I love that as the story goes on, Aislinn convinces Gavin that anything agreed upon in their bed is acceptable, as long as they both agree. And I also loved that Gavin came to appreciate Aislinn for herself, needing her to be his wife as herself. The sex is sizzling, and more so because of the time setting. There are tears and laughter here, and the happy ever after is an unusual one. If you enjoy magic and history, this is the book for you.

Adding some tension by upping the ante would have been welcome. Another disappointment was the abrupt ending. I’m aware this was probably done to leave room for a sequel, but even then, it seemed a trifle rushed.

Aside from that, the material is well written, fast paced, and easy to read. The characters are memorable, the interaction between Lia and Jericho is combustive, and there is enough intrigue to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next.

Meant for those that enjoy paranormal with a slathering of steamy sex, if you’re in the market for some vampire/werewolf loving, you’ll enjoy Illicit Hunger.

Ms. Drewry writes an exciting short story filled with connections to the non-fiction world. But the story is told in such a fashion that the reader comes away interested and curious, rather than bored. One of the parts of the story that really held my attention was Ivan’s pacing. He got to know Gabrielle. Their strolls through the country to visit landmarks and churches were a unique means to get the characters together.

I also enjoyed the mega-hot kiss at the club. You could feel the steam of their passion in Ms. Drewry’s storytelling. Very hot.

The plot is unique in that the characters, all different (a man, a woman, and an alien) must learn to co-exist with their differences as they explore their sexuality and try to nab a rogue drug lord. We can all relate to the idea of trying to work with people we aren’t used to and making the situation function. My favorite part was the afternoon of no-holds-barred sex. They went to places outside their comfort zones, but they did it within the safety of people they trusted. We should all be so lucky to have friends and lovers like that.
