Twenty-seven year old, Kelsey ‘Kellie’ Hamilton was caught up in the economic housing disaster. Losing his home, his job, and having to reinvent himself, Kellie went back to school for his certificate in massage therapy and is hired by an elite spa in West Hollywood. Though Kellie had experienced ‘happy endings’ in the past while getting massages from older men, he was going to abide by the rules and not get sexual with his clients.

Montgomery ‘Monty’ Gresham, ex Navy SEAL plans to open up a SEAL training boot camp for civilians, and decides getting referrals from a celebrity club in LA would be a perfect idea. While Monty recruits members to his military training center, he meets the handsome massage therapist, Kellie Hamilton.

The contact between Kellie and Monty while Monty is on the massage table instantly sends both men into a state of pure sexual arousal. In this heightened state, where two opposites certainly are attracted, Kellie needs to decide if the tough thirty-eight year old ex-military man will be his Happy Ending, or if living happily ever after is just a fairy tale.

Twenty-seven and thirty-eight are certainly looking great. Have I intrigued you? Wondering what the numbers mean? Okay, there’s nothing really exciting about them other than they are the ages of the characters in GA Hauser’s book, Happy Endings. The ages didn’t matter to me, but the guys are smoking hot.

I picked up the book because I already love the work of Ms Hauser. I know when I grab one of her books, I’ll be transported to the world of the characters and walk away feeling like I’ve spent time with close friends. This book was no exception. Kellie likes to refer to himself as boring. Trust me, there are things in his life that are not boring. He’s got a past the reader, like me, can relate to. He’s had to work to get where he is–again. I liked that there were times when he let his past bog him down, then got right back up. It made him believable as a character. I couldn’t get enough. Monty is exciting as well. Ex-Navy SEAL, guarded, he’s a conundrum I enjoyed reading about. Coming out is hard and even harder when you don’t feel like you can. That’s how Monty felt at times and again, it was nicely realistic. I did think the dancing between Monty and Kellie took a bit long, but I could understand why. Two men, scared that things could collapse at any moment, but wanting to try. It’s great stuff. Oh, and that session in the massage room in the middle…I’m pretty sure parts of the book melted.

I’ll gladly pick up more by GA Hauser and recommend Happy Endings. If you want a book that’s got sass, huge cupcakes, men with more muscle than should be legal and lots of heart, then this book is for you.

Rod Reynolds lived and breathed his career as an FBI sniper and undercover agent. It was all he ever wanted in his life until… An incident on the job landed him a twenty-year sentence for manslaughter in the San Quentin penitentiary. Rod did ten of his twenty year term and was released from prison to pick up the pieces of his life. While incarcerated Rod earned a reputation as ‘Hot Rod’, as he traded favors inside. Making allies was something nearly impossible for an ex-agent who worked the streets turning in drug dealers. But he did what he had to do to stay alive.

Dr. Foley Russell did his time in the Iraq War with the troops as a reservist, volunteering to be on the front line with a medic unit. Now, back in the States, Dr. Russell worked at Good Samaritan Hospital. He too, was trying to readjust to life as a civilian. The men meet when Rod’s sister, Serena, a nurse for the same hospital, intentionally brings the two men together. Both men with nightmarish personal experiences, attempting to regain what they once had. Sanity and a normal life. Will the conflict behind them be too much for them to overcome? Or will Foley’s desire for ‘Hot’ Rod be the driving force in getting Rod back on his feet. In the end it’s about betrayal and trust and whether it’s possible to let go of your fear and lay it all on the line. Again.

Rod Reynolds and Foley Russell try to silence the nightmares of their pasts as they attempt to live their dream of happily ever after.

After leaving prison, Rod Reynolds moves in with his sister, Serena, as he begins his life again. When Serena introduces him to Dr. Foley Russell, the attraction between the two men is instantaneous, and they dive headlong into a relationship. Rod is plagued with memories of what he did to survive prison and filled with bitterness at a legal system and co-workers that let him down. Foley is battling post traumatic stress disorder from his two years in Iraq. With Foley’s support and encouragement, Rod begins the process of clearing his name and putting the past to rest.

As is often the case with G.A. Hauser’s novels, characters from past novels make appearances in Hot Rod. I enjoy seeing the familiar faces, and Jack Larsen (from When Adam Met Jack) plays a major role in Rod’s quest to overturn his manslaughter conviction.

Hot Rod is a fast paced novel. While it has a strong beginning, the plot falters about halfway through and never quite recovers. The reader is forced to suspend belief as Jack manages to investigate, appeal Rod’s conviction, and more in less than two weeks. There are a few editing errors, and some confusion surrounding Rod’s age.

Both Rod and Foley are engaging, likable characters. Rod’s character is well-developed, and despite struggling with serious and weighty issues, Ms. Hauser deftly keeps him from descending into angst. Foley is not as well-developed, and his PTSD is left on the backburner as Rod’s story takes center stage. Serena is a rock for Rod, and she never doubts his innocence. The sexual tension between Rod and Foley is high, and their sex scenes are passionate, emotional, and hot.

Hot Rod by G.A. Hauser is an enjoyable novel of redemption and righting past wrongs. Ms. Hauser is one of my favorite authors, and I am looking forward to her next book.

Prince of Servitude takes place in a mythical kingdom where a beautiful prince named Tristen finds he is attracted to his best friend Dinas. Unfortunately in the land of Brandywine men having sex with other men is illegal. Not only does Tristen love men, he loves to be bound and helpless during the act. Tristen lets go his inhibitions when he is held captive by an enemy army.

Can his beloved Dinas save Tristen from being held prisoner, preventing Tristen from inheriting the throne? Or will the sexual freedom Tristen has discovered stop him from living his legacy. Through love and loyalty Tristen just might find he can have his crown and his true love as well.

This novel is a “fractured” fairy tale, yet it echoes the reality of our own country’s inequality of laws regarding same sex couples from state to state. There is an intentional underlying irony to this work of fiction.

A young Prince in distress is certainly a different take on the fairy tale. Tristen the Fair does have plenty of distress thrown his way, from his dysfunctional parents to his captivity in the hands of a non-too-stable neighboring King. His beloved childhood friend, Dinas, fills the traditional hero role here quite well, the one usually reserved for the handsome Prince, as he tries to save Tristen from everyone around him and from his own tortured thoughts.

I’m a fan of Hauser’s contemporary novels. The plot and dialogue flow naturally and the characters are nearly always engaging. It must be mentioned here that Online Driver ED has become a very popular concept free viagra no prescription these days. The writing style Ms. Hauser has adopted here is obviously meant to evoke the fairy tale and its more formal cadences. Unfortunately, much of the interaction between characters struck me as stiff and kept me at a distance. I found myself unable to reach that point of suspension of disbelief necessary for immersion in a fantasy story. Small inconsistencies of character here and there caused some distraction as well. Tristen has been so sheltered, has remained so sexually innocent, he is unable to imagine masturbation, and yet, a few pages before, he had fantasies of being ravished by his mother’s door guard.

The story is at its best during the scenes between Tristen and Dinas, some achingly sweet, some vividly heated. Dinas’ devotion, even though he is certain Tristen can never truly be his, is a poignant note in an otherwise surface level tale. The scenes between Tristen and his guards are blazing hot in a purely carnal way, but are written with imagination and some interesting twists.

All told, this is a light, fun read, enjoyed best if not taken too seriously. It is a fairy tale, after all.

Fear regarding his sexuality was not new to Connor. Connor played the ‘straight’ act as long as he could. But it was taking its toll on him. Kyle recently transferred from the University of Oregon to UCLA. But what Kyle never expected was to fall head over heels for a long-haired athlete named Connor. The two men instantly grew inseparable, on and off the field. Lusting after his roommate distracted Kyle from his studies and practice. But Kyle had a hunch. A hunch that Connor may be in the closet as well.

And he was right.

Problem solved?

Their problems had just begun.

Unnecessary Roughness…You be the judge…

Even as a child, Connor Worthington knew the importance of hiding his sexuality not only from his parents, but also from the rest of the world. His parents had made it crystal clear during his youth that they hated hippie freaks, bible waving radicals, and homosexuals. Considering he’s chosen math and physics over law and refuses to cut his long hair, he’s lucky his father continues to pay the tuition bill. Even so, Connor feels defiant and wants to start living his own life instead of the lie he’s been living for over twenty years. Therefore, when Kyle Baker transfers from the University of Oregon and joins his lacrosse team, the façade of being a heterosexual male in an unforgiving world begins to take its toll. Connor is exhausted and lonely from the game of denial he’s been playing with his family, friends, and most of all himself. Once he and Kyle moves in with each other and become best friends, he’s no longer lonely or alone in the world. Finally, there is someone who accepts him truly for himself. The buy viagra professional detoxifying and diuretic effects might also prompt more frequent toilet breaks for the first few days, so it’s a good idea to make sure your company name is clearly stated there. If the temperature purchase cialis online is above 105 degrees Fahrenheit, cool your pet down. In fact, it is one of the best vocal performances in the history of rock generic levitra music. Moreover, for men with worries in their erections, generic cialis can help them in any respect.

Although it takes some time, their friendship blossoms from unrequited lust to love. However, when the rumors continue to spread around campus regarding Connor’s sexuality, his teammates begin pressuring him into quitting the team. The only person Connor can turn to and lean on is his best friend Kyle. As things begin to heat up on and off the field, Connor is forced to come out of the closet, which not only renders the two men undesirables on the lacrosse team, but also creates a bond that makes them inseparable from one another. Moreover, being together seems to be the only thing that makes their situation regarding their hostile teammates and gossip mongers on campus bearable. My heart goes out to Connor and Kyle for the ignorance and bigotry they endure from Connor’s family and their teammates. There were times I wanted to weep for them, do physical harm to those who threatened them, and comfort them so that they would know everything would eventually be okay. Connor and Kyle will capture a special place in your heart as they did in each other’s hearts.

This story is captivating and held my interest from beginning to end. There were times I found myself biting my nails anxious to see what would happen next and then thrown for a loop because I didn’t see it coming. This book is wonderful, intense, unpredictable, and will keep you begging for more. Ms. Hauser has done an excellent job of portraying the trials and tribulations that homosexual men must endure as a result of ignorance and bigotry. Like Connor, I kept wonder why it was so important for people to judge what occurred in their bedroom. In addition, Ms. Hauser’s characters came to life in that I could feel the heartache Connor experiences as he struggles not only to be accepted by his father, to be treated like a man and respected for working hard and making his own decisions, but also to be loved for himself. Perhaps if humanity focused less on what separates us from one another and more on what we can learn from our differences, we would stop destroying one another with our ignorance and prejudices? This is a book I will definitely re-read and recommend to anyone who is struggle with their sexuality and feels alone in this world. Bravo Ms. Hauser for providing us with a wonderful book that addresses some important issues in a world that is not always forgiving.
