Kyra Soloman has been a successful actress in Hollywood since she was fifteen years old. Now, about to turn thirty, she’s had enough of the scene. She wants to move to New York City and rediscover her love of acting.

Brent Hallow is the new ‘it’ guy in town. He’s recently starred as a vampire in a teenage angst movie. He’s also twenty-four years old, and the fact that Kyra is attracted to him makes her feel very old.

But one hot night at a Hollywood house party will show them both they share more than the love of acting…and the real desire for rough sex as well.

Kyra Soloman is tired of the jaded Hollywood scene. Already the critics have listed her as a has-been actress even though she’s just turning thirty. Kyra’s not ready to give up on acting completely but is definitely ready for a change.

In Behind the Scenes we find a budding romance between character actors Kyra and Brent. Kyra has decided to give up Hollywood and head to New York where she can pursue her love of acting without the type-casting. Knowing all of this, she finds herself wondering why she came to yet another boring Hollywood party. Oh, now she remembers, it was to get a personal look at the newest and hottest young actor, Brent Hallow. Brent captured her lustful imagination ever since she attended the private viewing of his new hit vampire movie. Even though she knows she would never have a shot at a romance with the younger, desirable star, fantasies can fuel many a lonely night.

Brent Hallow has waited all night long to spot his “wet-dream” fantasy gal, Kyra Solomon. Rebecca Royce has accomplished consistent high ranks in the service of writing excellent works in both novel and novella formats. My collection of Ms. Royce’s tales continues to grow as I find myself seeking out her imaginative and creative literary art pieces to add to my climbing stash! She has established herself as one who can conquer multiple venues and still provide entertaining media. I find myself truly looking forward to her next release.

Writing a short-story is a tricky undertaking. It’s very difficult to make a quick-read enjoyable with only so few words to work with. Connecting to the characters and expressing the desired reaction to entice and entwine the reader is a task very few can accomplish in a short story. I felt Ms. Royce did a fine job of doing just this in Behind the Scenes. I enjoyed her two main characters Kyra and Brent, and felt that their fictional reality was realistic and intriguing. This modern-day tale, though short, was extremely heated and sizzled with sensual content. I found myself quickly pulling for these two characters, as well as fanning myself during the love-scenes.
