I have to say that this is the first book by Rhian Cahill that I have read, but it will not be the last. This book has it all: romance, mystery, danger, and over the top screaming hot sex between two people very much in love. Rowan leaves town a victim, but comes back a survivor, determined to take back the life that was ripped brutally from her six years ago. I loved her sense of humor, and her determination to be with her mate. Quinn is strong and protective of Rowan, but also knows he has to accept that to be with her, he has to take it slowly, and do things her way. He is patient and caring, helping Rowan face her coyote and get comfortable with her inner self after so long without her.
As it becomes clear that all of the danger is not in the past, these two face it with courage, together, and fight for what they want. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, as Ms. Cahill let the suspense of who was behind it all build until the end. I was surprised at who the “bad guy” was in this, I really didn’t see this one coming.
The love is strong between the two main characters, and the sex is frequent and blazing hot. The secondary characters are well defined as well: Rowan’s brother Brogan, the pack sovereign, and Gordie, the town doctor who was Rowan’s best friend before she left.
This is one of those rare books for me; not only did I desperately NOT want it to end, but I have already written to my friends about, telling them this is a must buy book. I recommend this one for anyone who likes hot love stories, with a happy ever after, but with more coming in the future.
