This story picks up precisely where the first story left off, only this time the focus is upon one of the outcast members of the pack instead of the new queen. She is, of course, integral to the story but I found this to be more about an outcast, a loner who has never been truly accepted by the pack and his path to redemption.
Sierra Dafoe does a good job of developing Kar into a character you feel for and wondering when things will turn to his favor.
