A twist to the legendary tale of the Phantom of the Opera, but this time it will have a ending that any romantic would love.

I was very much curious when I first read the synopsis. I have heard so much about the Phantom of the Opera and most of these tales don’t really have a happy ending. Not for me at least. But Miss Chandler has spun a tale wholly different to anything I could have imagined.

Elsa is special. She’s a writer with an ability to travel through time using artifacts such as paintings and rings and such. During one of these travels she brings back the Phantom of the Opera or in other words, she brings back Dante Lucerne to the future with her.

When Dante opened his eyes he has traveled a century to a time period which he can build a new life for himself. He finds that the a lot has happened in a century. Now, he has to learn not only how to talk correctly but also driving and other actions that would make his life easier.

Wandering Soul is a story that’s well known but is also a retelling of a possible future or the ending, I suppose. Phantom of the Opera is a classic and has many different versions, but so far this one is my favorite because there are my two main genres: Contemporary and Paranormal.

For paranormal lovers this will be a treat but for any readers who do not necessarily read paranormal, this book may surprise them because Wandering Soul is what I would call paranormal-light. The paranormal element is there, it moves the story along, but it isn’t the main focus.

Dante and Elsa have a passion that flares every now and then. And during Dante’s “getting to know the future” phase they get to spend a lot of time together and just form a bond that I am pretty sure would weather a lot in the upcoming future. The question that I had in my head while reading was, would they be able to let go of their past to build a future for themselves?

Wandering Soul was a surprise read. The characters, the main and the secondary, had depth and shades that I loved reading about. It had twists and turns that most readers are sure to love.
