By all accounts, Abby Holden has it all. She’s the mother of a beautiful teenager and the wife of a beloved high school football coach. And all it took to achieve her charmed life was her greatest act of betrayal.

Coach Ryan can coax his team to victory, but he can’t seem to make his wife, Abby, happy. Her struggles with depression have marred their marriage and taken a toll on their daughter, Juliana. Although this isn’t the life he’s dreamed of, he’s determined to heal the rifts in his family.

Chasing waterfalls and documenting their beauty has led photographer Lauren Sheppard all around the world. Now it has brought her back home to the mountains of North Carolina—back to the scene of her devastating heartbreak.
Sildenafil citrate works well by relaxing blood vessels, pumping enough blood flow to the penile viagra cialis achat region and eventually leading to powerful erections for men. For the first time in seventeen years, a trio of once-inseparable friends find themselves confronting past loves, hurts, and the rapid rush of a current that still pulls them together.…

Why is it that what we don’t have can overshadow what we do? Where We Fall is a poetic in-depth voice of a family that began because of a secret. The descriptive writing style will pull a reader into the personal mental battle of Abby Holden. The story pretty much focuses on where 38-year-old Abby falls and how she must address and confront her past to get back to living.

Abby’s depression held her and her family hostage from achieving true family happiness. The depression put a wedge between Abby and her teenage daughter Juliana and made her dedicated husband pretty much a single father. The plot is one that will hopefully catch the reader from the very beginning and with the writer’s talent for story telling as well as building the suspense it should also keep the reader entertained.

I enjoyed the story and how it was delivered. This was a story that made me think and wonder… could things have been handled differently? When all the secrets were revealed it brought about a question of what could the characters do now? The past laid heavily on Abby’s heart but was she entirely the one to blame? Her best friend and Ryan’s college girlfriend, Lauren, is the one that place the pieces in position but when events turn out not to be in Lauren’s favor she decided to keep on her personal path to travel the world chasing waterfalls.

I enjoyed the book and would recommend it but I did have one problem with the plot. I liked the story idea of the battle with mental illness but the rooted reason for Abby’s descent really didn’t seem to be a reason to make her marriage and relationship with her daughter suffer. No, she couldn’t have won the best friend award but if the love between Ryan and Lauren was so deep and connected why did Lauren chance leaving in the first place? Then she returns many years later with the same love for Ryan in her heart and disappointment and hurt for Abby. Lauren left; did she think Ryan would put his life on hold until she finished living?

Ryan was my favorite character because he is a man that is dedicated to family and the young boys on his football team. He is the one that seemed to have it together. I didn’t like Lauren because she seemed to be lost and not know what she wanted when she was younger and now that she is older she is under the assumption that she still loves Ryan, but people change. Lauren is more naive now than she was when she left after graduating college. Juliana, Abby’s daughter seemed immature or either spoiled. In her forbidden relationship with football player E.J., she was pushy to have relations with him and in regards to her mother she didn’t seem to understand that her mother needed help.

This may not be a happy read.  In fact it has a desolate flow but the ending made the book worth reading.

Jake Helman is an officer on the New York Homicide Task Force and is on the hunt for a serial killer. Even though he is deep in the middle of the investigation of unsolved murders that doesn’t stop Jake’s cocaine addiction. In fact it seems to escalate it. Where is the old Nick?

The book started off grabbing my attention but as the story starts to unfold the plot gets so murky with too much going on it makes the story lose it’s momentum.

The suspense and action is consistent through out the book but with a story that has a compelling plot of soul stealing, witch-like-zombie bodies along the downtown side walk, a mysterious pharmaceutical genetic business owner, anti-cloning, Marc Gorman with his multiple identities there was just too much being touched on in this novel. I would have liked to know more about Jake and how he ended up on drugs, or more about Marc Gorman how he got started in bleeding souls. A few topics were touched on but there wasn’t an in depth story built to have the reader relate to or come to know a main character that will have a series of stories to follow after this book.

I wouldn’t classify this as a true horror. It just wasn’t scary to me; more along the lines of an intricate paranormal plot twist within a complex and fast paced novel. This is a good story but wasn’t presented in a masterful style that built a memorial main character and the plot structure wasn’t set to keep the story going because the climax touched on so many things.

The writing is a engrossing thriller that shows the imagination and darkness of the author. This wasn’t a five star horror for me but the action and suspense are factors that kept me reading.

Struck by lightning…claimed by shadows.

Caught in a terrible storm, Gwynneth is struck by lightning. She wakes in the hospital with a vague memory of a mysterious stranger. Following her release, the stranger visits her at will and offers Gwynneth a gift—one that will stay the hands of death. She is uncertain whether Julian is a savior or something sinister… for as he shares more of this gift, his price becomes deadly.

Gwynneth Reese is a young lady living with her childhood friend Seth. She is recovering from a bitter break with her boyfriend and decides she needs a change of scenery. In that change from being a painter she took a job at a local retirement home. An emotional wreck on her way home during a thunderstorm in the area, Gwynn is struck by lightening.

This is a different kind of ghost story.

The characters were enjoyable to read about but also had weird characteristic that brought interest to the story. Gwynn is going through all this but is being so secretive. Seth cooked through out the entire book but found it hard to express his feelings for Gwynn. Fenton, Gwynn’s co-worker and friend, I like his humor and I truly understand why he was a sucker for a free meal. Who can turn down good cooking? Dante was a weird funeral home guy that played his stereotype creepy part very well. Great characterization on the part of the author.

The story had my interest as in I wanted to know what would happen but it wasn’t one I couldn’t put down; more like I did a sigh when I saw I still had quite a bit left. I give the author praise in the details in letting the reader know the scenes and the visual view of the characters and also praise for storytelling but a minus for not telling the details of the story where it counted or needed details to give the story balance. Like for example how did Julian come to be? What brought him to Gwynneth and I never could understand what was it he or the shadows wanted. After reading the ending I felt cheated as a reader. Gwynn closed the port. Where are the details of how she closed the port? The author has giving minimum details of trips taken with Julian but then to close the book there is only telling and no action of how Gwynn ends all this fiasco. Don’t get me wrong this is an original plot for me and I was excited to read it but it didn’t keep the sizzle.

Another point that stands out is the translator translated Hannah’s diary but then call Gwynn back to tell her more. Was the diary a series? It just seemed out of place to call Gwynn a second time after he already translated the diary. Julian I couldn’t figure out; the shadows either. I was left at the end wondering what was the point or reason of Julian and the shadows.

The plot, set-up, the writing all were good and helped me finish the book but there was just too much left missing to give it a higher review score.

Struck is an original story that is well constructed, where the author displayed good writing skills and a talent for telling a good story. A creepy, alive story, it is that will have you looking over your shoulder and under your bed. This entertaining and vibrant story includes interesting characters as well as showcases many sweet and caring relationships.

On the Kentucky frontier in 1810, ambitious men struggle for power over a young, gritty society based on slavery. Ruthless planter and politician David Morgan chooses his young servant Phyllis to gather information on his friends and rivals from other slaves. He also finds her a husband, the love of her life. She develops a keen sense of observation as well as knowledge that there is more to the world beyond the isolated valleys and a system that regards her as property. Despite her warnings, Morgan’s fortunes wane and she and her husband and their children are sold to Edward Osborn, Morgan’s enemy.
Osborn’s ego and the War of 1812 bring more tragedy into Phyllis’s world. Morgan and his son are murdered, and Phyllis is the only eyewitness to the crimes. Her experience as a spy and her own wits help her survive a lynch mob, but may not be enough to reunite her family.

The story is realistic and heart aching but true to the era.

This book may not be suitable for some readers. Even though the detail description of physical abuse to human was known for this time era, reading about the great length of hardship could be a bit much for some. The author has a talent for telling a story and has no problem getting in to character to tell the story. I was surprised that the male author could portray the feelings, thoughts and experience of a female slave girl. The author gives a day to day account of Phyllis Wallace Lewis, a slave girl working on the plantation of David Morgan. David Morgan is describe to be a fair slave owner, with ambition to be a politician but some how his actions shown in the book didn’t really seem fair, especially since it seemed he was the cause for the hardship brought about in Phyllis’s life.

The story is told in Phyllis’s voice. Her voice tells of her documented journey to her children. Her story was one that is truly amazing but I felt it lacked more about her personal story; a story of her family history of why she was set apart from the others. At the start of the book Phyllis’s mother was present but was later sold off the plantation, leaving Phyllis a orphan. Phyllis pretty much was kept apart from the other slave hands. For this story to have been her voice to her children I would have liked to have read more on her mother and her story. What mother wouldn’t want to tell their children where they came from and who their people are? Phyllis knowingly looked different than the others but no one spoke about her blue eyes and fair skin complexion. Later in the book a brief mention that she was white but not much more was elaborated on who she was, who was her father and she didn’t question who she was; she just accepted that she was different and it didn’t seem to bother her.

The author has a talent for writing and telling a story. I’ve read The Guardian and thoroughly enjoyed that book, but for this one I just want something more to happen. Or maybe too much was happening. The first part of the book tells of Phyllis at a young age, the plantation moving and then settling into a new land. Due to near tragic circumstances, Phyllis is assigned to the kitchen to cook, then she was partnered with Esther to sell produce around the town area and gather information for master David to help him in his political run for office. She marries and then is sold. It’s a life full of crisis after crisis and Phyllis is a strong woman the book depicts her endurance and growth in her Christian journey. Reading Phyllis’s story and seeing her growth from thinking her life would be spent under some one’s thumb and to only see that a slave has no rights except to suffer. Her interpersonal growth she soon realizes there is other forces beyond white men and weather. This is a heart warming story to tell her children about. Passing along her struggle and how she overcame to become the strong woman that her children would know and see her as.

The story is well constructed even though there are parts that kept my interest there also were parts of the book that I found to be slow as well. Phyllis’s journey didn’t so much end with a destination but brought about a memorable life of tragedy, heartbreak, love, lost and in the end forgiveness. This book wasn’t the best to me as a reader but I wouldn’t want to discourage someone from reading it. The journey of Phyllis’s life could be an inspiration to some reader that crisis may rise in life but you can’t give up, you definitely can’t stop fighting and ultimately that forgiving may sometimes bring about freedom.

Amanda Greene wakes up to find herself in a foggy state and as the day continues it only gets foggier. The day begins with her sitting in a history class that she didn’t sign up for to visits from people who haven’t been alive for long time and stories that seems to bring about more confusion than answers.

I wasn’t really sure where the story was going, but the author created a plot that piqued my interest and made me need to finish to see how it all would play out. While I can’t say this is one of my favorite books by this author; compared to prior works I’ve read, this one has a different feel. The plot was not a simple one and I wasn’t sure what the author was accomplishing until I got to the very end of the story and after reading the author’s note.

Honesty, it had almost too many layers. There’s this cloudy back story of Amanda that contains a disturbing flash back to issues with her step brother. The book has an interesting plot, but just didn’t resonate with me. Perhaps another reader will find this “history vs. present day” type plot more enjoyable. The author’s signature writing style is still strong and to be honest, it wasn’t a bad read. With that being said, I realized when I was at the halfway mark that I couldn’t really voice what I didn’t like about the story nor can I really think of any other way to have pulled this story off. It just felt a little too convoluted. But it did make me think about the subject and perhaps that was the point.

The History Major is an original in its genre. The author created rich tapestries of Amanda’s emotional experiences. The story is enjoyable with a mystical level propelled from the author’s imagination and from his belief that we perhaps go to a special place when we die. Readers who like stories that drive the reader to think deep, will find Amanda’s unique journey a pleasure to read.

J.W.’s dog has run off and he has lost his way in the woods until a funny looking man comes from behind a bush with a story to tell about the swamp and it’s history. This swift thriller and wickedly funny satire is short and to the point. Though it may be short, it packs a lot of story. The writing is descriptive and the plot is one that will keep any reader reading. Not for the faint of heart or those who fear spiders and don’t want to read about violent deaths. The author’s writing is vivid and delivers a message of innocent ones who have lost their lives under undesirable circumstances. I do think this is an intriguing and well written story but after I finished the story I was trying to piece together why J.W. is being told the story of Sam Lake. I either missed some connection or it just wasn’t there. If I missed a connection my apology; I would hope that the connection wouldn’t be a complex one to figure out. And if there wasn’t a connection I’m left with a question of what was the point a reader should take away from the story?

There were a few dialogue quotation marks that were in place when a character wasn’t speaking and the sentences were narration.

The author seems to be a masterful storyteller and has a vivid imagination for things unique. This isn’t one I would say that is highly recommend, but I would recommend it to those that enjoy a short mystery that packs a powerful punch. I would read other writings by this author.

When their ship is damaged on the way to Nova Scotia, Josie is thrown into contact with the one man she never expected…the very man she had wanted to see. But will her past catch up with her before Douglas can free her heart?

They met under undesirable circumstances. Josie Freeman is a house slave raised on a plantation, on the run chained to others and finds herself in the helpful hands of Douglas Grier, a local blacksmith. This chance meeting was so brief neither were able to exchange names, but as fate would see to it their paths would surely cross again.

I enjoyed Forged by Love and found it to be an inspiring heart warming book. Josie and Douglas are two people left by blood family in a world that could only see and judge them by the color of their skin. Or so they thought. Love of family doesn’t always have to be from blood kin. Josie and Douglas both were fortunate to have love and a family bond from others that have claimed them as family. Being left by his birth mother Douglas thinks that he is alone with no family. Josie is the daughter of a heartless man that sold her mother. Josie finds her way into Douglas’ heart and by the end of the story they both have more loved ones than they realized. It was so refreshing and really touched my heart the pure love that they had for each other and also how the town stood behind them when they were threaten.

The connection between Douglas and Josie was a pleasure to read. Seeing them build and grow from less fortunate circumstances gave their story a honest, and innocent love that is inspiring to read about. I liked that the author showed them in such innocence and that they waited until they were married to have relations. That made their relationship so much stronger and better that they had self-control.

I didn’t want to stop reading until I knew how their story would end. Close to the end of the book, 91% read my Kindle gave me the battery low alert. I was so caught up and excited to find out the out come, but still a part of me didn’t want the story to end. The author has a talent for writing and telling a story that is sure to capture readers. The plot, the characters are realistic and likable and the time in history just makes the story come together in a perfect formula. My favorite character is Dorothea. She is a young woman that is not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what is right and good.

I would like to read more of the characters on Lobster Cove. This is a book that I would highly recommend for readers that enjoy characters that are against all odds yet they stand forged by love.

This is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed. The description of the neighborhood and characters were so real it is easy to picture the scenes as they are playing out. The plot is one that could be related to true life events. This is an extremely well-written novel which will tug at the conscience of readers as it takes a hard look at the environmental damage of poorly dispose chemical waste. While reading I couldn’t help but think of the water problems that are affecting Flint, Michigan now.

I like how the author set up the plot that parallels to a normal day’s setting; the characters going about their daily routine set the events in motion and helped the events play out as a movie script. The fear of bad weather and how the news casters were broadcasting the threat of bad weather was played out with details that made the threat seem real. The suspense and circumstances of the storm was enjoyable and had me on the edge of my seat and not wanting to put the book down. I like the quick scene changes because it made the book move even faster and I didn’t have to wait long to catch the events for the characters next few moments.

The author’s grim and brooding novel explores the lives of the people of Niagara Falls during a storm as creatures use this time to hunt prey. The characters were true to life. They were funny and the setting for them is real. Poor Paul Goodman, he was the father of the neighborhood being set out to help and look out for all in the neighborhood. A few times I felt sorry for him and if something did happen to him how would his wife feel? They were a close and caring neighborhood that looked out for each other.

Though I enjoyed the story I was left with a question of why the monster kept some humans alive and why others were killed quickly. Their animalistic instincts and traits were those of hunters. I also wondered why at this particular time during the snow storm did they choose to come out and hunt. Either way, the monster were scary to me with their human like characteristics and features and how they moved about the city.

I enjoyed the author’s writing style so much that I will look to see what other books he has published. The writing was clear, descriptive and easy to picture the characters and the scenes. The strong characters made the storyline that much more interesting and there is always something different happening that had me at the edge of my seat.

This is a highly recommended read for those that enjoy a well written suspense that has lively characters, and a great plot.

The thirty-year-old fashion designer has come home to Chicago to start over, this time on her own terms. Amid the lingering sting of betrayal, there’s one bright spot. A renewed friendship with childhood buddy Michael Montgomery.

For years, Michael pretended to be Faith’s husband to fend off unwanted attention, gave her a shoulder to cry on, and cheered the loudest when she left home for fashion school. Through it all, he never stopped loving her.

Time hasn’t dimmed the spark between them, but when another man hits on her, Michael realizes it’s time to stop hiding his true feelings. This thirty-one-year-old professional photographer is ready to pose for his own family portrait—with Faith as his wife.

Warning: Contains a photographer who’s through being pictured in a brother-ish light, and a fashionista who’s not sure her heart is quite mended enough to risk further alterations.

Michael Montgomery has always loved Faith McClendon. And at the age of 13 he proposed his love to her and foretold that she would be his forever and ever. Faith didn’t believe him. Life happened and Faith ended up marrying Kevin Harrington. Faith has returned home recently divorced and Michael finds that his feelings for Faith still remain.

The book started out slow and for a romance novel and was wordy with an overboard of details that made the story too long and drawn out. Later it felt like a build up as I enjoyed Michael loving Faith from a distance. His antics on trying to show her how he felt were adorable. I didn’t like once Faith recognized Michael’s feelings how quickly they acted on impulse. Faith didn’t see Michael as a love interest but when his feelings were revealed they went from zero to one hundred. Yes they knew each other years ago as children and young adults but people change. To me I would have liked to see them get reacquainted not just jump straight into bed.

I enjoyed the family bond and closeness. The family had fun, they are loving and had family traditions. I like the idea of the best dish contest that the family held each year during the Thanksgiving holiday. The women were entrepreneurs and held a strong stance. These factors made the book an enjoyable and inspiring read. The author seemed to write with her readers in mind. Faith had her issues with her prior marriage but eventually was able to let that baggage go leading to her opening her heart to love again. Many readers probably face this dilemma and will find it refreshing to read that there isn’t much opportunity of finding love again unless you open your heart and take a chance. And being the book is a holiday series the author shared recipes that are sure to complete any holiday family gala.

The writing style was easy to follow and the plot was pretty simple but the extra with Kevin gave the story a little twist that I didn’t expect.

Overall this was a pleasant read and one that I would recommend for those that enjoy a strong family bond.

With one suitcase, her laptop, and a box full of books, she leaves L.A. to drive to a new life in a house she’s inherited in Long Island. On the same day, after Northern Californian wildfires burn down the motel where she lives and the bar where she works, Zoe Bradshaw decides to move on again. Her destination, Las Vegas. Maybe. Sharing a car and motel room beds, the two women learn each other’s histories and secrets. Into the Sunrise was a quick well written read that to me showed two strangers that met at the opportune time in each others lives. After their meeting they threw caution to the wind and took a risk to leave their life behind and start anew. What reader hasn’t thought about packing their belongs and seeing where the road leads them?

The writing was easy to follow, nothing really complex about the story. If you are a reader that likes a story that is pretty simple and straight forward, this perhaps may be a story that you will enjoy. One thing I like is a book without a lot of characters and this was a book that fit that bill. Zoe Bradshaw worked as a bartender until wild fires displaced her motel and job. And you have Lorna, who recently left her husband of 18 years. However, the characters lacked true compassion, especially Lorna. She left her husband but the way she told him and her son Dominic was just really weird and heartless. If was odd she wouldn’t talk to them but made an effort to check her emails, text and social media at every road stop, and still her heart remained cold with each reply, if she replied to them at all.

Zoe was on the road to track her run away love. She tracked her down but then the plot fell flat. It left me with a question of… so, what was the point?  The sex was not as hot as I’d expected and hoped for. The plot lacked real conflict. I would have liked to have read about some adventure since they were traveling across county. Maybe some twist or surprise element that may have roughed the smoothness. I am all for a happy ending and everyone finding love, but stir in some spice along the way to make the ending that much better…give the character some trials and tribulations to endure.

Still, as I stated before the book was a well written, easy read. I like the idea that the women were brave enough to take a chance to step away from a life that wasn’t pleasing to them to see what else life had to offer them. I think we often fear the unknown and hesitate to step out of our comfort zone, but this is a story that gives any reader a chance to live through these two women. For readers that enjoy a book that is a refreshing getaway, where they can live through the lives of the characters, this is one that I think would fit that type reader. Their chance meeting was what they each needed. It seems they drew strength from each other and their personalities together made them stronger. It’s encouraging to see the two strange women building a relationship of trust and getting to know each other.

While this story may not have been my favorite, the author has a real skill in telling a story so I would definitely give another book by this author a try.
