The Three Graces of Graydon are well–born sisters bearing an ominous curse: any man betrothed to them without love is doomed to die.
Much to her chagrin, Lady Isabel Milton has been given to Earl Rand Braesford—a reward from the Tudor king for his loyalty to the throne. The lusty nobleman quickly claims his husbandly rights, an experience Isabel scarcely hoped to enjoy so much. But youth and strength may not save Braesford from his bride’s infamous curse…

Accused of a heinous crime with implications that reach all the way to King Henry himself, Braesford is imprisoned in the Tower, and Isabel is offered her salvation—but for a price. She has the power to seal his fate, have him sent to the executioner and be freed from her marriage bonds. Yet the more Isabel learns of Rand, the less convinced she is of his guilt, and she commits to discover the truth about the enigmatic husband she never expected to love.

In fifteenth century England, Isabel Milton’s patience and God-given wits had been her only weapons to keep her two younger sisters and herself safe after the death of their father. Her fabrication of The Curse of the Three Graces of Graydon had served them well for a long time, especially after Leon, the court entertainer, had romanticized it in song. However, as a ward of the king, Isabel’s curse seems to have finally failed.

By decree of the king, she is wed to Sir Randall Braesford, a longtime friend and defender of the king. Even though Randall (Rand) is the illegitimate son of the deceased and disgraced Braesford, the king gives all Braesford’s holdings to Rand as a reward for his service as a fierce warrior and a friend. The legitimate son of Braesford William McConnell feels these holdings are rightfully his even though his father was a traitor to the king and stripped of his holdings.

Rand is beset on all sides. Not only must he deal with the treachery of the king’s advisors, he must deal with his vindictive half-brother and with Isabel’s devious step-brother the Earl of Graydon and his less-than-honorable friend Henley who wants Isabel and her wealth for himself. A depressing phase of his life was when he was accused of buy cialis http://deeprootsmag.org/2013/07/08/musical-echoes-of-days-long-past/ child sexual abuse. In spite of all his good deeds and his loyalty to the king, Rand ends up in prison. He has no illusions about how things will most likely end, but it is doubly hard since he has reveled in the passion he aroused in the lovely Isabel. With his expert foreplay and gentleness, her defenses slipped away and her uninhibited and oh-so-eager desire to share love with him had transported both of them to ecstasy again and again until he was ordered from his bed.

Taken to the Tower by none other than his half-brother and Isabel’s step-brother, Rand is almost fatalistic in his submission to the will of God and the king, but Isabel feels a deadly fury about the injustice and is even more furious about those who have pushed the king into taking such action.

Something that is hers has been taken and she wants it back. Using her aforementioned wits and every connection she has with those who have the king’s ear, Isabel, with the help of Rand’s squire David, sets about to outsmart and outmaneuver those who would have Rand hanged and destroy her chance at a life of happiness.

While her husband rages that she is just like the lady spider he watches in his prison cell that weaves her webs in obedience to her own caprice in defiance of her mate, Isobel, free to make her own decisions for the first time in her life, sets out on a mission full of intrigue and secrets that makes for adrenaline-pumping reading. She is a heroine after my own heart—one smart lady!

By His Majesty’s Grace is brimming full of mind-shattering love scenes, clandestine chicanery, court intrigues, and undercurrents of women’s ways and means of swaying the outcome of events that men set in motion in their never-ending struggle for power.

Jennifer Blake’s masterful character development, her ability to weave history into the characters’ lives and her fantastic plotting and love scenes make By His Majesty’s Grace memorable—a tale sizzling with strong emotions. The outcome Ms. Blake brings about is “tinglingly” good.

Being kidnapped is teaching Miss Celia Seaton a few things about life:

Lesson one: Never disrobe in front of a gentleman . . . unless his request comes at gunpoint.

Lesson two: If, when lost on the moors, you encounter Tarquin Compton, the leader of London society who ruined your marriage prospects, deny any previous acquaintance.

Lesson three: If presented with an opportunity to get back at Mr. Compton, the bigger the lie, the better. A faux engagement should do nicely.

Lesson four: Not all knowledge is found between the covers of a book. But an improper book may further your education in ways you never guessed.

And while an erotic novel may be entertaining, the real thing is even better.

I loved the premise of Miranda Neville’s The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton—a fringe ton debutante whose prospects are destroyed by a casually cruel comment of the reigning haut ton’s golden boy finds herself in the unique position to extend payback when the golden boy loses his memory. Celia Seaton is a strong, smart, resourceful woman with a devilish sense of humor. I laughed aloud at some of her fabrications and enjoyed seeing her and dandy Tarquin Compton romp through the Yorkshire countryside. Both Celia and I fell in love with Tarquin as Terrance Fish.

Tarquin’s character was believable with and without his memory. His charm and self confidence battled nicely with his newfound knowledge of how tough it would be on the fringes of high society. He gets the unique chance to look at himself from someone else’s point of view and it opens his eyes to what is important. I enjoyed seeing the transformation.

The romance and Celia’s “amorous education” were fun and titillating, but Celia’s attitudes in the last quarter of the book felt a bit too modern and idealistic for the time. I wanted her to accept life/polite society the way it was instead of contemplating foolish alternatives. Secondary characters shouldn’t have supported ill-conceived ideas. Those ideas were ruinous and should have been addressed as such. I wanted those secondary characters to be a bit more well rounded and realistic.

Still, all’s well that ends well and The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton ended very well.

Truthfully, reading this book was a nice way to spend a cold and windy weekend. By the way, Ms. Neville’s author’s notes made me smile and like the book even more. I recommend reading them as well.

Dangerous passion and primal instincts…

With his sinister good looks, Noah Winston is the one man— a human with Casus ties—who Willow Broussard has never been able to resist. Once enemies, then lovers, Noah broke her heart. Yet the powerful witch and paranormal private investigator can’t turn him away when he needs her help in protecting his family, him—and the world—against their enemy…

As Noah and Willow work together, the secrets of their turbulent past are slowly exposed, each startling revelation drawing them closer. But when the enemy finally makes a move, Noah will need more than witchcraft and magic to survive. He’ll need his friends, one hell of a plan and the undying devotion of a tenacious witch whose love is eternal…

This is the eighth, and final, book in Rhyannon Byrd’s Primal Instincts series, and it was worth the journey.

The final battle to stop the Casus is over, but in the confusion of the fight, the Casus leader, Anthony Calder, was able to escape, with the help of his pet witch. Noah Winston won’t rest until he has stopped Calder once and for all. He also knows it is time to go back to his home town and bring the bad news to people who used to be his friends: Jessie, her niece Willow and Willow’s brother, Harris. What he has to tell them has to be said in person, and even if he wanted to avoid it, they deserve to know that the witch helping Calder is Willow’s sister, Sienna. He also wants to ask Jessie if there is a way to stop the death walkers that were released when the Casus were defeated. And he dreads facing Willow-the only woman he has ever cared anything for, even though he left her all those years ago.

As for Willow, she never got over Noah, either. But Calder wants to take over Noah’s body, and he is determined to get what he wants.

When the sparks rekindle, Noah is determined to protect Willow at all costs, but she isn’t having any of that. But when Willow’s friend, and demon, Damon explains what they need to stop the death walkers, Willow becomes more important than ever. It seems she is part of the solution, and Noah is shocked at what he learns. cialis 5 mg Patients with acute or chronic liver failure undergo this surgery. Can Noah stop Calder and keep his own soul? Will the plan to stop the death walkers work? Is Willow strong enough in her magic to save what she and Noah could have together?

I really enjoyed this world Ms. Byrd created, and I will miss visiting with all the characters that live there. I met some very memorable characters and some very nasty bad guys as well. I did find that most of the villains were not completely evil, but s few were beyond redemption.

Noah Winston is a strong and determined man. As the oldest of three brothers, he understands responsibility, and is determined to prevent Calder from taking him over. I loved Noah’s sensitive side, when he admitted to Willow how he felt about her, how he had always felt. Noah’s real strength is his ability to care and protect those he cares about.

Willow is sassy and independent, and a very powerful witch. She is surprised when Noah shows up after so many years, and is determined not to let him back into her heart; at least until she realizes he never left it. I enjoyed watching as she and Noah became closer, and loved the way she was able to accept that she had to fight for her role in the destruction of the death walkers.

Ms. Byrd does an admirable job of bringing all the varied threads together for this book, and I enjoyed the surprises that arise as Willow and Noah begin to reconnect. There are a couple of tear jerker moments, but they serve to make the happy ever after all the sweeter in the end.

I recommend the complete series to those who like love and adventure and lots of action.

In a world on the brink of chaos, passion and vengeance collide . . .

After six months in hell, Julian Castille has returned to the world a changed man—no longer the calm, powerful CEO, but a shifter fully embraced by the blood of his clan. Julian has one goal: find the key to the portal that stands between the human realm and unprecedented darkness, in order to win back the pieces of his soul. The last thing he needs is a distraction like the beautiful, enigmatic Jaden DaCosta.

Three years ago, a forbidden night of passion left Jaden forever altered: mated to Julian Castille—bound to a man who despises her. But the temptation to trust this darker, more savage—and more captivating—Julian is overwhelming. And as they fight for their immortal souls, their insatiable desire for each other may prove their fatal undoing . . .

Julian Castillo had been missing for three years. He’s back and he doesn’t even care about Jaden. Nor does he seem to know that they have mated…

This is fast paced story about shapeshifters and forces beyond our world. Julian has been in hell, literally, and he has very little time to accomplish his mission here on earth if he wishes to earn redemption. The premise of the story is pure fantasy, but the plot stands up well. There’s lots of action, and you get caught up in the fight between the jaguar clans. The author creates hard-hitting characters with a touch of evil in them. She adds sorcerers and gods themselves to the story. You’ll keep turning pages to see just what is going to happen next. There are constant surprises in the story.

I enjoy reading about animal shape shifters, and jaguars fascinate me. But the real reason this story appealed to me was the romance between these two opposing clan members. They can’t trust each other, but they do love each other even if they are fighting it. They argue a lot and I enjoyed watching them turn from enemies into embracing the love between them.

Ms. Stone has created a complicated plot with lots of little subplots. There will be more in this series, I’m sure. She’s going to pick up one of the strings she left hanging out and work another story from there.

Why not get a copy of this book and maybe the first two in the Jaguar Warrior series? You won’t be bored!

Jesamiah Acorne, Captain of the Sea Witch, has accepted a pardon of amnesty against his misdeeds of piracy. But old enemies do not forget the past. In particular Edward Teach – Blackbeard himself – has a bone to pick with Acorne.

Following an indiscretion with an old flame, Jesamiah finds his fiancée, the midwife and white witch, Tiola Oldstagh, has gone to North Carolina to help with a difficult birth; which is where Blackbeard now resides. He mustn’t discover that Tiola is Jesamiah’s woman. She’ll have to hide her gift of Craft from the black-hearted pirate who has sold his soul to the devil.

With Sea Witch damaged and himself wounded, Jesamiah must take stock of the situation – but arrested for acts of piracy how is he to clear his name, avoid the noose, keep Tiola safe and put an end to Blackbeard – all while being haunted by the ghost of his father?

From the Bahamas to North Carolina and Williamsburg in Virginia Bring It Close moves at a swashbuckling pace. There is intrigue, misunderstandings, romance and adventure – all wrapped up in a blend of supernatural fantasy.

The troubled, guilt-ridden spirit of Charles Mereno (Jesimiah’s father) prowls the pages of Bring It Close striving to set right his many wrong doings during his earthly life. The spirit’s story reveals how Jesimiah suffered because of his father’s faulty judgment and how Evil personified in the person Black Beard came to be.

Jesimiah Acorne and Tiola Oldstagh maneuver to survive as they deal with Evil’s ambassador Edward Teach (Black Beard), a pirate protected by the Devil and controlled by malevolent Dark Powers. How Jesimiah is connected to Black Beard is a dark thread woven into this intriguing tapestry of this tale.

The bright, shining thread in the design is Tiola, the eternal soul of a White Craft witch-woman in a beautiful, young woman’s body. She uses her abilities as a midwife and healer for good. She has to tread cautiously since the people in the early eighteenth century did not deal kindly with witches. Neither would the Dark Malevolencies if they could locate her as the source of light and good that stands against them.

Jesimiah is a variegated thread in the tapestry, somewhat of a chameleon, who fits in with whichever segment of the population he needs to in order to stay alive and prosper. Now a “retired” pirate with amnesty, he still sails into life-threatening situations used by self-serving people who are not concerned about whether he lives or dies just so long as they get what they want.

Jesimiah, a complex character, lives by the pirate code for the most part, but an underlying morality tempers his judgment much of the time. At times he slips and finds himself isolated from his soul mate Tiola, who is his only true comfort. Hold this position for a few seconds they increase and cialis professional uk the tension. His inability to mentally reach her leaves him desolate as he gets into situations that bring him to the brink of death.

The supernatural elements in Bring It Close play major roles. Jesimiah’s father’s spirit, with the help of the old witch woman, crosses the eternal river to return to earth and set right his wrongdoings. His character fills in the back story that led up to the horrific childhood Jesimiah suffered that led to his pirate life. Many things alluded to in the first two books of this trilogy, Sea Witch and Pirate Code, are explained in Bring It Close. Some of the graphic descriptions make one shudder.

Helen Hollick weaves in a multitude of characters, like the durable Alicia, the determined Sam Grant, the tried and true Rue, and many others, as she creates a tale of people struggling to build lives in the New World along the eastern coast of America and the Caribbean. Evil stalks the area and flourishes on the greed and fears of the people. How Good copes, with Evil running rampant, makes captivating reading with adrenaline-pumping actions, dreadful situations, and a love as solid as a rock and as soft and gentle as a sigh. That love is the foundation for Jesimiah and Tiola’s relationship.

The organization and POV changes in Bring It Close were a little distracting for me. At times I felt pulled too far away from the hero and heroine. However, having read the first two books of the trilogy, I loved traveling with Jesimiah and Tiola as they get ever closer to their happy-ever-after.

Ms. Hollick’s incredible ability to weave in history, superstitions, moralistic judgments of the time, unique terms and sayings, levels of society, women’s place in the hierarchy, supernatural elements, and fantasy makes the story rich. Her wonderful descriptions and her spectacular character development make the story throb with life.

Bring It Close is an amazing armchair adventure into the world of pirates and settlers along the eastern coast of America in the eighteenth century.

Once, Jessie Moore had inexhaustible energy for her art, but after this past year, her art – like her life – feels out of focus. Working as a photojournalist at the fledgling Philly Times newspaper with reporter Matt Cleary proves draining after their breakup. When a longtime friend dies of AIDS, Jessie travels to her hometown of Lambertville, NJ. At the funeral, she reconnects with her first love, Billy Black, who becomes a bridge back to the safety of her old life, and also to the origins of her inspiration. But Billy’s more lost than Jessie. Too often, he drowns his worries in beer, threatening to drag her down too. After she rekindles their affair, Matt’s jealousy confuses her. Before she can truly give herself to anyone, Jessie must learn to be true to herself.

The book starts of in a difficult manner, with the death and funeral of Jay, Jessie’s friend from back home.

The time period covered in the book is full of turmoil, both professionally and personally, and that comes through beautifully in the writing. Each choice Jessie makes has an effect on some other aspect of her life. Jealousy, love, embarrassment, pride . . . While it is true that older men might need cheap generic viagra more of it. There are flashbacks that highlight choices and relationships that have a bearing on Jessie’s present day life. They do not detract from the story, but rather add another layer of understanding to the characters and the plot.

The pace really picks up part way through the book, and I felt it became easier to read. This was when I really began to enjoy the book. It became even more exciting when Jessie and Matt’s assignments started to have an element of physical danger to them, and Jessie needed to stand up for herself at a job she no longer enjoyed.

Jessie’s profession of photographer lends to beautifully descriptive passages, both of the beautiful and the “unsavory”. The writing could have glossed over this device, but instead, Ms. Masters chose to use it to it’s fullest, describing the environment, using the visual descriptions to evoke emotions, to portray what her characters are feeling. Definitely the best part of the book.

The Bridge Between is not what I expected. However, it was certainly worth reading. Not “fluff” reading in any way so be sure you have some time to devote to the story, and to enjoy the writing.

When someone frames Gina Rizzo for murder, there’s only one person who can help her—the man who broke her heart years ago.

Not only do they have to keep themselves away from a killer, but they have to face their past. Ms. Jordon does an extraordinary job creating believable and likable characters, along with writing such a fast paced novel.

The first chapter or two started out a tad slow, but still had plenty of interesting things going on, and then all of a sudden the pace picks up immensely, keeping me wide-eyed and hanging on to every word. If you love romantic suspense then add Autumn Jordon to the list of authors to try. Ms. Jordon’s name won’t soon be forgotten, this author is hot and on the rise! Kate Silver’s back in town, and her dead mother just won’t leave her alone.

Kate usually spends her days dressing Hollywood A-listers, but after her estranged mother dies she finds herself elbow-deep in flour in her parents’ bakery . . . in Deer Lick, Montana. She thought she’d left small-town life far, far behind, but it seems there are a few loose ends.

The boy she once loved, Deputy Matt Ryan, is single and sexy and still has a thing for her . . . and handcuffs.

Her mother, who won’t follow the white light, is determined to give maternal advice from beyond the grave.

And somehow Kate’s three-day stay has, well . . . extended. She never planned to fill her mother’s pie-baking shoes—she prefers her Choos, thank you very much. But with the help of a certain man in uniform, Kate quickly learns that sometimes second chances are all the more sweet.

She’d just go back for her mother’s funeral and then return to her fashion job. Involving in any unhealthy practices is also unsafe for female cheap viagra sales with this sexual complexity. Ms. Terry makes her main female character, Katie, a strong young woman who will do whatever she needs to succeed in the fashion world. Her mother didn’t think it was possible, so Katie left town ten years ago and never went back. The author adds her mother as a ghost, which is very interesting way of solving past differences. While this is all fantasy, it does sound like a conversation that should have taken place in real life. And her mom is a great character; who else appears in her old Buick with Tom Jones playing on the radio?

Besides the family issue, Katie learns her boyfriend from high school still has interest in her. He’s a local cop running for sheriff and a hunk besides, but her life in the glitzy fashion world of Los Angeles is where she loves living now. Ms. Terry has given both of her main love interests a chip on their shoulders, and they are doing their best to keep it there and not get hurt anymore.

The story is well paced and the author easily gets you emotionally involved in her characters. (I wanted to pick Katie up and shake her!) I really enjoyed her mother’s ghost giving her advice. Whenever Katie got huffy about it, Mom’s ghost faded out. Now if we could just do that in real life…

I kept turning pages through this read because I was anxious to find out how Ms. Terry resolved the issues between the two lovers. The sex between them was incredible, but could they merge their visions of the future?

Why not buy yourself a copy and see? And, there are two more stories coming out in this series about her brother and sister. I bet Mom has some advice for them, too! For a fun, sexy read you should grab a copy of Second Chance at the Sugar Shack.

When they work together for six months in his hospital, their fascination with one another shocks them both. Can attraction and love overcome guilt, duty, and a clash of cultures?

In the spirit of full disclosure, I must admit, I am very happy with our author’s research for this story. Perhaps even a bit in awe. While I enjoyed reading the romance, I had absolutely no problem believing that Ms. Risk had either worked in the medical field or visited Minsk (or a similar area). What a joy for the reader to be able to experience!

This book has many of the things I am looking for in a good romance novel: a believable plot, a likeable hero and heroine, and is long enough to flesh out the story, and enjoy the characters before finishing the book. (We all like to keep our likeable heroes and heroines around for “just a little bit longer”, don’t we?!)

There was enough travel outside of the hospital setting to incorporate some of the local traditions and landmarks. This lent a bit of the exotic, and was fun reading about an area I know nothing about. After this phase, men can attain hard penile erection which they can hold for longer time; hence there is no need to get purchase viagra other dose in similar day. After the omission browse around this pharmacy shop levitra discount prices of patent, the first Indian company, Ajanta Pharma, produced Kamagra with using Sildenafil citrate, which belongs to the category of PDE-5 inhibitors. Just make sure that you have this type of tinnitus, it sounds like a cheapest viagra price whooshing or pounding noise in your ear. It is affordable purchase cialis online and requested by many of our tissues and organs are largely composed of protein. (Again, full disclosure, I was looking for the author to use the few Russian words that I actually knew. I was not disappointed!)

The hospital scenes were a bit difficult for me, as the plot focused on how ill-equipped and poor this hospital was. Understandable, as this is the premise of the book (and the reason our heroine travels to Minsk) but still seemed repetitive. I did enjoy the head nurse and her attitude. “This is the way we have always done it, and just because you are new and a doctor doesn’t mean you get to change it” is her attitude throughout the book. No matter what profession you are in, there always seems to be a coworker with this attitude.

I am not a fan of the resolution of Jill’s issues with children, and marriage. It seemed a bit too neat and tied up in a bow and all in one instant for my tastes. It did, however, give the story an almost inspirational “feel-good” ending. It seemed more than the “happily ever after” that is common in romances, but left this reader beliving the hero and heroine are able to settle down and get to the business of living the rest of their life.

A nice book for a long weekend! Be sure to pick it up!
