Honestly, these seasonal TBR posts are my favorite topics from Top Ten Tuesday. Don’t tell the other bloggers here at Long and Short Reviews, but I try to request those weeks as soon as they appear. 🙂
I have two fellow Top Ten Tuesday bloggers to thank for introducing me to certain books on this list, so stay tuned for that as well. As usual, I will share the publication dates for titles that aren’t quite yet available to read.

Why I Want to Read It: It looks adorable.
2. Taipei Story by R.F. Kuang
Why I Want to Read It: Trying to become bilingual is hard work, and I enjoy books about that subject.
3. Exit Party byEmily St. John Mandel
Why I Want to Read It: Once I read Station Eleven, she was added to my list of must-read authors.
4. Hollow Bones by Jodi Picoult
Why I Want to Read It: Enough time has passed now for me to enjoy books about 9/11 on occasion.
5. American Hagwon by Min Jin Lee
Release Date: September 29
Why I Want to Read It: This is a chapter in history I know almost nothing about, but I’d like to change that.
6. The Unhaunting by Micaiah Johnson
Release Date: September 29
Why I Want to Read It: Halloween will be here before we know it, so I need to start digging up some scary reads.
7. Every Story Is a Love Story by Imbolo Mbue
Release Date: October 6
Why I Want to Read It: Forgiveness doesn’t always mean reconciliation, of course, but I like it when authors explore the differences between these two concepts as they try to figure out just how much their characters are capable of doing.
8. Castles: A Fortified History of the World by Dan Jones

Why I Want to Read It: I must confess that I wanted to live in a castle when I was a kid. Reading about how and why they were made is the next best thing.

9. Dreamweaving by O.O. Sangoyomi
Release Date: October 13
Why I Want to Read It: Autumn needs a little dark academia if you ask me.
10. Whale Harbor by Mary Beth Keane
Release Date: November 3
Why I Want to Read It: Genealogy-themed mysteries are the best if you ask me because I can think of two mysteries in my family tree that nobody has ever been able to solve. One involved a disabled child who disappeared from home one night and was never seen again. Another one involved an ancestor who was by all accounts a kind and loving husband and father who refused to tell the family anything at all about his past. Since I’ll probably never know what really happened to these two people, the next best thing is to read about other family mysteries that will hopefully be solved!
