Check in for some Southern hospitality in Plantation Shudders, the Cajun Country series debut from Ellen Byron.

It’s the end of the summer and Prodigal Daughter Maggie Crozat has returned home to her family’s plantation-turned-bed-and-breakfast in Louisiana. The Crozats have an inn full of guests for the local food festival–elderly honeymooners, the Cajun Cuties, a mysterious stranger from Texas, a couple of hipster lovebirds, and a trio of Georgia frat boys. But when the elderly couple keels over dead within minutes of each other–one from very unnatural causes– Maggie and the others suddenly become suspects in a murder.

With the help of Bo Durand, the town’s handsome new detective, Maggie must investigate to clear her name while holding the family business together at the same time. And the deeper she digs, the more she wonders: are all of the guests really there for a vacation or do they have ulterior motives? Decades-old secrets and stunning revelations abound in Ellen Byron’s charming cozy debut, Plantation Shudders.

Family loyalty and fortitude are put to the test when the Crozat family is framed for murder. Ms. Byron presents readers with a unique cast of characters whose quirks and characteristics are endearing and enchanting. That lightness is in stark contrast to the darkness of the crime which haunts them and the determined heroine, Maggie, has the gumption and will to fight for her family’s home, reputation and freedom. It sounds heavy and mysterious but in fact Plantation Shudders is kept from being a dark read by virtue of Maggie’s eccentric grandmother, a love interest named Bo, and all the different personalities that are residing at Maggie’s family’s bed and breakfast. I was vastly entertained.

First, the mystery works. I didn’t figure out the “whodunit” until the author wanted me to. I liked the fact that so many of the guests had secrets that Maggie ferreted out, but I never clued in as to which one was going to be the ‘tell’. I enjoyed all hoops the heroine had to jump through in order to investigate on her own. Another aspect of her sleuthing is her eventual trust in Bo. I was thrilled when he not only didn’t stop her from doing her own investigating, nor did he try to dissuade her, but instead treated her as a valuable informal partner. I enjoyed watching that trust grow.

The strongest element in the novel is Maggie and her family’s relationship. The author is able to bring a reader into the Crozat family home where they’re treated to some very down to earth daily activities. They may seem normal and routine but that’s part of the book’s charm. It’s that welcoming atmosphere that brings the guests to the B & B, and gets a reader to care about the Crozat family and creates a drive to continue reading until the amazing conclusion when all is revealed. I think the moving log is a great scene.

One thing I noticed was the importance of food and local dishes to the atmosphere of the book. Imagine my delight when I found recipes after the epilogue. There is one that I am surely going to try. It sounds delicious!!

My favorite parts of the story are whenever Maggie and Xander are together. I appreciated how the author handled that subject and I thought their final scenes together to be the sweetest things ever. It highlighted more than anything else in the story, just how wonderful a person Maggie really is. It’s that kind of insight that helped her solve the mystery, and it will surely be an asset when a future relationship develops with Bo. At least, I hope that’s what will happen. It sure was a nice touch in Plantation Shudders.

Cozy mystery fans need to give Plantation Shudders a try. It’s a fascinating read and I enjoyed watching Maggie try to solve the crimes. She’s a regular lady with a strong sense of family and history. Her character has a gentle strength which appealed to me. I also got a kick out of the wrap up epilogue which documented how the aftermath of the solving of the mystery affected the town and some of its residents. It was totally grin worthy.

Plantation Shudders is a great read and it gets a hearty recommend from me. Ms. Byron has a winner.

Their love is ancient history if they can’t catch the thief out to kill them.

Theodora Speer loves her job at the Columbian Exposition Museum designing murals, but a sense of movement—in her art and in her life—eludes her. She meets the museum’s enigmatic donor Seth Adler while working on a new exhibit: a strange cache of shabtis, or clay funerary figurines, accompanying a prize mummy, and something sparks.

Seth Adler’s interest in the Egyptian artifacts and in Theo goes deeper than patronage, but he can’t tell her that. A series of robberies has everyone on edge and when the Columbian is hit, Theo and Seth are implicated. Someone thinks there was more to the ancient Egyptian funeral rites than meets the eye and wants the mummy and his grave goods.

Seth and Theo are forced on the run, and it may be too much movement for strict realist Theo to keep up with. But the man—and the mummy—are more than she realized. And if she can’t reconcile the past and the present, she and Seth may have no future.

Rick O’ Connell watch out. There’s a sexy new mummy in town.

Theodora Speer usually spends her days covered in paint bringing the past back to life for her employer, the Columbian Exposition Museum (I’m guessing inspired by the real life Field Museum in Chicago). Art, magic and romance mix together in a delightful palette when Theo comes face to face with a four thousand year old immortal named Seth Adler. He is as determined to hold onto his secrets as Theo is to reveal them.

What I loved about the God Collector was author, Catherine Butzen’s, creative new take on a very old legend.

The beginning had some pacing issues. I spent way too much time following Theo throughout her work week behind the scenes of a major museum. And although I actually have painted myself for many years the constant description of everything in painterly terms grew tiresome after a while. Describing blood as Cadmium Red was too much even for me. But once the mummy was predictably stolen, things got interesting. The author did do a great job describing Chicago (a city still on my bucket list) and she also did a wonderful job of bringing a slice of ancient Egypt to life.

What really made me glad I read this book was the fact that the author had a nontraditional romantic hero. Seth was a great character. I would have enjoyed a little more time spent in his head than following Theo around in her studio mixing paint. Regardless of the slow intro the most important thing that attracted me to this character was that he wasn’t a vampire, sheik or widowed rancher in Montana. Sorry Harlequin, but I’m so bored by those bland romantic stereotypes, I could scream. There is a part in the book where Seth tells Theo he wants to show her his burial site and the Egypt he loved so dearly when she realistically responds it’s too dangerous because of political instability. He gets angry and says, “To hell with politics. I have more of a right to see Kemet again than anyone else.” That line really defined him for me as a character more than any other in the book. He is a man removed from humanity by his circumstances, yet is terribly afraid to lose his connections to his past.

If you are like me and bored beyond belief with ranchers, navy seals and CEOs all cut from the same literary cloth, you’ll love The God Collector, a truly unique read.

Black, educated, and possessing all the right stats, Sahara and Noah Kyle move to North Carolina ready to break into the area’s black bourgeoisie social circle. This is a world governed by black socialites and movers and shakers, who hold membership in the Sphinx, Darlings, The Shield, Belles & Beaus, and the black fraternities and sororities. Being in the right circle could position the Kyles for even greater affluence, but being shut out could be the death knell for more than just their social life.

So let’s viagra generika in österreich clear up a couple of things about this.
Noah appears to quickly catch his stride, but Sahara struggles navigating this world of pearls, poise, and protocol. The sky’s the limit, but will secrets, lies, and double crossings keep them on the outside of this high power network looking in? Or, when it comes to entering the world of the black elite, do they have what it takes to NAIL IT?

Nail It tells a story of a household very well set on being part of the social elite. Being well educated, having a specific job status, living in a high class neighborhood are only some of the factors that are required to being included in one of these elite social groups. To Noah and Sahara Kyle being included in these specific groups were of high priority.

The book was entertaining but I felt something was missing. It was an okay read but I wanted something more to happen. The book only showed a glimpse of the characters personal and family life. I would have liked to know why being in the social circle was so important to Noah and Sahara. The main focus was on Sahara being invited to the Sphinx Masquerade Ball and all the hoops she had to jump through to make that happen. Sororities do a great deal to raise money for many causes, but the focus on this book was more along the lines of a personal goal. The book portrayed that this status was of high important, so much so that Noah refused his wife relations because one group she associated with didn’t reflect the image that he wanted to be associated with. But when she joined the right group and associated with a group fitting to his liking he was happy. Sahara went to college and was educated but seems her husband didn’t want her to utilize her education. Makes me wonder what was the purpose of obtaining an education if it was only to look good on social applications and to boost about during social gatherings

The writing style is impressive and easy to follow. The author gave a subtly view of what goes on behind social groups and the service these groups provide to communities. The culture of the groups are shown to reflect loyalty and dedication, this is encouraging. Sahara is a woman that had her mind set on obtaining a status and she was set on making that happen. The sisterhood between Sahara and her neighbor Meranda was refreshing that they were strangers but Meranda was willing to help Sahara climb the social ladder. The book showed relationship between women how they can be true and how sadly some women can have alternative motives. The book was predictable but believable as well.

Though this read won’t go down as a favorite of mine it was still informative and an enlighten read.

Can Lucie learn to love a stranger?

Lucie’s dilemma is distressing. One moment she’s a relatively carefree young woman enjoying the events of the season, and the next she’s seriously contemplating marriage to a man she’s only met a few times. I think that Lucie handled the abrupt change of her circumstances very well. She certainly is entitled to a long, hard cry, but she is determined to do what she can for her family. Fortunately, Lucie’s situation isn’t quite as dire as it seems. Nick, her new husband, is well known to her parents, and he and Lucie quickly build a wonderful rapport. As I watched them get to know each other, it was fun to watch the chemistry between them slowly build. When Lucie and Nick are married, his only request is that she be completely honest with him always. Can Lucie open her heart to Nick, or will she doom them to a polite marriage of convenience?

While I thought In Name Only was fun and pleasant, I must admit that I found the characters in this tale to be too perfect. None of the major characters had any serious flaws. The one character that did have some serious personal issues was kept behind the scenes for most of the story. I think that many of the characters in this story had great potential, but without some flaws, they didn’t quite come to life in my mind.

Overall, I liked In Name Only. Lucie is likable and her quiet strength is admirable. Her happy ending is well deserved. I recommend In Name Only to anyone looking for a sweet, historical romance

In a rare moment of fragility, Lauren winds up in Gabe’s arms. One night together can’t break their self-imposed rules, right? But when a woman from Gabe’s past is murdered, the reasons he should have stayed away become painfully clear, threatening innocent lives he may not be able to save—especially Lauren’s.

Warning: Contains a blind therapist who doesn’t consider herself impaired; a meddling, erotic-novel-writing best friend; a hot ex-Marine with a shady past; and a loyal guide dog that howls “I love you” and is probably the sanest one of the bunch.

Lauren works from home as a counselor and is very good at her job, but her new next door neighbor is doing renovations and making it difficult for her to work over the phone. Lauren might be effectively blind – she can see colours, shadows and shapes but nothing too clearly – but she’s got enough sight to know Gabe is handsome as sin. After a flustered conversation asking him to keep the noise level down she somehow found herself agreeing to go out to dinner with him. Lauren was panicked, but didn’t want to turn down the opportunity once it had been thrust at her. Despite feeling in over her head, maybe it was time for her to start trusting men again….

This was a really heart warming story with a solid plot and interesting characters. I connected almost immediately with both Lauren and Gabe and had a strong interest in seeing them come together. Lauren could be too independent at times, but having had to come to terms with her life after losing much of her sight and rely mostly on herself it’s not a wonder she is how she is. A cheating ex husband also complicated her ability to trust and made me feel sympathetic and proud of her self accomplishments. I was also thrilled by how observant Gabe was. He caught onto all sorts of little things that usually go completely unnoticed or uncommented upon – with just a “he was really observant” tag. Things like he counted how many paces Lauren took to get to her front gate, then down to the corner of the street, and – before he knew she was blind – he realized that her steps were deliberate, carefully counted each and every time. That sort of detail really made me glow for Gabe and I was smitten even before he and Lauren went on their dinner date.

It was refreshing to also have whole chapters of being introduced to the characters, their personal situations and all these sorts of details. I loved the pace the story took. A slow burn – plenty of time to get to know the characters – and for them to come to fully appreciate each other. In that respect I found this to be a lovely example of a more traditional romance story, with time to relish each character and no need to rush. Having said this, the author didn’t dawdle when it came to the romance. I personally was thrilled that Gabe caught on to the half-lie Lauren told when they were introduced (that her “boyfriend” Jack was in fact her dog) and the issue of whether Gabe was chasing Lauren while she was “with another man” was mostly (for me at least) a moot point. But even so Gabe was tender with her, he didn’t rush Lauren but neither did he slink away and sulk. I thought much of these two interesting characters were balanced between reality and romance-book material.

I found the conflict part of the plot a little clichéd, but even so this was a minor issue when the characters were so fresh and interesting, and their romance really consumed center stage and kept my interest the whole book through. I loved the intimacy – smoking hot but not overly graphic or envelope pushing. Gabe and Lauren’s chemistry was just another reason I loved both their characters so much.

Overall I found this an amazing story full of excellent characterizations and a good, solid pace. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will happily look for more books by this author. Recommended.

There’s a scourge on the streets of Los Angeles. A serial killer is stalking, capturing, torturing, and killing young teenage boys. FBI Profilers Special Agent Steve Hoffman and Special Agent John Swenson are working with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective Jim O’Brian to catch this elusive killer. However, with each turn the investigation takes into the murders, the more puzzling they become. The deeper the investigation goes, the darker the soul of its source. It’s a race against not only time; it is also a race against The Iron Eagle, who they all know is working to unravel the mystery and capture the killer. Who will solve the crimes and end the terror? Only time will tell.

I was breathlessly horrified while reading this gripping tale of serial killers being hunted down and brought to justice. The F.B.I. and the Sheriff’s detective are scrambling to find and stop these monsters but they just don’t have the abilities that a certain Iron Eagle has. A reader gets to see more in depth of the man and the vigilante and find that he’s a very complicated human indeed.

It took a little while for the story to gel, at least it did for me. Even after saying that, the chapters flew by until I got to the chapter where the author truly laid the trap of intrigue, and I was completely hooked. Understand something; every single clue and killer that is revealed in the beginning leads to the big kahuna. It’s like tributaries that lead to a waterfall, seemingly innocuous as they merge into the big water system that goes over a huge cliff that shocks and awes a viewer. That is what is in store for a reader when they delve into Evil and the Details.

Mr. Teel spends some time on character growth with each individual protagonist. I felt bad for Steve on his loss, I was entertained by the very unique relationship between Jim and his wife, and I was intrigued with how Sara and John’s relationship is developing, especially with how the first book ended. I advise readers to read Rise of the Iron Eagle first in order to understand how Sara could do the things she did in this book because its born from what happened to her in the previous.

Once again, the author takes a reader into the minds of killers. I was dragged through the mire of some very deviant murders and it bothers me that it’s always the young and vulnerable that seem to attract the worst of the worst. That is, until one of the bad guys makes a fatal mistake with one of his victims; that is the turning point. People around me could hear me gasping and I’m sure my face was making some YouTube worthy expressions because parts in the book got positively gruesome. It needs to be in order for the Iron Eagle to get involved and he gets involved in a huge way. The scenes with Marker made me cringe. I had to take a small break after that, but I couldn’t stay away. Where were the clues leading? And, how in the world does a bakery and baking mixes fit in? Readers are going to get a shocker from the solving of that mystery. Brace yourselves.

The author switched gears towards the end of the book and sort of narrated things a bit. True, I was glad to hear the facts without all the descriptions that otherwise might have been needed to get it all told thereby bogging down the pace of the conclusion. But then, Mr. Teel went back into action mode and produced a prologue for the next book. Obviously, the tables are about to be turned on the Iron Eagle if that scene was anything to judge by, but again, the author seems to relish the idea of making his readers squirm. The last few paragraphs were horrific. Definitely I’ll be rooting for the Iron Eagle to clean up this mess too.

One thing that stood out for me was Sara’s question to John. I was actually wondering about that myself. The author handled that in a creepy yet hard-hitting and honest manner. Seeing John transition, and the words the author used to describe it, and the dialogue that occurred during those moments, was masterful and extremely well done. It sent shivers up my spine because I could easily envision it. That truly made an impact on me.

Evil and the Details isn’t an easy read, but it’s a must read. If a reader has read the first book, then they won’t be disappointed with this one. John is even more interesting, convoluted and intriguing than he was in the first story. In this novel, a reader sees a more human side and validation that he never truly loses his humanity even when he’s involved in inhuman actions. He’s a robot in the field but his humanity doesn’t have a complete off switch and for that I was very grateful. Now Sara on the other hand, she is a character I need to watch. I question what is happening to her psychologically. I think those that read this book might see what I saw and will understand why I am wondering about her. I’m hoping I’m wrong because I think the Iron Eagle needs her. I need her. I like her in the story with him.

For fans of this genre, Evil and the Details is a must read. The mystery and suspense make it hard to put down, and the only reason to stop is to catch your breath. This is a hard hitting mystery for adults who like their stories with a sharp edge. Beware, this one cuts.

Thirty and single? Well, getcha butt to the Gathering!

Scarlet – As if hitting thirty wasn’t enough, unmated Scarlet Wickham is summoned to this year’s Gathering. As a woman Marked to be the mate of an Alpha pair, she’s not going to find happiness anywhere other than in the arms of two Alpha werewolves. So, off she goes with her sisters in tow. ‘Cause yeah, she’s one of the plump Wickham triplets, and they’re all being carted off to werewolf speed dating.

Gabriella – Ugh. Gabriella Wickham thought turning thirty was bad enough, but now she’s been invited (ordered) to attend this year’s Gathering (werewolf speed dating). Having a Mark on her arm means that she’s one of the few human women destined to mate with not one, but two Alpha werewolves. Thank goodness werewolves don’t come in “ugly.” After her sister Scarlet mates the Ruling Alphas, things really start to get interesting. Gabby runs into not one, but two hotter than hot werewolves who make her tingle in all the right places. Yum. Of course, “yum” comes with baggage of both the mental and female kind. Lovely. Luckily it’s nothing a few punches and a good talking to can’t cure. Maybe…-ish.

Whitney – Whitney Wickham is at the darned annual werewolf Gathering all right. Only there’s one problem: she doesn’t belong there. Her sisters carry the Mark indicating they’ll mate an Alpha Pair of wolves, while Whitney does not have that lovely, swirling scar. She’s been hauled half way around the world to be stared at, and not-so-covertly sniffed, for no reason. Unfortunately the gorgeous, drool worthy, magic-mojo-wielding Wardens don’t know why she’s been summoned to the Gathering any more than she does. Which sucks. But at least they’re hot.

Three sisters, three dynamic personalities with their own special quirks are summoned to appear at a mating event, but one doesn’t belong there with the other two, or does she? Each story tells the tale of how each lady finds her mates and ends with an epilogue that segues into the next until the final story. These were incredibly fast reads that are highly entertaining and enjoyable.

It’s the paranormal aspect that allows the main characters to go from the initial meeting to ‘hot-to-trot’ within minutes of being in each other’s proximity. I like that the author included a valid reasoning and a tradition that all characters on stage have been tutored and trained in. What I liked is how the author interjected a unique conflict and drama in each one to give the plots teeth and motivation. They all worked for me but especially the last one.

Scarlet’s story sets up the world building and the crux of the story arc. Gabriella’s turn was fascinating because for all her humanness, she turns the tables on her combatant and proves she’s not as weak and discombobulated as she sometimes came across. It was a wonderful surprise. It’s amazing what love will motivate a person to do. Finally, Whitney’s exciting adventure wraps up the trilogy in a grand style because it exposes a deeply hidden lie and blows the lid off of an evil conspiracy. Ms. Kyle saved the best for last.

All the male heroes are hunky, totally alpha and aim to please their women. The author saved all the sexy fun hijinks for later in each novella once the heroine and her heroes have jumped the dramatic hurdles they were confronted with. Sex is the goal but love is the prize.

I enjoyed the dialogue, the settings and the discourse between all the characters in each book. None of them were copies of the other but were unique and special in their own ways. Erotic romance readers will thrill to all the three-way action but none of it would have worked without the wonderful plots they were couched in. Yes, they are short but Ms. Kyle focused on giving readers the best experience in the quickest amount of time. So, if a reader can only read a story a day, the enjoyment can be spread out. As for me, I couldn’t stop, didn’t want to stop until I read all three, which meant 1 A.M. Ouch.

The Alpha Marked series was a readaholic’s treat. I had a lot of fun meeting Scarlet, Gabriella and Whitney and their mates and commend Ms. Kyle on giving me a memorable reading experience. I do so love a good growly alpha, or two.

This is a wonderful book. Sweet and tender with some harsh scenes, and also mystery as I tried to work out how the characters were involved with each other. This does not become apparent until the end, and then the author ties everything up neatly so the final page left me feeling satisfied with a story well told.

There’s an arsonist loose in the town of Cadillac Falls…one who is targeting members of Luke’s pack for unknown reasons. The three wolf packs in town are at each other’s throats over who is setting the fires. And Gabriela might be next on the pyromaniac’s list…

The Firefighter’s Mate was a good read for me. The story was sexy, suspenseful and entertaining from beginning to end.

Gabriela Acosta left her old life and wolf pack back in Philly, returning to her fond memories in the town of Cadillac Falls. She’d been happy living there, before the family had to run away from something. Her car breaks down right in front of the fire station and a hunky werewolf, Luke Taylor, comes to her rescue. She remembers him as the younger brother of her best friend Nicole, but Luke is all grown up now, and their attraction is immediate and mutual. Luke recognizes that Gabriela is his mate, that she’s down on her luck and that he risks scaring her away. Then the situation gets complicated by a serial arsonist, rival packs and an old mystery surrounding Gabriela’s past.

The characters in this book were vivid, intriguing and life like. Gabriela was cute, funny and stubborn. She was an optimist and a dreamer who got flustered by Luke and that endeared her to me. Of course, Luke was all sexy protective alpha wolf. He made a few mis-steps but later apologized, kissed and made it all better. So it was easy for Luke to win me over. Truthfully, even if I wasn’t already interested, I’d still read the next book just to catch up with these two. As for the world building it was fantastic. This series has more than one shifter pack and promising possibilities thrown into the mix. That setup is another refreshing aspect in itself because I saw so man interesting directions this could go.

This book had a solid plot and a story that snagged my interest easily. There was a mystery which kept me intrigued, and the possibilities for the bad guys were plentiful. The writing and development were excellent. While I enjoyed all of that and the story as a whole was put together nicely right up until the end. I had mixed feelings about the ending that seemed rushed and left some situations unresolved. I recognized that the author was setting up the next book, which I have to read now, and there will most likely be a overlapping ARC to span the series. Now, I love series books so that is fine with me. However, there were some questions that really should’ve been answered in this book. As this is Gabriela and Luke’s story then I definitely was expecting to learn the who, what or reason why her father fled the town all those years ago. So ergo something was missing for me. Despite those misgivings I still got involved in the exciting story and deliciously naughty bits.

I most definitely enjoyed reading this book and look forward to Rick and Nicole in Lycan Heat.

A murderer haunts the city, turning the unwary to stone. Between hunting this evil and corralling new arrivals, Flax struggles to guard both his life and his heart.

Quinn and Valerian have come through the trials of facing an undead lich queen and the perils of falling in love. Now they work to restore AURA to its previous strength and efficiency while navigating their new life with each other. Fortunately, they’re not in this alone.

Kai Hiltas has taken over as the head of the research department at AURA and has become everyone’s favourite workaholic, everyone except his lover Tenzin, who has had enough of his late nights and broken promises. As Kai tries to salvage his relationship, he finds a teacher for Quinn, who also happens to be one of Valerian’s new officers, Flax Wolfheart, a sexy elf with trouble written all over him.

Flax has motives beyond simply teaching Quinn to control his magic. He’s trying to recover from his own losses and failures, but he has a plan. The two newest elvish crossovers, Ash and Sage, are sizzling hot and might even like him. With them as backup as he tracks a deadly stone mage and figures out how to teach Quinn, Flax sees his chance to impress Val and snag a place by his captain’s side. On the hunt for both danger and redemption, Flax’s pursuit leads him ultimately down trails he never expected.

Both recovering from and basking in the glow of the defeat of the lich queen, Val and Quinn are settling into their new life as a couple. But nothing is ever as simple as it seems and a new threat looms on the horizon, threatening to destroy the delicate peace everyone has found. A new event has everyone scrambling to secure the new arrivals before more trouble can form, but will they be fast enough?

Although Quinn and Val both figure prominently in this second novel, the focus is more on Kai and Tenzin, as well as three newcomers elves – Flax, Ash and Sage. Flax is an officer with AURA and has been tasked with teaching Quinn to control his magic by Kai himself. Unable to tell the drow no, Flax finds himself teaching a human to use magic. In the process, his hero-crush on Val becomes nearly unbearable. I spent a lot of time feeling awful for Flax. He comes across as a bit of a jerk at first, but he’s lonely and desperate for companionship. You really just want to give him a big hug and tell him it’ll be okay in the end.

Ash and Sage are a pair of bonded elves who are ripped from their homeland and dropped into Tokyo without warning. Flax is one of the first on scene and is the only one able to get through to the pair, causing them to latch onto him as their only port in this new storm they’re forced to endure. They’re different from the other elves we’ve met to date, and similar at the same time. They make for a nice contrast to the characters we’re already come to know.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed Quinn’s Gambit, this sequel was even better. The mystery surrounding the victims being turned to stone was an interesting one and not something I expected in the end. I did have a slight issue with how quickly the issue with the bad guy was resolved, but at least it was a full resolution. Hopefully in the next installment we get to learn more about all the characters I’ve come to adore, especially the reticent and reluctant Kai Hiltas, who had his own bit of good fortune in this sequel, even if he had to go through heck to get it. With each installment getting better and better, I eagerly look forward to see what we’re getting next.
