It’s Getting Hot In Here. . . Maura Mahoney expects to spend her thirtieth birthday the way she’s spent so many others. She’ll work at the Cherry Lane retirement community, have a quiet dinner with her parents, and end the evening with a solo hot chocolate before turning in early. Sedate, but safe. Then Jesse Blue turns up at Cherry Lane, ready to do community service to avoid jail time. And suddenly, prim, by-the-books Maura can’t stop thinking about a sexy, motorcycle-riding bad boy who seems wrong for her in almost every way.

But beneath his gruff exterior, Jesse is a man of surprises. He’s filling the once drab community center with color and life. He’s bonding with the residents. And he’s prompting scorching, wild dreams Maura would never be bold enough to act on. Or would she? Because the way Jesse looks at her, Maura could swear that this heated, smoldering attraction runs both ways. . .

Trouble comes in all shapes and sizes. But trouble is definitely NOT welcome at Cherry Lane. A little too late, because Trouble just walked in. There’s more than meets the eye when it comes to Jesse Blue, and readers are about to discover the truth beneath his rough exterior.

The line may be cliché, but you’ve heard of it: don’t judge a book by it’s cover. And don’t judge a person by their exterior appearance. It doesn’t help that there’s a record with that gruff look, but still, you can look past that too, right? Maura isn’t too sure of this Jesse character coming into Cherry Lane, but let’s just say that Jesse entering her life changes things for her. Maura is a people pleaser. She’s always had to be. She had to please her guardians, be the perfect child, and now that she’s older that has just kind of stuck. Some think she’s an ice queen. It’s not something Maura is very happy about, which is understandable. She and Jesse are polar opposites, have had different backgrounds, but they have a mutual understanding of each other in some aspects. Their sexual chemistry comes on strong and only gets more intense as the story goes along. Maura doesn’t want to feel the way she does for Jesse, for various reasons. She has a tendency of driving me nuts, but I can relate to Maura on multiple levels. Watching her grow during the book was a pleasure. I love her strength and her ability to accept people as they are, even if it isn’t at first glance.

Where to start with Jesse? He’s a flawed hero, indeed, but isn’t everyone full of imperfections? Jesse has a good heart, through, which is what makes him so lovable. Even though he dis something that in the eyes of others wasn’t right, he stands by his actions with a firmness like you wouldn’t believe. He has this soft side with wanting to help others. The mystery of Jesse was like Christmas presents. You only get a hint here or there, the anticipation drives you wild, but little by little, you get to unwrap the life that is Jesse’s past and present. I love how he changes Maura for the better, teaches her to loosen up a little bit and enjoy life for what it is, instead of making everyone else happy.

The entire story is written with zingy dialogue, lighthearted and witty narrative, and characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. Jesse and Maura are a little outside the box, but I think many people can relate to them and their situations on many occasions. Ms. Fox writes a great story with sizzling tension. I couldn’t keep my eyes away from the pages. One of my favorite stories by this author by far! The setting, the plot, the characters, they all stole my heart. The one downside is that in a few places the story seemed to lag, there wasn’t always a high amount of action, but overall, I couldn’t get enough!

If you like a good heartwarming romance, give Body Heat a shot.

Dr. Melanie Lipton is no stranger to the supernatural. She knows immortals better than they know themselves, right down to their stubborn little genes. So although a handsome rogue immortal seems suspicious to her colleagues, Sebastien Newcombe intrigues Melanie. His history is checkered, his scars are impressive, and his ideas are daring. But it’s not his ideas that have Melanie fighting off surges of desire. . .

Bastien is used to being the bad guy. In fact, he can’t remember the last time he had an ally he could trust. But Melanie is different–and under her calm, professional exterior he senses a passion beyond anything in his centuries of experience. Giving in to temptation is out of the question–he can’t put her in danger. But she isn’t asking him. . .

I adore stories where the underdog finally wins the girl but not too often is the good guy a bad guy that everyone wants to see executed. It takes a special woman to not only see beyond the common perception and clamoring for blood, but to also be able to see the truth of the man inside. The challenge for the heroine is to open everyone else’s eyes to the truth as well. Such is the story of Melanie and Bastien.

Phantom Shadows is a real page flipper. There is so much drama, suspense and action of various levels in each chapter that it was almost impossible to put down. There is an incredible amount of detail woven throughout the book that brings the whole world that Ms. Duvall has created into vivid focus. It sucks a reader in so effectively, time ceases to exist. I totally enjoyed my reading experience because of it.

Melanie is a character that has been in a couple of books. She’s a doctor; she’s smart, sassy and has a secret crush on the resident bad boy, Bastien. Except her infatuation isn’t shallow or short-lived, it’s the start of a budding romance birthed in violence and aggression. The first time the heroine met the hero was pure chaos and yet, she saw what no one else did. Bastien trusted her with knowledge that planted the seed of their future alliance. The fruit of that initial meeting is realized in this book and Ms. Duvall simply awed me with the intricacy of the tale.

What is so intricate? It was how she let a reader know bit by bit the true scope of Bastien’s ability to be a true hero. It came about during well-paced and placed dialogue. It was how she had her hero interact with Seth, Richart, Ami, Darnell, Sarah, Roland, Cliff, Joe and Marcus and a slew of other characters. Not a one detracted or diverted a reader’s attention to the fact that this book is about Melanie and Bastien. What it did do was make me feel like I was watching a movie, about a community under fire and everyone was at their battle stations. Every single character played an important role that propelled the plot, conflict and action that affected the choices that Bastien and Melanie had to make, both apart and together. The result of dealing with each crisis helped the protagonists learn about each other, their strengths and weaknesses and it was effective. I enjoyed watching their bond grow and strengthen throughout the story. Because of how Ms. Duvall wrote her characters, they were easy to root for and applaud their efforts, even when Bastien was being a jerk. Actually, that was part of his charm. I got a lot of smiles out of his baiting the other characters. He’s such a troublemaker. Yet, his heart is in the right place and that’s one of the reasons that I think he’s an awesome hero.

Melanie is no slouch. She has a few surprises up her sleeve too. And she scares the tar out of Bastien more than once in the story. So much so, it’s amazing he didn’t have gray hair by the end of the book. To say that she is his perfect match is an understatement.

I felt really bad for Stuart. And I was saddened at what happened during one of the main and brutal attacks in the book. Someone gets captured and the results are heartbreaking. The good thing is that the bad guys, the really bad, bad guys, get their comeuppance. I wanted to be there with the hero and heroine and kick some evil derriere myself, that’s how hyper I got. I really like the people I’ve “met” while I’ve read this series and all of them are precious to me. It must have been hard for the author to write some of these scenes. And yet, she accomplished them with brutal clarity so my emotions were involved. That’s quality writing.

There is so much more I could go into in reviewing this book. It has great depth of emotion, descriptions that made me laugh or weep and parts that kept me wide eyed from the action. A writer has to have almost military precision with words to be able to get the effect of intense action off of the pages and into a reader’s mind without diluting the scene with unnecessary words. Ms. Duvall has that talent.

Honestly, Phantom Shadows is a must read. True, it would have much more impact for a reader if they’d read the previous books to understand why Bastien’s use of Ami was such a daring and profound choice. This series has been amazing so far and Phantom Shadows continues to astound and impress, not only with the quality of writing, but the sheer scope of its undertaking. How the author can keep all the players doing their thing while focusing on the current romance yet feeding a reader’s desire to continue the relationship with previous heroes and heroines is an art. An art that Ms. Duvall is mistress of. Rock your world and read Phantom Shadows. I’m glad I did.

COURTING DANGER

Lady Evelyn Darlington’s first love was the law. But since a woman scholar meets nothing but ridicule from men, she has given up and chosen a future husband. Randolph seems adequate for the task: to provide intelligent conversation and not annoy her too much. Of course, before they can be engaged, she’ll have to do something about the murder charge hanging over his head. If only London’s top barrister wasn’t Jack Harding, object of all her unattainable girlhood fantasies…

AND SEDUCING SCANDAL

Jack Harding remembers Evelyn well—but the idea that the gorgeous woman standing before him is little Evie, the professor’s daughter, is incredible. He knows better than to enter a business relationship when he wants to pursue pleasure. Yet however desirable she is now, Evie is still Evie—stubborn, smart, and never willing to take no for an answer. Even though proving her betrothed’s innocence might just cost her her own…

Lady Evelyn Darlington knows law. She’s been reading her father’s law books for years. When she was twelve years old, she had a tremendous crush on Jack Harding, one of her father’s best law students. Being a precocious, charming, intelligent little girl, she’d done all she could to gain his attention, even learning Latin verbs as well as studying law books with even more fervor. Now ten years later, she watches Jack in court and knows she still feels a connection with him—for all the good it’s worth she tells herself. But she needs his legal help and plans to have it one way or another.

Jack Harding is a winning lawyer, called “the people’s lawyer”, and he loves winning. Every win is like a drug addiction. He wants more and more. The law is his mistress and demands his all. Soffer is definitely an skilled in bioidentical hormone remedy and has handled 1000’s of females struggling from your signs of menopause and perimenopause including scorching flashes, fatigue, night sweats, excess weight obtain, melancholy, minimal libido, disposition swings and irritability. discount for cialis The users of cialis price canada got the perfect satisfaction by using the herbs for increasing the hormonal balance and curing the sexual disorders. But when “little Evie”, now the breathtakingly beautiful, elegant, golden-haired Lady Evelyn with the turquoise eyes, asks for his help to clear her ‘soon-to-be’ fiancé of a murder charge, Jack’s body takes no heed of his brain’s logical reasoning. From the minute Jack sees the grown up Evie, he knows she’s nothing but trouble. Even as a child she had a know-it-all attitude. She’d been a little minx; he doubts she’s changed. She has a more sophisticated scholarly aura about her now, but she also has a determined look. Jack has no idea that his scent and the feel of his touch are intoxicating to her untried body and heart.

The tangled messes Jack and Evie get themselves into, as they try to prove Randolph Sheldon did not murder his cousin Bessie Whitfield, keep the reader intrigued. His lawyer friends, James, Brent, and Anthony rally to the cause while all the time giving Jack a lot of grief about his new “Lady”. Of course, Jack denies there is anything other than his sense of obligation to his old master the Earl of Lyndale, Evie’s father. The three lawyer friends James Devlin and Brent Stone inject humor, advice, and a touch of mystery while Anthony Stevens puts in a bit of cynicism and a somewhat crude attitude about women. He’s a divorce lawyer and knows too many secrets about too many ladies.

Other secondary characters that ramp up the action and the tension as the plot unfolds are: the hiding Randolph; Simon Guthrie, the go-between for Randolph and Evie; the Earl of Lyndale; the Earl of Newland; Evie’s friend Georgina’s father, Maxwell; and Bessie Whitfield, the lady of the night with a diary. Who are good guys and who are bad guys gives the reader some surprising shocks. Who would have thought it?

Tina Gabrielle uses the elements of the English Regency period to create a tantalizing setting for a plot that twists and turns from the halls of academia to the fetid alleys of London with characters ranging from nobility to rough, dangerous thieves and smugglers. Ms. Gabrielle’s well-developed characters, her descriptions that quicken the senses and the magical love scenes make In The Barrister’s Chambers spellbinding. How she untangles all, and ties up all the loose ends to get to a happy-ever-after keeps the reader turning pages.

I’m looking forward to James Devlin’s story In The Barrister’s Bed and hoping there will be stories about Brent Stone, the gorgeous, mysterious lawyer and Anthony Stevens, the cynical lawyer.

He Is Their Judge…

In death, they are purified. Holding his victims under water, he washes away their sins as they struggle for their last breath. Then he stakes their bodies to the ground, exposing them for what they really are. Witches, sent to tempt and to corrupt…

Jury…

No one knows about defense attorney Charlotte Wellington’s murdered sister, or about her childhood spent with the carnival that’s just arrived in town. For Charlotte, what’s past is past. But others don’t agree. And as a madman’s body count rises, she and Detective Daniel Rokov are drawn into a mission that’s become terrifyingly personal…

And Executioner

At last, she is within his reach. All his victims deserve their fate, but her guilt is greatest. And with every scream, he will make her see what it means to suffer and repent—before she dies…

She makes him crave dark, evil passion. She must be a witch. The “voice” whispers, she’ll steal his soul. He must kill, but first he must purify her.

Better go lock the doors, close the blinds, and turn on the night lights. Before She Dies is hard to put down once started and if night comes, one surely wants to be locked in safe and secure.

The undercurrent of chilling, terrifying violence threatens to suck Charlotte Wellington and Sooner Tate under as each works to make a life outside the hocus-pocus of Madame Divine’s carnival tent—a place Grady Tate had demanded they work.

Charlotte Wellington, a hard-edged defense attorney made it to where she is with determination, hard work, and hard lessons learned from Grady Tate. Her colleagues believe her to be a trust-fund baby—she acts the part. She guards her secrets well—past and present. Her newest secret is having sex with the intense detective Daniel Rokov—strictly for sexual gratification with no strings attached. Even after eighteen years, Charlotte’s life as a carnie still influences and shadows her. She is still haunted by memories of her dead sister Mariah; the baby Sooner; her own dead mother who had come to believe she was truly psychic; and the alcoholic, dyed-in-the-wool carnie Grady Tate. When the carnival comes to town, Sooner and Grady Tate storm back into Charlotte’s life big time.

Old ties that still bind tangle them all in the snare of a killer that believes his mission in life is to trap, purity, and then kill “witches”. This character chills the blood. WOW!

Detective Rokov and his colleagues, with skill, dedication, and tenacity, work the case of the vicious killer who is unspeakably cruel to his victims. Detective Rokov can be as hard-edged as Charlotte is when the need arises, but he is also gentle with giving bad news to victim’s families, respected by his coworkers, and truly caring with his own family—particularly with his grandmother. She’s a sweetheart.

The secondary characters, many as complex and memorable as the primary characters, make Before She Dies a gripping story. Grady Tate has as many layers as an onion. As the layers are peeled away, the reader sees not only his flaws and saving graces but also sees how Charlotte and Sooner came to have their hang-ups.

Sooner who, at eighteen, is determined to spread her wings, fly away from the carnival, and make her way in the world, stirs up a hornet’s nest. Secrets, fears, hatreds, and horrific tortures boil to the surface as author Mary Burton, with subtle clues and foreshadowing, weaves the antagonist into the plot as she continues to weave in the “not-to-be-denied” love that claims Charlotte and Detective Rokov for its very own. However, the multi-layered, memorable characters, the complex plot, and spine-tingling horror are so engrossing; it is easy to overlook the subtleties. Who the antagonist is may be a real surprise.

Ms. Burton’s amazing ability to weave together a tapestry of a tale that keeps one turning pages with bated breath is phenomenal.

Merilee Fallon has been planning her wedding to Matt Townsend since she was seven, and now the big day is only two days away. But suddenly she has an unexpectedly serious case of cold feet. So she shocks both Matt and herself—and calls off the wedding.

But she’s about to discover that sometimes there’s nothing more arousing than first love—especially on a cruise ship where there are no rules and anything goes…

It is the unexpected that makes the heart beat faster, the desire stir a little longer and the longing drive the emotional experience. It is when the expected becomes the unexpected that lives are changed forever.

Matt and Merilee have been each other’s soul mates since they were seven years old. Now in college and preparing to finally get married, unexpected questions arise and fate throws a curve ball. A chance observation of her sister’s new fiancé pouring his heart out and admitting his true devotion makes Merilee wonder about her relationship with Matt. Is it all too convenient, do they really want the same things, and are they really meant for each other?

This is book four in the Wild Ride to Love Series by Susan Fox and it is as good as the very first book. This is startling, sensual, sexy, passionate tale of two lovers finding their way back to each other as new people.

A warrior, a demon, and the girl next door… Looking For Trouble

Addy Corwin is a florist with an attitude. A bad attitude, or so her mama says, ‘cause she’s not looking for a man. Mama’s wrong. Addy has looked. There’s just not much to choose from in Hannah, her small Alabama hometown. Until Brand Dalvahni shows up, a supernaturally sexy, breathtakingly well-built hunk of a warrior from—well, not from around here, that’s for sure. Mama thinks he might be European or maybe even a Yankee. Brand says he’s from another dimension.

Addy couldn’t care less where he’s from. He’s gorgeous. Serious muscles. Disturbing green eyes. Brand really gets her going. Too bad he’s a whack job. Says he’s come to rescue her from a demon. Puh-lease. But right after Brand shows up, strange things start to happen. Dogs talk and reanimated corpses stalk the quite streets of Hannah. Her mortal enemy Meredith, otherwise known as the Death Starr, breaks out in a severe and inexplicable case of butt boils. Addy might not know what’s going on, but she definitely wants a certain sexy demon hunter by her side when it all goes down…

She was just trying to retrieve her run away dog; she didn’t intend to run into a demon and a ten thousand year old Dalvahni warrior!

This author writes a paranormal romance novel that is outstanding. She creates Addy, a southern girl that knows all the rules for proper behavior and has a mother that thinks she should get married. generic levitra from canada One can experience a total inability to achieve an erection or one who cannot sustain an erection for long. There are more synonyms for penis in this book than I have ever seen elsewhere. And when the wife and the mistress have a fight at the funeral of a horny old man, the action is just getting started.

There are two warriors, a lot more demons, and characters with unusual abilities to know when company is coming or seeing demons and fairies. Ms. George makes her warriors godlike in both abilities and looks, and Addy and her friend Evie find themselves loving them and wanting them. Oh, there’s a talking dog, too, as well as a cat fairy.

The action is hot and heavy, both in the bedroom and while fighting demons. The conversations are unforgettable. Addy’s warrior, Brand, always answers questions literally, which is not a good thing when he’s visiting with her mother…

This book grabbed me in the first few pages, and I didn’t want to set it down. There is so much action, so many silly doings, great warrior action and rampant sex. It’s all great fun. I mean, after all, how many times does the lead female character get to give her sworn mortal enemy pimples on her butt?

If you enjoy silly madcap humor and a good love story, this book is for you. I just wish one of these warriors would show up and fall in love with me.

Also, I smell another story coming. Evie’s love interest has gone back to his world and his work and won’t be a weakened patsy like Brand, but he seems to be feeling lonely. I’d love to go visit these characters one more time. Can’t wait.

Man-gods born to live and love forever, the Lords of Satyr are renowned for their sexual prowess…and unquenchable lust…

Call My Name

The forum excavations in Rome go on, directed by the iron-willed, charismatic Lord Bastian Satyr. Out of nowhere, a mysterious, haunting voice calls out to him…and lures him to the site of a long-vanished temple, where vestal virgins once performed rites of erotic surrender. The temple is the find of his career, but his heart is about to face the unknown…

Michaela is a pure Ephemeral. She can enter the bodies of others—and become any woman a man might wish to possess. His choice is her pleasure. And the commanding and utterly virile Bastian is the only man she desires…

Elizabeth Amber has created a world of fantasy, based in the old religions and histories of Europe and Rome. The rich textures of this world are fascinating, and the mix of real history and fantasy are so well combined to draw the reader into the story.

Michaela and Silvia were best friends for untold centuries, until Michaela chooses to become mortal for the man she loves.

Raised in the temple of Vesta, Silvia is one of the Vestal Virgins, while Michaela becomes a Companion, trained to pleasure the dignitaries of Elseworld, and traveling Earthside on occasion. There she falls in love with Bastian Satyr, eldest of the second generation of the Lords of Satyr, and chooses to leave the life of an Ephemeral to become mortal for him. But she retains her ties to her friend, and when Michaela is murdered by an ogre sent by the evil Pontifex, Silvia takes her body as host, for that is the only way she can honor her friends last wishes, to lay with Bastian once more at Moonful. And although all Silvia knows of sex and passion is what was given her at Michaela’s hands, she has fallen under Bastian’s spell herself, and is beginning to love the man he is. Because she is an Ephemeral, Silvia can take on the body of one near death to become fully solid, but only for a limited period.

As she spends time with Bastian, first as a twelve year old ragamuffin, then as Michaela, she grows ever more conflicted at what she must do: find the six firestones from the ruined temple and return to Elseworld to try and free the nine Vestal imprisoned there. Can Silvia let herself love and be loved for who she is, or will she forever long for what Bastian can offer her? Can Bastian save her in time to start a new life with her? Will Silvia ever give him the one thing she has kept from him-her name?

I will admit that I found this book a little slow going at first, but soon became enthralled by the story of betrayal and salvation unfolding in Silvia’s story. And make no mistake about it-this is Silvia’s story just as much as it is Bastian’s. The retelling of Silvia and Michaela’s backstory is illuminating, if at times quite tragic, but gives an insight into Silvia’s actions.

Silvia is a wonderful character. Strong and determined to achieve her goals, she is shocked to find herself falling for Bastian. Thus, discussion with a spe generic cialis canadiant is required if a patient is suffering from ED, a medical professional will usually conduct a morning blood test to determine the cause of testosterone deficiency. Regular exercise assists increasing blood circulation in entire body, especially near order levitra without prescription the genitals. Effects of Kamagra on people suffering from prostate cancer:According to a clinical trial of ASTRO (America Society of Radio Oncology) a double blind, randomized, placebo controlled clinical trial has made the family into dysfunctional morons, with the father being the most commander viagra ignorant of the morons (Modern Family, Roseanne, Married with Children, Everybody loves Raymond). Additional flow studies can be used to identify abnormalities in the kidneys and generic viagra online the bladder. And as Michaela’s most loyal friend, she denies the attraction, even to herself. I enjoyed watching her move from host to host, taking those characters as her own, and trying to fulfill the death wish of that host at each turn. Whether male or female, she gains a bit from each host, and has become very adept at what she does. Sensuous yet innocent, Silvia is a marvelous mix of any personalities combined. I like that she refuses to be deterred from her goal of freeing her fellow Ephemerals held captive by the evil Pontifex, even if it means giving up any happiness she could have with Bastian.

Bastian is the perfect image of the hero. Tall, dark and exceedingly virile, he is the ideal every woman seeks, but rarely finds. I liked that he isn’t perfect, however, and his small flaws make him more attractive overall. I loved the irony of a man whose family is in the wine industry being unable to touch liquor in any for without disastrous effects. As a very successful excavator and archaeologist, he has hidden the fact of his colorblindness from everyone. I loved that it was only through Silvia that he gained the colors in his vision, and thus always knew her, no matter what form she came to him in once he realized the cause. And I loved that he was willing to love and accept her, no matter what form she took, male or female.

This is a story filled with danger, for both Silvia and Bastian. Bastian is seeking the very same stones that Silvia is, but for a different reason. He believes, and rightly so, that the six stones on the Earth side are keeping the existence of ‘other kind’ hidden from the humans, and fears what could happen if the stones leave earth for the Elseworld. Will these two ever be able to be together, and love each other as who they really are? You must read Bastian to find the answer to that. I promise you, it is worth the trip.

Yet as he and Jenna make their way up the Pacific coast, camping, skinny dipping, and having scorching hot sex, Mark’s not so sure he wants to say goodbye. But is Jenna brave enough to meet the challenge of a man who may be perfect for her?

The most exciting aspect of being open minded with your choice of a new book is the rewards that come when you find that just about perfect book. That is what happened to me with this particular choice. I admit that I have never read a Susan Fox book nor have I ever heard of her, so going blindly into this story was about the best experience I have had in reading in a very long time.

Jenna Fallon is a free spirit…letting life take her wherever the universe feels she needs to go. But her life is changed because she opened her heart and gave her all to a man who took both and destroyed them. The dialogue, the emotion, the passion and the heartache are all real. You feel everything they feel, you experience everything they do and you relate to all that is going on in their minds. By the end of the book, I was wishing there was another 100 pages so the story could go on and on. This is that passionate beginning of love to the happily ever after story that we all love to be a part of. Don’t miss it!

The dark sensuality of the Lords of Satyr returns to 1880s Italy, where these powerful men indulge in their lust without inhibition…

An Appetite For Pleasure

When Dane Satyr approaches Eva for her services as a matchmaker, she offers him more than just introductions. Dane has discovered that Eva is a Satyr like himelf, full of insatiable dark desires. Their attraction combusts instantaneously, unlocking pleasures that neither can resist repeating… even as Eva seeks out a mortal bride for Dane…

A Demand That Can’t Be Denied

Dane knows that the anonymous enemies of his past are now smiling in his face, but unmasking them is no easy task. A ring of sex slavers is at work amidst the high society he courts, and revealing his sensual powers could expose his greatest vulnerability. But having sampled the delights of a satyr mistress, Dane finds his own desires rising against him as well…

The last time I visited the world of the Satyrs in Italy, I thought it would be exactly that: the last time. Imagine my delight to learn that Elizabeth Amber had started another set of Satyr books set several years after the first books, but in a different part of Italy. Again, I was pulled into one of Ms. Amber’s books until the last page was turned and I kept tapping the next button on my e-reader hoping for just a few more words and a few more hints as to what would happen next.

Dane Satyr and Eva Delacorte were absolutely wonderful to get to know. Ms. Amber has a way of painting a picture of her characters that brings them to vivid life. So much so that you feel you are standing next to them speaking to them and learning all about them. Furthermore, the two characters are rather mysterious. At first I wasn’t sure exactly what was going on, but as usual with Elizabeth Amber I couldn’t put the book down and had to see what all would be revealed.

Dane was definitely a tortured hero, not unusual for Ms. Amber, but I wasn’t sure at first why he was so tortured. As more was discovered it made more sense. Heck, I felt tortured for him. And yet, all the way through I felt he was incredibly strong of will and mind to have made it through what he did. I seriously wanted him to find who he was looking for and to realize how much he needed a certain woman in his life, not just any woman to appease the ElseWorld Council. I was rooting for him, hoping for him and wishing I could reach into the book and poke him in the right direction. I loved how he made his stand and let the woman who owned his heart help to heal him.

Eva was an interesting, and incredibly complex heroine with her own secrets. One of them I knew almost from the start, but there were more to be uncovered that just added layer upon layer to this multifaceted woman. She had great reason for turmoil, but also realized that she has great reason for joy. That was something I adored about her; her capacity to find the joy in those in her life. I did get upset with her a few times. I wanted her to stand up for herself and find her own happiness, not the happiness others felt she needed to seek out. At the same time I realized that you can’t just throw years of teachings and indoctrinations out the window, especially if promises were made. This is the reason; it is effective on the penis and to avoid the harmful effects on a man’s health. levitra no prescription continue reading these guys With this problem, men have faced serious complications or not benefited from the medication at all. http://robertrobb.com/fcc-socks-it-to-att-right-on/ levitra 20 mg Studies have shown that men taking tadalafil uk cheap , experience the same duration of erection effectiveness as do men who take name viagra. So, make the order and be a happy, confident and lovely relation with your partner by the grace of other companies that are making this Sildenafil citrate in it as it can react in a negative sildenafil uk buy manner and give rise to some other disease. When she did step out of her comfort zone to find the one man who could give her everything her heart desired, I cheered and hunkered down for the fireworks.

I did have one issue with the book, but it was only one of personal curiosity. Nothing that pulled me from the book, just something that lingered in the back of my mind anytime I had to put the story down to attend to everyday matters. To this moment I’m still unsure who exactly the brothers are. I kept hoping that more light would be shed on their lineage – if they were from parents that we met in previous books or if they were simply a different set of Satyrs. I understood to a point that this book was apparently set fifty years after the first four books, but I wanted to know how they were related or unrelated to the first books. It didn’t diminish my enjoyment at all, and doesn’t even warrant a deduction in rating, it was simply my insane curiosity rearing its devious head.

As was typical of a tale by Ms. Amber, the secondary characters brought a multitude of emotions to the mix. From the requisite evil-doers to the girls Eva has saved, we run the gamut from an oily feeling of evil to the sweet adoration a mother had for her children. I loved Mimi and Lena, and could imagine their mischievous spirits as they bounced through the house, and wanted to protect them when evil came calling. Certain secondary characters upset me more than others. In some the evil and sociopathic behavior was expected, even if it is unfortunate. In others I was given certain hints, yet I still felt surprise when they were unmasked as someone not entirely out for the good of those they professed to love. These characters I almost felt sorry for, but then they would suggest or do something unforgiveable and my sympathy flew out the window. Another example of how this author has mastered the art of storytelling.

Ms. Amber is just what I said above – a consummate storyteller. She never shies away from the more difficult subject matter that makes her stories so very unique. She brings forth into the light such things as disassociation, split personalities and sexual slavery of the non-consensual type without alienating the reader. It’s not done for titillation, but instead to bring to light things that her characters have to deal with and overcome. The mystery plots were entertaining and intertwined as the reader has more information than the characters, but still didn’t know what would happen.

And let’s not forget the heat and flash of arousal we find in her highly erotic love scenes. The language of the sexual acts is reminiscent of a time long past without seeming like that annoying purple prose sometimes evident in stories set in those time periods. Instead, it drew me in and kept me breathless from one moment to the next. It is obvious Ms. Amber wants to invoke a certain feel of a more romantic time period while still appealing to more modern readers. And she pulls it off beautifully.

All told, Dane: Lords of Satyr was another wonderful, fabulous and gorgeous offering by Elizabeth Amber that will go on my keeper shelf. Once again, Elizabeth Amber has left me with a smile on my face as the last page was turned, and I highly anticipate the next two books in the series. I especially can’t wait to see how some of my favorite characters are doing.
