After two years of running from her father’s death, Zamya “Mya” Daniels is ready to win back the man she loves. Except Guy doesn’t believe in second chances. When Mya sets out to repair their broken relationship, Guy’s guarded heart is helpless against his body’s desires.

Will their old bond be enough to save their love—or will they come to accept that some things just aren’t meant to last?

This was a quick enjoyable read that offered a plot that brought something different. Young Zamya ‘Mya’ Daniels just lost her father and felt that being committed to Guy Lawson was a lot of pressure for her. So she left him and the country to live with her mother for two years. The chapter opens with Mya in route to Cedar Bend. Guy hasn’t been notified that Mya is returning; so her return is a shock to him. This shock brings about the question: will Mya be able to win Guy’s trust and heart back?

I enjoyed this book and how the author brought something new as a plot. The book opens with a twist and gives the reason for Guy’s distrust and wounded heart. I was curious how or if this relationship could be saved. Guy’s heart was broken and cut deep when Mya left him. I felt the attraction and desire that Guy had towards Mya; though Mya expressed her feelings for Guy I didn’t really feel that her love was shown. It was more so she was living for the Guy she remembered two years ago and expected him to pick up where she left off.

This story gave a powerful statement on forgiveness and second chances. Guy is written as a strong and dedicated man. I like how he stands his ground to the mayor and even to Mya. The way Mya just popped back into his life he kept his guard up. Mya seemed kind of unsure of what she wanted. She felt the need to come back to Guy when she got ready. She seemed selfish to me in wanting Guy to have feelings for her, and wanting him to make a place for her in his life.

Mya wasn’t the most likable character to me, but the writing was sweet and I wanted Mya and Guy to end up together. In some way it just felt like after all they’ve been through they would work through their issues and have a happy ending together.

This is a sweet read that will be sure to tug on readers that enjoy a well written happy romance.

Confused by her own attraction to the tattooed “thug,” Rachelle sets out to make Jay as aware of her as she is of him. Unfortunately the threats to her life are all too real, and Jay is forced to bring her into “his world” until the threat is…dealt with. But he has an even bigger fight on his hands–his desire for the one woman he’s forbidden to have.

Two young people with a complex family life find their introduction in His Diamond Queen. Jay Price had a not so fortunate up bringing, while Rachelle Silva has anything her heart desires at her disposal. But is that a good thing when her mother has been a mistress for 25 years? Rachelle’s father is a man of power and status, and this brings about many enemies, which in turn opens up a position for Jay Price as Rachelle’s personal body guard.

Besides their chemistry and attraction drawing them together, I just didn’t see this couple fitting together with conversation of things they have in common nor did I see them growing as a couple. Though the attraction was one that could not be denied the sex scene just seem forced or out of place to me. It was kind of like they realized they were alone and said hey let’s have sex. There was no type of romance or special evening planned just straight to the do. In the first part of the book their relationship wasn’t one I enjoyed reading about. In the beginning they were hating each other as well as denying their attraction; they had sex and then were in love and were inseparable. I would have like to see them spending quiet moments together first and then working their way to the intimate moments. The author didn’t let me down though. After about half way the book is when they started sharing moments, spending time as a couple talking and sharing interest. From that point I did start to like the time Rachelle and Jay spent together at home and the time they spent with Jay’s friends.

I liked the mystery and the suspense of finding out what was going on and why Rachelle was in danger. Finding out who was behind the attempted kidnapping and break-ins was sort of a surprise. I thought someone else was behind it, but I was wrong. It didn’t take me long to read the book, and even though the storyline was predictable it was a cute read. I enjoyed the action scenes as well. Even though this is a love story I appreciate the author including a few good action scenes. The writing is pleasant, easy to follow and moved fairly quickly.

I am a fan of the author but this book didn’t completely win me over like the prior series of Queen Quartette books. The author has the same type formula of women in distress, and attractive men that just happen to be right there to save them. In this series Jay is a former bad boy which added dimension to the character and also brought about the scenario of bad boy meets good girl. The variety of their up bringing brought about an interesting combination and entertaining read.

Though this is one I wouldn’t announce as a must read, it still would be a good read for those that enjoy a book with no cliffhangers and that has a happy ending.

But the sexy, dark-eyed security chief is proving very hard to ignore. When fear and blackmail drives her to compromise her new position at Royal Courts, Judith’s serene life is once again disrupted.

Carlos is captivated by his boss’ assistant. Beyond her beauty is a sweet, gentle woman needing desperately to be loved. But when an internal investigation points to her, he realizes Judith may not be the innocent she appears. Left wondering if he’s been duped by a pretty face and bewitching smile, Carlos finds himself torn between his obligations to Royal Courts or protecting the woman who’s already stolen his heart.

On the run from her past and forced into hiding, Judith is faced with two choices—either let fear define her future or allow love to heal her wounded heart.

This is a story that has been told before but the characterization and in depth dialogue made it one of a kind that surely surpass the average. The humor in the chase of Carlos Moreno, Chief of Security at Royal Courts, won me over. I was so in awe of Carlos and enjoyed his character so much. He was so refreshing, original and a man that you don’t read about often. Carlos is confident and open with his feelings and didn’t mind showing his interest in Judith.

Judith Bell has been employed at Royal Courts for a short time span and she knows she has captured Carlos’s interest but because of her personal reasons she holds fast in not reciprocating Carlos advances. Not wanting to be vulnerable again, but she inadvertent makes a sexier choice in her hair and dress, and believe me Carlos takes notice.

Carlos has let his guard down while on security detail someone has hacked into the system and caused the serves to crash. Carlos has found himself in a dilemma. The question is…Who is responsible?

All I can say is oh my. This book is really hot and much more than what I expected. There is an actual storyline that is well constructed, entertaining and includes the most steamy satisfying love scenes you will ever read. Carlos not only talks a good game, he shows Judith how much he wants her, and he wants to see that same desire for him in her eyes. A man that is willing to please and satisfy and all he requires is that Judith give him her heart. My heart soften just reading about the true protector that Carlos proved to be.

Judith is a woman that has been through a lot in her past. I can understand she wants to live a simple life of just work, and home to her cat, but Carlos has found the queen of his heart and he is not so easily letting her go. Judith is a strong character and yes she made a bad decision under a moment of distress, but overall she is a likable character that I felt deserved happiness.

This is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and hated to see the story end. I will be adding Lena to my list of author’s to follow. I enjoyed her writing style, her character are well developed, her plot is one of interest mixed with suspense, and a tale that is sure to have the nature of all who read it rise. Raging passion and heartfelt emotions, this is a must read, simple as that!
