Eliana’s never asked for help in her life and doesn’t want to start now, but when she’s attacked by an incubus and saved by Kon, a gifted healer too beautiful to be real, she’s too hurting and hungry to refuse. Kon offers to help her in her search to find her Lakota father’s family, and Eliana reluctantly agrees to let him and his half-incubus partner, Dane, drive her north.

The trip gets interesting when Eliana witnesses Dane spanking a willing, naked Kon. Wounded physically and emotionally, Eliana had given up on the idea of ever enjoying sex, but seeing the two of them–and having erotic dreams–makes her yearn to give Kon the pain he craves. Dane agrees to share his lover and teach her the art of domination–but then she finds out Kon has been keeping a devastating secret, one that will put their lives at risk.

Hurt and furious, Eliana leaves and is determined to forget Kon and Dane completely. Though when Dane brings word that Kon is deathly ill and asking for her, Eliana must find the courage to do what she’s never done before–fall in love. Twice.

From the very moment we meet Eliana, her strength and stubbornness are very evident in every move she makes. When she’s attacked by an incubus she goes down swinging and when she’s saved by Kon, a man with the face of an angel, she doesn’t immediately fall into his arms. She warily goes with him out of pain and hunger but she doesn’t expect him to want to help her with any real sincerity. Kon offers to drive her to South Dakota to help find her family and Kon’s half incubus lover Dane joins them on the trip. While Kon and Dane are an item neither are opposed to adding a female into the mix.

Kon is a healer and a gorgeous man, yet he has this well of insecurity from a bad childhood that allows him to relate to Eliana and her issues even while she pushes him away. Dane is half incubus and a Dom; not everyone trusts the half demons but Kon trusts Dane with his life and body.

I really enjoyed this story. Some of the back story and language used was confusing at times, but when I realized that it allowed me to understand Eliana and her position better, it made perfect sense. There were some very hot sex scenes, but there was also a lot of time where Eliana is learning to trust and allow herself to let go. I was very upset when Eliana and Kon had a falling out, and when they finally come back together I rejoiced. It’s an interesting relationship, it’s Kon and Dane, Kon and Eliana and the Eliana and Dane. They all love and relate to each other differently and yet love each other as a trio as well. Eliana lived a hard life so if reading about a character’s past abuse is a problem, I’d skip this one.

I recommend this book for fans of unique paranormal worlds with some serious sexiness thrown in.
