Tom’s character development was marvelous. He was a deeply flawed man when the audience first met him in the first scene. Honestly, I completely understood why his subsequent lifetime wasn’t a human one based on how much bad karma he accrued when he was Tom the person. The only thing better than getting to know him was seeing how slowly and unevenly he evolved from that point. Just like us real people, he made plenty of mistakes in his many lifetimes. Sometimes he’d seem to learn a lesson only to reveal that it hadn’t sunk in after all. In other cases, he surprised me with his personal growth in areas that I expected him to continue messing up in. It was delightful to watch him change and keep trying to become a better soul no matter how often he missed he mark.

There were several subplots in this book that wove in and out of the narrative depending on what was currently happening to Tom and how well he was following the rules that might eventually allow him to return to his original life again. I deeply enjoyed seeing how they all tied together. Sometimes their bonds were so tight that it was hard to separate them all out again, while in other sections the audience was given much more time to tease out the new developments in all of them. These changes always felt natural to me as a reader no matter how things were panning out.

I was thrilled with the world building. While some of the main character’s lifetimes involved creatures that were barely even aware of humanity at all, many of them were much more interested in how the system of reincarnation worked in this universe and what someone can do to be reborn into an easier life next time around. The more I learned about how it all worked, the more I wanted to find out! This became even more true once Tom’s main source of conflict with the ones who oversaw it all was revealed and developed.

The Reincarnation of Tom was a delightful tale that should be read by anyone who loves the science fiction genre or who wonders what it would be like to live many lifetimes.

The Change is an intriguing story filled with lots of diverse characters. At first, the number of characters seems overwhelming. However, Ms. Leigh has done an excellent job of defining each character. I had no problems keeping them straight in my mind as I read.

The Kincaids are certainly a dysfunctional family with a multitude of issues, but it is clear they truly care about each other. Each of the brothers are very different, and I’m not sure I have a clear favorite at this point. Alistair is oldest. He’s the alpha always trying to do what is best for his family, but the responsibility is heavy on his shoulders. Jacob is a tough nut to crack. He’s the strongest physically, but he’s more than muscle. Derek seems to be the peacemaker of the family. He tries to smooth rough edges of his brothers, especially the constant friction between Jacob and Zane. Zane, the youngest, is still trying to prove himself as an essential part of the family, but also mark himself as different. Will the Kincaids let their differences tear them apart, or will they use their specific talents to emerge as a stronger pack?

This story opens right at the beginning of a serious family crisis. I could feel Alistair’s urgency as he calls the family home, and the pacing never lets up. The tension continues to build with each page turn! Ms. Leigh also manages to fill in some pertinent background information without slowing the pace down a bit.

I must also say I liked Ms. Leigh’s portrayal of shapeshifters. Some stories have a tendency to either romanticize the life of a shapeshifter or show it as something horrible and violent. Ms. Leigh has found the balance between the two extremes. She highlights both the beauty and the brutality of the life they live.

The conclusion is very satisfying, but definitely left me wanting to know more. I have a feeling that though the immediate crisis has passed, things are going to be rough for the Kincaid family for a while. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series!

This is the only book by this author I have read but, based on this, she is definitely an author I will keep an eye out for in the future. A brilliant book absolutely recommended by me.

So this helped solidify the story as fiction and not like anything going on currently in our reality. This definitely helped me enjoy the story more.

I was really pleased that Lainey didn’t just fall over herself when she met Nolan. Even though he clearly was a good man and just wanted to help her, Lainey insisted on not lowering her guard, which I couldn’t blame her for. The world was a totally different place and it’d be stupid to just assume because someone did something nice they didn’t have any other motive. Admittedly this didn’t lend much of an air for romance, but I enjoyed watching Lainey and Nolan come to know each other and slowly develop feelings. It made the romance much slower paced, but it made their whole relationship a lot more believable and relatable.

Readers who like plenty of conflict and action should really enjoy this story. I was pleased the plot moved in a logical and quick pace – Lainey and Nolan coming to a bargain where he’d help her build a decent and safe wall and then she’d get him a solar-panel ATV for transportation. I enjoyed watching their relationship deepen and the trust grow between them along with their romantic feelings. The story had a good overall pace and plenty of action. While the ending wasn’t a cliff-hanger this is absolutely part 1 of an ongoing story. This part of the arc was well resolved but readers who enjoy everything neatly wrapped up might feel mingled emotions in that the next stage forward is clearly set up but readers will have to wait for the following installment.

With good characters, a totally believable story line (even though it’s the end of the world) and a fast-moving pace this was a great story I really enjoyed.

Ms. Soleil had a marvellous way with words, especially when it came to capturing small moments in life that could easily be forgotten either purposefully due to how difficult they were or accidentally due to how quickly they passed by. Based on my first impression of her writing style, I’m going to be keeping an eye out for anything she writes in the future.

I adored how realistic the storyline felt. Obviously, the science fiction elements couldn’t happen in our world, but everything else genuinely felt like it was being recounted by Neala herself. There was a time about twenty pages into it that I stopped reading and googled it to see if any of the characters or plot twists were based on things that truly happened. That was how convincing it was!

One thing I did need to adjust to when I first began reading this tale was how much it jumped around from past to present and from one topic to the next. While it did require a little bit of patience in the beginning as I grew used to it, there were excellent reasons why it was written that way. I’m glad I relaxed into the flow of the scenes and allowed them to take me where they wanted to go.

Neala was a loveable and relatable protagonist. Her social anxiety and tendency to put herself down for making the smallest errors in life gave me the urge to hug her. If only she could have seen what a kind and wonderful person she was! She was so much harder on herself than anyone else would ever be. More than anything, I wanted her to realize that and not worry so much. Honestly, she was miles ahead of where she thought she was in her personal development.

Limbo Jubilee was truly delightful. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I loved the fact that Gloriana had a full, happy life before she met Nathan. She had a strong network of friends and a job that brought her a great deal of joy. Knowing that she’d already rebuilt her life after a tragedy only made me more curious to see how she’d react to the idea of falling in love again.

As great as the chemistry was between Gloriana and Nathan, I was startled by how quickly their relationship moved. Both of them seemed to be cautious and sensible adults, so it came as a shock to me to see how they reacted to their first date. I would be wary of anyone who tried to get so lovey-dovey with me that fast. While I totally understand that everyone has their own comfort levels when it comes to developing intimacy with a potential new partner, it sure would have been helpful to have more character development here so I could see if this was a pattern for them or if it was something they’d normally never do.

Just like with Stracciatella Gelato: Melting Time, this tale existed happily in the grey area between the fantasy and romance genres. I once again appreciated the fact that it had such a light touch. That was the perfect way to speak to a wide variety of readers and let everyone decide for themselves who or what might have gently nudged these characters into crossing paths.

Rainbow Sprinkles was a sweet treat that I’d recommend to anyone who is in the mood for something lighthearted.

The storyline itself is simple yet complicated. Apollo’s line has been decimated. Someone is plotting against the remaining gods. The Titans are being released. All hell is literally about to be set free. Intertwined with this is the Soulmate Bond, something that hasn’t happened for aeons. Chloe and Phobos have this bond and yet have to hide it from everyone as they don’t know who they can trust. PLUS, and it’s a big plus, Ares (Phobos’ forefather) has plans of his own for Chloe.

I loved the setting and the characters of this book. Ares started as a big pain in the butt but turned into someone I sympathized with. Deimos always brought a smile to my face. Aedan was a little brother. And Bailey is a hellhound marshmallow with a strong protective streak. All in all, guaranteed to bring a smile to my face. Now, Chloe. She is the main female character and the one who has been scarred the most. She is a fantastic character too, the changes she goes through as the story continues just shows how even the most traumatic experience can loosen it’s grip on you once you have someone to love you unconditionally.

This was a brilliant book and a great start to a new series. Phobos and Chloe get their HEA (or is it HFN) and I really can’t wait to see where this story will go to next. If you love hot romance coupled with mythology, then I really can’t recommend it highly enough.

As for Maxim Vallois, he fell in love with her as soon as he met and scented her. I loved the fact that he refuses to do any paperwork and leaves it up to his son, Heath Decker. He is what is called a Dhampir, a child of a human mother and a vampire father. They can go out in sunlight, but they inherit their vampire father’s abilities.

The relationship between father and son is nice but Heath becomes exasperated with him when he makes rash decisions or does something to embarrass him. One of the funny jokes that go throughout the story is Maxim blaming himself for not getting Heath crayons when he was young, and Heath calling him an “crazy old bat”. To Heath’s surprise he actually likes Robyn and considers her one of his few friends. You could call him a work-a-holic among work-a-holics. He gets very exasperated with his father as he keeps pushes him to go on at least two dates, to get out and have some fun. Robyn is a wonderfully developed character that is one of the few people who do not hold any discrimination towards the supernatural creatures around her. I could also tell just how much she enjoys her job and was horrified by the way his collection was stored.

Besides being a handsome man with morals, Maxim is allowing Robyn to take charge of how fast their relationship goes. That said, he is desperate to claim her. I love his character as he takes nothing seriously except his feelings for both his son Robyn and his job. He is an elder vampire and has seen all sort of changes, but he just can’t take the world seriously. He is a little possessive of her and has an almost obsessive need to feed her. Part of the reason is back before he was changed, he knew true hunger and does not like to see anyone thin, and as Robyn is rather thin, he wants to fatten her up.

This is a book I would recommend to everyone that likes paranormal romance. The characters and plot are fun, and the romance is rather sweet to watch. They have an instant attraction that neither tries to resist. The love scene is sweet, and both know that they have found the person for them.

Have fun sitting back and watching the chaos happen, but you might want to be alone or others might think you are crazy for laughing so much.
