Anna is a mysterious woman that has just moved to Regina Beach. The residents of the small town know everyone’s business and they are very interested in discovering Anna’s secrets. Nick was a Sergeant in the Canadian Army, doing active duty until a horrific accident sent him home to recover. He helps Anna feel safe and comfortable in her new environment, just as he has always done for his men in strange, dangerous places. Meanwhile, he focuses on preparing for his future physical endurance test to prove that he is capable of returning to active duty.

Anna doesn’t talk about her past, and Nick doesn’t talk about his future therefore she is shocked to discover that his greatest wish is to return to active duty. She won’t love a man who may die on the job again. Intellectually, she knows that all life cycles end, but emotionally, she doesn’t know if she has the strength to support Nick.

Anna Jenkins is a broken woman looking for solace from the sad eyes and well meaning platitudes of friends and family for grief they couldn’t even begin to understand. Losing her fiancé was bad enough, but as a trauma nurse she’s surrounded by daily reminders of his accident. It was enough to send Anna over the edge. While she knew everyone meant well, getting away from it all was just what she needed to begin healing. Murray’s cottage by the lake seemed to be the perfect place to start her new life, away from all the memories. Will Anna get what she needs from this tiny water side town? With Anna’s secrets, she can only hope the locals won’t pry and instead will let her be until she’s ready to tell them her story, if ever.

Nick Donnelly wasn’t expecting to ever have to come home from the Canadian Forces, until one day an IED took his decision away. The hero has two choices left , heal and find a new path, or be buried by the resentment eating away at the man he is and never heal. The journey is heartbreaking and real and all I wanted to do was hug Nick. His character made me ache from the agony, both emotional and physical, that he was in. The author did a wonderful job of bringing his pain to life in the pages of this book.

When Anna shows up on the doorstep of his B&B, haunted shadows in her eyes and needing a haven where she too can heal, Nick makes it his mission to help her and in turn begins his own healing. When feelings begin to develop between these two broken souls, can forgiveness and moving on be the very thing they both need to find each other in the abyss?

Set in Saskatchewan, Canada, the book was a delightful read. The characters, Anna and Nick were both so broken it would have been easy to write them both off, but Annette Bower made the entire story about healing broken hearts and soothing rioting souls. This was a great tale about forgiveness and moving on from tragedy without harping on all the bad that happened to the main characters. I will definitely read this story again and recommend it to other readers I know. If you are looking for a great story with a wonderful ending, then this is the story for you.

Lord Drake Boscastle has everything–smoldering good looks, extreme wealth, and devilish charms. Everything, that is, except true happiness. Hoping to satisfy his growing discontent, he is set to meet one of the most celebrated courtesans in England for a heated rendezvous. But on the scheduled night of pleasure, Lord Drake’s world is turned upside down by Eloise Goodwin, a wholesome, spirited governess with voluptuous curves and a beguiling wit. Even with an experienced seductress willing to satisfy his every need, Lord Drake cannot forget his encounter with Eloise.

Although swept off her feet by the mysteriously handsome rake, Eloise has more pressing matters to address. Her rebellious young client has escaped into the night with a local rogue and is nowhere to be found. Stepping in to assist, Lord Drake must try to resist his desire to indulge the longing passion he feels for Eloise. But once a scoundrel, always a scoundrel . . . or has the untamable Lord Drake at last been tamed?

The life of a companion isn’t usually this exciting or fraught with peril and intrigue but Ms. Hunter has written a heroine as fascinating and unusual as a woman can be. It was a great reading experience and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Eloise is all about duty, responsibility and plans. She’s focused, dedicated and suffers the indignity of caring for a spoiled rotten young lady who causes more problems than one woman should. All the heroine has to do is keep an eye on her until the wedding and then she’s free to pursue her goal of joining a lady’s academy. It’s almost a done deal, except for two things — a chance meeting that causes a sensual explosion of her well organized world, and her charge disappearing with the most unsavory character sets in motion a romance that shouldn’t have had a chance.

I liked Eloise because for all of her innocence, she’s no dummy. She observed the people that she came in contact with and learned the signals that told her to beware and avoid. However, nothing prepared her for Lord Drake Boscastle. I don’t think any woman could ever understand what it’s like to meet a man such as he. The hero is cynical, jaded, bored with life and too good looking for his own peace of mind. He’s at the point in his life where he knows he’s missing something and tries to take on a challenge that would jump start his interest in life. Instead he accidentally dallies with an intriguing young miss and his world is never the same. Readers will get a kick out of how easily and completely he falls under the heroine’s spell.

Eloise has secrets that are pretty darned funny but the most amazing thing is what the author decided to do with that secret. The saying, “What goes around, comes around” has never been truer. As the story unfolded, a certain possibility reared its head and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I knew something about someone in the book. Imagine my delighted surprise to realize it was true and once again, Ms. Hunter used a unique development to good effect in furthering the plot. It was funny, bittersweet and for the hero, quite the shock.

The whole conversational scene between Drake and Devon, his brother, was fun and 100% entertaining. I liked Devon, he’s got style and I hope to see more of him. The best illustration of their relationship is this bit of repartee,

Drake shook his head in exasperation. “What do you think, Devon?”

“I think you’re a damn moody swine.”

“I never claimed to be a bloody ray of sunshine.”

I loved that! What came next gave me the giggles. And after that was excitement. Then after that was a most intriguing hook that kept me glued to the pages. This book had it all.

The conflict threads are basically: staying one step ahead of the gossipmongers, keep Thalia pure and present for the wedding, have Eloise keep her own reputation intact, solve the mystery as to how to get rid of a certain burr and nuisance and the big one, how to be the perfect mistress when the hero is too dense to realize he’s really looking for something else. The interesting thing about the above mentioned list is how it changed throughout the book. Much like real life, goals and wants change with the experiences of life and new possibilities open up and take people on new adventures. That certainly happens in this story.

Secondary characters make the book fascinating. They spice up the lives of the hero and heroine with humor, steadfast support when things get really dramatic, and they help showcase just how wonderful Eloise and Drake really are for each other. The dialogue was entertaining and peppered with quips and side comments that amuse and inform. The villain was a worm and deserved what he got. Oh, and Thalia’s brother is a moron.

The Wicked Games of a Gentleman is an entertaining and engaging tale that prompts a reader to grin, gasp and keep glued to its pages. The book is filled with excitement, has a spicy and delicious romance and a hero and heroine that I enjoyed getting to know. It was a lot of fun and the characters were written well enough that I am inspired to find more stories on the Boscastle brothers. Thank you, Ms. Hunter for introducing readers to such interesting and challenging men to redeem.

Plain old ice cream just isn’t going to cut it. To beat these blues, chef Olivia Marconi needs the good stuff: rich, creamy tiramisu gelato. And no place better to get it than Italy. But a fresh start is nearly impossible with Sean Kindred dogging her every move. She’s been burned by his too-hot-to-handle antics before. Though there’s no denying the man can still get her all fired up. Could a weeklong affair finally turn into something more lasting…or will it all go up in flames?

Even a chef gets the blues. When all else fails, it’s time for a little something different. Say, going to Italy! Who knew a change of scenery could change a life? Certainly not Olivia. At least, not in the way that it happened.

Do you ever just get burnt out, even with something you’re passionate about? It happens. Everyone gets to that point some time in their life. That’s what the heroine in Luscious faces. Olivia is ready for a change, and she’s about to embrace it. Being a chef has been her life, but something just doesn’t draw her to it like it once did. Much to some people’s dismay, she’s ready to move on. I can relate to Olivia easily. She’s searching for something, though she’s not sure yet what she needs.

Sean needs Olivia. When he gets a chance to be around her more, he jumps on it. What a surprise when he shows up to go with her! I like Sean, a lot. He’s smooth, charming, and witty. I love how he’s so great to Olivia, and I knew he had feelings for her right away. He’s got a few things he needs to resolve, but as a whole, Sean makes for one heck of a hero!

Luscious is a fun read. The setting, the plot, the characters all come together for a fast-paced, funny and touching novel. Ms. Usen writes with flair and charm. The book left me with a smile on my face and a good feeling. It’s the kind of story that takes your mind off of real life and puts you in a cheery mood. A story about finding what, and who makes you happy is a winner in my eyes! This story will have a place on the keepers shelf.

All in all, I enjoyed this story! I can’t get enough of fun contemporary romps that have “a chance at being happy again” kind of feel. If you love stories full of heart, romance, and a little fun in Italy, Luscious awaits you.

There’s one question a girl should always say yes to…

But Lucy Gibson said no. On national TV. Now she’s hated by nearly everyone.

Fleeing the spotlight’s glare, Lucy holes up in a cottage in the country, where she just might find the right reasons to say yes after all…

From beloved novelist Philipa Ashley, Just Say Yes is a sharp and exuberant tale of the rocky road to love that’ll leave you saying “Yes!”

Lucy Gibson’s life is a muddled mess. A mediocre job, parties that produce miserable hangovers, and trying to sort out her feelings about Nick Laurentis, the gorgeous but unreliable man she has a “sort” of relationship with have her unsettled.

When Nick makes her a prime target for the tabloids, she departs the city with Fiona, to stay at Fiona’s cottage at the sea shore. There, where no one knows who she really is, she seeks answers, but none seem to be forth coming and the constant worry about being recognized hounds her.

“Not-quite-telling-the-truth’ and not knowing where she’s going in her life has Lucy worn to a frazzle. Consequently, when Josh Standring offers her a job cleaning cottages and settling in new renters for the season, Lucy accepts. Josh, a windsurfer and former bad boy, has a relationship with Sara who works at the yacht club, so Lucy declares him off-limits, but convincing her heart and body is another thing.

Fiona, Lucy’s best friend, is a successful author and often uses her “creative” thinking to offer Lucy advice, some of which leads to strife. Her “research” and how she chooses her male companions make for some delightful reading. Of course, her dog Hengist does his part in the humor department as he blunders about and frolics with Tally, Josh’s black Labrador.

Josh has a past that he’s still trying to come to terms with. It often colors his view of people. To him trust and honesty are “musts”. He’s also working through many other issues, like growing up and accepting the responsibility of taking care of his inheritance if he expects it to make him a living.

Charlie, Lucy’s neighbor and friend in London, creates his own special type of humor, but he also looks after her when things are unpleasant. He injects some clever British humor into this piece. Just Say Yes is full of bathos, irreverence, innuendo and ambiguity, and misinterpreting what is heard. The story sweeps the reader into a fictitious world that bubbles with comic relief as it reveals a love story that thrills the heart.

Phillipa Ashley creates fun-to-read fiction while subtly working in humanity’s bent to commit more than a few of the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’. She uses humor in a winsome, wicked way to shepherd the characters past their flaws and foibles to propel them to a happy-ever-after with a sizzle. Just Say Yes is sparkling entertainment!

Cuban-born, award-winning Miami Architect and successful real estate developer Cid Milan suddenly faces a dilemma when his dying father reveals to him a shocking twenty-five year old family secret. Cid realizes there is only one thing he can do to unravel the mystery of his own past and right the wrongs committed. He must return to the land he abandoned. In his quest, Cid rediscovers himself and his roots as he searches frantically throughout Cuba for his teenage flame, Sandra, and the secret she kept from him all these years. In the process, Cid learns an invaluable lesson about love, forgiveness and redemption which changes his life forever.

However Long the Night was a gritty, incredibly realistic portayal of life for Cid Milan, a Cuban who came to America more than twenty years prior to the story’s real beginning.  Cid wasn’t always the most heroic of heroes, at least not at the start.  I admit I struggled to like him for the first several chapters.  He’s arrogant, selfish and I wasn’t overly impressed with his moral compass (especially about what caused an estrangement between him and his brother, Manny).  Still, as time and pages passed, it became clear that Cid was molded by his past and that underneath the outer layer was a man with a good heart and a sense of right and wrong.  I may not have always agreed with his behavior or choices, but I understood the reason why he acted the way he did.

This story is layered with conflict over conflict, from the discovery of a family secret and Cid’s decision to return to Cuba and the things he learns there, to the internal machinations of people looking to betray Cid within Cid’s own company.  There’s so much going on sometimes, it leaves the reader breathless.

I thorougly enjoyed reading about Cuba. For most of us here in America, Cuba is a land of mystery. We know little about it, and Mr. Pereda certainly embued his story with loads of information about the country:  its sights, sounds and people — the good and the bad.

I think the story really gained traction once it entered Cuba. More questions were posed, intrigues about Cid’s father’s past there and the hunt for Sandra, the love of Cid’s young life and mother of the son he never knew.  The author writes with flavor and sensual detail.  Occasionally, it slowed the story, but the reader is never truly bored.  Perhaps it’s only because we have so many questions and worries that we get frustrated when things don’t move forward quickly enough to satisfy the need to discover just what’s going to happen.

Overall, though, I recommend However Long the Night, not as a romance as it’s billed by the publisher, though there are romantic elements, but as a fascinating suspense with a Cuban flavor and a completely satisfying ending.

The fairy tale courtship did not turn into a happily-ever-after . . .

Not until her husband dropped dead, that is. He had been horrible enough to Christiana during their short marriage, and she was not going to allow the traditional period of mourning to ruin her sisters’ debuts as well. So she decides to put him on ice and go on as if nothing’s happened . . .

Until the real earl appears. Richard Fairgrave had every intention of confronting his villainous twin who had robbed him of his name and title . . . only to discover that he had died. Quietly assuming his identity, Richard must now deal with a maddening desire for his ravishing inherited “wife”— certainly a gold digger and possibly a murderess. And Christiana must deal with an unwanted new “husband” . . . and they both must figure out what to do before the ice melts!

If a reader is searching for a madcap comedic romance with more twists and turns than a pretzel, they can’t go wrong with this delightful and entertaining romp by Ms. Sands. The Countess kept me guessing and smiling all the way through.

The main crux of the story is two-fold. How can a woman overcome the degradation of her first husband’s cruelty and trust a man who looks just like him? How can a man overcome his need for revenge and learn to trust the woman he thinks might have killed his brother? Sounds heavy doesn’t it? Those are the initial dramatic threads that rope a reader in by instilling a ‘need to know’. That need is cemented by the creation of two wonderfully fascinating characters that truly are fun together.

Christiana’s initial reaction to seeing her dead husband alive was classically funny. Richard’s reaction at her seeing him was equally entertaining. What comes after, the slow discovery of who and what Christiana is really like was akin to watching a rose bloom – petal by petal unfurled to become a woman Richard is helpless to resist. It was the quality of writing that pulled it off to my satisfaction.

The truth will set you free, or so they say. In this story, the truth makes more conflict, more trouble, more plot twists and more hilarity than a reader would expect from the blurb alone. I had no idea that the cast of characters that Ms. Sands populated The Countess with would be so adorable, entertaining, and integral to the motivation and plot to the degree they are. I don’t think this book would have been as fully fleshed out if even one of the secondary characters was shoved into the background. They all played key roles in the humor of the story. Certainly when it came to figuring out who the villain was, they were indispensable.

Speaking of the villain, what an interesting bit of writing that was. Even though the guy was dead, he still managed to cause an inordinate amount of mayhem for the hapless couple. Add to that another wrinkle that I never saw coming and one that I highly suspected but wasn’t sure of until the great reveal. I enjoyed how Ms. Sands wove those threads throughout the book. It was a steady, low-level hum of drama and suspense that flavored this tale that kept me as fascinated as watching Richard and Christiana fall in love.

My favorite parts were when Christiana got drunk, looking for the “strawberry”, when Suzette described what she heard, which made the heroine blush and sent me into a giggle fit, and I got a kick out of Grace, Christiana’s maid. And how could I forget the scene when Richard was so overcome with passion he forgot which bed he dropped the heroine onto. Of course that scene was not only chock-full of sensual tension but it was quite important to the progression of their romance…and other things.

What made this story even better was the secondary romance going on between Richard’s best friend and Suzette. Plus I think there is another simmering. What I appreciated about them both was how the author handled the extra romance threads – they enhanced the main story and didn’t dilute it in the least.

The Countess is entertaining romance at its finest. The author’s writing kept the pace brisk, pertinent, and showcased the best of what historical romantic comedic fiction has to offer. The dialogue was incredibly important in helping me understand the main characters and their motivations. It highlighted their personalities and foibles and when they declared their love, it was sweet and spicy all at the same time. The Countess has so much going for it, and is written so well, it’s not only a keeper to be re-read but a book that is worth recommending to other reader friends and fans of funny historical romances. I’ve read Ms. Sands’ paranormals before but this was the first I’ve tried of her historicals. I guarantee that this will not be the last. This author is very talented!

The discovery of a secret baby threatens Caleb’s professional reputation. Falling for the woman who loves this baby would ruin him.

Marriage therapist Caleb Paden has just found out he has a son from a one-night stand, making a mockery of his core belief of stable relationships—“friendship above all physical encounters.” On his way to take the child for a paternity test, a snowstorm leaves him stranded with single mom Olivia Wells, who blames his advice for breaking up her marriage. Caleb finds himself fighting the urge for the most basic of physical encounters. Olivia would like nothing more than to destroy the career he spent a lifetime building, but her maternal instincts draw her to help Caleb bond with his child. Soon, she finds herself falling for both of them. Nowhere in any of his advice does Caleb have an answer for how to make a relationship work if he loses his heart to love.

What makes a good marriage? Wouldn’t it involve love, attraction, and passion? A solid friendship, trust, and respect? One would think so. Marriage isn’t supposed to be all business-like. Even a marriage of convenience has a bit more than a business feel to it. But for one man, he builds his life around marriages. How they work. How they should work. The one major element he leaves out of it-emotion.

Meet Dr. Caleb Paden. He’s successful. He’s a public figure. Well known. You’d think he has it all. But there is so much to Caleb that many don’t know. Inside Mr. Forever, readers get a glimpse at the man who strives to fix everyone’s marriage with his theories. I think someone needs to teach him some new theories about what makes a true marriage work. I have some strong issues with Caleb. He shows no emotion. He detaches himself from everything and everyone. He puts his life into his Forever career, but how can he have any ideas if he’s never been there himself? I found him to be very condescending. He puts those around him under scrutiny, and that makes me cringe. Though it’s not a good reaction I have towards Caleb, it shows that the author has really put a lot of thought into his character. He felt very real to me. I could relate his personality to people I know. Does he drive me batty? Yes, but if I spent time considering his character and relating to him then the author did her job of pulling me into the story.

The heroine is Olivia. I admire her strength and stamina to handle a man like Caleb. She’s had a tough time in her life, but she doesn’t sulk over it. She has a son to raise and she’s very determined to make a better life for other children, as she’d like to become a foster parent. Olivia is the character I related to the most. Caleb questioned many of her actions, and though she did not have to explain herself, or defend herself, she does. Yet she has feelings and an attraction for him. I hoped from the very beginning that she would be able to make Caleb see the light, otherwise I wasn’t sure how they’d ever work!

My feelings are mixed about this story. Mostly about Caleb. I really wanted to throttle the man! He irritated me so. The characterization for everyone is strong, the plot had great pace. There’s even a second romance weaved into the pages, and I would have loved to read more about that. Ms. Daniel makes the characters stand out, the situations can be so true to real life and that’s the big thing I enjoyed about the story. The emotional dynamics of the book were built up on. Both Caleb and Olivia had some deep soul searching to do. Especially Caleb. He’d come a long way, and eventually I found him redeemable.

Overall, this book really kept me engaged. The writing is fresh, there’s some touching and funny moments, and I was glad to read it. If you’re a contemporary romance fan, why not get your Mr. Forever today?

From stable to boardroom…

Sarah Landon’s Ivy League scholarship transforms her from a wide–eyed country girl into a poised professional. Until she’s assigned to do damage control with the boss’s rebellious brother Lane, who’s the burr in everybody’s saddle. He’s determined to save his community from oil drilling, and she’s not going back to the ranch she left forever. Spurs will shine in this saucy romp about ranchers and roots, redemption and second chances.

When she left Two Shot, she had no intention of ever returning except to visit her sister and her niece. Now her job was taking her there and she’s been assigned to “work” the town and make them see just how drilling the land for oil would bring them benefits. It turns out to be much worse than she expected…

Ms. Kennedy picks a young woman with sad memories for her main character. She’s not weak; she got a scholarship to Vassar and is a smart professional figure now. She’s also made up her mind she’s done with men. I found Sarah very easy to relate to. I also grew up in a small town and worked myself up to the top of my profession so her life story sounded familiar.

The author’s male characters are brothers of two different types that are also carrying some baggage from the past. Lane is the oldest and a cowboy; Eric is an executive who owns the mineral rights to the land Lane has for his ranch. This causes a conflict between the two with Sarah in the middle. She’s the Public Relations gal, but convincing Lane of anything when he’s against it is no easy task. The romantic interest between Lane and Sarah also sparks trouble for them. It’s hard to argue while kissing each other, but they manage.

Ms. Kennedy mixes environmental issues with a desire to retain a small town atmosphere and does some creative plot work to find a compromise that will work for all. The plot was well thought out and the interaction between the characters was realistic and enjoyable. It’s a good read; why not get you a copy and check it out?

To break the bond Cat must broker deals with devils on a journey that will take her to hell and back—literally. Freedom comes at a high price, but Cat will risk anything to save her people and her marriage.

Having loved the first book in the series, this installment shouted “Read me!” I’m so glad I did.

I loved Cat and Lex in Blood, Smoke and Mirrors and was thrilled to get to review Bewitched, Blooded and Bewildered.

As you’d expect in a sequel, there’s less world building in this story and therefore who is who and what the rules are may be less clear for the first time reader, but if you’ve read the first one that shouldn’t be a problem. And if you haven’t read Blood, Smoke and Mirrors, you might want to.

Cat has developed and continues to develop skills in both fighting and magic department—skills she definitely needs both as an unwilling member of Zach’s “Team Evil” and Titania. As a relative newbie in both positions, there are more experienced/better qualified beings who think they have a right to both spots. Cat would happily give away her blood-bond with Zach, but it isn’t quite that simple. All this makes Cat’s marriage to her soul mate, the studly, ex-guardian Lex… complicated. Which sends them on a trip to Hell—literally. While the solution to some of the problems did come a bit easy, it worked for me.

I love how Ms. Bachar blurs the lines of good and evil in her characters. Like real people, no one is just one thing. Everyone has motives and, happily, in this story, the motives make sense. I particularly appreciated how “good” people in Bewitched, Blooded and Bewildered occasionally make bad decisions, and how sometimes the best intentions have bad results. Best of all, “bad” creatures can actually be good, or at least better than those labeled good. It makes for a complicated, yet realistic world. Very fun to read.

Ms. Bachar does a fabulous job creating three-dimensional, quirky, secondary characters with unexpected loyalties which I especially enjoyed.

Keep ‘em coming, Ms. Bachar, I’ll have my eye out for future installments.

It takes a real man to wear a kilt. And a real woman to charm him out of it.

Games of Love, Book 1

It might be modern times, but Kate Simmons isn’t willing to live a life without at least the illusion of the perfect English romance. A proud member of the Jane Austen Regency Re-Enactment Society, Kate fulfills her passion for courtliness and high-waisted gowns in the company of a few women who share her love of all things heaving.

Then she encounters Julian Wallace, a professional Highland Games athlete who could have stepped right off the covers of her favorite novels. He’s everything brooding, masculine, and, well, heaving. The perfect example of a man who knows just how to wear his high sense of honor—and his kilt.

Confronted with a beautiful woman with a tongue as sharp as his sgian dubh, Julian and his band of merry men aren’t about to simply step aside and let Kate and her gaggle of tea-sippers use his land for their annual convention. Never mind that “his land” is a state park—Julian was here first, and he never backs down from a challenge.

Unless that challenge is a woman unafraid to fight for what she wants…and whose wants are suddenly the only thing he can think about.

What happens when a man in a kilt crosses a woman in a Regency era dress? Lots of sparks leading up to lots of sexy fun, of course!

Kate Simmons is a member of the Jane Austen Regency Re-Enactment Society, and in charge of finding the appropriate venue for their upcoming gathering which has a tiny budget. The job was given to her after her friend Jada caused some embarrassment to some JARRS members at another gathering. Kate is also a manager at a bookstore. Julian Wallace is a member of the Highland Games athletes who compete at an annual event. He also has two younger half sisters and a widowed mother all of whom he dotes on every chance he gets. The main reason he participates in the Highland Games is in memory of deceased stepfather, Harold Wallace, whom he greatly admired and respected. To honor his memory, he is doing all that he can to make him proud by continuing his participation in the Highland Games. His dream is to win in the Highland Games and also land a valuable sponsorship so that he could afford to pay for things that his mother and sisters need. He has to work at construction jobs to make money so that he could afford to compete since competing only brings in money when he wins.

The big problem that causes major friction between Kate and Julian is the fact that both of them want the same venue on the same day, making their situation an impasse. At first they try to outlast each others’ group by camping out on the grounds to stake their claim. Hijinks ensue when one of the JARRS members brings along a hot tub to make camping out more enjoyable. I will leave the rest to your imagination…

I was drawn in by the interesting blurb for this book and was not disappointed at all. Ms. Morgan writes witty dialogue and informative, yet not overly done, narrative. I was thoroughly entertained by the entire story, chuckling at many thoughts of the heroine along with her misadventures, some of which were, not surprisingly, very sexy. I loved both the characters of the heroine and the hero in addition to some of the supporting characters. Even though Kate and Julian grew up in different circumstances with Kate being an only child in a well-to-do household and Julian being the older half brother in a family with very little money once his stepfather passed away when Julian was still young, they find common ground. Both are loyal to their friends and family. They are both also very passionate about their interests: Kate with JARRS and Julian with the Highland Games. The situations of the JARRS and the Highland Games groups were novel and interesting to me.

I enjoyed this book so much that I intend to look for more books from Ms. Morgan. This is another book for my keeper shelf which is always looking for more additions. For a wonderful story full of interesting and fun characters who have some sensational times, be sure to look for Love is a Battlefield!
