This is an interesting short story about how three people who work exceedingly well together come together in a ménage. I really liked how both Grey and Barrett were different men – Barrett the dominant, strong-alpha type of character and Grey the caring-but-disorganized style of guy. Each type of character are tried-and-true hero material and it was quite refreshing that the set-up wasn’t two alpha-males sharing a woman – or one alpha and one submissive. This difference made me feel as if the very-well-used plot (three people working well together moving that business relationship into the bedroom) was fresh and looked at from a different angle. And this freshness helped me enjoy the book immensely.

I felt the story lagged a bit at the start. I love short stories, but the pacing is critical to my mind. The action – and sexual chemistry – needs to move quickly so I don’t feel like there’s wasted time in the story. When you have a shorter length to work with, having a whole chapter of “set up” or background can sometimes have me feel as a reader as if that groundwork is wasted. I knew from the first couple of pages that Laura, Grey and Barrett worked really well as a team in their business. I wanted to read how they moved that professional relationship into a romantic one – and a whole lot of backstory didn’t serve that purpose to my mind. I found myself rushing, wanting to get to where Laura finally made a move and the threesome started to change the dynamics of their relationship.

The sex scene between the threesome was deliciously hot and explicit, well worth the wait to my mind. I loved how all the threads of the plot were woven seamlessly together, leaving me with a feeling of a solid story fully closed and a satisfying Happy Ever After ending. I definitely feel like the story ended on a high note and one that left a smile on my face.

And Lucky might have wanted more from Cannon immediately, but his patience really appealed to me. Instead of trying to corner Cannon or manipulate him into a deeper connection, he was willing to tempt his lover instead. This really appealed to me and made for an excellent story. I was satisfied with the Happy For Now ending and a part of me hopes there might even be a sequel or more stories to come with these two interesting and complicated characters.

Similarly, the plot of the book was captivating and well-woven to my mind. I loved the intricacy – the double-plays and sneakiness of how nothing is ever as easy as it seems when it comes to police work. I really commend the author on an amazing job of balancing the intrigue and suspense of Cannon’s work with his anticipation and slow fall from lust into love with his romantic life. These two aspects of the book blend really well and made it a pleasure for me to read.

I found this to be a well-woven, interesting and complicated story with some really steamy sex. I loved both Cannon and Lucky’s characters and would eagerly read more of them both. Recommended.

A few months ago Dillon was just your regular guy. Now he’s running away from deceptively normal looking people who are secretly assassins and trying to kill him and Marc – Dillon’s assassin lover. I realised in the first chapter this was one of those wonderful books where you need to throw logic out the window and leave your brain behind at the door – if my assassin-lover told me to drop everything and run and trust no one, I’d have not then gone and made friends with the little old lady sitting next to me on the train! But just like I don’t want a James Bond film for the intricate plot or deep intelligence, neither would I have found this book half as wonderful had it not been so lighthearted, fun and fast paced.

Despite the fact I realised a little too late this is the second book in a series, the author does an amazing job of catching the reader up on what’s been missed. Dillon and Marc might get together in the first book – but here in the second they’re really exploring their new relationship, bumps and all. Marc – being an assassin – has a few gaps when it comes to Relationships 101, and Dillon sometimes struggles to both understand what Marc means when he says, but also what he leaves unsaid. Marc is a clear “actions speak louder than words” guy, but that doesn’t mean Dillion doesn’t need to hear the words as well. It’s an interesting – and very common – relationship problem and was lovely and realistic to read.

Watching these two men come together, learn about each other and grow together is lovely. I also really enjoyed the plot of how to save themselves from Julio unwound. I felt the pace of the book moved well and I really enjoyed the balance between plot and steamy romance.

A sexy romp of a story, I really enjoyed this book. I’d happily look up any future books and definitely recommend it.

Like other “Confessions” style stories, this is told in the first person, written almost as if Virginia is cosied up next to you on the couch, glass of bubbly in one hand as she talks and shares her thoughts, feelings and secrets with you. I found this to be a lovely style to read, first-person narration doesn’t bother me, but I can easily understand how as a story-telling method can grate after a while. I found myself really wondering what some of the other characters were thinking and feeling. How they might be reacting to various things that happened to and around Virginia.

I also felt – especially at the start of the story – Virginia was telling me a lot of stuff as a reader, as opposed to having the author show me through actions, discussions and other methods. In places it really felt to me like a massive info-dump. Normally this really annoys me and drags me out of the story. I found here though that to a point I could accept it – having Virginia “talk” to me as the reader in the first person meant I found I had a bit of patience for the info-dumping. I could well believe this might annoy some other readers though.

I really enjoyed Virginia’s friends. I found them to be strong characters, full of life and vibrant. I also really enjoyed Jonathan Carter, the handsome stranger to whom Virginia found herself pulled to. Virginia and Jonathan played a very interesting game of cat and mouse between them. I found the pace a little off-beat – it was far too slow to my mind for a modern erotic romance, but was clearly a steamy, sensual and interesting dance that played out between them. Readers looking for a quick, physical romance might find themselves disappointed.

Despite being frustrated, I could genuinely appreciate the slower burn the author worked between Virginia and Jonathan. They verbally parried and the chemistry between them really sizzled. There were a number of steamy kisses and oodles of chemistry. Oddly though, for an erotic romance, there wasn’t a single sex scene in the whole book, and when I’d finished this lack of erotic intimacy really surprised me. There was plenty of sexy talk, plenty of chemistry and kisses and angling toward the bedroom, but no actual culmination. Again, for an erotic romance this might frustrate some readers who find it all tease and no follow through. I loved the chemistry between Virginia and Jonathan. I enjoyed their interactions and sparring and am hoping there might be a sequel in the works continuing their romance and relationship.

I found this to be a different and interesting story. There are plenty of deep, complex and vibrant characters and enough alcohol and parties to satisfy any fashionista. A good story with sizzle and romance. Readers who enjoy the “confessions” style of stories – or who like Sex And The City will probably find this a good book to pick up.

This is a really interesting book. I liked how for a refreshing change both Nate and Julia have been seriously hurt by each other – there’s not just one wounded party here. They each need not only to forgive each other, but also admit to their own faults. I found in regards to the romance side of the plot, this made for quite a complicated story. There’s no real “bad” person in their relationship – they’re both equally to blame for different reasons. There’s a mountain of secrets, unresolved feelings and conversations that should have been done long ago. All of this is like a huge weight between the two of them. And this, along with a complicated, interesting assassination plot is what is explored through most of the story. I don’t feel readers looking for a solid, already-together couple, strong in their romance and facing their issues together will enjoy this. For the majority of the story – even though Julia and Nate have sex a number of times – there’s so many secrets, omissions and unspoken feelings looming between them they can’t trust each other and continually expect to be let down by one another.

While really interesting and deeply emotional, I found personally it was all tinged with sadness. I can fully appreciate how far both Julia and Nate need to come to reconcile, but I didn’t find it romantic or sexy how Julia just always expected Nate to lie or let her down. How when Nate wasn’t walking away “to keep Julia safe” he was expecting her to leave him. It lessened the impact of their growing relationship and any romance the story held for me. There were good reasons for everything that occurred, the author did an amazing job of explaining all the misunderstandings, and a few of the plot twists revolving around Julia and Nate’s job were really fantastic. But personally, when I read a romance story I want the emotional connections to be steeped in romance. In any good romance one would always expect conflict and problems – and had Julia and Nate started to trust each other when they escaped the first assassination attempt, had they made significant progress toward mending their relationship bridges and had there been more hope than distrust I’d have loved this book a hundred times more.

Having said all this – readers who prefer an edgier style of romance story, readers who like proper conflict, deep-seated issues of distrust and a long, hard road to relationship recovery should find this an amazing story. Both the hero and heroine really have to work HARD for their Happily Ever After – and readers who crave these stories should find this a wonderful read, good and long with plenty of plot twists to sink your teeth into. I personally found no fault at all with the plot/action side of this story. Complicated, twisted and with plenty of surprises I loved the clear thought, planning and depth the author put to this story. There is much to really enjoy and commend to this story and one I can happily recommend to certain readers.

Misty, in contrast, seemed to doubt herself a lot and that was a little disappointing to me. While I loved her raunchy, sexy thoughts, she didn’t initially have the self-confidence to either speak the thoughts aloud, nor take the initiative in their physical relationship. This is a change from many of the more modern romance heroines – who usually know exactly what they want and own their sexuality. I felt this made Misty come across as both more realistic but also not as strong as I usually enjoy characters to be.

The sex scene is deliciously descriptive and quite intense. I was grateful we’d been given a good and – to my mind at least – clear understanding of Adam’s character. His intentions were good and he truly loved Misty. Without this knowledge some of his actions might have seemed slightly over the top – but I think after all the champagne Misty drank and Adam’s deep love of all things photography his actions balance out for the better. While there’s plenty of naughty thoughts flying around and some seriously steamy sex, the romance and emotional connection between Adam and Misty seemed real and solid to me.

I found this to be an enjoyable, fun and sexy Valentine’s Day story, one that was lovely to read. I’ll happily read more books by this author.

Etienne Gagnon barely made it out of Syria alive during his last special forces assignment. All he wants is a little R&R in the apartment he shares with his sister. I found this to be a funny and lovely story. While Etienne is good at languages he’s not yet learned much English. And Genevieve – despite choosing to stay for a month in France has almost no French skills at all. So their initial interactions were funny and difficult to say the least! Initially I thought the fact Etienne and Genevieve struggled to communicate would frustrate me, but I found it actually made the story all the more sweet. The author did an amazing job of showing me how they interacted and learned to communicate together and keep it interesting and fresh at the same time. Of course there were small issues when they didn’t understand each other properly, or when someone else tried to interpret for them and there were miscommunications, but this just added to the story.

The sex was both steamy and sweet. I found the lack of verbal communication helped keep a sort of elemental understanding between Etienne and Genevieve. They had to show through actions, kisses, touches and simple words what they wanted and where their emotions and desires were at. Cutting out so much of the verbal sparring and posturing that happens so regularly really kept this story clean and simple. And I found I really thoroughly enjoyed it.

I found this story different and lovely. Sweet but still erotic and enticing, this was a very different kind of story and I really enjoyed it. Recommended.

This is a fun and quick read. I enjoyed reading about the Festival of Colours and enjoyed both Jaye and Tim, but also Jaye’s two Indian friends. Seeing everything new through Tim’s point of view was a great way for the author to be descriptive without information-dumping too badly. I enjoyed learning bits and pieces of Indian culture, but a large portion of the middle of the book was steamily filled up with Tim and Jaye having sex and enjoying one another. I found the sex to be hot and descriptive, but very romantic and emotional as well. Personally, I didn’t find anything the least offensive or extreme and would think that most modern romance readers won’t find anything too outrageous with this M/M romance.

I found the ending a little unrealistic – but it was so happy and so romantic and deeply satisfying I was quite happy to disengage my brain, ignore logic and just enjoy it. Readers who hate cliché’s or stories where Fate steps in and magically fixes everything might be disappointed, but readers who can just relax and enjoy the happy ending should find this satisfying. Tim and Jaye so clearly love each other – even with their age difference – that it was a pleasure to read about them coming together and starting a lovely, sensual relationship.

A fun book with interesting cultural tidbits and a good bit of traveling fun. This is a steamy M/M that I really enjoyed.

This is an interesting “snowbound” style book. I found both Renata and Noah’s characters to be layered and complex, which was a big help since the book really did center around them with very little supporting cast. I found the “two steps forward one step back” style of the story a little frustrating at times. While it was perfectly understandable both Noah and Renata were a little prickly – they both have pasts and in their own way were running from their lives and themselves – after the first few times of one of them cutting off or shutting down on the other it got a bit repetitive. It was clear they were both interested in each other, and while Noah was prickly and secretive and Renata had been burned in the past they seemed to run very hot/cold with each other and this sent plenty of mixed signals – to each other but also to me as a reader.

Readers who like a slower pace with plenty of give-and-take between their hero and heroine should find this to be a good read. I thought there was a good length to the “getting to know you” period between Noah and Renata and they each shared plenty of themselves and their history while the attraction grew steadily between them. The only real conflict was the sometimes prickly interactions between them when one or the other closed off a bit emotionally. The plot was very character-centric – more than the first half of the book revolved around them learning about each other while snowed into the cabin. There was also only the one sex scene, so readers wanting a bit more spice might find this slower pace and less physical style of romance a bit slow. I personally found it satisfying, but not overly descriptive so I feel it shouldn’t be too much for most sweeter styled romance readers.

Overall I really enjoyed this story. For the most part I liked both Renata and Noah’s characters and while I got a little frustrated with them both a time or two it was a real pleasure to read about them finding love together and filing the empty place in each other’s lives.
