind of dropping off a bit or going off topic, I was pulled right back into the story. I did enjoy the antics of Olivia and Morgan and was relieved when they finally found their way to each other.
