Ms. Dane presents a romantic and passionate love-at-first-sight scenario that is sure to please and perhaps drag a smile or two out of the reader. Cade falling in love was fun reading.

The lucky lady is Grace. She comes with a load of baggage – her being related to the ultimate villain notwithstanding. She heralds from a dysfunctional family and it’s a miracle she’s as well adjusted as she is. Grace has spunk, attitude and courage. She made choices in her life that held her in good stead and eventually ends up being vital in the life and death struggle between Cade and her brother. Grace’s emotional roller coaster involves having to deal with betrayal from a surprising source and it enriched her character making it very easy to like her, root for her and want to fight by her side.

Ms. Dane has a knack for dialogue. My second most favorite scenes were the dynamite conversations and by-play between Grace and Nina, the wife of Cade’s brother, Lex. If you’ve read any of the previous books you’ll remember Nina as being sassy and opinionated. A third favorite element of Ms. Dane’s writing is the talent of bringing a bunch of other characters from the previous books forward to populate and enrich the current story. Their personalities don’t remain static but continue to grow and evolve, which helps Standoff. I’ve read about Cade all through the story arc but this time the story is about him. His interactions with the other members bring depth, connection and continuity. I totally enjoy being in the world Ms. Dane has created.

I don’t want to make this review too long, but I must mention the villain. Sometimes the ending of a long running series lets me down because the bad guy gets offed too soon and you feel robbed of justice. Call me blood thirsty but the battle length was just right.

If a reader is eagle-eyed, they’ll catch a few editing misses in the beginning but the rest is pure gold.

All in all, Standoff tied up not only the HEA between Cade and Grace but a lot of other different perspectives as well. It was sort of like playing with a deck of cards; you never know what you’re going to get once the cards are shuffled but are thrilled when the results are satisfying. Ms. Dane has a winning hand with Standoff. Since I read this story in one sitting I have to say it was worth every moment of lost sleep.

Queen of Shadows is a very simple storyline that is a very complex story. When I started to read it, I thought it was just about a queen picking out her husband who would be king. Little did I realize all the twists and turns that would happen in the course of this story. Be forewarned that unless you are careful, you can believe that Audryn was only thirteen when she became sexually active in public but she was thirteen starturns which is twenty in our years. Also, this book contains an extreme amount of very hot sexual activity. All is in keeping with the storyline and I enjoyed it immensely.

Audryn is the Queen of Shadow, ruler of Shadowlands. She is nearing her seventeenth starturn, which is equivalent to our twenty-six years old and must chose a husband to have children with. Audryn was not born to rule but was thrust into the position when the rest of her family died just after her thirteenth starturn. With the planet divided into three basic areas, Shadowlands being the prime area, she had the choice of the nobility in each land from which to pick a king. I enjoyed how Audryn found ways to have numerous sexual encounters with multiple partners without breaking the rules regarding procreation in regards to her position as queen. Though not born to be queen, I found Audryn to be very sharp in the ways of not only government but also of men and not easily swayed. I loved how she decided on a tour of the countries to make up her mind and also do a little spying.

There were three main male leads in the story. Frayn, Audryn’s cousin who took her virginity on Exhibition Day is the contender for the throne from Shadowlands. Prince-Scientist Kaldir is a Lightsider, of the Desert Dwellers, and Prince Storne is a Dark Dweller and Lord of Darkness. Each wants to be king and it was fun watching how they tried to manipulate Audryn and each other in order to achieve their ends. Without revealing who is a favorite, I can say that one is a supposed known person, one is a physically beautiful looking male who seems familiar, and one is a ruggedly handsome man who seems rough around the edges. Watching how they tried to get Audryn to pick them buy giving her gifts, each one trying to top the other, and sexual favors was so funny.

While touring the respective countries, many secrets are revealed. Audryn, with the help of her servant Maia, ferrets out all the plots and soon realizes who she will choose.

The author did a wonderful job of making this a believable relationship that one can easily understand despite the unconventionality of the situation. She even used secondary characters to point out the problems and ask questions that one might have about the logic behind a threesome, but Tyler, Thomas, and Nevvie answered those questions and demonstrated a loving and caring relationship with one another.

This was a story that I enjoyed a great deal as the author brought these characters to life with their emotional and passionate love story. The story just seemed to flow and I was sad to see it end.

This one was a keeper for me and I would definitely recommend it. I look forward to reading more by this talented author!

Once again, Elizabeth Amber has produced an amazing read. I was once again pulled into the historical, paranormal world that Ms. Amber has created. Dominic and Emma were two very engaging characters that were so obviously meant for each other, that I had a very hard time putting this book down once it was started.

Dominic was never meant to be anything but a weapon for his people. He has lived his entire life knowing what his duty was, and never shirking that duty. Not a man known for his gentleness, he is still drawn to the quiet, bookish Emma. While I didn’t really adore his motivations, as they are less than noble if you look at it from an outside point of view, I did however understand them. As Ms. Amber excels at giving deeper motivations to her characters, the hero in Dominic isn’t really all that apparent when we first meet him. When the honorable, and lovable man emerged I was more than ready to see him find his happy ending with Emma… which he did.

Emma was a sweetheart that I met in the previous books. Younger sister to Jane, I already knew her as a quiet, very smart young woman with an affinity for animals and the everlasting devotion of the people in her life. While her circumstances aren’t quite what I expected, it was great to see such a well-loved character again. I felt as though I was meeting up with an old friend and I was excited to see how her happy ending would come about. I loved this bonus tale of Vincent, Landon and Cara’s. A completely unexpected story that nevertheless was just as emotionally captivating as all the other much longer stories that came before it. I was pleased to see that Ms. Amber was still able to bring the same quality of storytelling to a shorter story that she does to a much longer one. A definitely welcome bonus to get when I thought the tale was done.

Since I wasn’t expecting to get another glimpse of the people in the Satyr world, it was a great treat to find out that there was this book… as well as future books in the works. Elizabeth Amber’s writing just gets better and better, and I look forward to seeing how her writing and her world evolves with time. Her excellent skill at blending the historical side with the fantasy side of her books takes true talent, and I gladly look forward to more from her. Don’t let us forget that this is an Erotic Romance of the highest quality. While there aren’t the more controversial topics of the previous books, at least in my opinion, make no mistake that the incredible sensuality she brings to table is definitely here in this story as well. The heat she brings to her books with each sensual scene is again evident in Dominic, and made me more than hot under the collar on more than one occasion.

In my opinion, this book was flawless. I never once questioned the reasons behind the plot, and couldn’t even bring myself to wonder as the story pulled me along for the ride from start to finish. Also, the short story at the end of the book just tickled me PINK! A true artist with vivid imagery, Elizabeth Amber is quickly becoming one of my favorite Erotic Romance authors. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, and eagerly look forward to more offerings in any genre from Ms. Amber.

This was a brief, but interesting story that seemed to have a touch of magic as Virginia gets to experience some sizzling encounters with some mysterious men. Christopher K. Ringle seems to know all her favorites and secret desires as the two travel together, which I found intriguing. I felt that overall the story was very seductive and steamy with scenes that titillate the reader.

Also, I don’t know if it was the author’s intention, but the story reads more like a fantasy or dream from Virginia’s imagination. I did find some aspects of the plot, such as Virginia’s quick acceptance of the situation and the sex, a bit hard to believe, but I had to keep in mind that this is erotic fiction. And the end of the story is interesting, but it did leave me a bit disappointed as I was left with quite a few questions that went unanswered.

But despite this, overall, Oh Yes, Virginia was a nice, quick read, but be sure you have a fan or cold drink handy while reading, as this one is scorching.
