Pregnant?

His grandmother’s ultimatum was that he marry, not become a dad. But when brilliant physician Ethan Hartwell searched for the only woman he’d never quite forgotten, he found a two-for-one—Sloane Davenport was carrying his child! Now Ethan had to decide whether to tell Sloane his darkest secret…

A foster kid, Sloane dreamed of giving her own child a perfect family. But one incredible night with Ethan left her pregnant and—outrageously—fired from her job. Struggling to keep her independence, Sloane refused Ethan’s logical proposal. She wasn’t about to marry for anything but respect and partnership and love. So what will it take for her “maybe” to become a “yes”?

This book taps into what a reader needs to see and feel in order to connect with a character. There are moments of pure genius where description and emotions mesh to form a perfect experience and the fact that it happens more than once during this tale is a pleasant surprise.

The Mogul’s Maybe Marriage is a misleading title. Somehow, I connect the word ‘mogul’ to Ethan’s grandmother. That woman is absolutely the most manipulative power-broking shark in the whole book. The fact that she works her Machiavellian schemes on her own flesh and blood makes what Ethan, the hero, does seem mild in comparison. The words ‘maybe marriage’ stem from the hero being called on the carpet for his role in not living up to his commitment. He thinks he is and that’s when the problems start.

There are so many emotional hooks in this story, I’m not sure where to start. The hero is dogged by fear for most of the book. Fear of the future, fear of what might happen, fear of death, fear of failure and loss and his inability to deal with it all swirl around the man’s brain. He’s tried to distance himself and put buffers so he wouldn’t get emotionally hurt but that gets blown to pieces when he meets the one woman whose very presence makes him forget, makes him hope and makes him realize all he really has to lose if he lets her go.

Sloane is the heroine who has the power to save Ethan from himself. She has her own dragons to slay and that is so hard to do without a job, and money dwindling fast. The one thing that circumstances can’t take away is her pride, her integrity and her willingness to fight. She’s also amazingly pragmatic. I liked that she could step away from the typical emotional response that a lot of women might have had when Ethan stepped back into her life. She thought things through and despite her pride, acknowledged the truth of what she had to do. She didn’t realize until later why making that decision was so easy.

The conflict comes from two people merging from different aspects of the social scale. It comes from an undisclosed agreement that, of course, gets revealed at the most inopportune time. Inasmuch as that’s an overused tactic and it was done with a blasé sense of ‘get it over with’, it still provided a boost of angst to get the story wrapped up.

What I liked the best is how the author had Ethan pouring his heart out. The quantity or tadalafil sale unica-web.com the blue pill is small fraction of the branded counterpart. Also one should not suddenly stop taking buy canada levitra the medicine, especially if it is being taken for a long time. Also, people who experience other bladder problems like viagra sale https://unica-web.com/watch/2018/wildlife-in-focus.html the presence of a naked woman for sexual stimulation and they treat sex as one of their greatest accomplishments. A medical practitioner will have a better chance of informing you the dangers and threats when viagra cialis proben using the medication. A reader can tell it’s a struggle; that it causes him emotional anguish because he has to fight against himself to tell the real truth and not use a clever quip to divert the moment. I could see the man being very nervous. But the dialogue was the gem of the story. When he started pouring forth the words of his heart, it was the definition of romantic. What woman could resist such eloquent revelations? Believe it or not, Sloane could. She took a stand for most of the book that had Ethan in a bit of pain and physical frustration. Yet, the hero respected the heroine, mostly. Where he failed is another one of those pivotal moments in the tale. When he had to eat humble pie is another scene of passionate entreaty and wonderful words that touch the heart.

Another event that showcased symptoms of Ethan’s overwhelming fear was in how he treated the cute and adorable puppy. The author used that as a clever mirror that reflected what might eventually affect him and Sloane’s relationship – and another of Ethan’s greatest torment. As a child, Ethan didn’t have it easy and money couldn’t save or cure what ailed his family. He thinks history will repeat itself but through Sloane’s determination and steadfast belief in him and their love, it will turn out different. I believe it will based upon what I learned as I got to know the heroine’s character.

Ms. Klasky did a tremendous job in getting a reader to understand what makes both the hero and heroine tick. I think she worked so hard on them that the grandmother, who does play an integral part in their lives, was not fleshed out as much as I felt she needed to be. I can’t put my finger on it but I was more convinced about her ability and willingness to orchestrate other people’s lives and getting her own way than truly showing any affection and love towards Ethan, her grandson. I know the words were there, but I didn’t feel it.

The Mogul’s Maybe Marriage is an emotional force to be reckoned with. There is an incredible amount of feeling and sentiment that builds up until Ethan and Sloane can’t help but fall in love. Ms. Klasky did a wonderful job of building up the sensual tension between the two to the point a reader could almost feel the vibrating need between the two lovers. There is light humor to break up the intense responses and bottled up desires throughout the story. The editing was great and the pace was a smooth march.

If a reader craves romance that revolves around the written word and not what happens between the sheets then this book delivers in sparkling fashion.

The Wild Rose is a part of the sweeping, multi- generational saga that began with The Tea Rose and continued with The Winter Rose. It is London, 1914. World War I looms on the horizon, women are fighting for the right to vote, and explorers are pushing the limits of endurance in the most forbidding corners of the earth. Into this volatile time, Jennifer Donnelly places her vivid and memorable characters:

–Willa Alden, a passionate mountain climber who lost her leg while summiting Kilimanjaro with Seamus Finnegan, and who will never forgive him for saving her life;

–Seamus Finnegan, a polar explorer who tries to forget Willa as he marries a beautiful young schoolteacher back home in England

–Max von Brandt, a handsome German sophisticate who courts high society women, but has a secret agenda in wartime London.

Many other beloved characters from The Winter Rose continue their adventures in The Wild Rose as well. With myriad twists and turns, thrilling cliffhangers, and fabulous period detail and atmosphere, The Wild Rose provides a highly satisfying conclusion to an unforgettable trilogy.

Willa Alden and Seamus Finnegan, soul mates who cannot seem to find their way back to each other, are strong forces that propel the reader into a maelstrom that threatens to overwhelm at times. The Wild Rose is poignant, compelling and often heartbreaking. It takes the reader into the World War I era when social structures and ways of waging war changed forever. It is an amazing love story bit it also encompasses a world of social woes and inexplicable human emotions.

The battle scars of living in hard times and in war time marks the lives of every character in this novel. Each character seems avidly committed to a cause that rules his or her life, a commitment that excludes happiness except in small increments, like brief glimpses of the sunshine on a dreary, cloudy day. Whether it is a quest, a duty, a strong sense of social justice, or a “calling”, something demands the best and continual efforts of the characters at great personal expense.

The Wild Rose is like a huge tapestry that records a significant time in history and in the lives of Willa, Seamus, their families, friends, and associates–some good and some not-so-good.

Sophisticated espionage, political struggles, deplorable living condition in parts of London, and dedicated “do-gooders” (in the very best sense of the word) are background, an ever-present design, in the tapestry while Willa and her quest at wild, pristine Mount Everest stands out in bold. stark, detail showing all the beauty and danger.

The part of the tapestry that shows life in London is crammed full of characters, a few add a touch of humor here and there, but most are serious and many have clandestine agendas that force them to lead doubt lives that create stress and sometimes irreparable hurt.

Kilimanjaro where Willa seemed to lose her dreams and her way after she left Seamus, she drives herself mercilessly using opiates to fight the pain of her amputated leg (and wounded soul) she photographs and writes about Mount Everest as battles the cold and makes her way in a unique culture of the people she lives among. Her heart still reaches out to Seamus but she denies herself not only him but also her family that worries about her. She is alone.

Seamus, haunted by what happened at Kilimanjaro, longs for Willa down-deep in his soul. His is a bold design in The Wild Rose tapestry—a design that shows him beautifully male, desired by women, a rover, and polar explorer who slips into a marriage, then into the thick of navel operation in the Mediterranean that finally lands him in a prisoner of war camp in the African desert. After the war, Seamus’ design in the tapestry changes to less bold as the bonds with his little son.

As the Willa design and the Seamus design weave in close to each other then out again during both their near-death war experiences, the reader’s breath is taken away by the barbarism and the covert operations that are carried out in such unfeeling ways.

Finally the tenuous balance of winner and loser of the war finding a way back to some sort of normalcy for the good of humanity proves to be a fragile thread in the tapestry that could so easily break with just the wrong twist or pull.

Post-war England, the shell-shocked soldiers, the desperate struggles to rebuild the economy and foreign relations are all somber designs in the tapestry. One of the darkest, scariest parts is Willa’s wild, beyond-endurance race from Paris to a small village in England to insure the well-being of a little boy and his dad when it seems all the world has turned against her.

The Wild Rosecomes full circle at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Scarred but content and at peace, Willa and Seamus find their place and joy in their forever love as they share the best of themselves with each other and with one adored child.

Jennifer Donnelly masterfully weaves together a main plot with a multitude of sub-plots–all crammed full of true-to-life characters that stir the whole gamut of emotions from bliss to deepest despair. The Wild Rose is phenomenal.

I will warn, there are a lot of characters, but as per Ms. Brown’s style, it’s like reading about a gigantic extended family. Everyone is important to the story and I couldn’t leave any of them out. But I’m going to focus on the hero and heroine. Talk about a hoot, reading along as Pearl–love the Minnie Pearl connection–gave Wil a run for his money. She’s got some fantastic one liners. And Wil. Well, he’s written so well, I could picture him. Ms. Brown, I’d love another hero just as handsome. He’s full of concern and love for Pearl, even if he doesn’t know it. I enjoyed reading about the journey between first lust and full bloom love. And as much as she gets him going, he does the same right back to her.

I won’t give anything away, but this is one of those books you sit down and can’t help but read all at once. There’s no getting up for a drink of water or going to sleep. Nope. All the little things are important and make the story richer. Oh, and the steamy scenes, well, get the glass of water before you start. You’ll be glad you did.

If you want a book with plenty of twists, turns, hot cowboys, and a storyline that’s got to be continued (please, Ms. Brown, you’ve got the next story in the works?), then you need a copy of Red’s Hot Cowboy. It’s earned every one of the 4.5 books.

A single lady in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a suitor

Margaret de Lacey has accepted her unmarried state with dignity, if not delight. She had no suitors when she was young and starry-eyed, though regrettably poor, and it’s unlikely any man will court her now that she’s older, wiser, and still just as penniless. Until, that is, her brother unexpectedly inherits the dukedom of Durham and settles an enormous dowry on her, making her the most eligible heiress in town.

No gentleman in London is more in need of a wealthy bride than Rhys Corwen, Earl of Dowling. He contrives an introduction to Margaret because of her dowry, but she swiftly sets him right: no fortune hunter will win her heart or her hand. Far from put off, Rhys is intrigued. Interested. Entranced. And soon the only thing he needs more than Margaret’s fortune…is her love.

If a reader is in the mood for a delightful and uplifting romance that warms the heart and brings a smile to their face, then I Love the Earl is going to deliver what they’re looking for.

I liked the way the author laid the groundwork for the story. I understood where Margaret was coming from and how she had to settle for her lot in life. What I appreciated was how the heroine never lost her sense of self, her humor, or feelings of self-worth. She adjusted, accepted and yet deep inside, she still had her dreams. The lack of her dreams coming true did not turn her into a bitter young woman, but I credit that to the healthy relationship with her brother, Francis. But even big, doting older brothers aren’t perfect as I found out later in the book.

A person who is not comfortable or accepting of his lot in life is Rhys, the sixth Earl of Dowling. Poor guy had a string of rotten luck and it’s put him in an untenable situation with truly only one option open to save himself. I like that he didn’t take the cowards way out, or this would have been a really short story. As it is, Rhys decides to marry the money. I quirked a smile at his confidence because he believed that it would be so easy to do. Nothing good comes easily and the hero found that out in short order, much to my delight.

The scene when Margaret cuts the hero to the quick is pivotal and fun. Right then a reader knows the game is afoot and they’ll notice a nice uptake in the pace of the plot, dialogue and conflict. It becomes smooth, quick and engaging. When the hero decides he’s going to seductively woo the heroine, I would place bets that not many women could resist such a ploy. Men with ED concern generally get fail in sexual practice. order generic viagra Fortunately, lab testing is available that can cheapest generic cialis help you improve overall health along with sexual health. But it’s not perfect because, let’s face it, he’s a guy used to getting his own way and dealing with limp airheaded females, so, he has some adjusting to do. There is nothing weak, insipid or brainless about Maggie. And I loved that Rhys was delighted by that fact. The way he smiles when before he had nothing to smile about touched me. Those were sweet moments.

Watching both of them fall in love and seeing what differences attracted each of them to the other was fun. Seeing Rhys stand up to Maggie’s brother was a great scene. If I could shine a spotlight on a moment that screams romance, that was it. Gentle humor was another component of I Love the Earl and the author used it effectively, especially when the hero and heroine constantly got interrupted. It caused a few snickers on my end.

I liked this story and I’m pleasantly curious about what was going on with Maggie’s brother because I could tell something was. Although entertaining, this book isn’t one that will haunt me and inspire an obsession to read any and all books on Ms. Linden’s backlist It has however, put this author on my ‘worth keeping an eye out for’ reading list and should I see a book of hers in a store or library, I’ll certainly pick it up. Who knows, maybe the next one will flip on my obsession switch and Ms. Linden could find herself with a new fan-girl. As it is, she has my deep appreciation for writing a story that truly was heartfelt and loving.

I Love the Earl has a clear lock on what it takes to make a book romantic and engaging ensuring that readers are in for a treat. It’s sweet, tender and delightful. The chemistry between Rhys and Maggie was sizzling and they made a great couple. I enjoyed this tale and got a little weepy at the epilogue. Even readers not prone to reading historical romances will find this a story they can relate to and that’s a credit to Ms. Linden’s writing style. Check it out and see.

What secrets are going to be revealed? What choices will Julie make after hearing these stories? There are plenty of obstacles to get through before Brett and Julie’s happily ever after.

Some of the conflict and untold secrets are a bit weak, but not enough to make for a bad ending. Overall it’s enjoyable anda good book. If you like reading about a hero and heroine that have shared a past and have a second chance, then add Borrowing the Bride to your list of books to read.

Storm lord’s daughter Cecily Sutton’s powers over sea and sky have put her life at risk. Giles Beaumont is reluctant to protect her, until he falls under her enchanting spell…

If a reader appreciates a book filled with pictures painted with words, and details that animate a world within your mind, then look no further than the amazing book by the talented Ms. Kennedy.

The Lady of the Storm is a book worth spending the time with. I was first introduced to this alternate and fantastical England with The Fire Lord’s Lover. The world building astounded me then and I couldn’t imagine how much more could be added; it was already so rich. Ms. Kennedy had it covered. In this latest adventure, the author introduced me to a new quest, new characters, and new obstacles for the hero and heroine to overcome. I can also assure readers that this is a terrific stand alone read.

Readers of the first book will understand the references to ‘being tested” and know that it’s not a good thing. For those who are visiting for the first time with this story, enough gets shared during character dialogue to understand why it’s to be feared. The explanations of why there is a rebellion are, again, naturally presented in the due course of events.

The author first sets up the relationship between Giles and Cecily by delving into their past and sharing the things that made them the people they are. By the time the tale begins in earnest, I understood the internal conflicts that tore them apart inside, and the external conflict that affected not just them but all of their English countrymen. It’s a fight for independence and reclamation of their life and lands.

Cecily is delightfully stubborn yet is a tender hearted lady. She only allows herself to accept the magic inside of her that helps others or causes no harm. There’s a reason for that and it’s believable. Her magic also gets employed as a tool to move the plot along. I liked how the author molded a young sheltered girl into a woman that’s a force to be reckoned with. The transition was detailed in such a way that I felt like I was shadowing the heroine every step of the way. Cecily inadvertently trained herself for her future and only after reading this book will readers understand what I mean. Magic is the world she was born into, but not all that she knows.

Giles’s character is so sweet. I don’t mean he’s a pansy. It also helps the central nervous system to relax and widen, allowing more blood to you can try here generika viagra flow out and softening the penile erection. Contact your doctor if generic levitra online http://icks.org/n/data/conference/1482731615_report_file.pdf erection continues longer than four hours. I refer to him being a man who fell in love when he was but a kid and didn’t or couldn’t recognize the emotion for what it was. His actions speak loud and clear to what is in his heart. Ms. Kennedy put him through the wringer that sorely tested his resolve and his love by having something happen to him that crushed his spirit. Yet, though his words, harshly and firmly spoken, and his chilling and isolationist silence made his choice clear, his actions eventually speak louder than the storms his lady can call.

I sensed a bit of a Beauty and the Beast theme being interwoven through this fantasy. It’s a classic element and I enjoyed the author’s unique way of breathing new life into an old but treasured storytelling idea. Certainly it’s romantic and emotional and it touched me right where the author intended. It was well written and effective and again proved just how special Cecily was.

The romance is at the heart of this book but it’s tempered with the intrigue, suspense and light drama that the hero and heroine have to deal with before they can reach their happy ever after. The villain wasn’t a specific all encompassing target like it was in the first book. In The Lady of the Storm, there are villains and there are confrontations, bloody ones at that, but this tale is more about Cecily and Giles coming to an understanding about each other in spite of it all. Realizing they love each other in the midst of everything and battling for that love to survive against evil magical odds made for an entertaining read.

Secondary characters play vital roles in helping the hero and heroine get to where they need to be and do what had to be done. Some of them I wanted to toss into a smelly moat and others I wanted to hug. They were all well developed and brought the story into more vivid life. The writing was superb; the author paid close attention to detail without letting the story stagnant and it never gets bogged down. The pace was crisp, the dialogue true to the character’s personalities, and every now and again, a spot of humor and tenderness smoothed away any rough edges.

The Lady of the Storm is another whirlwind ride into the magical chaos that is England – a world that is fascinating as well as dangerous. Thanks to the stellar writing talents of Ms. Kennedy, I have a new series that will be an auto-buy for me. As real as the story seems when I’m in the midst of it, I am so glad no fire demons will actually jump out at me. However, I wouldn’t mind a Giles of my own, without that spooky sword of his, that is. Thank you, Ms. Kennedy, for a wild reading experience and for introducing me to a heroine and hero I enjoyed getting to know.

He possessed Amalie by the moon’s sultry glow and sent her to the white-hot limits of ecstatsy. But by day, her husand, Julien Declouet, remained aloof. Who was this myserious man whose languid caress and sweet seduction she craved? Yet deep in her heart, she knew the answer. Her midnight lover was not her husband, but his handsome cousin, Robert….

On a warm, dark night in Creole country of Louisiana, mid-nineteenth century, Amalie Peachier Declouet wonders why any woman would call what had just happened, a duty. It was pleasure like she’d never realized could be—pure ecstasy that left her feeling complete and loved. She was, indeed, a married woman now in every sense of the word–not a spinster left on the self after six years of mourning with no prospects.

Julian Declouet, Amalie’s husband, has her dressed in the latest styles and proudly displays her for all to see. His mother Sophia soon gives over any of the duties of running the plantation household to Amalie, whom the slaves start calling “petite maitresse”. Her skills, industrious nature, and sincere concern for free and slave alike endears her to the people of Belle Grove, the Declouet plantation on Bayou Teche. Only the overseer Patrick Dye is disrespectful and makes suggestive, crude remarks to her every chance he gets. Julian and Sophia tell Amalie to ignore him, but refuse to consider firing him–hm!

Julian has no interest in the day by day running of the plantation, he just enjoys the money it affords him so he can pursue his pleasures. His cousin Robert, whom Sophia reared with love from age five, can be depended on to see that Belle Grove prospers just as he sees to the well-being of his own plantation, The Willows.

The secondary characters like Chloe (Sophia’s goddaughter) and George the Englishman gardener; Madame Callot, the gossiper; Violet, somewhat of a mystery woman; Lally, Tige, and little Isa (all slaves), add sub-plots and emotional involvements that intrigue as they propel the story of the Declouets along its troubled way with its undercurrents of secrets and fears that surface from time to time keeping the reader tantalized with foreshadowing, clues, back stories, and glimpses of secret, deep-seated needs of the characters—so much to enjoy.

Jennifer Blake creates a story full of mystery, misery, and magic of love. Her narrative of the unique styles of homes gives the reader a vicarious experience of feeling the cross breeze circulation through the house on a hot, humid summer night. Her description of the flood on Bayou Teche and the aftermath engages the reader’s senses and emotions as she brings to life the mud and misery of aching weariness as all work to save and revive Belle Grove. Another mind-shattering event comes alive as she describes the hurricane on Isle Derniere when winds, rain, and raging waters of the hurricane roar in like a mad beast killing and destroying without mercy. Ms. Blake takes one’s breath away with the realness of it all. She ramps up the anxiety with the antagonist surprises presence that threatens to destroy all that the hurricane had not. However, the crown jewel of the story is the love story that threads through it all like the golden thread in a tapestry that enriches its warmth and sparkle as it reveals a surprise, or maybe not-so-surprising, soul mate connect.

Midnight Waltz suggests darkness and sensuality and it delivers in spades—super good reading!
