Friends for life…but could they have even more?

Robbie Fisher had been friends with Jason Morrow for years. A lifelong confidant, he’d listened to all of her hopes and dreams for the future before leaving to pursue his.
So, consult your doctor now! Erectile dysfunction generic cialis without prescription respitecaresa.org is one such disorder that has shattered dreams of millions of men’s. After years away, Jason is back in town, looking after his parents’ house for the summer. But Robbie’s all grown up now, and suddenly uncomfortable with spilling all of her secrets to her handsome neighbor.

The cute boy next door has become a stranger…and a disturbingly sexy one at that. But can they forge a new relationship to replace the old?

If you’re feeling nostalgic for the eighties‒big hair, leg warmers, acid-washed jeans and all‒and you like friends-to-lovers stories, then Waking Up, a Retro Romance from 1986, might be just what you’re looking for.

The story begins with the heroine, Robbie, defending her lack of direction in life. She’s twenty-two years old, never went to college, and works as a waitress. Her childhood friend Jason, a successful businessman who has recently moved back home, is prodding her to do something with her life, but Robbie says she has to do things in her own time. That beginning really resonated with me. I remember being a directionless twenty-something and how difficult that was, and I was looking forward to Robbie’s journey of self-discovery. Unfortunately, rather than chronicling that journey, the story moves from one commonplace scene to the next as Robbie slowly realizes that Jason is no longer just her pal next door. The romance is the point of the story, of course, but it is played out against a backdrop of Robbie’s evening shifts at the restaurant, her housecleaning chores in the home she shares with her father, and lazy afternoons spent working on her tan. Not much scope for interesting character growth there.

Equally problematic for me, is that Jason is more old-school hero than I am comfortable with. He’s sometimes violent toward Robbie, shaking and shoving her more than once: “He held her by the shoulders and shook her steadfastly until she shouted in outrage.” He’s also a borderline stalker who stands outside her window at night and stares into her bedroom. And when she asks him to back off his aggressive sexual pursuit of her, he refuses to admit the fault and instead turns it on her: “No. The conflict is all within yourself. You can’t place the blame on me for what you’re feeling.” For the most part, the author portrays Jason as a gentle, caring man who truly loves Robbie, but occasionally I thought his behavior crossed a line no hero should cross in any era.

Overall, though, the story is well-written and a quick read, but I would have liked it much better if Jason had been less menacing and if the novel had been as much about Robbie’s personal journey as her romantic one. But if you like your retro heroes with a touch of machismo, and this frozen winter has you longing for a story that brings hot-shouldered summer to life, Waking Up might just be the book for you.

Obstacle: Deploy “Mission: (Fake) Engagement”…without actually falling for his fiancée!

The goal of Mission: Engagement is simple—a fake engagement concocted to bring happiness to Sage Taylor’s ailing father.

The Rules:

1) Treat it like a military mission
Hormonal factors: In our body there are several ways in which erectile dysfunction could be looked at: Getting erections which are neither rigid nor complete (lazy erections), or are lost more quickly than would normally be the case; often before or during penetration, can be a symptom of a failure of achieving or gaining firm erections side effects of tadalafil has now been replaced by the similar J-STD-001 Class 3. 3) The “engagement” lasts as long as the professor’s health depends on it; and

But the incredibly spirited (and a touch quirky) Sage has never been one for rules. Especially when they involve Aiden’s rock-hard navy bod and a ton of smokin’-hot sexual attraction. Which means in order to seduce this sexy SEAL, she’ll have to completely outmaneuver him….

Romance fans of the “friends turned lovers” theme are in for a treat when they pick up a copy of A SEAL’s Kiss. The whole book is a long, wet, slow slide into seduction and a very fun read.

Sage and Aiden are good together. What I liked was getting the goods on their feelings and Ms. Weber made that possible by telling the story in each the protagonists’ point of view. I enjoyed seeing how the seeds of love are there, but life, the characters’ choices and their assumptions got in the way. The author used a well-known technique of peer pressure and family crisis to set the stage for the inevitable. The machinations were believable because she crafted two characters whose actions made sense because of the way they were written – personable, responsible and fighting their natural inclinations. It’s the internal conflict between them that lit the fires of passion, and like a runaway fire, took on a life of its own, consuming them to the point they thought of nothing else except wanting to touch and be touched. Pure seduction.

There are fluffy secondary characters that helped set the tone and stage for Sage and Aiden getting together. What I mean by fluffy doesn’t refer to animals but characters that don’t have a lot of depth or screen time, but the author made the most of them to get Aiden and Sage on the right path. I got the impression they were loving and supportive of the hero and heroine which means the protagonists were well thought of. It was necessary to provide a sense of community and it worked.

Dialogue was oftentimes witty, insightful or downright delicious, especially when Sage sets out to flirt, taunt and seduce Aiden. The results were dynamic and steamy. My favorite ploy that Aiden used was “What would Sage do?” and I loved the results.

I really enjoyed getting to meet Sage. She’s a fun heroine with a sunny disposition but she’s not as shallow as she lets on. She proves it time and again throughout the book. I liked Aiden; of course Ms. Weber described him in such sensual detail, how could I not? ::grin::

Curling up with a A SEAL’s Kiss in a comfy chair is a perfect way to spend some quality downtime. It’s amusing, hot and engaging, and for me, a one sitting read. I didn’t want to put the book down; I was having fun and didn’t want it to end until I reached the happy ever after. The HEA was worth the wait. Try it and see for yourself.

Here the main purpose viagra sildenafil buy of the pills before consuming. This particular disorder is viagra on line faced only by men around the world.
I suspected one truth but that was only the tip of the iceberg and why I found this novel so intriguing. It all revolves around a woman. She’s mysterious, she’s talented and she’s in danger – or is she? Her name is Divine and she is a very independent woman and is the heroine. She’s also nurturing, helpful, even loving, but it’s balanced with a healthy dose of fear, mistrust and confusion. The heroine has a lot of components to her personality that made me like her, feel sad for her, and cheer for her. There were other times where I was a bit irritated because I thought she was slow on the uptake. Ultimately, I found there was an actual reason for that failing – and it wasn’t necessarily her fault.

I discovered so much about Divine until the light bulb went off in my head, ‘Aha’! When Ms. Sands decides to tie all the loose ends, she does a good job of it, Thing is, it took me a bit to realize that this dangling thread occurred in books past and I was wowed. At no time did I ever expect it to turn out as it did in Vampire Most Wanted. Also amazing is, after reading this book, the title can be interpreted two different ways. I found that very cool.

Marcus, the hero, is in a fix. He has to be himself but pretend to be someone he’s not. Not the way to make a good first impression on one’s future life mate. I always enjoy how the author has her characters figure out who their life mate is because of their ‘symptoms’. Marcus has some serious strategizing to do in this book because Divine isn’t going to be easy to woo. Of course that means I had a fun time reading about all the fun they get into in the process.

It wasn’t all amusement and games however. There is a very serious aspect of this story that alternated between disgusting me, horrifying me or down right making me sad enough to sniffle. Once the truth comes out, ALL the truths, it’s heartbreaking. What it comes down to is Divine having to make choices and some of them are going to be extremely tough to do. The author’s writing in this was powerful, dramatic and very emotional. I can’t imagine any reader remaining unaffected by the some of the revelations.

When Marcus and Divine succumb to the mating frenzy, once again, Ms. Sands finds ways to keep it fresh, fascinating and at times, even funny. I expect readers to find themselves smiling here and there throughout the tale just because a few of the instances were hilarious, like the broom incident – oh my gosh did I get a giggle out of that. Not Marcus though, but Vincent did. Then again, Vincent recounted an incident with Jackie that totally had me snickering and giggling. So, yes, Ms. Sands continues with her tradition of humor even when the suspense is thick. However, when the passion is hot, the writing is smoking.

Secondary characters are key in helping the plot move along at a nice clip. Mind reading is a clever trick. Dialogue is entertaining as usual and the location, the carnival, was unique and fun.

Vampire Most Wanted has a lot of surprises in store for fans of the series. It’s a well-rounded, engrossing and engaging story with many charming interactions between the characters. It was interesting figuring Divine out and fascinating watching her and Marcus fall in love. This is a great addition to the long running series and a definite recommend. Even new fans can enjoy this book with the only caveat being that they might end up being curious to find and read all the books that came before. If this book accomplishes that, they’re going to be in for a treat because some are even better than this one, but all are worth reading.

1) Freak of Nurture

If, out of the blue, you were offered your deepest desire, would you immediately recognize it for what it was and seize hold of it before it slipped through your fingers forever? And could you even be honest about what that desire might truly be? Could you forsake your whole way of life, throw over your loved ones and life-long beliefs to pursue something utterly unknown? Would you fall prey to temptation, not knowing where it might lead, what its consequences might be? Or would you purse your lips, turn your face away from everything you’ve ever wanted and refuse it in the name of propriety? Would you really leave behind the daily grind, the mortgage and the marital bed for something so deep and secret you can barely admit it to yourself?

Christian Trent, weary and soul-sore on the commute home late at night, is confronted with this very proposition…

Anton’s deadly obsession is fuelled by the voice of ignition that always insists, cultivating his urge to burn, prompting pyromania. The voice tells Anton that arson is his holy mission, that he’s destined to bring hell-fire to earth as the agent of fate, just and righteous. But despite his deep devotion to his fiery raison d’être, the voice is never satisfied. It whispers to him, ‘Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see them all burn?’ and Anton cannot help but agree. And so the voice’s incessancy drives him out on the prowl once again, cans of petrol in his car-boot and intent to commit arson in his heart…

3) A Tangle of Shadows

You are trying hard to recover from a devastating breakdown. Then, as if by chance, you meet the most lovely, glamorous woman you’ve ever encountered. She is extraordinarily beautiful and, consequently, far out of your league. So, it is entirely unexpected when she declares her desire for you, how her intention is to satisfy your every whim. And, astoundingly, she proceeds to do so, fulfilling all your needs with a style and nonchalance that captivates you. You are falling madly in love with her and she reciprocates, a new life of delight is unfolding before you like a map of paradise. Then, the rub. She tells you that she is in serious trouble, the kind of trouble that would only get worse if the police were called in. Without even realising it, you’ve been thoroughly enmeshed in a tangle of shadows and both your lives are at stake…

Sometimes thoughts are the scariest things of all.

There are traces of Edgar Allen Poe’s writing style in this collection. Mr. Hart knows exactly how to inject a dark ribbon of dread into what should be an completely ordinary sequence of events. His use of uncommon, slightly antiquated vocabulary and his ability to step into the mind of characters whose understanding of reality isn’t always analogous to how other people would interpret certain events also reminds me of Poe’s work. This is a particularly good book for readers new to the horror genre who aren’t necessarily familiar with all of the sub genres because so many of them are included in these tales.

“Freak of Nurture” caught my attention immediately. Mr. Hart’s description of what it feels like to live with anxiety is extremely accurate. Christian is not always an easy character to like due to how quickly he’s willing to stereotype and judge others, but seeing how his fears affect every aspect of his life gave me sympathy for his plight. There is quite a bit of telling instead of showing in this piece, though, and for that reason it is the weakest one in this book.

By far my favourite story is “The Voice of Ignition.” Anton is a chilling and nuanced antagonist who terrified me within a few paragraphs. Figuring out how he repeatedly eluded the authorities made it impossible for me to stop reading. The final scene alone would have made me give this tale a much higher rating if it had been released on its own.

Framing the plot as the content of a letter gave a unique perspective to “A Tangle of Shadows.” More than once I was convinced I understood what was happening only to be surprised by yet another plot twist. While I had some trouble figuring out the ending, the dialogue was so well-written that I enjoyed going back to determine what had actually happened.

Dollar Dreadful Vol. 1: A Tangle of Shadows is a frightening and thought-provoking collection of short stories that I would recommend to anyone who likes psychological horror.

Nanny/companion romances are one of my favorite sub-genre in romance novels, so I never miss the chance to indulge in one when on crosses my path. His Love is a relatively short story, but it is packed with everything from sex to industrial espionage. And in this case I have to say that “less is more” and “keep it short and simple” would have a better effect in the end.

His Love flows nicely and the plot is well developed. In the technical sense, the story is crafted nicely and it is definitely not a boring read. Unfortunately I had a problem with some other things in this book.  I had a lot of question marks — “what just happened, why, how?” But what I really missed from the story are these two particular and crucial moments, first I cannot pinpoint when the hero and heroine fell in love and second it is not quite clear how and when the hero restored his relationship with his daughter. On the other hand there is this one beautiful scene that melted my heart and shattered it into hundred pieces. Because of that powerful scene, I did not gave up on His Love. The other thing I liked in this story is that the author stepped out from the typical default frame of the nanny story – in which nannies are usually poor girls, without social support and no life experience. The heroine, Rayne, is everything but that, and because of that uniqueness His Love is worth reading.

If you are looking for a quick and different read featuring a nanny, new beginnings, redemptions, fast love and hot sex, look no futher.

Nothing has been the same for her since. Nicholas Hollsten has inherited his father’s business – but the office is as cold and emotionally bare as the man himself had been. Both Nicholas and Becca attend the same wedding reception (a Masquerade party) and the sparks fly immediately. A night of passion follows and despite their vow for it to be just the one night, as always there are repercussions in the morning. Added on to this, Nicholas’ side job as a security specialist for a very special firm have their first job from a CIA contact. Nicholas and Becca both have their plates full, and despite their struggles, they soon discover one night just can’t be enough.

This is a well written and very well paced full length novel. It took me a few pages to really get into Becca and Nicholas’ characters, but once the author hooked me on each of their situations I couldn’t read this fast enough. I greatly enjoyed how the author has fleshed out the main characters properly. I feel the author has gone to great lengths to make both Becca and Nicholas deep, complex and interesting characters. With a strong supporting cast (and what I feel is a few hooks into future books, Tank in particular interested me greatly…) I found this to be a really engrossing story, one you can’t just pick up and put down, but need to dedicate time to really enjoy.

There were a few really steamy sex scenes. While I wouldn’t classify it as erotica, it is detailed and nothing is held back. Romance readers who prefer their action sweet or behind closed doors might want to be cautious here. Even though I found the scenes graphic, I thought they were really sexy, tasteful and not at all outrageous. I was a little disappointed though with Becca’s about-face after the initial sex scene. I never really fully understood why Becca was perfectly content to be with Nicholas as a no-strings one night stand, but was so judgmental the next morning. She took one look at him and based on his appearance, his expensive, cashmere sweater (and admittedly his swagger) and decided that he was everything she hated in a man. Their sex the previous evening, the intimacies and discussions they’d shared – even the man Nicholas had shown himself to be sharing the rooftop garden and himself – was all forgotten in the blink of an eye. This really upset me as a reader, and made me strongly dislike Becca for a while.

I realise that there needs to be conflict and tension between the hero and heroine, and aside from this one (albeit large) character flaw shown in Becca, I liked seeing them try to come to terms with each other and their attraction. One of the things I really enjoyed throughout the book was the fact that the plot and the romance each take equal amounts of the story itself. This isn’t a romance with a throw-away plot added in for form’s sake. Nor did I find this a thriller/mystery book with a brief, hasty “romance” to appeal to the women readers. I feel the author has done a great job to balance the two out. The secondary characters also weren’t just thrown in to flesh out Becca and Nicholas. I’m quite intrigued by many of them and hope to read more of them soon.

Strong, complex characters and an interesting plot, plenty of spicy romance and a great side-plot with a hint of ex-Army men, there’s an awful lot to like in this book. Other than a few blips I greatly enjoyed this full length novel and can recommend it for many other readers.

Daniel Burnett was Jess’s first love. She’d fallen hard for him in high school. Together they’d gone off to college with big dreams. But not all dreams come true. Jess hasn’t seen Dan in ten years when they run into each other on Christmas Eve night…yet no force on earth can keep them apart.

Ten years before returning to Birmingham for good, Special Agent Jess Harris made a holiday stopover that she’ll never forget. Coming home for Christmas with her sister and her family, Jess is derailed when she runs into her first love in the local Publix. The next question is, will Jess make it to Lily’s on time for Christmas?

The Jess Harris we meet in Silence is both very different while being very much the same. She’s still hardheaded, determined, and willful. However, she isn’t carrying the shame of having lost the Player nor is she obsessed with bringing the same to justice. It was interesting to see how she was before all the bad went down, sending her back to Birmingham to help Dan. I also enjoyed watching her interact with Dan again after such a long time.

I can’t say much about Dan because, let’s face it, Daniel Burnett is practically perfect in every way. He never stopped loving Jess and it’s obvious. He’s still the strong, considerate rock of a man we meet in Obessession, and I have faith he always was and will be this same man. Dan is exactly everything Jess needs to balance herself out with.

Finally! I have been an avid follower of this series since it was introduced to me early last year. In practically every book since that first one, Jess has thought back to that Christmas she spent with Dan and now we finally have the story of what really went on that night. I wasn’t disappointed either. Silence was everything I had hoped it would be, both steamy and intense and full of the usual Debra Webb flair. It makes for a wonderful prequel to the series or, if you’re like me, a nice tidbit to tide you over until the next full novel is released.

The great thing about this story is the sparks. I definitely felt the sparks between Clarice and her soldier. Those sparks continue with Greg and Emily. They don’t think they should be together, but karma knows otherwise. I liked seeing them spar. They played off each other quite well and made me feel like I was right there in the room with them.

A lingering crush that suddenly turns into something more for Katy and Gage. It began as a flickering spark and quickly turns into a blazing flame. One night of passion that brings serious consequences. A twist of fate and memories are washed away. A love forever lost ? Well, that’s what this story is about. It’s dramatic to say the least. Two men staking their claim, and Katy doesn’t know which one is telling the truth. A jealous ex is out to make trouble, while Gage is determined to claim what is his.

As usual, Vivian Arend did an absolutely fantastic job on this book. It had a great plot, and wonderful characters that I liked reading about. I loved Gage ! He was all alpaha male, but different in his own way. He was possessive without being a jerk. I liked Katy. She made a strong heroine, just the way I like. She was a bit confused about things, but she never let anybody run over her. Arend did good by showing her frustrations at the gaps in her memory and the way things changed for her. So the story was well developed in that. For a short novel, the story had quite a bit of dramatic tension that kept things interesting. Gage had a past that no one knew about. It brings an intensity to the story without dominating the story line. I felt that the romantic relationship was the driving force in this story. It was sweet how Gage stood by Katy. They had good chemistry and the love scenes were scorching hot. Near the end there was some angsty drama in store for them before they could have their happy ending. This part made me enjoy the book even more than I already had.

Another thing that I liked about the book was how Arend explored the dynamics of this family we are going to be reading about. I gathered some interesting clues about some of the stories that might be right around the corner. It is very promising and I can’t wait for more.

So I enjoyed this book a lot. Vivian Arend fans are bound to love it as well. I would recommend it to everyone as a light, sexy read that you won’t want to put down. So happy reading !

Or does loving Julia mean having the strength to let her go?

An engaging and sweet romance, I read this in nearly one sitting.

Julia has been incredibly sheltered her entire life, and so watching her find her courage and spine and break out on her own was wonderful. Honestly, there were still times I wanted to smack her, and I did not like her family at all — until I “met” them. I’m a pretty independent person, so simply couldn’t imagine allowing anyone to have the kind of control over me that Julia’s family did over her. Still, while their behavior was far too overbearing, her family had her best interests at heart. They just didn’t realize that she’d grown up and had a mind of her own. Thank heavens she finally broke free, because she’s really a great heroine.

Paul is a sweetheart. In fact, I’m still trying to figure out whether he has any flaws. He’s kind, intelligent, handsome, smart and self-sacrificing. Of course, there are several times he’s resentful of the sacrifices he’s been forced to make, but ultimately he’s just a really nice guy. He leans toward being a bit controlling, too, so watching him try to curb those tendencies as Julia struggles to become more independent was interesting. This was especially true when it came to Darkside, Julia’s “whisper horse”.

This was my first trip to this town and its people. I’ve since discovered that Country Roads is book two in a series, but very easily stands on its own. The book has the small town flavor I enjoy, where everyone knows everyone and folks are in each other’s business. The characters, including some of the horses, are unique and interesting and really make the story as strong as it is. The plot didn’t have tons of conflict, especially in regards to the romance, but even so it kept me completely engaged and interested. I’m looking forward to revisiting this town, and perhaps going back and reading book one. Nancy Herkness is a skilled writer and I’m glad I read this book.
