“Behave, Mr. MacTaggart.”

One steamy night in Paris, I had a quick and dirty fling with a Scotsman who wouldn’t tell me his name. Ten months later, my boss sends me to Scotland to broker a business deal with tech mogul Evan MacTaggart. There’s just one problem. The seductive billionaire is the man from Paris, and I still can’t resist him.

The moment Keely O’Shea walked into my office I knew I could never let her go this time. For ten months, I’ve dreamed about the beautiful, sensual woman who drove me out of my mind. Now, she’s sitting here in my office dressed like a sexy librarian and telling me to behave. How can I? The way she looks, the way she moves, and the memory of Paris are all driving me mad again. She thinks she’s too old for me. I say eleven years means nothing. I need to possess her, but do I have the right? My past mistakes are knocking on my door.

Evan tempts me to take risks and unleash my inner wild child, but I’ve had too many heartaches in the past. The secretive Highlander who’s too young for me might be the only man who can get under my skin and convince me to take a chance on love again.

“I can live with that. But if you agree to go sightseeing with me, I’ll let you have your underwear.”

What would you do when one of your one night stands becomes the one that got away?

Keely and Evan are different. Keely has become distrustful of men because of strings of bad relationships. Their passion is definitely there, even after six months. From Paris to the office boardroom, their meetings heat up and Evan is not willing to take a chance and lose her again. Keely and Evan have an over the top chemistry and results in some intense sex scenes. There is a bit of tying up that some readers may not like but it’s well written.

The romantic plot is easy reading but there is another minor plot that comes up which has bits of mystery and suspense. What kept me going was Keely and Evan. Keely is an independent no nonsense “it’s my way or no way” kind of gal. She’s certainly not submissive. Evan is a businessman, a Tech Geek, a Scotsman and a billionaire. He’s strong and very persistent. There is a conflict about an age difference between both of them and Keely is unwilling to take a chance due to that. Fortunately, Evan is determined to work through her resistance.

I loved reading Keely and Evan’s conversations more than anything in this. Insatiable in a Kilt is an all-rounder – a very well written and wonderfully descriptive romance.

“I clamped my teeth over my lips in an attempt to keep from laughing. He’d take it as an insult, but really, I found his discombobulation to be the cutest thing ever.”

The book is well-written, and though the characters from the first two books do appear, it was not confusing. It made the book more fun to read.

This story could be read as a stand-alone or as a series. I do not have any unresolved questions or confusions. That said, I’m curious to read the first two books and find out more. The author did a wonderful job on giving the reader a nudge to check out the rest of the series.

I loved the characters, mainly because of how different they were. Rory wants rules and craves control which translates into OCD and whatnot. While Emery is the complete opposite of him, it was different to see that regardless of it how they kept falling more and more in love with each other.

There were bits of humor that just made it so easy to read. The sex was hot and passionate. The highlight had to be the humor, the story and how their conversations worked.

I loved how the story evolved and kept me glued to it until the end.

Torn apart by their haunted pasts, Grace Powell and her fiancé David Ransom are struggling to reclaim their passionate bond and build a normal life — one without danger and paranormal powers. But David can’t renounce his obsession with hunting down Karl Tesler, who abducts and tortures psychics. David endured Tesler’s tactics himself, but despite what Grace believes, he’s not out for revenge.

As events drive Grace and David toward a battle of epic proportions, they must risk everything — their relationship, their lives, and even their souls — to defeat an enemy who wields unspeakable psychic power.

Intuition was an interesting and unique take on characters with psychic powers. I enjoyed learning about both Grace and David, however I admit to being a little lost for awhile as I tried to piece together what had happened in book one. While I was able to (mostly) understand everything eventually, I suspect starting at the beginning would have been a better idea. Therefore, I really recommend doing so for new readers. I’ll likely go back and read the first book myself, because I really enjoyed this author’s writing style and voice.

The story was well written with plenty of great description that clearly illustrated the characters and settings throughout. I could easily picture the people (though, actually, there wasn’t a lot of description of the two protagonists) and the places, and even the things they saw psychically. Grace’s visions and astral “visits” were incredibly vivid. I also really loved Sean…he was such a perfectly created young man, full of life and angst and goofiness. She nailed his behavior for his age.

I didn’t care for the “big secret” trope used to keep the two protagonists apart. I’m not really a fan of that, typically, and in this case, they’d apparently already been through a lot in book one and were engaged. If you’re going to marry someone, shouldn’t you be able to trust them completely? If not, then do you really love them enough to spend your entire life with them? That was one of the bigger conflicts in this story, and just served to annoy me, otherwise I likely would have rated it higher.

Still, as mentioned, Ms. Durand is a solid author. I’ve not read her work before, but I’ll be seeking out more. She’s skilled and her book was clean and well composed. Aside from my niggle, above, I really enjoyed the story and hope there will be a Psychic Crossroads, Book Three. Do yourself a favor if you enjoy this genre: start with book one and enjoy!
